Kamala Harris: Americans Are Sleeping Better Due to Joe Biden’s ‘Help’

Vice President Kamala Harris said Americans are “able to breath easier and sleep better” due to President Joe Biden’s “help,” during a speech in North Carolina on Monday.

Harris, speaking to advance President Joe Biden’s $2.25 trillion infrastructure proposal at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, promoted the Biden administration’s “help” that she believes is “delivering real, real relief.”

“Help is here. Help is here,” she reiterated.

“And hope is here and things are looking up. Schools are reopening. Businesses are reopening. Grandparents are seeing their grandchildren in person,” she praised.

“We are delivering real, real relief and the American people are now able to breathe easier and sleep better. And we are not done. The president and I are ready to keep going and we are not going to take it slow. And we are not going to take it one step at a time,” Harris said with a caveat. President Joe Biden now supports decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level and legalizing marijuana for medical use, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters Tuesday.

“The President supports leaving decisions regarding legalization for recreational use up to the states, rescheduling cannabis as a Schedule 2 drug so researchers can study its positive and negative impacts,” Psaki said in response to a question from Fox News’ Kristin Fischer on the subject. “At the federal level, he supports decriminalizing marijuana use and automatically expunging any prior criminal records. He also supports legalizing medicinal marijuana.” . . .

Biden stood alone among the top tier 2020 Democratic presidential candidates in opposing federal legalization of marijuana. Vice President Kamala Harris’ own campaign criminal justice reform plan focused heavily on full federal legalization.

Furthermore, the White House drew fire after apparently reversing a stated policy on staffers’ past marijuana use. Despite informing prospective hires that “applicants with limited marijuana use [would] not be barred from” serving in the administration, the White House asked multiple staffers already working in the administration to resign after they admitted to limited marijuana use in the past. Is Herpes a Possible Side Effect of the COVID Vaccine? (VIDEO)

Herpes infections may be a side effect of a COVID-19 vaccine, experts have revealed.

Scientists in Israel identified six cases in a new study of patients developing a skin rash known as herpes zoster — or shingles — after receiving the Pfizer vaccine, according to a study in the Rheumatology journal.

Herpes zoster starts off as a small, itchy skin rash, but if left untreated, it could cause nerve damage and pain, the Jerusalem Post reported.

This can include a prolonged burning sensation on the skin even after the rash disappears.

Researchers from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and Carmel Medical Center in Haifa found those with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases had a higher risk of developing the herpes infection.

Female Authors Protest After Transgender Man Is Nominated for ‘Women’s Prize’

Men — individuals who biologically are male — already are in women’s athletics, locker rooms and restrooms under the transgender agenda.

Now, women are protesting a literary organization’s nomination of a man for its “Women’s Prize for Fiction,” which includes a $42,000 payout.

In a letter, the Wild Woman Writing Club is protesting the nomination of Torrey Peters, a man who lives as a woman, for his book “Detransition, Baby.”

The letter by the WWWC to the charity that presents the prize, the Women’s Prize Trust, obtained some 250 signatures within a day. However, some signed under a pseudonym due to fear of being “permanently canceled by the book industry,” the U.K.’s Christian Institute explained.

The letter said: “The Women’s Prize was established to recognize the contribution of female writers who were overlooked by other major literary awards. The founder launched it in response to the all-male shortlist for the 1991 Booker Prize. Over the years, the Women’s Prize has been criticized as ‘sexist’ because it is for women. Idaho Legislature Considers Absorbing Part Of Oregon

A joint House and Senate committee of the Idaho legislature listened to an appeal by members of a group that want Idaho to absorb most of Oregon.

The request is a longshot — requiring approval of the legislatures of both states as well as Congress — but the invitation from Idaho lawmakers may have been the biggest win so far for the group, Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho, the Idaho Press reported.

Idaho state Rep. Barbara Ehardt, R-Idaho Falls, helped make the April 12 meeting possible.

“Why not have the conversation? It’s an intriguing idea. There absolutely are benefits to the idea,” she said. “It’s not necessarily something that would happen right away.” . . .

Unarmed Marine Tased in Front of Hospitalized Daughter by Out-of-Control Cops

Shocking video that has gone viral shows Marine veteran Carl E. Andersen Jr. being tased twice and dragged away by a sheriff’s deputy and police officers while he was in the hospital room of his 19-month-old daughter.

On April 17, 2019, Andersen’s daughter Charlotte was severely injured when his fiancé Carissa Hiteshew, who was five-months pregnant with his son at the time, accidentally struck her with a car, Andersen said. While his daughter’s injuries were not life-threatening, she suffered a crack in her skull that was serious, so she needed to be taken to an intensive care unit.

The infant girl was being treated in intensive care in Colorado Springs when a plain-clothes detective from the Teller County’s sheriff’s department entered her hospital room and demanded that both Anderson and Hiteshew hand over their phones without explaining why, Anderson said. When Andersen refused, the deputy came back with three officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department who were determined to get the phones through force, he said.

“When they walked into the room, it sort of felt like I was getting ready to go on patrol in Afghanistan,” Andersen told Task & Purpose. “I had just had this deep-seated feeling of: Well something is about to happen here and it’s not going to be good.” . . .

He has filed a lawsuit against the city of Colorado Springs, Teller County, and the four officers involved in the altercation in his daughter’s hospital room. Representatives from Teller County and the Colorado Springs Police Department declined to comment for this story, citing the ongoing litigation. The Majority of Americans Oppose Corporations Getting Political

. . .Corporate America’s half-baked frenzy over the new Georgia election’s law represents the latest example of how left-wing pressure, fear, and ignorance pushes companies and brands into taking sides and signaling alleged virtue to certain elements of society, while alienating vast segments of consumers. Major League Baseball embarrassed itself over the issue, as did Delta Airlines. Which look is worse? Rushing headlong into a Biden-endorsed boycott based on a law you care and know little about – or working closely with lawmakers to craft a final product that you believe is acceptable, only to knife them in the back when the mob decides your efforts weren’t good enough?

The CEO of Coca-Cola spoke out against the new law, which was Woke. Then the company appeared to back away from the political spotlight, telling a news outlet that Americans should come together and listen respectfully to different viewpoints in order to “find common ground.” Better. Call this Diet Woke, if you will. I prefer Woke Zero. So do most Americans, it turns out. 105-Year-Old Catholic Church Goes Up in Flames Miles Away From Minneapolis Protests

A Minneapolis Catholic Church was heavily damaged in a fire Monday evening as protests took place throughout the city ahead of a verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer accused of killing George Floyd.

Videos posted online show the fire roaring through the roof of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Northeast Minneapolis, about a 13 minute drive from where a mostly peaceful protest took place Monday night, according to local reporter Ryan Raiche.

Raiche’s photographs show smoke billowing away from the building and firefighters battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is being investigated, and it is unclear whether it is related to the protests.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation Tuesday that ATF certified fire investigators responded to the scene with Minneapolis Fire Department, noting that this is standard procedure for houses of worship.

President Biden Pushes DC Statehood

The White House is officially supporting Democrats’ long-shot effort to grant statehood for Washington, DC — a move that would all but assure the party would gain two more seats in the Senate.

“For far too long, the more than 700,000 people of Washington, D.C. have been deprived of full representation in the U.S. Congress,” the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of Biden administration policy.

“This taxation without representation and denial of self-governance is an affront to the democratic values on which our Nation was founded.”
