Landmark Anti-lab Leak Paper Was Covertly Influenced by Compromised Scientists

One of the most influential papers arguing against the COVID-19 lab-leak theory was covertly crafted by three scientists with substantial histories of conducting gain-of-function research, an investigation by U.S. Right To Know revealed.

The paper in question, “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” was published in March 2020 in “Nature Medicine” by five notable researchers specializing in microbiology, immunology and infectious diseases. Three individuals who were not listed as authors — Dr. Marion Koopmans, Dr. Ron Fouchier and Dr. Christian Drosten — were significant influences on its contents, according to USRTK.

Koopmans, Fouchier and Drosten all have glaring conflicts of interest that call into question their ability to be impartial regarding the possibility that a lab accident released a genetically engineered virus that went on to cause the global pandemic. Koopmans is the head of virology at the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands, and Fouchier is her deputy. Erasmus is a collaborator with EcoHealth Alliance, a now-infamous non-profit responsible for funneling U.S. taxpayer money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to Science.

As for Drosten, he conducts gain-of-function (GoF) research funded by the German government. GoF research involves genetically modifying pathogens to make them more dangerous by enhancing their infectiousness or lethality. Nevada County Confirms Livestream Video of Vote-Count Areas Went Dark for 8 Hours

County officials in Nevada over the weekend confirmed that cameras live-streaming vote-counting areas on Wednesday night and Thursday morning went dark for a total of eight hours.

“We know that our election livestream cameras went dark overnight. We investigated what happened and how to prevent it happening again,” Washoe County’s Twitter account posted Thursday afternoon.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral, racking up thousands of reactions, which included questions concerning election integrity.

“The livestream computer application lost connection with the courtesy cameras at 11:24 p.m. the evening of November 9,” the county said on its website. “All staff had left for the night about 60 minutes earlier and did not arrive back at the office until 7 a.m. Connection was restored at 7:53 a.m. the morning of November 10.”

“The courtesy cameras are connected to a computer application designed for livestream events,” the county site continued. “They intermittently lose connection with the application. When this has happened before, such as on Election Night when one camera went dark, staff was able to see the disruption and restore it.” (Read more from “Nevada County Confirms Livestream Video of Vote-Count Areas Went Dark for 8 Hours” HERE)

Sports Star Says ‘God Created Adam and Eve,’ All Hell Breaks Loose

A retired soccer star whose opinions about gender, based on biblical standards, appeared on social media has been given a suspended 10-month jail term for believing that men are men and women are women, as God created them.

The abuse by the justice system in Greece of retired football legend Vassilis Tsiartas has been profiled in a column by Ben Johnson at Washington Stand.

The report explains Tsiartas also was given a fine, suspended, for being “transphobic.”

His comments on social media came in his opposition to a law that would have lowered the age in that nation to legally change one’s gender to 15.

He initially responded, “I hope that the first sex changes will be made to the children of those who voted for this abomination,” and he suggested lawmakers there may as well “legalize pedophiles and complete their crimes” against nature. Man Arrested for Joking About COVID

A Louisiana man is fighting in court for the First Amendment right to express satire after he made a joke about COVID-19, and was arrested by a sheriff’s armed SWAT team that confronted him with guns drawn. . .

He had posted a joke online comparing the COVID-19 pandemic to a zombie apocalypse, and his Facebook friends all got the comedy.

But his post, using some pretty flamboyant language and references to the Brad Pitt zombie movie “World War Z,” also drew the attention of the local sheriff’s office.

His joke was that the sheriff’s officers had been ordered to shoot the “infected.”

The institute explained what followed: “Waylon was taken to jail and booked, but the absurd charge was dropped when a prosecutor reviewed the case. The arrest was plainly an overreaction and trampled Waylon’s free speech rights, but when Waylon brought a civil-rights lawsuit, the deputy responsible for the arrest was granted qualified immunity. To add insult to injury, the court also said that Waylon didn’t have any free speech rights to make a joke in the first place. Now, Waylon is appealing this decision with the help of the Institute for Justice (IJ), which defends First Amendment rights and challenges immunity doctrines nationwide.” (Read more from “Man Arrested for Joking About COVID” HERE)

Inciting Violence? Elizabeth Warren Attacks Republicans in Scathing Op-Ed, Urging Democrats to Get ‘Aggressive’

In an op-ed published by the New York Times, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is calling on her party to get “aggressive” towards Republicans after a disappointing senate race for the GOP.

Warren hyped up the “achievements” Democrats have made under President Joe Biden’s time in office, claiming that “voters rewarded Democrats for protecting the lives and livelihoods [of Americans.]”

The Democrat believed that her party has done a lot for the well-being of the country, promising to not let Republicans get in the way of their radical agenda.

“Where we can pursue legislative action, we should fight aggressively. When Republicans try to obstruct such action and the president can act by executive authority, he must,” Warren wrote, adding “Most of all, the Democrats should be aggressive in putting Republicans on the defensive, pressing hard on why they are blocking much-needed initiatives to help Americans.”

Warren claimed that if Republicans gain control of the House, they will attempt to take the economy hostage, voting against helping middle-class families. (Read more from “Inciting Violence? Elizabeth Warren Attacks Republicans in Scathing Op-Ed, Urging Democrats to Get ‘Aggressive'” HERE)

Trump-Supporters Are Changing Their Minds on Who They Want to Run In 2024

There’s is no denying it: Former President Trump has a following. . .

However, a change is brewing among Republicans as the midterm elections didn’t bring a red wave as they had hoped, blaming Trump’s involvement in key candidate races.

According to a new YouGov poll, the majority of Republicans want Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) to be the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee.

42 percent of voters would rather see DeSantis on the ballot compared to 35 percent who would prefer Trump.

“More Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents now say they’d prefer DeSantis (42%) as their 2024 presidential nominee over Trump than say they’d prefer Trump to DeSantis (35%)… that’s a reversal from nearly a month ago, when — according to a Yahoo News/YouGov poll of U.S. adults — just 35% preferred DeSantis and 45% said they preferred Trump,” the survey stated. Pelosi Says Biden Should Run In 2024 – ‘He Has Been a Great President’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that she fully supports President Joe Biden should he run for reelection in 2024.

Anchor George Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think President Biden should run again?”

Pelosi said, “Yes, I do. President Biden has been a great president for our country. He has accomplished so much. Over 10 million jobs under his leadership, working with the private sector, of course. He has just done so many things that are so great we would need a lot more show to talk about it. He’s put money in people’s pockets, vaccines in their arms, children back to school, people back to work, for starters, creating 10 million jobs. He’s made America independent by passing the CHIPS bill, that says we’re no longer reliant on those who withhold products that enable us to manufacture in our country.” (Read more from “Pelosi Says Biden Should Run In 2024 – ‘He Has Been a Great President’” HERE)

Church Attendance Still Not Back to Pre-COVID Lockdown Levels: Survey

Churches in the United States are struggling to return to attendance levels seen prior to COVID lockdowns shutting their doors and forcing online services, according to a new Lifeway Research poll.

The survey, released last week, was conducted with 1,000 Protestant pastors from September 6-30 from a random sample of Protestant churches. The survey revealed that despite churches failing to return to pre-lockdown levels, the majority had resumed in-person worship services.

“While there are a handful of exceptions, we can definitively say that churches in the U.S. have reopened,” said Lifeway Research executive director Scott McConnell. “While masks began to rapidly disappear in many settings in 2022, churchgoers have not reappeared quite as fast.”

Nearly 100% of churches met in person in August 2022, according to the report. That number is up from 75% in July 2020 and 98% in August of last year. In April 2020, around the time the lockdowns began in the United States, the number of churches meeting in person dropped as low as 10%, according to Lifeway Research.
