Cougar Kills Biker in Rare Attack

By The New York Times. Two friends riding their bikes in a mountainous, wooded area of Washington State on Saturday morning were attacked by a cougar, which killed one of them in the state’s first such fatality in more than 90 years, officials said.

The authorities said the two cyclists saw the cougar, a 100-pound male, in pursuit and one of them screamed. They stopped, got off their bikes and made noise to ward it off as people in such situations are advised to do, the authorities said. . .

But as they were about to pedal away, the cougar returned, Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the King County Sheriff’s Office said. It jumped on Isaac M. Sederbaum, putting its mouth around his head and shaking him. It released him and chased after the other cyclist, who had started to run. The authorities identified that cyclist as Sonja J. Brooks. State Orders Pathology Tests on Cougar That Attacked Bicyclists

By The Seattle Times. The state’s Department of Fish & Wildlife will have “an independent, third-party” forensic necropsy conducted on a cougar that attacked a pair of bicyclists near North Bend on Saturday, killing one person and mauling the other.

The independent review is a nod by the state to the politicized world of cougars, one of the state’s largest and most successful predators, despised by ranchers and defended by conservationists . . .

The 3-year-old cougar killed S.J. Brooks, 32, of Seattle, and injured friend Isaac Sederbaum, 31, also of Seattle, on a remote, dirt road northeast of Snoqualmie . . .

Parents Take 30-Year-Old Freeloading Son to Supreme Court Because He Won’t Leave Their Home

Mark and Christina Rotondo say their unemployed son, Michael Rotondo, does not pay rent and does not help out around the house and they want him out — they have even offered him cash to leave . . .

The Rotondo’s have issued five notices of eviction and now have a case before the New York state Supreme Court, Fox News reported. Which means the parents have been denied in lower courts.

Michael Rotondo contends that the five written notices did not provide him with a reasonable amount of time to vacate, citing a previous case as precedent “that there is a Common law requirement of six-month notice to quit before tenant may be removed through ejectment action.”

Incredulous Parents Are Furious After School Holds a Moment of Silence for Hamas Terrorists

New York City parents are furious over a school’s call for students to observe a moment of silence in honor of Palestinians who died in Gaza border clashes.

The Beacon School in Manhattan came under fire for the tribute to victims of protests organized by Hamas in which more than 60 were killed by Israeli forces last week during clashes. The terrorist group saw 50 members killed in the border violence.

“I am extremely upset because I did not send my child to a New York City public school to pray for Hamas operatives,” one Jewish parent told the New York Post. . .

“As a Jewish student, I could see a lot of my Jewish friends get very weird when the moment of silence started,” student Sophie Steinberg said. “I think that’s Beacon’s nature — to not be divisive but to bring up the things that no one wants to talk about.”

“I just don’t think any school should be promoting a moment of silence for terrorists. FBI Reviewing Claims Against ‘Head-Twisting’ Abortionist

Allegations against a Texas abortionist by former employees that he killed infants who survived abortion by “slashing or twisting their necks” are being reviewed by the FBI, says a new report.

It was some six years ago that the pro-life activists at Operation Rescue released a report that included graphic images of dead victims and comments from former workers for Douglas Karpen.

They claimed he performed “illegal late-term abortions,” providing evidence “in the form of photos taken on their cell phones” at Karpen’s Houston abortion business. . .

Operation Rescue said it “later learned that grand jury was tainted by improper communications between then-District Attorney Devon Anderson and Karpen’s criminal defense attorney Chip Lewis, who were close family friends.” . . .

“The letter I received from the Department of Justice is encouraging. The photos depict wounds inflicted on those babies that could not have been done inside the womb. Robots Can Now Grow Human Organs

An automated system that uses robots has been designed to rapidly produce human mini-organs derived from stem cells. Researchers at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle developed the new system.

The advance promises to greatly expand the use of mini-organs in basic research and drug discovery, according to Benjamin Freedman, assistant professor of medicine, Division of Nephrology, at the UW School of Medicine, who led the research effort.

“This is a new ‘secret weapon’ in our fight against disease,’ said Freedman, who is a scientist at the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, as well as at the Kidney Research Institute, a collaboration between the Northwest Kidney Centers and UW Medicine.

A report describing the new technique will be published online May 17 in the journal Cell Stem Cell. The lead authors were research scientists Stefan Czerniecki, and Nelly Cruz from the Freedman lab, and Dr. Jennifer Harder, assistant professor of internal medicine, Division of Nephrology at the University of Michigan School of Medicine, where she is a kidney disease specialist.

The traditional way to grow cells for biomedical research, Freeman explained, is to culture them as flat, two-dimensional sheets, which are overly simplistic. In recent years, researchers have been increasingly successful in growing stem cells into more complex, three-dimensional structures called mini-organs or organoids. These resemble rudimentary organs and in many ways behave similarly. While these properties make organoids ideal for biomedical research, they also pose a challenge for mass production. Judicial Watch: Obama Can Still Be Impeached

If Congress is considering impeachment charges related to the 2016 election, they should center not on President Trump but on former President Obama “and his Nixonian use of various agencies to target candidate Trump,” contends Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. . .

The Judicial Watch chief was referring to the operation codenamed “Crossfire Hurricane,” reported May 16 by the New York Times, which had at least one “government informant” in the Trump campaign who met several times with campaign volunteers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. . .

He noted the Jan. 6, 2017, meeting at Trump Tower in which then-FBI director James Comey informed Trump of the “salacious and unverified” allegation in the Steele dossier of an incident with prostitutes at a Moscow hotel. Trump later said he thought Comey was trying to blackmail him. Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, Fitton pointed out, later wrote a “CYA” email after a Jan. 5, 2017, to memorialized an Oval Office meeting she attended with Obama and Comey in which they discussed confronting Trump the next day with the dossier information. . .

Fitton pointed out that the White House won’t be subject to public-records disclosure for years, but Congress can obtain them, and the president has authority to release the records as well. . .

The history professor, Murphy, said that while a former president could be impeached, he views a “lengthy and contentious impeachment process” as a waste of time, because any impeachment proceeding would necessarily involve federal crimes that could be more easily prosecuted through the criminal justice system. Passenger Intentionally Urinates on Seat During Flight

By CBS News. Frontier Airlines says they are aware of a recent situation aboard a flight from Denver to South Carolina in which a passenger allegedly urinated on the passenger’s seat in front of him.

According to another passenger on the flight, the man, later identified in FBI documents as Michael Allen Haag, urinated on the seat in front of hers after being kicked out of his previous seat for inappropriate behavior.

The FBI told CBS4 that Haag has a Boulder address listed as his residence.

The passenger told CBS4’s Dillon Thomas she was sitting in the same row as Haag, across the aisle, when he unbuckled his seat belt and urinated on the back of the chair.

The woman said Haag was moved to the row she was in after he allegedly verbally and physically assaulted two other women near his previous seat. She also said Haag allegedly touched one sleeping female passenger and later asked another woman about her sexual and marital life. Suspected Urinating Passenger Identified as Boulder Man

By CBS News. The man who allegedly urinated on a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to South Carolina has been identified. . .

The witness says Haag was moved to the row she was in after he allegedly verbally and physically assaulted the women. She also said Haag allegedly touched one sleeping female passenger and later asked another woman about her sexual and marital life. . .

In a statement to CBS4’s Dillon Thomas, Frontier Airlines spokesman Richard Oliver said,

The safety and security of our passengers is our top priority at Frontier. We have been made aware of this situation and are working with the appropriate authorities.

Constitution Party Scores Incredible Victory in North Carolina; Focused on Wisconsin, Next

In a historic first, the Constitution Party effort to gain ballot access in North Carolina exceeded the required number of registered voter signatures to qualify for ballot access in 2018 and 2020. News of the Constitution Party’s success was picked up by major media, including US News and World Report, a leading newspaper in Raleigh, other papers, and radio.

Before North Carolina, the Constitution Party also added Hawaii to the states it has ballot access in. These recent efforts have brought more publicity to the national party than any other activity undertaken in an off-year election. Why? The public is starting to understand that the Constitution Party is serious about building a viable political party.

What North Carolina’s Constitution Party accomplished is nothing short of amazing. In all, volunteers turned into the county clerks a total of over 16,300 signatures. Of that number, 15,938 have been processed to-date and 12,537 have been determined as valid. That’s validity rate of 78.6%, a remarkable accomplishment. With its submission, Constitution Party has a significant cushion – well-over 600 signatures – beyond what state law requires. And all of this was accomplished in less than five months.

This is the first time ever that the Constitution Party has qualified for ballot access in North Carolina. When the Constitution Party’s efforts began this past December, most observers thought qualification would be impossible. They were wrong.

The Constitution Party is next focusing on Wisconsin. Although the party already has ballot access in that state, it must run at least one statewide candidate this year who then acquires at least one percent of the vote. There are at least two potential candidates who wish to run under the Constitution Party banner but, in order for them to run, each candidate must first collect the signatures of 2,000 Wisconsin residents who are at least 18 years old. Importantly, state law does not require the signatories to be registered voters, they simply must be Wisconsin residents.

This is where you can help. If you are as disgusted as we are with the corrupt, fundamentally broken two party system, then help the two Wisconsin Constitution Party candidates get on the ballot. Andrew Zuelke is seeking the office of State Treasurer and Terry Larson is seeking the office of Attorney General. Each of them must submit their 2,000 signatures no later than June 1, less than two weeks away.

Consequently, if you live in Wisconsin or have like-minded family or friends in that state, please have them contact Mr. Zukelke at [email protected] or call him at 920-748-7296, immediately.

Again, if you are sick and tired of the failed political system, do something to restore leadership to, and confidence in, the Republic. Establishing a viable third party with ballot access may be the only way to confront the Oligarchs who own most of the elected leaders of both major political parties. Wisconsin is key. But if 2,000 signatures are not turned in by the first of June, the Constitution Party will lose ballot access there. So please act immediately if you want to save this country; time is of the essence.

Shock: High School Students Pull ‘Prank’ Mass Shooting at School

By The Daily Wire. School officials at a high school in Maryland are apologizing to parents after a group of senior students pulled a prank at the school simulating a mass shooting. The students behind it are now facing potential criminal charges.

WJLA reported that approximately 20 students participated in the prank on May 15. Clad in black masks ran into the school setting off firecrackers to simulate gunshots and then shot kids with squirt guns that were filled with various liquids.

Emily Birckhead, a student at the school, was injured by the fireworks, and sustained second-degree burns on her ear, adding that someone squirted her with vinegar and that she had heard that other people were squirted with urine.

Bowie High School Students in Black Masks Simulate School Shooting as a Senior Prank

By WJLA. . .The students face discipline and possible charges. The incident occurred in the high school’s main building, according to a letter from Bowie High School principal Robynne W. Prince.

“Around 10:45 a.m., a small group of students participated in an inappropriate “senior prank” that resulted in a school evacuation,” the letter in part reads. “The prank involved spraying students and staff with squirt guns and setting off fireworks in the hallway.”

Mommy Blogger Sees Disturbing Pedophile Message in New Movie ‘Show Dogs’

. . .Though virtually nobody will see “Show Dogs” while in theaters, in just a few months’ time, the movie will undoubtedly appear on people’s Netflix and Prime feeds, and parents will think it a safe hour and a half to occupy their kids’ attention. One mommy blogger, Terina Maldonado of Macaroni Kid, says to stay away, however, alleging the movie pushes a dangerous lesson about pedophilia.

“Show Dog” stars Will Arnett as an FBI agent named Frank forced into partnering with a talking dog named Max (voiced by Ludacris) to infiltrate a prestigious dog show in the hopes of rescuing a kidnapped panda. The dog show part is where Maldonado noticed something she found troubling:

As part of any dog show, contestants are judged on their abilities and physical attributes. One part, in particular, is the inspection of the dog’s private parts. Being that Max is new to competing, he needs to learn the process so his partner, Frank, along with a former show champion work to get him ready for the final round of the competition. Since the inspection of the private parts will happen in the finals, Frank touches Max’s private parts to get him use to it. Of course, Max doesn’t like it and snaps at Frank for him to stop. Max is then told by the former champion, who has been through the process before, that he needs to go to his ‘zen place’ while it happens so he can get through it. More attempts are made by Frank to touch Max’s private parts, but Max is still having trouble letting it happen and keeps snapping at him.

The day of the finals come and if Max doesn’t let his private parts be touched, he may lose the competition and any hope of finding the kidnapped panda. It all rests on his ability to let someone touch his private parts. The judge’s hands slowly reach behind Max and he goes to his ‘zen place.’ He’s flying through the sky, dancing with his partner, there are fireworks and flowers-everything is great-all while someone is touching his private parts.

While it is true that dogs have their genitals examined at every dog show, and it might even be fair to say the makers of “Show Dogs” were using that fact as an opportunity for (albeit immature) humor, Maldonado saw the scene as wildly disturbing for a kids movie, especially when considering the anthropomorphized nature of the character Max. In sum, the character is more than just a dog having his genitals touched, but a thinking, relatable children’s character having his genitals touched, which could teach children that such behavior is not only acceptable but playful.
