Trump-Appointed SCOTUS Judges Side With Liberals in Computer Fraud Case

Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch sided with liberal Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan Thursday to endorse a narrow approach on how to apply a 1986 law against computer hacking.

The justices overturned the conviction of a police officer\, Nathan Van Buren, who was paid to run a license plate search in violation of the police department’s policy and, according to the federal government, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

But Barrett, writing for the majority, said the officer technically did not access information he wasn’t entitled to. Instead, he simply misused his access to information he was authorized to see. Therefore, the court said, the officer did not violate federal law.

“This provision covers those who obtain information from particular areas in the computer – such as files, folders or databases – to which their computer access does not extend,” Barrett wrote in the majority opinion. “It does not cover those who, like Van Buren, have improper motives for obtaining information that is otherwise available to them.” (Read more from “Trump-Appointed SCOTUS Judges Side With Liberals in Computer Fraud Case” HERE)

DISTURBING REPORT: U.S. Government Officials Encouraged COVID-19 Origin Cover-Up

A U.S. government official reportedly ordered his employees not to publicly acknowledge American connections to and funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), the site implicated in a potential lab-leak coronavirus origin theory.

Christopher Park did not want to open the “Pandora’s Box” of U.S. funding for gain-of-function research, according to a Thursday Vanity Fair report. The U.S. government indirectly funded gain-of-function at WIV through grants to the nonprofit group EcoHealth Alliance. That funding was not subject to a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) review board that could have rejected the grant, because the sub-agency that awarded grants did not alert the review board.

Park, the director of the State Department’s Biological Policy Staff in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, reportedly told his employees not to say anything publicly in reference to that funding, an individual who attended the meeting where he gave his order reportedly told Vanity Fair. The individual reportedly described his comments as “so nakedly against transparency” as to be “shocking and disturbing.”

Park’s comments “smelled like a cover-up,” according to Thomas DiNanno, former acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance. Park had pushed for the U.S. to resume funding gain-of-function research in 2017, according to Vanity Fair. Scientists Extend Mice’s Lives by 23 Percent, Humans Could Be Next

Israeli scientists have found a way to increase the life expectancy of mice by 23 percent, in groundbreaking research that they hope to replicate in humans — who could then reach an average age of 120 years old.

The researchers boosted the life expectancy of 250 rodents by increasing the supply of SIRT6, a protein that normally wanes in the aging process, the Times of Israel reported.

In the peer-reviewed research published in the journal Nature Communications, the scientists also said the protein-enriched animals were less prone to cancer.

“The change in life expectancy is significant when you consider that an equivalent jump in human life expectancy would have us living on average until almost 120,” Prof. Haim Cohen of Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan told the news outlet.

Conservative Journalist Reveals Attack in Portland: ‘Antifa Tried To Kill Me’ (VIDEO)

Journalist Andy Ngo said he was recently chased and beaten in the streets of Portland while he was covering protests in Portland, Oregon.

“No journalist in America should ever face violence for doing his or her job,” Ngo said in a statement released on Wednesday night. “Yet on Friday, May 28, Antifa tried to kill me again while I was reporting on the ongoing protests and riots in Portland, Ore. for a new chapter of my book, ‘Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy.'”

“I was chased, attacked and beaten by a masked mob, baying for my blood,” Ngo wrote on Twitter. “Had I not been able to shelter wounded and bleeding inside a hotel while they beat the doors and windows like animals, there is no doubt in my mind I would not be here today. Their words, like their actions, speak for themselves.” . . .

According to Ngo, an Antifa member became suspicious of him because he wasn’t engaging in criminal acts and throwing objects at police like the other members were. He began asking Ngo questions, but Andy did not respond. Ngo then walked away, but “a group of masked people in black followed and surrounded me.”

“As they interrogated me, one managed to pull off my mask and immediately yelled, ‘That’s Andy. Get him! Get him!’ As I sprinted through downtown Portland trying to flag down help, there was no visible police presence,” Ngo claimed. “One of the black-clad Antifa members tackled me to the ground in front of Pioneer Place Mall, punching my head and face repeatedly, while I pleaded for them not to kill me. All the time I could hear the angry cries and footsteps of the mob approaching.”

Illegal Immigration Crisis: Texas Governor Issues Disaster Declaration, Vows To Protect Border

The crisis at the border continues to worsen, with the U.S. Border Patrol recently releasing some shocking statistics that illuminate just how bad the situation has become. But Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) is doing everything he can to prevent any additional unlawful crossings into the Lone Star State.

Abbott joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to describe recent action he has taken to ensure that those who do cross into Texas illegally know they came to the “wrong state.”

After noting that both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “have completely abandoned post as it concerns the Texas border,” Abbott explained how “Texas is stepping up” to combat the flood of dangerous gangs and cartels, human traffickers and drugs pouring into border communities.

“Beginning in March, I deployed a thousand Texas Department of Public Safety officers to the border. I deployed the National Guard to the border. And they made well over a thousand arrests of some of these criminals we talked about. They’ve apprehended more than 33,000 illegal immigrants coming across the border.” Abbott said. “But because of the way the Biden administration has abandoned the border, we are now elevating our game. What I did yesterday, in response to more than a dozen counties along the border … I granted their request for a disaster declaration,” he added. Why Mike Lindell Thinks Donald Trump Will Return as President in August

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is continuing to push the claim that Donald Trump will return as president in August, saying there is a “clear path” for him back to the White House.

Lindell told Steve Bannon’s War Room: Pandemic show that his lawyers confirmed to him that there is a route via Supreme Court rulings, as well as “two other bonus pathways” resulting from the disputed and partisan audit in Arizona and a similar recount called for by GOP lawmakers in Pennsylvania.

“They’re gonna all come crumbling down like a house of cards,” Lindell said, repeating Trump supporters’ hopes that any proof of election fraud in Arizona—which has still not been found after several weeks—will result in a Domino effect that will change the outcome of the entire election.

Speaking to Bannon, Lindell claimed that once his evidence is presented to the Supreme Court, the judges will be so impressed that it will rule 9-0 in favor of returning Trump to the presidency and setting a new inauguration date. Quarter of Americans Think China Intentionally Released COVID-19

Recent reports have revealed that several researchers from the Wuhan, China, lab developing coronaviruses were hospitalized with symptoms of COVID-19 weeks before the pandemic that was unleashed on the world became known. . .

Further, legacy media outlets that for more than a year claimed suggestions the Wuhan lab was the source of the virus were conspiracy theories have flip-flopped, now saying that is a credible idea.

Now a YouGove poll shows most Americans are convinced the coronavirus originated in that lab, and are rejecting the World Health Organization’s assertion that it came from natural transmission from bats to humans.

“Most Americans (58%) now put the origins of COVID-19 in a Chinese laboratory — up from 49% when YouGov first asked this question in May 2020. Two in five Democrats (43%) believe it’s probably true the virus had a laboratory beginning, a 10-point increase since last year (33%). Two-thirds of Independents (65%) now think the coronavirus originated from a laboratory in China, up 17 points from last year,” the new poll documented. . .

Trump Family Member Denies Reports Former President Expects To Be Reinstated by Summer

Lara Trump is pouring cold water on recent reports that Donald Trump, her father-in-law, expects to be back in the Oval Office later this summer.

“As far as I know, there are no plans for Donald Trump to be back in the White House in August,” Lara Trump told Fox & Friends on Thursday morning.

She continued: “Maybe there’s something I don’t know…but no. I think that is a lot of folks getting a little worked up about something just because maybe there wasn’t enough pushback from the Republican side. So no, I have not heard any plans for Donald Trump to be installed in the White House in August.”

Her remarks come after New York Times Washington correspondent Maggie Haberman reported in a series of Twitter posts that the former president is telling “a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated” by the summer’s end. Government’s Paycheck Protection Program Bails Out Billionaire George Soros

A distinguished senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute has unleashed his criticism of the government’s Paycheck Protection Program for bailing out billionaire George Soros’ East-West Management Institute, with payments totaling nearly half a million dollars.

That’s while the organization’s federal grants and contracts, its primary source of income, were rising from $9 million in Fiscal Year 2019 to nearly $15 million in 2020.

The comments come from Chris Farrell, in an article at Gatestone.

He noted that in March the Small Business Administration gave a $234,548 “loan” to EWMI. He reported that followed a $226,179 PPP “loan” a year earlier.

“The official description of the transaction is ‘to aid small businesses in maintaining workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic,’ but federal grants and contracts to EWMI (its primary source of revenue) rose from $9,185,194 in FY 2019 to $14,859,293 in 2020,” he explained. Fauci Was Told Early on That Wuhan Coronavirus Looked ‘Engineered’

New emails obtained by Buzzfeed through a Freedom of Information Act show National Institute of Health Director Dr. Anthony Fauci was told by NIH scientist Kristian Andersen on January 31, 2020 that Wuhan coronavirus looked “potentially engineered.” In other words, it was manipulated in a lab through gain of function research.

“On a phylogenetic tree the virus looks totally normal and the close clustering with bats suggest that bats serve as the reservoir. The unusual features of the virus make up a really small part of the genome (<0.1%) so one has to look really closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features (potentially) look engineered," Andersen said. And yet, that's not what he said publicly as he rejected the possibility of a lab leak in interviews, during testimony to Congress and during official White House Task Force briefings. On April 18, 2020, three months after being told the virus looked engineered, Fauci told reporters at the White House, unequivocally, it didn't come from a lab. Most of the media then reported his remarks as "debunking" a conspiracy theory. "Mr. President, I wanted to ask Dr. Fauci: Could you address these suggestions or concerns that this virus was somehow manmade, possibly came out of a laboratory in China?" Fauci was asked by a reporter.
