Doomsday Clock for Global Market Crash Strikes One Minute to Midnight as Central Banks Lose Control

snake-dance-illo_2764022bWhen the banking crisis crippled global markets seven years ago, central bankers stepped in as lenders of last resort. Profligate private-sector loans were moved on to the public-sector balance sheet and vast money-printing gave the global economy room to heal.

Time is now rapidly running out. From China to Brazil, the central banks have lost control and at the same time the global economy is grinding to a halt. It is only a matter of time before stock markets collapse under the weight of their lofty expectations and record valuations.

The FTSE 100 has now erased its gains for the year, but there are signs things could get a whole lot worse . . .

China was the great saviour of the world economy in 2008. The launching of an unprecedented stimulus package sparked an infrastructure investment boom. The voracious demand for commodities to fuel its construction boom dragged along oil- and resource-rich emerging markets.

The Chinese economy has now hit a brick wall. Economic growth has dipped below 7pc for the first time in a quarter of a century, according to official data. That probably means the real economy is far weaker. (Read more from “Doomsday Clock for Global Market Crash Strikes One Minute to Midnight as Central Banks Lose Control” HERE)

Watch: National Security Analyst Unloads on Hillary Over Email Scandal

Clinton_c0-259-4930-3132_s561x327By Jamie Weinstein. Hillary Clinton’s email scandal should disqualify her from the Oval Office.

At least so says former CIA operative and CNN national security analyst Bob Baer, who is not known for being a political partisan.

“If this was on her server and it got into her smart phone, there’s a big problem there,” Baer said during an appearance on CNN International Saturday, noting that the sensitivity of the information reportedly found on Clinton’s private server was likely more secret than what Edward Snowden pilfered.

“Seriously, if I had sent a document like this over the open Internet I’d get fired the same day, escorted to the door and gone for good — and probably charged with mishandling classified information,” Baer said. Number of Hillary Clinton’s Emails Flagged for Classified Data Has Grown to This Number

By John Solomon. While media coverage has focused on a half-dozen of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal emails containing sensitive intelligence, the total number of her private emails identified by an ongoing State Department review as having contained classified data has ballooned to 60, officials told The Washington Times.

That figure is current through the end of July and is likely to grow as officials wade through a total of 30,000 work-related emails that passed through her personal email server, officials said. The process is expected to take months.

The 60 emails are among those that have been reviewed and cleared for release under the Freedom of Information Act as part of a open-records lawsuit. Some of the emails have multiple redactions for classified information.

Among the first 60 flagged emails, nearly all contained classified secrets at the lowest level of “confidential” and one contained information at the intermediate level of “secret,” officials told the Times.

Those 60 emails do not include two emails identified in recent days by Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III as containing “top-secret” information possibly derived from Pentagon satellites, drones or intercepts, which is some of the nation’s most sensitive secrets. Here’s What’s Next up in America’s Experiment With Marriage

Wedding-Rings-7A recent Gallup poll shows growing support for polygamy in America. From 2006 to 2015 support for multiple marriage partners has jumped from 6 to 14 percent as more people think we should be able to marry whoever we want and however many we want — it is our right.

In writing his dissent of the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage across America, Chief Justice John Roberts warned that by changing the fundamental definition of marriage, the justices had opened the door to redefining other vital components of matrimony.

“It is striking how much of the majority’s reasoning would apply with equal force to the claim of a fundamental right to plural marriage,” the chief justice said.

In the future, one could imagine that those who oppose polygamy will be labeled bigots and accused of fanning flames of hatred. The dispute, however, isn’t really about bigotry but about the definition of marriage, which has long been understood as a partnership between a man and a woman, requiring sexual exclusivity and oriented to the birthing and rearing of children, even if children do not always result.

Polygamists, though, maintain that it makes no difference how many fathers or mothers comprise a family, so long as children are loved. But children are harmed because they are often set in perennial rivalry with other children and mothers for the affection and attention of the family patriarch. They are deprived of healthy models of authority and liberty, equality and charity, marital love and fidelity, which are essential to their development as future spouses, citizens and community leaders. There is a confusion about who is really caring for them, which mom or which dad. Ultimately if we believe in the definition of family which has one father and one mother then anything that opposes this God-created reality will negatively affect a child’s development.

Some may point out that the number of American polygamists is so small that changing the law won’t impact the wider culture or the vast majority who support traditional marriage.

So what real difference does it make when a society redefines marriage to fit a new cultural norm? Well it certainly impacts what is taught in schools and promoted and enforced by law.

One could imagine the day when vocal opposition to polygamy could result in legal penalties, including fines and even imprisonment just like we are now seeing happening to people whose faith affirms that marriage can only be between one man and one woman. The answer is to continue to affirm traditional beliefs about marriage and promote the conception of marriage that is best for society, children and married couples.

Ultimately marriage is not a private or even religious matter, nor is it a right to be won by the courts. In truth, marriage should be seen in its fundamental definition and purpose — which brings great benefits to society.

In this light it is the duty of the state to protect but not redefine marriage for it is not created by either the church or the state and neither has the right to change it.

Any government wishing to overturn the fundamental institution of marriage as the union of one man and one woman in lifelong unity to protect and promote the nurturing of children should not be surprised if it receives an impassioned response from society. But will it? This depends on us. The threat to marriage is real. (Re-posted with permission, “Here’s What’s Next up in America’s Experiment With Marriage” originally appeared HERE)

Why Is the Police Shooting of Unarmed White Driver Getting Less Publicity Than Other Recent Police Shootings?

downloadTo Zachary Hammond’s supporters, the shooting death of the 19-year-old man was yet another example of questionable police behavior that has shaken communities around the country.

In their view, the police in Seneca, S.C., falsely claimed Mr. Hammond was shot last month as he tried to drive his car over the officer who fired on him, when his wounds show he was actually shot from the side and back.

They also say the deadly confrontation, in which officers approached with their guns drawn and screaming profanities, evolved from an absurd sting effort to trap his date into selling a tiny amount of marijuana, a drug now decriminalized in much of the country.

Yet the case has not received as much attention as the officer-involved shooting deaths of Walter L. Scott in North Charleston, S.C., or Samuel DuBose, a motorist who was killed in Cincinnati. Like both of those men, Mr. Hammond was apparently unarmed.

Unlike them, he was white. And his family’s attorney, Eric Bland, contends that is why most people have never heard of Mr. Hammond. (Read more from “Why Is the Police Shooting of an Unarmed White Driver Getting Less Publicity Than Other Recent Police Shootings?” HERE)

Despite White House Lobbying, Senator Flake Opposes Iran Nuclear Deal

Flake speaks to reporters as Udall listens during a news conference in HavanaU.S. Senator Jeff Flake announced his opposition on Saturday to the nuclear deal with Iran despite White House lobbying to try to convince the Arizona Republican to break from others in his party and back the accord when U.S. lawmakers vote on it.

The agreement that Iran reached with the United States and other world powers on July 14 “does contain benefits in terms of limiting Iran’s ability to produce sufficient fissile material for a nuclear weapon for a period of time, particularly at its known nuclear facilities,” Flake said in a statement.

“But these benefits are outweighed by severe limitations the (agreement) places on Congress and future administrations in responding to Iran’s non-nuclear behavior in the region,” Flake added.

The White House had held out some hope that Flake, a Senate Foreign Relations Committee member, would buck his party and possibly bring some other Republicans with him in support of the agreement.

Flake was the only Republican lawmaker who traveled with President Barack Obama to Africa in July. White House officials lobbied him during that trip to support the deal. Flake had backed Obama’s moves on another important foreign policy initiative, establishing warmer relations with Cuba. Army Skydivers Returning to Base After Members Tragic Death

article-2530713-1A536AB900000578-386_634x526Members of a U.S. Army skydiving team will return to their base where they will have access to counseling after a parachutist from their unit died from injuries suffered during a stunt at the Chicago Air & Water Show, a spokeswoman for the group said.

The Golden Knights demonstration team has been put on a “safety stand down” after the death of Sgt. 1st Class Corey Hood, spokeswoman Donna Dixon said Sunday. The group will head to Fort Bragg in North Carolina, where they can meet with chaplains as the Army works to ensure everyone is mentally and physically fit to continue with the show season, she said. The team’s performance schedule could be affected.

Hood, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A day earlier, he collided in midair with a member of the Navy’s precision skydiving team during the event along Chicago’s Lake Michigan shoreline. Obama Administration Warns Beijing About Covert Agents Operating in U.S.

17AGENTS-master675The Obama administration has delivered a warning to Beijing about the presence of Chinese government agents operating secretly in the United States to pressure prominent expatriates — some wanted in China on charges of corruption — to return home immediately, according to American officials.

The American officials said that Chinese law enforcement agents covertly in this country are part of Beijing’s global campaign to hunt down and repatriate Chinese fugitives and, in some cases, recover allegedly ill-gotten gains . . .

The American warning, which was delivered to Chinese officials in recent weeks and demanded a halt to the activities, reflects escalating anger in Washington about intimidation tactics used by the agents. And it comes at a time of growing tension between Washington and Beijing on a number of issues: from the computer theft of millions of government personnel files that American officials suspect was directed by China, to China’s crackdown on civil liberties, to the devaluation of its currency.

Those tensions are expected to complicate the state visit to Washington next month by Xi Jinping, the Chinese president.

The work of the agents is a departure from the routine practice of secret government intelligence gathering that the United States and China have carried out on each other’s soil for decades. The Central Intelligence Agency has a cadre of spies in China, just as China has long deployed its own intelligence operatives into the United States to steal political, economic, military and industrial secrets. CLINTON CRIME FAMILY COMICS: Hillary’s 5 Funniest Email Lies

New York, Hillary Rodham ClintonAnother instant classic by our long-suffering summer intern @BiffSpackle, based upon an editorial by The New York Post:

150816-clinton-crime-comix-5-funniest-lies

On Fox News the other day, blogger and counterterror analyst John Schindler explained the ramifications of Clinton’s actions.

And if Vegas had a line on it, my guess is that longtime aides Huma Abedin and/or Cheryl Mills illegally removed the classification markings from the emails destined for Hillary, so she could always claim she didn’t know they contained TOP SECRET information. And each such action is a felony, too. (Re-posted with permission, “CLINTON CRIME FAMILY COMICS: Hillary’s 5 Funniest Email Lies”, originally appeared HERE)

Chinese Immigrant: ‘America Is the Only Country Founded on Great and Noble Ideals’ [+video]

downloadWorrying that many native-born Americans are forgetting what draws immigrants to this country from places like communist China, Helen Raleigh, “an American by choice,” says “not all countries are created equal.”

It was in Tiananmen Square, while in middle school, that this young girl first heard the American Declaration of Independence read out loud in Chinese. It sparked her curiosity for another way of being governed. Nine years later, Raleigh came to the U.S. as a student and is now a businesswoman, author, speaker and policy advocate, while married to an American.

In this 32-minute exclusive video interview with The Daily Caller, Raleigh’s bilingual skills are obvious as she explains American exceptionalism and why it welcomes people like her.

“America is the only country founded on great and noble ideals and universally accepted values, such as we are all created equal, we have inalienable rights and we are governed by consent.” No country was ever founded on those unifying principles, she declares.

Raleigh says the political left in America is dividing Americans into groups and believes “circumstances determine your own life.” But, the right, she says, believe “circumstances only influence your life,” with the important factors being of one’s mind and actions. Watch: A Man Was Flying a Drone to Get a Nice Aerial Shot of the Beach…What He Discovered Is Terrifying

Pismo-BeachA vacationer was hoping to get some cool footage of the surfers riding the waves at Pismo Beach, Calif., with his drone, when he spotted something ominous in the water last weekend.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune reports that Dustin McClasin, visiting from Bakersfield, sent his drone airborne around 9:15 a.m. last Saturday morning, flying it from a balcony up the coast line.

When he saw something dark beneath the surface near one of the surfers, he circled in to take a closer look. What he thought at first might just be seaweed, he realized was in fact a 9′ to 10′ shark.

At one point in the video, the shark swims very close to a surfer sitting in the water, just as said surfer catches a wave taking him safely away from the potential hazard. (Read more from “A Man Was Flying a Drone to Get a Nice Aerial Shot of the Beach…What He Discovered Is Terrifying” HERE)
