Dad Crashes Daughter’s Marriage Proposal in Epic Fashion: ‘SAY NO’

When you imagine the day your boyfriend of two years asks you that one special question that will change your life forever, you probably don’t envision your dad in the distance holding a sign that reads, “SAY NO.”

But this is exactly what happened to Nevada woman Allison Barron.

Her father Jake Barron crashed her marriage proposal from boyfriend Levi Bliss on Saturday in epic fashion. As Bliss was down on one knee and asking her to be his, Allison caught a glimpse of her father standing atop a nearby hill with the hilarious sign. Allison said she immediately burst into laughter, as did Levi.

Though Mr. Barron is close to Levi and approved of the young man for his daughter, as disclosed to BuzzFeed News by Allison, his humorous stunt captures what I’d imagine every father might be feeling on some level the day his daughter gets engaged. Thus, the image was widely relatable and instantly went viral.

I said YES! 💍 Future Mrs. Bliss ❤️

“This is really just my dad’s personality,” Allison assured BuzzFeed. “We have a very close family and so he’s made little jokes like this before.” (Read more from “Dad Crashes Daughter’s Marriage Proposal in Epic Fashion: ‘SAY NO'” HERE)

High School Student Organizes First Pride Celebration in Mike Pence’s Hometown

By Huffington Post. A high school senior is organizing the first LGBTQ Pride festival in downtown Columbus, Indiana, the hometown of Vice President Mike Pence.

“I am organizing Columbus Pride Festival because I feel it is important for members of the LGBTQ community to know that Columbus is a welcoming and diverse community,” Erin Bailey, a senior at Columbus Signature Academy-New Tech, told HuffPost. “Even though Mike Pence is openly anti-gay, that doesn’t mean that all of us in his hometown are.”

The 18-year-old is planning the April 14 event as a part of a school project she began last year.

Samantha Aulick, a Columbus resident who is also helping Bailey organize the event, said her wife has lived in Columbus for more than 40 years and has never participated in a Pride event there. “We live in a conservative community that may actually be the most liberal in Indiana,” said Aulick, who operates the only LGBT Business Enterprise in their community, Artisan Foodworks. “But it is still Indiana and what created Mike Pence.” (Read more from “High School Student Organizes First Pride Celebration in Mike Pence’s Hometown” HERE)

Did Americans Love Roseanne’s Pro-Trump Revival? Here’s What the Ratings Say

By The Blaze. . .After nearly three decades since its last show, Roseanne opened to an incredible 18.1 million audience average, and 5.1 rating in the key demographic of adults aged 18 to 49.

The Hollywood Reporter said the ratings made it the “highest-rated regularly scheduled scripted show of the last few seasons.”

Roseanne Barr tweeted a grateful message to her fans on Wednesday.

“I am so greatful to the fans of the Roseanne show for giving it a good Premiere rating. You are all wonderful-here is to making America laugh & talk again! LOVE U” she tweeted . . .

Pundits noted that the new show featured the main character with very pro-Trump leanings. Some attributed the high ratings at least in part to the support of the president by the title character. (Read more from “Did Americans Love Roseanne’s Pro-Trump Revival? Here’s What the Ratings Say” HERE)

TV Ratings: ‘Roseanne’ Revival Skyrockets With Stunning Premiere

By The Hollywood Reporter. The ABC comedy returns nearly three decades after its original premiere, averaging a whopping 18.1 million and an unbelievable 5.1 rating in the key demo.

Roseanne returned Tuesday after two decades. The ABC sitcom kicked off its revived run with especially promising returns — dominating every other Big Four telecast of the night.

The first two episodes of Roseanne, a full hour at the top of the ABC lineup, won the night by both adults 18-49 and total viewers. The show averaged a 5.1 rating in the key demo and 18.1 million viewers, rising from the first half hour to the next. The first number alone is enough to make Roseanne the highest-rated regularly scheduled scripted show of the last few seasons, since Empire at its peak, as well as the highest-rated sitcom broadcast in over three years.

That’s an incredibly strong start for the sitcom, thus far only committed to nine episodes. The easiest comparison is another revival, NBC’s Will & Grace. The other reboot, one that helped jump-start Roseanne and the current trend, premiered with a 3.0 rating in the key demo and just over 10 million viewers at the start of the season.

ABC made a pretty bold move by having Roseanne go it alone at 8 p.m., without any lead-in. The hour has belonged to sitcoms The Middle and Fresh Off the Boat for the season up until now. Roseanne’s brief run picks up next Tuesday, airing single episodes at 8 p.m. for another seven weeks. (Read more from “TV Ratings: ‘Roseanne’ Revival Skyrockets With Stunning Premiere” HERE)

Parkland Student David Hogg Can’t Get Into Any Colleges

By Breitbart. Tuesday during an interview with TMZ’s Harvey Levin, gun control proponent and Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg said it was “annoying” he has been rejected by all the University of California campuses that he’d submitted college admissions applications for, but he will continue to “change the world.”

TMZ reported Hogg submitted applications to UCLA, UCSD, UCSB and UC Irvine.

Hogg said, “It’s not been too great for me and some of the other members in the movement, like Ryan Deitsch. We got rejected from UCLA, I got rejected from UCLA and UCSD, so it’s been kind of annoying having to deal with that, and everything else that’s been going on, but at this point, it’s, you know, we’re changing the world. We’re too busy. Right now it’s too hard to focus on that.” (Read more from “Parkland Student David Hogg Can’t Get Into Any Colleges” HERE)

Rejected by 4 Colleges ‘and Whines About It’: A Fox News Host Mocked a Parkland School Shooting Survivor — Now He’s Going After Her Advertisers

By Business Insider. David Hogg, a Parkland school shooting survivor who has become one of the prominent voices for gun control, is now going after a conservative talk-show host’s advertisers after she made light of his college-rejection letters.

Laura Ingraham, a Fox News opinion host, tweeted a link to a news article about Hogg having received rejection letters from several University of California schools.

“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied,” the article’s headline read, “and whines about it,” Ingraham added.

That tweet went out to Ingraham’s 2.2 million Twitter followers Wednesday morning and made its way back to Hogg nearly 10 hours later: “Soooo @IngrahamAngle what are your biggest advertisers … Asking for a friend,” Hogg wrote, with the hashtag, “BoycottingIngramAdverts.”

Later, he tweeted a list of companies and urged his followers to contact them. It was not immediately clear which, if any, of the companies are current Ingraham advertisers. The boycott resembles campaigns that targeted Fox opinion hosts Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, who was forced off the network amid a sexual-harassment scandal last year. Gender Equity LOL: Man Legally Changes Gender So He Can Retire 5 Years Earlier

By The Daily Wire. An Argentinian man who spent decades slaving away as a tax worker is getting to enjoy some of that “gender equity” everybody’s been calling for. All he had to do was sign a few forms and change one little letter to start enjoying retired life a few years earlier — as a “woman.”

What sounded like an Argentinian version of the Bruce-to-Caitlyn Jenner story — but without the Olympic gold, the Kardashians, and a “Woman of the Year” award — has turned out to be a rather brilliant early retirement plan by a humble tax worker, Sergio Lazarovich, that just wants some fairness, and his pension.

Last June, Sergio officially became Sergia, and Sergia officially became eligible to start drawing her state pension. But a member of Sergia’s family has now blown the lid off the gender identity-based gender equity move, though what actions the state might take remain to be seen.

So how’d Sergio pull it off? Well, it was remarkably easy, as the Daily Mail explains: ”Argentinian law allows any person to change their gender on identity documents to match their self-perception, without having to provide evidence of hormone treatment or gender reassignment surgery.”

In other words, Argentina’s gender identity laws are about as strict as Target’s bathroom policies. (Read more from “Gender Equity LOL: Man Legally Changes Gender So He Can Retire 5 Years Earlier” HERE)

Man Legally Changes His Gender to Identify as a Woman ‘So He Can Retire Five Years Earlier’ in Argentina

By Daily Mail. Sergia Lazarovich, 60, a government worker from the northern province of Salta, applied to change her gender in June last year, having lived for decades as Sergio.

The change was approved recently but a relative has since come forward to accuse Sergia of lying and trying to cheat the pension system.

Argentinian law allows any person to change their gender on identity documents to match their self-perception, without having to provide evidence of hormone treatment or gender reassignment surgery.

The law also allow women to retire on a state pension aged 60, whereas men have to wait until age 65.

The relative told Informate Salta: ‘His conviction is that it is unfair that, because he is a man, he has to work five years more than a woman. (Read more from “Man Legally Changes His Gender to Identify as a Woman ‘So He Can Retire Five Years Earlier’ in Argentina” HERE)

Planned Parenthood: ‘We Need a Disney Princess Who’s Had an Abortion’

By Life Site News. A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Pennsylvania called for a Disney princess who not only supports abortion, but who has had one.

“We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice,” read a tweet from Planned Parenthood Keystone’s official Twitter account, published Tuesday morning. It has since been deleted, but a screenshot of the tweet is preserved below.

The message also calls for a transgendered Disney princess, as well as “union worker” and “undocumented immigrant” princesses.

Planned Parenthood Keystone has not referenced the tweet or its deletion on its Twitter account as of the time of this writing, and neither it nor the national organization replied to the Wrap’s request for comment. Planned Parenthood Called for Disney Princess ‘Who’s Had an Abortion’ in Now-Deleted Tweet

By USA Today. A Planned Parenthood branch in Pennsylvania called for the Walt Disney Co. to create an animated princess “who’s had an abortion” in a since-deleted tweet posted Tuesday.

Planned Parenthood Keystone, a branch of the health service provider based in Trexlertown, Pa., tweeted that, “We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion / We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice / We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant / We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker / We need a disney princess who’s trans”.

The tweet’s construction riffed on a recently popular Twitter meme that imagines new animated princesses with traits serious and not. The non-profit Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine — which archives snapshots of sites across the web — shows it stored six captures of the tweet on Tuesday. Planned Parenthood’s national office confirmed the tweet and its deletion in an email to USA TODAY.

“Today, we joined an ongoing Twitter conversation about the kinds of princesses people want to see in an attempt to make a point about the importance of telling stories that challenge stigma and championing stories that too often don’t get told,” said Melissa Reed, Planned Parenthood’s president and CEO. “Upon reflection, we decided that the seriousness of the point we were trying to make was not appropriate for the subject matter or context, and we removed the tweet.”

The tweet triggered a slew of feedback online from users replying to a now-vanished post. Some took screenshots of the tweet before its deletion.

Chemotherapy-Free ‘Cancer Vaccine’ Moves From Mice to Human Trials

By SF Gate. A recent Stanford cancer study that cured 97 percent of mice from tumors has now moved on to soliciting human volunteers for a new cutting-edge medical trial.

The trial is part of a gathering wave of research into immunotherapy, a type of treatment that fights cancer by using the body’s immune system to attack tumors.

“Getting the immune system to fight cancer is one of the most recent developments in cancer,” Dr. Ronald Levy, a Stanford oncology professor who is leading the study, told SFGATE. “People need to know that this is in its early days and we are still looking for safety and looking to make this as good as it can be.”

The treatment is not a true vaccine that creates lasting immunity, but it does feature a vaccine-like injection carrying two immune stimulators that activate the immune system’s T cells to eliminate tumors throughout the body.

Each test subject receives a low dose of radiation plus two rounds of the injected agents, Levy said. No chemotherapy is involved. (Read more from “Chemotherapy-Free ‘Cancer Vaccine’ Moves From Mice to Human Trials” HERE)

Twice Deported Illegal Alien Accused of Raping Teen Released by Sheriff Without Reporting to ICE

By Bizpac Review. An illegal alien accused of raping a young girl was allowed to walk out of a county jail without notification to immigration authorities.

Anastacio Eugenio Lopez Fabian, 24, faced several charges related to sexual relations with a girl under 14 years old, and was ultimately detained by ICE despite a lack of cooperation from a Washington sheriff’s office, the Daily Astorian reports.

Lopez was charged with two counts of second-degree rape, three counts of third-degree rape, fourth-degree assault, and harassment for alleged relations with a minor beginning in 2016.

Police arrested him in February, but he was released the same day after posting $25,000 bail.

On the day Lopez arrived for a hearing at Clatsop County Circuit Court, ICE was on the scene and detained him, transporting him to Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma. (Read more from “Twice Deported Illegal Alien Accused of Raping Teen Released by Sheriff Without Reporting to ICE” HERE)

Suspect Deported Twice Before Alleged Rape of Underage Seaside Girl

By The Daily Astorian. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree rape, three counts of third-degree rape, fourth-degree assault and harassment. A mandatory minimum sentence of more than six years in prison applies to second-degree rape convictions.

ICE detained him in the courthouse parking lot as he arrived for a hearing. He is in custody at the private Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington, according to the federal agency’s records. Fabian was deported to Guatemala in 2013 and 2014, according to a statement from ICE spokeswoman Carissa Cutrell, who also said the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office did not alert the agency of his most recent arrest . . .

Sheriff Tom Bergin said the timing and coordination of Fabian’s initial arrest and release did not allow for his office to notify the agency.

“He posted bail, so there’s not much we can do unless ICE notifies us, which it didn’t,” Bergin said. “ICE puts out a blanket statement every time they do these things because they want to cover their butts. Believe me, we want to hold these guys.”

The federal agency criticized the county last year for not adhering to its requests to detain undocumented immigrants. Bergin pointed to a U.S. District Court case in Portland in which a judge ruled in favor of a woman detained by ICE at a Clackamas County jail, claiming the Fourth Amendment protected her against unreasonable search and seizure. Melania’s Response to Stormy Daniels’ ‘Salaciaous Gossip’ Is Every Bit as Classy as You Would Expect

By Bizpac Review. . .Melania Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham responded on behalf of the First Lady to allegations that President Trump had an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels in 2006, writing that the Slovenian-born former model is “focused on being a mom,” NBC News reports.

The First Lady notably stayed out of the fray. Grisham told NBC News “She’s focused on being a mom and is quite enjoying spring break at Mar-a-Lago while working on future projects.”

In a tweet, Grisham, likely alluding to Stormy Daniels’ Sunday night interview on “60 Minutes,” reproved the mainstream media for its coverage of “salacious gossip” and asked journalists to keep the First Couple’s 12-year-old son, Barron, “out of” the news.

The White House also responded to the “60 Minutes” interview, in which the adult film star claimed she was threatened with physical harm if she went public with her story.

“With respect to that interview I will say the president strongly, clearly and has consistently denied these underlying claims and the only person who has been inconsistent is the one making the claims,” the Washington Examiner quoted deputy press secretary Raj Shah at Monday’s press briefing. Stormy Daniels to ’60 Minutes’: I Was Threatened in 2011 Over Telling My Trump Story

By NBC News. Adult film star Stormy Daniels — who has said in a lawsuit that she had an “intimate” relationship with Donald Trump a decade before he became president — said in an interview airing Sunday night that she was threatened in 2011 inside a Las Vegas parking garage with her infant daughter present and was told not to go public with her story.

In a wide-ranging interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” — its highest-rated broadcast in 10 years, since an interview with Barack and Michelle Obama in 2008, the network said Monday — Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said the threat came weeks after she’d agreed to tell her story to a sister publication of InTouch magazine — an interview that didn’t run at the time.

“I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. Taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, getting all the stuff out. And a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,'” Daniels said, according to a transcript of the interview.

“And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone,” she added. (Read more from “Stormy Daniels to ’60 Minutes’: I Was Threatened in 2011 Over Telling My Trump Story” HERE)
