Dave Chappelle Mocks Efforts To Get Him and His New Netflix Special Canceled

The 48-year-old performer took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Thursday night for a screening of his documentary. The sold-out crowd also watched performances by Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Jon Hamm, Nas, Lizzo, poet Amir Sulaiman, Jeff Rose, Talib Kweli and more.

Speaking to the roughly 18,000 people in the crowd while wearing sneakers and a suit, Chappelle touched on the fact that a number of individuals and groups are calling for “The Closer” to be pulled from the streamer because of alleged transphobic comments he made in it, Deadline reports.

“If this is what being cancelled is about, I love it,” Chappelle said to hoots and hollering from fans in attendance, per the outlet.

He added: “I don’t know what to tell you, except I’m a bad motherf—er.” (Read more from “Dave Chappelle Mocks Efforts To Get Him and His New Netflix Special Canceled” HERE)

Devastating Blast: ISIS Claims Responsibility for Afghan Mosque Attack That Killed at Least 46

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack that left at least 46 people killed and dozens more wounded in Afghanistan on Friday at a Shiite mosque in the city of Kunduz.

The group claimed responsibility for the blast at the Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque on its Telegram channels, according to Reuters, which reported the number of people killed as 46, with more than 140 wounded.

Agence France-Presse said at least 55 people were killed in the bloodiest assault in the war-torn country since US and NATO forces pulled out after the Taliban took control in August.

Graphic footage showed bloodied bodies surrounded by debris inside the mosque that was used by people from the minority Shiite Muslim community.

“This afternoon, an explosion took place in a mosque of our Shiite compatriots … as a result of which a number of our compatriots were martyred and wounded,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Twitter. Nearly 200,000 COVID Tests Have Been Recalled Due to False Results

Ellume is recalling nearly 200,000 rapid at-home COVID-19 antigen tests out of concerns over an abnormally high rate of false positives observed from certain lots of its tests.

Roughly 427,000 test kits, including thousands sent to retailers and some provided to the Department of Defense, have been impacted by the issue.

About 195,000 of these kits are still unused and subject to the recall. About 202,000 have already been used, the company said. Of those, there have been around 42,000 positive results, of which as many as a quarter of those positives could have been inaccurate. However, the company said it’s difficult to determine an exact ratio.

Ellume is removing the affected product from store shelves and said distributors should cease distribution and quarantine those products immediately.

This recall yanks hundreds of thousands of rapid COVID-19 tests off the shelves at a time when demand for these tests has already skyrocketed. Amid shortages, many of the major retail pharmacy stores announced they are limiting purchases to contend with supply constraints. Looks Like We Have Another Biden Family Adventure That Involves China

. . .The Bidens have been able to get away with all their shady deeds. Hunter’s laptop was also real and not Russian disinformation, which the liberal media took hook, line, and sinker. When all these deals were revealed, the Biden family line was that “we did nothing wrong, but we’ll never do it again.”

That doesn’t sound odd, right? Nope. The media just had to boot Trump. So, all of this was ignored. Again, the latest development with the Bidens’ China adventures isn’t as notable, but it’s the pattern of behavior here (via Fox News):

President Biden’s brother-in-law, John Owens, reached out to Hunter Biden in 2014 for help in securing a business license to expand his telemedicine company in China, saying it needed to be “secured very quickly,” according to emails obtained by Fox News.

Owens, who goes by Jack, emailed Hunter Biden on May 9, 2014, informing him that his companies, MediGuide America and MediGuide Insurance Services International (MISI), reached a “serious stage” in negotiations with a China-based insurance company, but said he won’t be able to “seal this deal” without a “Chinese Business License.”

[…]

Owens continued by saying he would be “most appreciative of any help.” Hunter Biden replied less than a hour later and said, “Working on it-back to you ASAP.” The younger Biden then forwarded Owens’ email to Thornton Group Chairman James Bulger, the nephew of mobster Whitey Bulger and co-founder of the Thornton Group.

The Majority Of Americans Think Misinformation Is A Problem. Here’s Who They Blame The Most

The majority of Americans believe U.S. politicians and social media companies spread more misinformation than any foreign government, including adversaries like China and Russia, according to a new poll.

The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, released Friday, found that about 75% of Americans believed politicians in the U.S., social media companies and social media users are the biggest drivers of misinformation. Just under half of respondents, however, thought that the U.S. government was responsible for misinformation, while just over half said the same for Russia and China.

Who to blame differed among Democrats and Republicans, according to an AP-NORC summary, with Republicans being nearly twice as likely as Democrats to blame the U.S. government for misinformation. Older Americans were also more likely to blame foreign governments than younger Americans. (Read more from “The Majority of Americans Think Misinformation Is a Problem. NYT Falsely States That 900,000 U.S. Children Have Been Hospitalized From COVID

The New York Times was forced to issue multiple, major corrections for an article published on Wednesday that falsely claimed 900,000 children had been hospitalized for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The full correction reads:

An earlier version of this article incorrectly described actions taken by regulators in Sweden and Denmark. They have halted use of the Moderna vaccine in children; they have not begun offering single doses. The article also misstated the number of Covid hospitalizations in U.S. children. It is more than 63,000 from August 2020 to October 2021, not 900,000 since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, the article misstated the timing of an F.D.A. meeting on authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children. It is later this month, not next week.

The headline and subhead still mention single-dose vaccines for children, but that only refers to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

And while the Times article discusses how other countries are trying to balance the risks of vaccinating children, it notes that the U.S. is doing things differently. One infectious diseases physician told the outlet that “We’ve had a significant impact on our pediatric population.” This is when the Times originally claimed 900,000 children had been hospitalized during the pandemic. The article now says 63,000 children were hospitalized between August 2020 and October 2021. It also states that 520 children have died due to COVID-19, without noting how small a fraction that is compared to the hundreds of thousands of adults who have died during the pandemic or noting the low likelihood children have of getting COVID.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Won’t Enforce Vaccine Mandate

The Los Angeles County sheriff says he will not enforce the county’s vaccine mandate in his agency.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who oversees the largest sheriff’s department in the county with roughly 18,000 employees, said Thursday in a Facebook Live event that he does not plan to carry out the county’s mandate, under which Los Angeles County employees had to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 1.

The mandate was issued by executive order in August and allows only for religious and medical exemptions. Villanueva said his employees are willing to be terminated rather than get vaccinated.

“I don’t want to be in a position to lose 5, 10% of my workforce overnight on a vaccine mandate,” the sheriff said. (Read more from “Los Angeles County Sheriff Won’t Enforce Vaccine Mandate” HERE)

White House Defends Biden’s ‘Renewed’ Cough

The White House said Friday that President Joe Biden’s renewed cough is the result of “allergies.”

“He’s doing great. He’s got some allergies,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said as she left the daily press briefing and a reporter shouted a question about the president’s health.

Biden appeared twice in front of reporters on Friday, speaking with a raspy voice, repeatedly clearing his throat, coughing, and wiping his nose. (Read more from “White House Defends Biden’s ‘Renewed’ Cough” HERE)

Ill-Advised? Biden Brags About Pressuring Hospital To Fast-Track ‘Good Friend’ in ER

President Joe Biden said Thursday he personally reached out to a hospital the night before to ensure the wife of his “good friend” received immediate care because the “waiting room was so crowded.”

“Last night, I was on the telephone with a person at an emergency hospital ward in Pennsylvania because a good friend had called, and he had rushed his significant other to the emergency room because this woman was having trouble breathing, had a high fever, and could not catch her breath,” Biden said during a speech in Illinois promoting COVID-19 vaccine mandates for businesses. “They got her into the hospital. The waiting room was so crowded, things were so backed up they couldn’t even get her to be seen initially. So, because I knew this person, I called. I called the desk receiving nurse and asked what the situation was.”

“To make long story short, it took a while because all of the – not all – the vast majority of the emergency rooms and docs were occupied taking care of COVID patients,” Biden added. “I bet every one of you can name somebody who got sent to the hospital with something other than COVID and couldn’t get it taken care of.”

Biden said that he “wasn’t complaining” when he made the phone call because doctors and nurses working in overcrowded hospitals are “getting the living hell kicked out of them, sometimes physically.” (Read more from “Ill-Advised? Report: U.S. Special Operators Secretly Trained Taiwanese Forces

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Thursday quoted unnamed “officials” who said a contingent of about two dozen U.S. special operations and support troops have been deployed to Taiwan for at least a year to train their Taiwanese counterparts. The report drew a terse response from China, which objects strenuously to any number of American soldiers being stationed in Taiwan.

According to the WSJ, the clandestine training has included U.S. Marines teaching the Taiwanese small-boat combat tactics.

The officials quoted in the report described the training mission as “a small but symbolic effort by the U.S. to increase Taipei’s confidence in building its defenses against potential Chinese aggression,” with an eye toward teaching the Taiwanese how to take fullest advantage of simple and easily protected equipment that might not be targeted for immediate destruction in the event of a Chinese invasion.

The WSJ noted that Asian media has occasionally printed unconfirmed reports of U.S. Marines operating in Taiwan, and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations Christopher Maier told the Senate Armed Services Committee that a special operations training force should be deployed to Taiwan, without mentioning that one might already be there.
