‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ Trailer Sneaks in ‘Protect Trans Kids’ Flag

The latest trailer for Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is promoting gender transitions for children by sneaking in a transgender flag with the words “Protect Trans Kids.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is set to open in cinemas June 2, is the sequel to the Oscar-winning 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which was a box-office hit grossing $375.5 million worldwide.

The new movie continues the story of Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, who in the first movie assumed the mantle of Spider-Man from Queens-native Peter Parker. On Tuesday, Sony dropped the new trailer, which has been viewed more than 16 million times on YouTube.

Opioid Prescriptions Surged Among New Moms in COVID Lockdown

New mothers who gave birth after March 2020 received “more potent and more frequent opioid prescriptions” within six months than those who had children before COVID-19 lockdowns, a new study found.

A team of five researchers published the study Monday in JAMA Network Open, examining the records of 460,371 privately insured mothers who gave birth to a single newborn from July 2018 to December 2020. It warns of a possible surge in opioid addictions among new moms who may have abused painkillers to numb unpleasant feelings during the lockdowns.

“This potential for misuse was compounded during COVID-19, as the isolation and stressors of the pandemic may have been associated with women misusing opioids as a coping mechanism,” the researchers wrote.

The study found that opioid fill rates were 2.8 percentage points higher from March to December 2020 — after officials nationwide issued stay-at-home orders — than during the previous three years.

The mean of daily morphine-equivalent prescription fills was 1.7 percentage points higher; the rate of opioid prescriptions filled for every 100 moms was 4.6 percentage points higher; and the prescription rate of schedule II opioids was 2.8 percentage points higher than pre-existing trends. ‘Women Are a Biological Reality’: Gay Night Club Posts Sign Outside That Reads ‘XY = Male XX = Female’

A gay bar in New Zealand drew criticism from the transgender community after claiming that biological sex matters.

Cruz, a nightclub and bar in New Zealand, placed a sign outside the establishment that reads “XY = Male XX = Female,” apparently rejecting the idea that gender is unrelated to biological sex. The statement led to significant backlash, with some individuals accusing the business of transphobia.

The bar elaborated on Facebook, posting a picture of the sign with the caption, “women are a biological reality.” Pre-empting criticism, the bar’s Facebook account linked to videos that showed a transgender-critical speaker being attacked by trans activists and another video that claimed transgender policies negatively affect youth.

In a response to a Facebook supporter, the bar claimed that many gay and lesbian people are reluctant to speak out against the transgender movement.

“[U]nfortunately many gay and lesbian targeted businesses are afraid to call this out for what it is. That’s how things came to get as far as they have with the trans madness!” the bar posted. Country Star Performs With Drag Queens At CMT Award Show, Pushes Gun Control

The annual Country Music Television (CMT) Awards show Sunday night was infused with political messages from 29-year-old singer Kelsea Ballerini, who co-hosted the ceremony alongside musician Kane Brown.

Ballerini performed on stage with drag queens from a reality TV show in an apparent rebuke of GOP-backed legislation. She also seemed to push gun control measures while invoking the recent school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, perpetrated by a former student, a 28-year-old woman who identified as a man.

“If you go down, i’m going down too // thank you to these iconic queens,” Ballerini said on Twitter, captioning a photo of the performance. The “Half of My Hometown” singer also thanked Country Music Television (CMT) “for celebrating love, self expression, and performance.”

A GOP-backed law in Tennessee would ban drag queen performances for children and in public spaces where they could be viewed by minors. The law was set to take effect at the beginning of April but has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge.

Ballerini was joined on stage by four drag queens from the reality TV series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” while performing her hit single “If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too).”

Disturbing: Popular Kids Toy Company Turns Heads With New Drag Queen Bear

Popular build-it-yourself children’s teddy bear store “Build-a-Bear Workshop” is turning heads with its new drag queen teddy bear.

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh pointed out on Twitter, Thursday, that “Build-a-Bear Workshop,” the toy store where kids – and adults apparently – can customize their own stuffed animals, had advertised a new drag queen teddy bear.

Sharing a screenshot of the website depicting the new drag product, Walsh tweeted, “Remember: there’s absolutely no agenda to groom your kids. Don’t be ridiculous. On an unrelated note, @buildabear is selling a drag queen stuffed bear for children.”

As the image indicated, the toy – a brown bear in a gold dress with curly platinum blonde hair and lots of eye make-up – was a “RuPaul Bear,” pre-customized in drag to honor popular drag-themed reality show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

A quick internet search for the “RuPaul Bear” confirmed its existence on the Build-a-Bear’s website, though it is located online in the store’s “Bear Cave,” an adult-centric section – and not in the physical store. Gender Clinic Offered Puberty Blockers to Kids as Young as 8, Surgery Referrals at 14, Records Show (VIDEO)

This week was the first anniversary of the discovery of over 100 aborted babies in Washington D.C., five of which were reported to be potential infanticides but police have given almost no information regarding the status of the investigation, according to pro-life advocates.

On March 25, 2022, 115 bodies of aborted babies were found in toxic waste containers from the Washington Surgi-Center in Washington, D.C. by Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), five of them appeared to be late-stage, and looked to have been potentially left to die after a failed abortion attempt, according to Live Action. The bodies were turned over to the police but despite multiple calls for investigation into the clinic and circumstances surrounding the abortions, the city has failed to take any action according to several pro-life advocates that spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“The horrific wounds on the bodies of these innocent children—some who were nearly full-term, and all may have been able to survive outside the womb—indicate destructive violations of federal law,” Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We demand justice for these children who deserved life and were not protected against these brutal actions. I urge the pro-life majority in the House of Representatives to hold a full investigation on this matter as we demand Justice for the Five.”

E.V. Osment, vice president of communications at Susan B. Anthony pro-Life America, told the DCNF that the lack of concern surrounding the case was incredibly frustrating.

“Why do we have no answers on this? New Research Shows Marriage Makes Women Happier and Healthier

Many people today wonder whether marriage is really necessary. Judging by statistics on marriage rates, particularly among younger adults, it is an institution that no longer holds a lot of meaning or purpose for large numbers of people. Women especially are often considered to be better off without husbands.

Certainly, a lack of religious belief and practice plays a big role in this growing trend, but marriage has been the bedrock of many cultures for a very long time — people of differing beliefs and customs around the world have viewed it as fundamental to the health of their societies. And research over the years supports this ancient wisdom importance. The latest, a new study on women’s health and happiness, shows that marriage is significantly beneficial to women.

The study published in Global Epidemiology included 11,830 American female nurses who were all unmarried and then compared those who married over a four year period with those who remained unmarried. The researchers looked at how all of these women faired after 25 years, in terms of mental and physical health and longevity, accounting for things like age, race, and socioeconomic status. What they found was that marriage still matters — a lot. From an article in the Wall Street Journal, written by two of the study’s authors, Brendan Case and Ying Chen:

Our findings were striking. The women who got married in the initial time frame, including those who subsequently divorced, had a 35% lower risk of death for any reason over the follow-up period than those who did not marry in that period. Compared to those who didn’t marry, the married women also had lower risk of cardiovascular disease, less depression and loneliness, were happier and more optimistic, and had a greater sense of purpose and hope.

KJP Says Trans Community Is Under Attack

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday that the transgender community is under attack just days after a transgender shooter murdered six people at a Christian elementary school on Monday.

A reporter questioned Jean-Pierre about about recently passed legislation in Kentucky that bans sex changes for minors and requires transgender people to use bathrooms that match their biological sex. Kentucky lawmakers voted Wednesday to pass the bill over Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto. The reporter also mentioned upcoming protests against legislation like Kentucky’s.

Jean-Pierre responded that the White House supports “peaceful protest” and denounced “anti-trans bills” that “attack trans kids” and “trans parents.”

“It is shameful and it is unacceptable,” she added. “As you mentioned, tomorrow’s Trans Visibility Day. On a day that we should be lifting up our trans kids, our trans youth and making sure that they feel seen. ‘I Couldn’t Believe It’: Classmate Remembers Nashville Shooter As ‘Quiet’ Girl Who ‘Looked So Innocent’

A former classmate of the suspected Nashville, Tennessee, school shooter remembered his acquaintance as a “quiet” girl who “looked so innocent,” noting to the Daily Caller News Foundation that the recent events shocked him.

On Monday, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, a woman who was transgender and went by “he/him” pronouns, shot through the doors of The Covenant School and opened fire, killing three kids and three adults, before being fatally shot by police. Ashshahid Muhammad, who made the 2016 Nossi College of Art Dean’s list with Hale, told the DCNF that when he saw the news in Nashville, he couldn’t believe his former classmate was involved.

“I went to school with her and there was nothing negative that I saw,” Muhammad told the DCNF. “She was very quiet, stayed to herself. She was just quiet, you know, like when I heard about the shooting, when I saw the picture of the person, I couldn’t believe it was her, because, like I said, she looked so innocent. If you were around her in the school, she looked like she wouldn’t hurt a fly. She looked like just a little sweet person.”

Hale entered The Covenant School on Monday around 10:13 a.m. with two “assault-type” rifles and one handgun. Prior to the shooting, Hale had legally purchased seven firearms and was undergoing medical care for an “emotional disorder.”

Police “strongly believe” Hale had other targets such as a local mall and family members, but “too much security” turned her away. Hale, a former student at the school, “had some history there” and “possibly some resentment,” according to law enforcement officials, who will not release Hale’s manifesto.

Professor Reportedly Says It’s ‘Far More Admirable to Kill a Racist, Homophobic, or Transphobic Speaker Than It Is to Shout Them Down.’ Professor Now Suspended — With Pay.

A professor from Wayne State University in Detroit wrote on social media that it’s “far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down,” WJBK-TV reported.

According to the school, the professor has been suspended — but with pay.

WJBK said the English professor — Steven Shaviro — penned a message this month on his personal Facebook page that addressed “right-wing” speakers being allowed on university campuses. The station said the message began with, “So here is what I think about free speech on campus.”

WJBK added that Shaviro also said, “Although I do not advocate violating federal and state criminal codes, I think it is far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down.”
