Gay Judge Denied Communion

Michigan district court judge was asked by her Catholic priest to not partake in the sacrament of Holy Communion because of the fact that she is married to a woman.

Michigan’s 63rd District Court Chief Judge, Sara Smolenski, told CNN that the priest at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Grand Rapids called and asked her to “not come to communion” because of her same sex marriage.

“This is not about me against the priest, and it’s not really me against the church,” said the 62-year-old Smolenski, telling CNN that the decision “feels like selective discrimination.” . . .

Smolenski, who was baptized at the church, claimed that St. Stephen’s priest Scott Nolan called her on November 23 to tell her it was good to see her in church, but “‘because you and Linda are married in the state of Michigan, I’d like you to respect the church and not come to communion.’”

Smolenski was elected as a judge in 1990 and became chief judge in 1996. She married longtime partner Linda Burpee in March 2016 after the practice became legal, CNN reported. (Read more from “Gay Judge Denied Communion” HERE)

Amazon Sparks Outrage After Selling Holocaust-Themed Christmas Ornaments

Critics blasted Amazon on Sunday after the company began selling Christmas ornaments and bottle openers decorated with images of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia notes, the SS and police deported an estimated 1.3 million people to the Auschwitz camp complex between 1940 and 1945. Of these, approximately 1.1 million people were murdered, including one million Jews.

Poland’s Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum wrote on Twitter, “Selling ‘Christmas ornaments’ with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate. Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful. We ask @amazon to remove the items of those suppliers.”

The Auschwitz ornaments include an image of the train tracks leading to the entrance of the concentration camp, and an image of the barracks where prisoners were housed, according to the Jewish Telegraph Agency. At least one of the Christmas tree decorations was printed on an an ornament shaped like a star of David. MSNBC Host Disparages Evangelical Christians, Trump Supporters as ‘Racial and Religious Cult’

MSNBC host Joy Reid took aim at evangelical Christians and supporters of President Donald Trump on her show Saturday, likening them to a “cult.”

“There’s a lot of ways if you look at like the Public Religion Research Institute numbers that, you know, it isn’t just a pejorative to say that it’s a cult,” Reid said.

“There’s a lot of evidence that is a racial and religious cult of personality in which his base is solidly among the white evangelicals that almost worship him and say that he’s the chosen one of God,” she continued.

Reid’s comments come after the Economist/YouGov weekly tracking poll showed that Republicans now believe that Trump is a better president than Abraham Lincoln. The poll found that Republicans — 53 percent to 47 percent — select Trump over Lincoln as a better president.

However, Americans overall, when Democrats and Independents are measured, still rate Lincoln as better than Trump. (Read more from “MSNBC Host Disparages Evangelical Christians, Trump Supporters as ‘Racial and Religious Cult'” HERE)

22-Week-Old Premature Baby Girls Are the Smallest Twins to Ever Survive

Two Iowa sisters just made a Guinness World Record for being the smallest premature twins ever to survive.

On Sunday, Keeley and Kambry Ewoldt celebrated their 1st birthday after being born at 22 weeks and 1 day of pregnancy, according to Guinness World Records. At birth, the little girls weighed just 1 pound 1.3 ounces and 13.4 ounces, respectively.

Today, the girls are a living miracle and a testament to the life-saving advances of modern medicine.

“It’s really just a work of God that they are even here because there is so much that they’ve defied to be here,” their mother, Jade Ewoldt, told the record-keeping company. . .

Also encouraging, Klein said long-term disabilities are not common. He said the hospital follows up with premature babies years afterward, and it has found that only about 10 percent have a long-term disability such as blindness, deafness or cognitive disabilities, according to the AP. Abortion Clinic at Center of Supreme Court Battle May Have Covered Up Rape of Young Girls

Last week, the Louisiana Department of Justice announced suspicions about alleged criminal activity that may have happened at the abortion business at the center of a high-profile U.S. Supreme Court case.

The Louisiana Department of Justice accused the Hope Medical Group abortion business of hiding evidence of criminal and professional misconduct from the Supreme Court as it challenges a state abortion clinic regulation law. . .

According to the report:

While declining to address specifics of the Hope case, the Louisiana attorney general’s office said the state’s abortion clinics have a disturbing pattern of failing to report rapes, and that a survey it conducted showed that between 2013 and 2018 at least 66 abortions were performed on girls 11, 12 or 13 years old. The ages indicate that the girls were survivors of rape.

More comprehensive data has been withheld from regulators and the public, state officials contend, because at least two abortion clinics that closed recently shredded all their documents when they shut down.

Mormon Church Backs Gay Conversion Therapy Ban in Utah

Utah is close to banning gay conversion therapy after receiving the backing of the influential Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Utah is set to become the 19th state in the country to ban conversion therapy after the state legislature failed to pass a similar bill earlier in the year. GOP Gov. Gary Herbert announced a regulatory rule on Tuesday that would accomplish much of what was drafted in the legislation, according to the Associated Press.

“I have learned much through this process,” Herbert said in a statement. “The stories of youth who have endured these so-called therapies are heart rending, and I’m grateful that we have found a way forward that will ban conversion therapy forever in our state.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon Church, did not take a stance on the earlier legislation. The state government secured the church’s support by including a provision in the rule that would allow therapists in the church to provide spiritual support and counseling for families seeking it. . .

“We are opposed to conversion therapy and our therapists do not practice it,” church director of government relations Marty Stephens said in a statement. “However, we are grateful for the clarifications the new rule provides, and we support its adoption.” (Read more from “Mormon Church Backs Gay Conversion Therapy Ban in Utah” HERE)

Incredible: Mom Hears Disabled Son Say ‘I Love You’ for First Time in 19 Years

A mother in Malden, Massachusetts, recently received the sweetest gift she could ever have imagined from her disabled child.

For almost 19 years, Beth Bostic has been unable to communicate verbally with her son, James. Even though the young man was born perfectly healthy, he became disabled after developing severe Jaundice, according to KRON 4.

If the condition, which is sometimes hard to detect, goes untreated for long periods of time it can cause kernicterus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The website stated:

Kernicterus is a type of brain damage that can result from high levels of bilirubin in a baby’s blood. It can cause athetoid cerebral palsy and hearing loss. Kernicterus also causes problems with vision and teeth and sometimes can cause intellectual disabilities. Early detection and management of jaundice can prevent kernicterus.

Police Officer Receives Coffee from Starbucks Labeled ‘Pig’

An on-duty Oklahoma police officer decided to drop by Starbucks on Thanksgiving Day to buy drinks for his department’s 911 dispatchers who were also working shifts on the holiday in the town of Kiefer. Every cup in the order was labeled with the word “PIG.” . . .

The officer reported the incident to Kiefer Police Chief Johnny O’Mara, who called the Starbucks location and spoke with a manager. . .

Unsatisfied with the manager’s response, the chief took to social media to tell the story, which has now gone viral. . .

In response to O’Mara’s Facebook post, Starbucks wrote in a comment, “This is totally unacceptable and offensive to all law enforcement. We are deeply sorry and have apologized directly to the officer who experienced this. We have launched an internal investigation into this matter and our leaders would like to connect with you directly to apologize to you and the entire department.”

A spokesman for the company, Jory Mendes, told WGN-TV a barista has been suspended in connection with the incident, pending an investigation. (Read more from “Police Officer Receives Coffee from Starbucks Labeled ‘Pig'” HERE)

Woman Impregnated by Hunter Biden Was Washington DC Stripper Called Dallas

The Arkansas woman who was recently revealed by a court-ordered DNA test to given birth to a child father by Hunter Biden’s son was a stripper at a Washington, D.C., club.

Lunden Roberts, 28, worked as an exotic dancer at Mpire Club, near Dupont Circle, just blocks from the White House, where Biden, 49, was a regular, according to the New York Post. Biden, a former lobbyist who has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, is the son of 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden, 77.

Around the time Roberts became pregnant with “Baby Doe” – the gender of the child was not revealed in court proceedings triggered by Hunter Biden’s refusal to admit paternity – Hunter Biden was dating Halle Biden, 44, the widow of his brother Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015 at age 46.

Roberts used to perform under the stage name “Dallas.” She was working at the club at about the time she became pregnant with Biden’s child. Employees remember Dallas as “really sweet,” with one employee saying she has a “heart of gold and is a smarty-pants.”

Mpire Club, where guests said Biden was “well-known,” is three blocks away from the club Archibald’s, a VIP club where Biden was accused of smoking crack last year while holding $50,000-a-month position on the board of Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas firm that has been a key figure in the impeachment hearings against President Trump. Hunter Biden joined the board when his father was vice president and President Barack Obama’s “point man” on Ukraine. Receiving the Certainty of Hope with a Posture of Thanksgiving

Life has a way of sometimes being more difficult than you can imagine, throwing a curveball when you expected the fast pitch down the center of the plate. We make plans and settle into a routine only to be violently inconvenienced when we least expect it.

It is from that vein that I want to share with you what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving — the certainty of hope.

The Christian life is defined by a different ethos than what our culture offers. One of the highest ideals sold to us by the culture is that we should attain to be happy, that positivity and optimism should be our default posture, and that we should cut off anything that stands in the way of obtaining personal happiness. . .

It is often during the difficult seasons of life that we self-medicate using the great idols of our day, like rampant consumerism and addiction to hurry. That if we can simply block out difficulties or ignore them for just a little bit longer, we might perhaps be closer to the utopian idea of bliss.

However for the Christian, the Messiah person, the man and woman through whom the Kingdom of God comes on earth as it is in heaven, there is the promise and certainty of hope. (Read more from “Receiving the Certainty of Hope with a Posture of Thanksgiving” HERE)
