Cause Of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s Death Revealed

Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes the day after he confronted rioters during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to the chief medical examiner in Washington, D.C.

The Washington Post reported that medical examiner Francisco Diaz “said the autopsy found no evidence the 42-year-old officer suffered an allergic reaction to chemical irritants, which Diaz said would have caused Sicknick’s throat to quickly seize. Diaz also said there was no evidence of internal or external injuries.”

The newspaper noted that “the ruling, released Monday, likely will make it difficult for prosecutors to pursue homicide charges in the officer’s death.”

The publicly disclosed timeline of events shows that Sicknick was sprayed with a chemical substance outside the U.S. Capitol around 2:20 p.m. Jan. 6. After returning to his office around 10 p.m. that evening, the officer collapsed and was transported to a local hospital. . .

Following the release of the medical examiner’s report, the Capitol Police issued a statement saying the department accepts the findings “but this does not change the fact Officer Brian Sicknick died in the Line of Duty, courageously defending Congress and the Capitol,” NBC News reported. Fauci: Vaccine Doesn’t Matter, You Still Have To Wear A Mask

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday said vaccinated people should still wear a mask to avoid “inadvertently” spreading the coronavirus or becoming sick themselves — though he acknowledged the risk was “very low.”

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said it’s still possible for fully vaccinated people to contract the virus.

“What happens is that you might get infected and get absolutely no symptoms, not know you’re infected, and then inadvertently go into a situation with vulnerable people,” Fauci said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“And if you don’t have a mask, you might inadvertently infect them. Now, there’s a small risk of that, but it’s there.” (Read more from “Fauci: Vaccine Doesn’t Matter, You Still Have To Wear A Mask” HERE)

The former sheriff’s detective who allegedly killed his wife, teen daughter and her high school football star boyfriend was reportedly arrested Monday morning while in possession of a pistol.

Stephen Broderick, 41, was collared near Manor, a city about 12 miles northeast of Austin, after cops received a 911 call about a man walking near US Highway 290, KVUE’s Tony Plohetski reported in a tweet.

Broderick was arrested without incident some 20 hours after the shooting, he added.

The Manor Police Department said the suspect had a handgun but that no shots were fired at the time of his arrest, KXAN reported.

He was captured between Manor and Elgin on Old Kimbro Road just south of Highway 290 after police received calls reporting a suspicious person. (Read more from “Ex-Cop Reportedly Arrested In Killings Of Wife, Daughter, Boyfriend” HERE)

Utah Governor Defends Racism as Long as It’s Against White Kids

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox defended racism against white kids during a question and answer session with constituents on Thursday.

During the session, live-tweeted by the governor’s official Twitter account, one Utah citizen asked “if it’s racist that the Utah Jazz excludes white children from the team’s scholarship program.”

The program created by the NBA team allots a scholarship to a new “underrepresented student of color enrolling as a freshman for the 2021-22 school year” for every team win during the 2020-21 season basketball season. To qualify for the funds, students must have graduated from high school and be a “person of color.” Since the program’s start, the team has handed out nearly 50 full-ride scholarships to black and minority students only.

Despite the team’s deliberate exclusion of white students from the program, Cox said the scholarship requirements are not racist.

“It’s not racist. Ryan Smith and the Jazz can do what they want with their funds. All kids should have equal opportunities, and we’re proud of the Jazz,” he replied.

Father Of 7 Paralyzed After Receiving COVID Vaccine

A 43-year-old father of seven children in Mississippi was left unable to speak and paralyzed on one side of his body three hours after being inoculated with the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, his family says.

On a Facebook page to help pay for the medical costs of Brad Malagarie of St. Martin, Mississippi, the man’s family says he suffered a stroke Tuesday caused by a blood clot in his left middle cerebral artery shortly after getting the single-dose shot.

The healthy man got the shot at midday, then returned to work, and within three hours, his coworkers saw him unresponsive at his desk. . .

“He’s a young, healthy 43-year-old, and I immediately thought it, and I said be sure to tell the doctors he took that J&J vaccine and that, to me, is what caused his stroke.”

“He can’t talk now and he can’t walk. He’s paralyzed on the right side. He knows who we are and he will just cry when he sees us.” (Read more from “Father Of 7 Paralyzed After Receiving COVID Vaccine” HERE)

Biden ‘Prepared To Compromise’ On Infrastructure Plan

President Joe Biden told a bipartisan group of legislators that he is “prepared to compromise” on his $2.25 trillion infrastructure plan at a White House meeting Monday.

Republicans present at the meeting include Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven, Florida Rep. Carlos Giménez, and Texas Rep. Kay Granger. Independent Maine Rep. Angus King was also present along with five Democratic senators and representatives. Republicans have criticized Biden’s infrastructure plan for allegedly having little to do with roads and bridges, arguing that it is instead a disguise for unrelated Democratic party priorities. Biden and Democrats argue the definition of “infrastructure” ought to be expanded to include welfare, climate initiatives, and other programs.

Monday’s meeting is supposed to be a kick-off for the Biden administration’s larger push to create bipartisan support for his plan. Republicans and more radical Democrats have both proposed alternative versions to Biden’s plan, but the White House has yet to announce any specific concessions to either side. Man Who Tossed An Elderly Jewish Woman Off A Balcony While Yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ Avoids Trial Because He Smoked Weed

France’s top court ruled on Wednesday that the killer of an elderly Jewish woman will not go on trial, France24 reported.

Kobili Traoré admitted to murdering his neighbor, Sarah Halimi, in 2017. He shouted “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is great” in Arabic, and “I killed the devil,” shortly before throwing her off the balcony of her third-floor Paris apartment, The New York Times said.

On Wednesday, the Court of Cassation – France’s final court of appeal – affirmed two prior judgments that ruled that Traoré could not be held criminally responsible for his actions because he was in a state of drug-induced psychosis.

Traoré, a drug dealer, smoked pot every day for 13 years and had up to 15 joints a day, Israel Hayom reported. Toxicological analysis revealed the presence of cannabis in his blood on the day he was arrested, the French newspaper Libération said.

The court noted that “a person is not criminally responsible if suffering, at the time of the event, from psychic or neuropsychic disturbance that has eliminated all discernment or control,” The Times said. Serious Warning For ‘Inappropriate’ ‘Sex And Gender’ Treatments

A new study in the British Medical Journal warns of “inappropriate” medical treatments for patients that could occur when doctors “deliberately confuse sex and gender.”

The U.K.’s Christian Institute said the study from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland said “the significance of biological sex is being ignored by some medical practitioners, which can result in male or female-specific treatments being offered to the wrong people.”

“In their study, published in the British Medical Journal, the researchers explained that in cases where transgender patients have been taking cross-sex hormones for a long period, they may respond differently to treatments for medical conditions,” the institute said.

Dr. Margaret McCartney of the university’s medical school said: “There are many instances of sex and gender being confused by the research community and society more broadly. Unless we identify and count categories correctly, we will end up with errors which serve all populations poorly, including minority populations.” (Read more from “Serious Warning For ‘Inappropriate’ ‘Sex And Gender’ Treatments” HERE)

New York Times Caught Changing Its Vote-Fraud Narrative

. . .To pass a law limiting the use of absentee ballots, as Georgia recently did, is no longer to choose a side in a legitimate debate over how to balance ballot integrity and ease of voting. Instead, to express concern about the risk of election fraud is seen as being engaged in a different sort of fraud — an illegitimate effort to disenfranchise the poor and minorities. The New York Times has aggressively insisted the last several months that worries over absentee and mail-in ballots, in particular, are dishonest violations of voting rights. Times staff opinion editor Spencer Bokat-Lindell wrote late in October that “[t]he effort to discredit and discourage mail-in voting” was the “culmination of a decades-long disinformation campaign by the Republican Party and others to suppress votes, especially those cast by Black and Latino Americans.”

But what of the Times itself, which for over two decades has warned readers that the most common sort of election fraud involves absentee voting? As recently as September, Times reporters Stephanie Saul and Reid Epstein quoted Richard Hasen, who teaches election law at the University of California, Irvine, saying that “[e]lection fraud in the United States is very rare, but the most common type of such fraud in the United States involves absentee ballots.”

In 2018 operatives working for the Republican candidate for North Carolina’s Ninth Congressional District seat, falsified absentee ballots. Times reporters Alan Blinder and Michael Wines told readers that the state’s long history of election fraud was “under a spotlight.” They quoted lawyer Bill Gilkeson saying that “absentee ballots” were “where the fraud really happens.” In 2019 Blinder wrote, “The Ninth District controversy ranks among the highest-profile examples of modern election fraud,” one that “underscores how absentee ballots remain susceptible to abuse.”

What accounts for the change from a dark presentation of the issue to a decidedly rosy one? RealClearInvestigations asked a spokesperson for the New York Times whether the paper’s current enthusiasm for absentee voting meant its staff’s previous criticism and reporting were wrong or misleading. RCI also asked whether the articles had been, even just unintentionally, part of what Times staff editor Bokat-Lindell called “a decades-long disinformation campaign by the Republican Party and others to suppress votes”? She did not respond to those two questions. (Read more from “New York Times Caught Changing Its Vote-Fraud Narrative” HERE)
