Former Homosexual Shares How Churches Can Better Minister to LGBT Community: ‘Only Jesus Can Make You Whole’

jackie-hill-perryJackie Hill-Perry, a Christian rapper and former lesbian, has shared her thoughts on how churches can better minister to the LGBT community and why she believes Christian leaders should remind those struggling with same-sex attraction that their identity is more than their sexuality.

During a recent interview with The Gospel Coalition, the 26-year old St. Louis native was asked “what is the most important thing church leaders can do to help people in their congregations who struggle with same-sex attraction?”

“What was helpful for me was that my leadership did not isolate my same-sex attraction from my whole person,” she responded. “They looked to see ‘how can I help her in a Gospel-centric way that’s holistic’ because it wasn’t that I struggle with lesbianism. I struggled with hatred, bitterness, laziness, gluttony, lack of stewardship, pride. There was a lot to me that was much deeper than just my sexuality.”

Hill-Perry, who is now married to fellow spoken word artist Preston Perry and has a daughter, explained that Christian leaders need to let people know that their identity is in more than just their sexuality.

“When I was able to see that all of me needed Jesus, all of me needed to be whole and all of me needed to be discipled, that’s what helped me. Because it kind of humbles you where [I said] ‘I’m real messed up because it’s not this one little fraction of me. It’s all of me’ and I’m able to really crawl to Jesus and know He can fix me. Only He can make me whole,” she said. (Read more from “Former Homosexual Shares How Churches Can Better Minister to LGBT Community: ‘Only Jesus Can Make You Whole'” HERE)

Public Tax Dollars at Work: Apps for Free Condoms, Bi-Sexual Birth Control, and More [+videos]

tax-dollarsImplementation of sexual and gender neutrality extends beyond the federal and state governments to the local governments as well. In New York City for example, its Health Department advocates “pregnancy prevention” efforts, which include information for bisexuals and transgender and gender non-conforming teens.

The New York City Health Department distributes Plan B emergency contraception and other hormonal contraceptives to minor public school students without telling their parents (distribution isn’t tracked or correlated to pregnancy prevention data). It has also created several videos and NYC Health smart phone apps to “educate” teens about reproductive and sexual health and free clinic services.

One app, NYC Condom Finder, lists locations where anyone can find “FREE condoms no matter where you are in New York City,” including:

“walking directions to the 5 nearest venues that distribute FREE NYC Condoms! With more than 3,000 locations throughout all 5 boroughs, no matter where you are, you’ll always be protected.”

Another, Teens in NYC, provides information about sexual health services for teens. Children under 18 years old “don’t need a parents’ consent to use these clinics.” It’s stated policy is:

“teens in NY State have the right to sexual health services privately – without getting permission from parents, girlfriends/boyfriends or anyone else.”

Videos explain how young teens can access birth control to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

The apps provide easy access for teens to locate free and confidential contraceptive, abortion, counseling, and pharmaceutical services without the involvement of their parents’ knowledge or consent.

New York State does not require parental consent or notification before their child receives prescriptions for “reproductive health” drugs, including Plan B, treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, or abortions.

One video features Anaya who wants to wait until she’s married to have sex. She wants to focus on good grades in high school. She states how much she loves her boyfriend and that she wants to make him happy. She gives in and has unprotected sex, after which she goes to a clinic and receives the morning after pill and free birth control, expressing how she feels accepted and happy.

Another video features a teenage girl discussing birth control from a bisexual perspective. “Samantha” says she may have feelings for her female friend, “Alisha,” even though she has a boyfriend, “Richie.” She says, “I like sex with Richie but sometimes I can’t stop thinking about how beautiful Alisha is … or how much I want to kiss her, or go even further. So I guess I like girls, too.”

In the video, a counselor directs her to a free health clinic where Samantha is given condoms and a prescription for birth control and told that her feelings for both men and women are “normal.”

The Health Department has stated it does not compile data related to the numbers of pregnancies it claims to prevent in order to evidence the in/effectiveness of its programs. Baby Monitor Hacker Sends a Frightening Message to Indianapolis Family

video-baby-monitor-70753-161503An Indianapolis couple was violated in their own home after someone hacked into their baby monitoring system. The Denmans use a video baby monitoring system to keep an eye on their daughter while she is asleep . . .

Wednesday, the Denman’s two-year-old daughter was playing at home with her mother when all of the sudden music started coming from the baby monitor.

“Someone was playing ‘Every Breath You Take’ by The Police,” said Denman.

At first, mom thought it was a joke, however, she quickly realized someone hacked into the camera . . .

Denman searched online to see if any other families have been through a similar situation. He discovered that the person who most likely violated his privacy has done it before. There are several videos posted online showing similar hacks with the same song playing over the speakers. The likely culprit also has a Twitter account he uses to brag about the breaches. LGBT Activists Blast Rentboy Raid as ‘Digital Stonewall’

Demonstrators hold signs as they protest the arrests of male escort service Rentboy.com staffers outside United States Court in the Brooklyn borough of New YorkBranding the raid a “digital Stonewall,” roughly 70 LGBT activists blasted Brooklyn federal prosecutors Thursday for busting up popular online escort site rentboy.com last week.

Holding signs and chanting, the raucous group gathered in front of the Brooklyn federal courthouse to demand that all charges against employees at the multimillion-dollar enterprise be dropped immediately.

The activists — including current sex workers who advertised their services on the site — argued that the feds should not be allocating resources to policing consensual sex.

Shouting “Bl–jobs, not no jobs” and “Sex work is real work,” the protesters suggested that the operation was aimed at gays and transgender sex workers.

Several attendees cited graphic sexual descriptions in the complaint against the rentboy.com staffers as peculiarly prurient and unnecessary. (Read more from “LGBT Activists Blast Rentboy Raid as ‘Digital Stonewall'” HERE)

Vanderbilt Women’s Center to Lecture Men on ‘Healthy Masculinities’

Conservative Christian Group Defends US Schools From Atheists Who Want Football Chaplains Abolished

footballThe American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a conservative Christian-based organization has jumped into the fray between the atheist group Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) and American colleges and universities.

Recently, the FFRF sent letters to 15 colleges and universities, pressuring the schools to fire the chaplains of their football teams. This is because, according to the FFRF, appointing a football chaplain in a sports team is unconstitutional.

The FFRF claims that schools should abolish their chaplaincy because “Christian coaches and chaplains are converting football fields into mission fields” and that appointing football chaplains is a form of “religious discrimination.”

A report by FFRF goes on to say that schools cannot “use the coercive nature and structure of a public football program to mandate, order, or even suggest that players under their control should worship as the coaches wish.”

The atheist group suggests instead that “it is in the best interest of public universities to adopt policies that protect student athletes from discrimination and unlawful religious coercion.” (Read more from “Conservative Christian Group Defends US Schools From Atheists Who Want Football Chaplains Abolished” HERE)

Fast Food Restaurant Refuses to Serve Woman, Here’s the Ridiculous Reason Why

Arby'sBy Fox News. A Florida Police Department had a beef with Arby’s after a cop was denied service Tuesday evening by a worker at the fast food franchise – simply because the customer was a police officer . . .

An officer, in uniform and driving a marked police vehicle, placed an order at a drive-thru speaker Tuesday evening before pulling up to the window to pay and receive the order. But an Arby’s worker at the window refused service.

“The comment was made that they wouldn’t be served because they were a police officer,” Maj. Carlos Bermudez, a Pembroke Pines officer, told FoxNews.com.

Someone else inside the restaurant intervened and gave the officer [her] order. But, after initially taking it and paying for it, the officer returned the bag and got a refund because [she] didn’t feel “comfortable.”

“In my 18 years here I’ve never heard of an incident like this before,” Bermudez said. “Whenever we’ve gone to an establishment, we’ve been treated professionally and great.” (Read more from “Fast Food Restaurant Refuses to Serve Woman, Here’s the Ridiculous Reason Why” HERE)

Arby’s Apologizes to Pembroke Pines Police After Report That Clerk Refused to Serve Uniformed Officer

By Mike Clary and Erika Pesantes. The alleged refusal of a 19-year-old fast-food employee to serve a uniformed Pembroke Pines police officer ballooned into a social media firestorm Wednesday and prompted a demand for an apology from Arby’s that was quickly delivered.

“I am offended and appalled that an individual within our community would treat a police officer in such a manner,” Chief Dan Giustino said in a news release in response to a report from Sgt. Jennifer Martin that an Arby’s employee refused to wait on her “due to being a police officer.”

The incident allegedly happened Tuesday evening at the Arby’s at 11755 Pines Blvd. in the Pembroke Lakes Mall.

Less than two hours after that release went out, police said Giustino had contacted Arby’s by phone. “Immediately following, Arby’s Chief Executive Officer Paul Brown, and Senior Vice President of Operations Scott Boatwright, contacted Chief Giustino to convey their sincere apologies on behalf of their organization,” police said.

“Both gentlemen assured Chief Giustino that the employee’s behavior was unacceptable and not representative of the company’s values. Chief Giustino was appreciative and accepted their apology and now considers this matter closed.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Fox News Anchor Sues Toy Company Over ‘Demeaning Plastic Rodent’ Doll

150902131852-harris-faulkner-pets-780x439A Fox News anchor is suing toy company Hasbro (HAS) for millions after she said it appropriated her name and her likeness for its “Littlest Pet Shop” product line.

Harris Faulkner filed the suit in U.S District Court Monday over the toy line’s “Harris Faulkner Hamster” doll.

“Hasbro’s false suggestion that Faulkner endorsed its product directly impugns Faulkner’s journalistic integrity, by suggesting that she has entered into a business relationship with the company (when she has not) and that she has lent her good name to a demeaning plastic rodent (when she did not),” the lawsuit said.

The suit said the toy resembled her in complexion, shape of its eyes and design of its eye makeup . . .

“Faulkner is extremely distressed that her name has been wrongly associated with a plastic toy that is a known chocking hazard that risks harming small children,” the lawsuit said. (Read more from “Fox News Anchor Sues Toy Company Over ‘Demeaning Plastic Rodent’ Doll” HERE)

Students Stage Walk out Over Transgender Student Using Girls’ Locker Room

lilaCrowds of protesters gathered in front of Hillsboro High School in Missouri to express their thoughts about a transgender student using the girls’ locker room.

More than 150 students walked out of class in protest, 30-40 of which were in support of senior Lila Perry’s right to use the girls’ locker room during gym class, Fox 10 reported.

“There’s a lot of ignorance, they are claiming that they’re uncomfortable,” Perry, who was born a male but said he identified as a female since age 13, told Fox 10. “I don’t believe for a second that they are. I think this is pure and simple bigotry” . . .

“Boys needs to have their own locker room,” Jeff Childs said. “Girls need to have their own locker room and if somebody has mixed feelings where they are, they need to have their own also” . . .

“I wasn’t hurting anyone and I didn’t want to feel segregated out,” Perry said. “I didn’t want to be in the gender neutral bathroom. I am a ‘girl’, I shouldn’t be pushed off to another bathroom.” (Read more from “Students Stage Walk out Over Transgender Student Using Girls’ Locker Room” HERE)
