Florida Introduces ‘Heartbeat Bill’ to Ban Abortions at 6 Weeks

Republicans in the Florida House and Senate filed a bill that would virtually ban all abortions across the state.

Filed by Fort Pierce Republican Sen. Erin Grall, SB 300 would ban doctors from knowingly performing or inducing a termination of pregnancy after the sixth week of gestation.

The “Heartbeat bill” would prohibit a woman from receiving an abortion right around the time the baby’s heartbeat can first be detected, with the exception of saving the life of the mother, fatal fetal abnormality in a pregnancy that has not progressed to the third trimester, and in the case of rape or incest before 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Florida already has a 15-week abortion ban that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) signed last year. However, he signaled that he would support a six-week limit on the procedure. (Read more from “Florida Introduces ‘Heartbeat Bill’ to Ban Abortions at 6 Weeks” HERE)

Sports Broadcaster Calls Decision on USA Powerlifting and Transgender Athletes ‘Unfair to Women’

USA Powerlifting was ordered to allow transgender women to compete with biological females in the women’s division after losing a discrimination case.

The decision drew ire from many across social media, including ESPN anchor Sage Steele, who noticed the news made waves at the start of Women’s History Month.

“Yes. Unfair to women,” she said in response to a tweet from Twitter CEO Elon Musk. “And the irony of this decision being made during Women’s History Month……

Mom Says Teachers’ Union Treated Her Like ‘Enemy of the State’ After Asking About Curriculum

Rhode Island mom Nicole Solas slammed an area teachers’ union she claimed harassed her and made her the topic of a “secret meeting” after she made a records request regarding the district’s curriculum.

“They painted me like a wanted enemy of the state simply because I submitted public records requests,” Solas told Fox News’ Rachel Campos Duffy Sunday on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

“There were 250 teachers that attended where they were alerted to me being an attack on public education,” she later added.

Solas, who was sued by her daughter’s school district last year, said presentation slides condemning her at the secret meeting were leaked to her by a teacher.

She also alleged that the person who created the slides containing pictures of her was a middle school math teacher. (Read more from “Mom Says Teachers’ Union Treated Her Like ‘Enemy of the State’ After Asking About Curriculum” HERE)

House Republicans Rip OBGYN Group’s ‘Outrageous’ Decision to Cancel Pro-Life Doctors

House Republicans decried the nation’s leading obstetrician-gynecologist association for canceling a presentation by pro-life doctors at a recent conference, calling the move “hypocritical and outrageous.”

The five lawmakers led by Rep. Chris Smith, New Jersey Republican, called on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to “end its discrimination against pro-life doctors” after their planned conference exhibit was pulled at the last minute.

“The reported decision by ACOG — an organization purporting to represent all obstetrician–gynecologists — to exclude qualified health care professionals of maternal and child care from presenting at an annual conference because of their pro-life positions is hypocritical and outrageous,” said the Republicans in a Friday statement.

The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists said it has booked a booth for the last 15 years at the 2023 CREOG & APGO annual meeting, but that its doctors were told last week after arriving in Maryland for the event that their exhibit was canceled.

The conference for medical educators is run by the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, which falls under the ACOG umbrella. Cat-Ears-Clad School Board Member Says District Should Not Hire Teachers From Christian University

An Arizona school board member wearing cat ears during a meeting said she would oppose having a contract with a Christian university over the religious and Biblical beliefs they espouse, Fox News Digital found.

The Washington Elementary School District, which serves students in the Phoenix and Glendale areas, had an ongoing contract with Arizona Christian University for five years, enabling their student teachers to be placed in its schools for field experience. The contract opened up opportunities for recruitment and hiring.

On Feb. 23, the board agreed on a motion to dissolve the partnership with the Christian university. They did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether they have a bias against Christian beliefs.

During the meeting, school board member Tamillia Valenzuela blasted the university over its Christian beliefs and said she was “disheartened” to learn about the contract that had been ongoing for five years.

Valenzuela describes herself as “a bilingual, disabled, neurodivergent Queer Black Latina… who loves a good hot wing (but only with the right ranch) and things that sparkle.” (Read more from “Cat-Ears-Clad School Board Member Says District Should Not Hire Teachers From Christian University” HERE)

Columbia Becomes First Ivy League School to Permanently Drop Standardized Exam Requirement

Columbia University became the first Ivy League school to permanently drop its standardized testing requirements for undergraduates.

The postsecondary institution announced Wednesday that the policy changes for Columbia College and the School of Engineering and Applied Science are “rooted in the belief that students are dynamic, multi-faceted individuals who cannot be defined by any single factor.” Students are still optionally permitted to submit their standardized test scores.

“Our review is purposeful and nuanced, respecting varied backgrounds, voices and experiences, in order to best determine an applicant’s suitability for admission and ability to thrive in our curriculum and our community, and to advance access to our educational opportunities,” the university’s admissions department said in a statement. “We have designed our application to afford the greatest possible opportunity and flexibility for students to represent themselves fully and showcase their academic talents, interests and goals.”

Ivy League universities first implemented test-optional admissions policies for certain incoming classes in the wake of government lockdown mandates, which presented difficulties for some students attempting to take college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT. ‘White as Snow’ Activist Who Allegedly Faked Racial Identity Resigns After Own Mom Outs Her

A Muslim progressive activist who has allegedly been lying for years about her ethnic identify, claiming to be a woman of color, has resigned from her position as senior inclusion officer of a Philadelphia-based social justice group.

“Raquel Saraswati, who is facing public allegations that she misrepresented her background and past associations, has informed us of her intention to separate from the organization,” American Friends Service Committee rep Layne Mullett told USA Today.

Saraswati, 39, who was born Rachel Elizabeth Seidel, was the chief equity, inclusion and culture officer of the Philadelphia-based, progressive Quaker group that fights “violence, inequality and oppression.”

She was recently outed by the Intercept for pretending to be of Latin, South Asian and Arab descent — and her mother, Carol Perone, told the outlet that the woman is actually of British, German and Italian lineage.

Last week, AFSC human resources official Oskar Pierre Castro, who helped hire Saraswati for her diversity leadership role, said he felt “conned” and “deceived” by the revelations. (Read more from “‘White as Snow’ Activist Who Allegedly Faked Racial Identity Resigns After Own Mom Outs Her” HERE)

Parent’s Nightmare: 5th Grade Teacher Sued for Calling a Girl a Boy’s Name Until She Felt Suicidal

A teacher at an elementary school in Long Island is accused of pressuring a 9-year-old girl to question her gender identity and sexuality to the point that the girl was openly discussing suicide. Her parents have now sued the school district and the teacher claiming that she pressured their daughter toward a trans identity as a boy.

Debra Rosenquist — a 5th-grade teacher at Terryville Road Elementary School in Port Jefferson Station — started calling the 9-year-old Leo and using opposite gender pronouns toward the beginning of the 2021-’22 school year, according to a lawsuit filed in Suffolk County Court by the child’s parents last month.

The parents say they were only clued in about what was happening in January 2022, when the school principal called them telling them their child – referred to in court papers as A.V. – had drawn a picture of a girl, writing “I wanna kill myself” and “I feel sad like a lot,” the filing claims.

The principal also informed the parents that A.V. had even met with the school psychologist telling the mental health worker that she “was confused about her gender identity,” the court papers say.

Despite Rosenquist, 62, having referred to the student “for months at that point” as Leo, it was only during the Jan. 27, 2022 call that the parents were asked for the first time if this name was okay, the suit claims.

Pentagon Encouraging Soldiers to Abort Their Babies, Giving Free Leave Time, Paying Travel Costs

Service members who want to use administrative leave or receive a travel allowance to get an abortion or fertility treatment will not have to disclose the specific reason they’re using the benefits, the Pentagon confirmed to Military.com on Friday.

Service members will have to write in documentation that their request is for a “non-covered reproductive health care need,” Pentagon spokesperson Cmdr. Nicole Schwegman told Military.com. The leave, an administrative absence, does not count against regular leave allowances.

To have travel and transportation costs paid for, service members will have to submit a note from a Defense Department health care provider or a licensed non-Defense Department health care provider to the travel-approving official that says the travel is needed for non-covered reproductive health care, Schwegman added.

Under policies announced last week, service members can get up to 21 days of administrative leave and transportation costs paid for in order to get an abortion that may only be available far from where they are stationed. CDC: Heterosexual Children Healthier, Happier Than ‘LGBQ+’ Peers

A CDC report published in February assessed significantly increased rates of feelings of hopelessness, sadness, and suicidality among “LGBQ+” high school students relative to their “heterosexual” counterparts.

The CDC’s “Youth Risk Behavior Survey” (YRBS) polled high school students had two categories for “sexual identity”: “heterosexual” and “LGBQ+.” The survey’s respondents classified their sexualities based on how they “identify” with the following options: “heterosexual,” “lesbian,” “gay,” “bisexual,” “questioning,” or “another non-heterosexual identity.”

The CDC promised to ask about “gender identity” in subsequent years’ assessments to collect data on high schoolers “who identify as transgender.”

According to the YRBS’s findings, “LGBQ+” high school students has more than double the rate experiencing poor mental health across the 30 days prior to their participation in the survey.

Among “heterosexual” students, 22 percent reported experiencing poor mental health across the previous month, against 52 percent of “LGBQ+” students. (Read more from “CDC: Heterosexual Children Healthier, Happier Than ‘LGBQ+’ Peers” HERE)
