New Developments in John Mccain’s Battle with Cancer

By The Daily Wire. Orrin Hatch’s office released a statement on Hatch’s comments, saying, “Senator Hatch spoke out of turn about Senator McCain’s status. He’s been pleased to hear reports that Senator McCain is in good spirits and hopes to see him back in Washington soon.”

On Monday, Utah Republican Senator Orrin Hatch revealed that Arizona Republican Senator John McCain is not expected to return to the U.S. Senate . . .

Politico reported that Hatch indicated that “he does not expect McCain, who is battling brain cancer, to return to the Senate.”

“That’s what I’ve been told,” said the 84-year-old Hatch, who is serving in his final year in the Senate before retiring. “I don’t know. I hope he does, I hope he can.” (Read more from “New Developments in John McCain’s Battle with Cancer” HERE)

Hatch Says It’s ‘Ridiculous’ for McCain to Block Trump from Funeral

By CNN. Utah GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch said Monday it is “ridiculous” that ailing Sen. John McCain, also a Republican, doesn’t want President Donald Trump to attend his funeral, as was reported over the weekend.

“I think that’s ridiculous,” Hatch told CNN when asked about McCain’s desire to keep Trump away. “He’s the President of the United States. He’s a very good man. But it’s up to John. I think John should have his wishes fulfilled with regard to who attends his funeral.”

Asked if he would encourage McCain, who has battled famously with Trump, to change his mind and ask the President to speak at his funeral, Hatch, who has been a strong supporter of Trump, said, “I would.” (Read more from “Hatch Says It’s ‘Ridiculous’ for McCain to Block Trump from Funeral” HERE)

New York AG Accused of Violently Attacking Women, Threatened to Kill Them

Eric Schneiderman, New York’s attorney general, has long been a liberal Democratic champion of women’s rights, and recently he has become an outspoken figure in the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment. As New York State’s highest-ranking law-enforcement officer, Schneiderman, who is sixty-three, has used his authority to take legal action against the disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein, and to demand greater compensation for the victims of Weinstein’s alleged sexual crimes. Last month, when the Times and this magazine were awarded a joint Pulitzer Prize for coverage of sexual harassment, Schneiderman issued a congratulatory tweet, praising “the brave women and men who spoke up about the sexual harassment they had endured at the hands of powerful men.” Without these women, he noted, “there would not be the critical national reckoning under way.”

Now Schneiderman is facing a reckoning of his own. As his prominence as a voice against sexual misconduct has risen, so, too, has the distress of four women with whom he has had romantic relationships or encounters. They accuse Schneiderman of having subjected them to nonconsensual physical violence. All have been reluctant to speak out, fearing reprisal. But two of the women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, have talked to The New Yorker on the record, because they feel that doing so could protect other women. They allege that he repeatedly hit them, often after drinking, frequently in bed and never with their consent. Manning Barish and Selvaratnam categorize the abuse he inflicted on them as “assault.” They did not report their allegations to the police at the time, but both say that they eventually sought medical attention after having been slapped hard across the ear and face, and also choked. Selvaratnam says that Schneiderman warned her he could have her followed and her phones tapped, and both say that he threatened to kill them if they broke up with him. (Schneiderman’s spokesperson said that he “never made any of these threats.”)

A third former romantic partner of Schneiderman’s told Manning Barish and Selvaratnam that he also repeatedly subjected her to nonconsensual physical violence, but she told them that she is too frightened of him to come forward. (The New Yorker has independently vetted the accounts that they gave of her allegations.) A fourth woman, an attorney who has held prominent positions in the New York legal community, says that Schneiderman made an advance toward her; when she rebuffed him, he slapped her across the face with such force that it left a mark that lingered the next day. She recalls screaming in surprise and pain, and beginning to cry, and says that she felt frightened. She has asked to remain unidentified, but shared a photograph of the injury with The New Yorker. Confirmed: Election Interference… by Obama

. . .The American Center for Law and Justice has revealed it has uncovered documents showing the Obama State Department even misled Congress about U.S. tax money being used to try to manipulate the results of an election in Israel, America’s strongest ally in the Middle East.

The organization confirmed that through its Freedom of Information Act case involving the U.S. State Department’s support for OneVoice Israel and OneVoice Palestine, it obtained revealing details.

“While the United States regularly issues grants to international organizations that provide services such as humanitarian relief, educational opportunities, and even opportunities and activities aimed at encouraging democratic voter participation, it turns out the OneVoice organizations went well beyond such measures and actively campaigned against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the 2015 elections – using resources established and developed with grant funds from the Obama State Department,” the ACLJ has reported.

And, the ACLJ found, “one of the senior advisers to OneVoice Palestine was none other than the son of Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority – something the Obama Administration clearly knew (since these documents were in its possession).”

“In short, U.S. taxpayer funds were distributed by the Obama State Department to two sister organizations with clear political goals of undermining – indeed, unseating – the sitting prime minister of a U.S. ally,” the ACLJ reported. Journalist Makes a Bizarre Claim Against Sarah Sanders After Heated Interaction

White House correspondent April Ryan made a bizarre claim about her heated interaction with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders Thursday . . .

Ryan appeared on CNN and claimed that Huckabee Sanders made an oblique reference to a threat used on the streets during their interaction earlier Thursday.

“You were blind-sided,” Ryan said, recalling her question to Sanders. “She acknowledged she did not know. And then to go into um, the personal, it was not personal. It was not personal. What it shows me is, is that she is feeling that she was in a vice, you know of sorts.”

“But she went ‘street’ to me,” she claimed. “To say something like, you know, ‘you don’t know me,’ in certain sectors of this nation, people understand what ‘you don’t know me’ means. It’s very ‘street,’ and it leads to a fight, a physical fight.”

“So I’m not there to fight,” she said, “I’m there to ask questions and I’ve been doing it for twenty-one years, and very well. And I’ve had relationships with press secretaries, I just don’t seem to understand why these last two press secretaries like to point me out.” (Read more from “Journalist Makes a Bizarre Claim Against Sarah Sanders After Heated Interaction” HERE)

Disloyal, Openly Leftist McCain Now Says He Regrets Picking Palin as Running Mate

By The Hill. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he regrets choosing former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) to be his running mate during the 2008 presidential campaign.

The New York Times reported on Saturday that McCain, while still defending Palin’s performance, said in his upcoming book, “The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and other Appreciations,” that he wishes he had instead selected former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) . . .

“It was sound advice that I could reason for myself,” he writes. “But my gut told me to ignore it and I wish I had.”

In a new HBO documentary, McCain goes on to say that not choosing Lieberman was “another mistake” that he made in his political career.

Lieberman told the Times that he didn’t know McCain felt that way. (Read more from “Disloyal, Openly Leftist Mccain Now Says He Regrets Picking Palin as Running Mate” HERE)

At His Ranch, John McCain Shares Memories and Regrets with Friends

By The NY Times. Mr. McCain, 81, is still in the fight, struggling with the grim diagnosis he received last summer: He has been leading conference calls with his staff in a strained voice, grinding out three-hour physical therapy sessions and rewarding himself most days with a tall glass of Absolut Elyx on ice.

But his health has become a matter of immediate political interest. Mr. McCain’s future may determine whether Republicans retain their single-seat Senate majority: Should the senator die or resign before the end of May, there will most likely be a special election for the seat this fall. But under Arizona law, if he remains in office into June, there will probably not be an election for the seat until 2020, which Republicans would prefer given Democratic enthusiasm this year.

The matter of succession for the McCain seat — a topic of such intense discussion that Republicans officials here joke that Washington lawyers know Arizona election law better than any lawyer in the state — is officially verboten among party officials and the senator’s friends. They are determined to reward him with the same good ending that his friend Senator Edward M. Kennedy enjoyed before he succumbed to brain cancer in 2009. Developing: State Pushes Bill That Appears to Ban Sale of Bibles

A new California pro-LGBTQ bill that would ban the sale or distribution of materials related to “conversion therapy” easily passed the state’s assembly on Thursday.

CBS News affiliate KOVR reported the final tally was 50-14. Assembly Bill 2943 now heads to the Democrat-controlled Senate.

The bill would make it an unlawful business practice to engage in any “transaction intended to result or that results in the sale or lease of goods or services to any consumer” aimed at “sexual orientation change efforts with an individual.”

Goods would include any books or written materials, while services would encompass counseling individuals seeking to address same-sex attractions.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “One key part of the debate centers on whether Assembly Bill 2943 would stretch beyond businesses that charge for (conversion) programs and extend to printed documents, even Bibles.”

The Bible clearly teaches that homosexual conduct is a sin and instructs Christians to abstain from it.

The Apostle Paul records that people he ministered to “were” homosexuals among other types of sinners, but they were transformed by the Spirit of God — through the renewing of their minds — into their new identities as born again children of God.

The Times reported that an analysis by the Assembly Judiciary Committee says the bill would apply only to services that purport to change a person’s sexual orientation and are offered “on a commercial basis, as well as the advertising and offering of such services.”

However, Randy Thomasson with SaveCalifornia.com told CBN News that the bill’s actual language is very broad and can easily be brought to bear on Christian ministries.

“So, this is a pastor speaking, you pay a ticket to hear him speak. He speaks about overcoming same-sex desires. Hey, that could be outlawed. A church sells a book about overcoming same-sex desires. There’s a sale, there’s a transaction, that could be banned,” Thomasson said.

“This is very expansive, very tyrannical and absolutely squashing free speech, religious freedom and basic choice of people. This is an anti-freedom, anti-American bill,” he added.

A basic freedom taken is the ability to seek the treatment of one’s own choice.

“AB 2943 would start by saying, ok, nobody can get counseling to overcome same-sex desires… ok, so no help for adult children, adults who were molested as kids and now they are adults and they say I want help to overcome these feelings. No help for you,” Thomasson explained.

Asked specifically about whether Bibles could be banned, Thomasson said it is entirely foreseeable that people might try to enforce the law in that manner.

“Well, you could see this law going into effect. A church bookstore selling the Bible, of course, selling a book about marriage or sexual purity or overcoming homosexuality or overcoming trans-sexuality. You could see a member of the public or even a member of the state government coming and saying, ‘Hey, that’s illegal,’” he stated.

The religious liberty group Alliance Defending Freedom released a legal memo in opposition to AB 2943 last month explaining why it likely does not pass constitutional muster regarding freedom of speech or the free exercise of religion.

“At its core, AB 2943 outlaws speech, whether offered by a licensed counselor, a best-selling author, or even a minister or religious leader,” the memo states.

“It targets a specific message—that an adult who is experiencing unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion can find help to address those issues—for censorship. The breadth of this censorship is staggering.”

Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, also expressed concern about the bill.

“This proposed legislation goes to the very foundations of free speech and religious liberty and is both reckless and harmful,” Moore said in a statement Tuesday. “This bill essentially outlaws views of sexual ethics held by most Christians, Orthodox Jews, Muslims and many others, all over the world and throughout history. If passed, it would have a chilling effect on religious institutions teaching their own beliefs, and would be a harm to all citizens, religious or not, by eroding basic First Amendment protections.

“My hope is the California Senate would demonstrate a commitment to the Bill of Rights and refuse to pass this deeply destructive bill.” (Read more from “Developing: State Pushes Bill That Appears to Ban Sale of Bibles” HERE)

John Mccain: I Don’t Want Trump at My Funeral

Senator John McCain, who is suffering from a very serious form of brain cancer, says he would prefer if President Donald Trump skipped his funeral and sent Vice President Mike Pence in his stead.

Speaking to NBC News, friends of McCain confirmed that his cancer is aggressive and that he doesn’t “know how much longer I’ll be here.” He is currently in Arizona recovering from intestinal surgery. McCain and his family aren’t admitting that McCain is in the final stages of his life, but The New York Times reports that visitors to the McCain ranch are unusually effusive and helping “take care of unfinished business.”

When he does go, though, McCain doesn’t want President Donald Trump at his funeral. Instead, friends say, he’d prefer if Vice President Mike Pence represented the White House at whatever events might follow his death. (Read more from “John McCain: I Don’t Want Trump at My Funeral” HERE)

Top Retired CIA, FBI, DOJ, and NSA Officials: Ongoing Coup Against Duly-Elected President, Dire Threat to Republic

Former CIA Officer and whistleblower Kevin Shipp says what is going on with Donald J. Trump “is an ongoing coup to remove a duly elected President.” Shipp contends, “This is a huge constitutional crisis like the country has never seen before. This makes Watergate look like a Sunday school class.”

On Friday, Shipp and other retired top officials at the CIA, FBI, DOJ and NSA held a press conference and demanded Attorney General Jeff Sessions prosecute top Obama era officials for obvious crimes against the incoming Trump Administration. Shipp says, “We have a coup within our government right now at the senior levels at the CIA, DOJ and the FBI attempting to unseat a duly elected President who was elected by the American people and remove him from office. . . .This is, at worst, treason with senior officials in the shadow government or Deep State . . . to attack Donald Trump and remove him from office. . . . We have not seen anything like this since the Presidency of John F. Kennedy (JFK), when CIA Director Allen Dulles attacked him, and we saw what happened there. . . . There is crystal clear evidence that the CIA was, at least, involved with the cover-up of the JFK assassination. Now, we have the same thing happening again. . . . Remember what Chuck Schumer said, and it was chilling. He said, ‘If you cross the intelligence community, they can hit back at you six ways from Sunday.’ That’s what we are seeing now. It’s collusion or a coup with senior officials at the FBI, DOJ and CIA along with Robert Mueller to unseat an elected president.”

Shipp goes on to explain, “There is essentially a civil war involving parts of senior management and upper parts of our government that is occurring in the United States. It’s between the ‘Dark’ side and the ‘Constitutional’ side. There has never been anything like this in history. It is extremely serious, and this is an extremely serious hour for our government and especially for our constitutional freedoms. . . . This essentially is a global criminal cabal that has penetrated into our government and now has senior level officials colluding and, I would argue, conspiring to unseat this president.” (Read more from “Top Retired CIA, FBI, DOJ, and NSA Officials: Ongoing Coup Against Duly-Elected President, Dire Threat to Republic” HERE)

Vice President’s Physician Who Targeted Admiral Ronny Jackson Resigns

Vice President Mike Pence’s physician, Army Dr. Jennifer Pena, resigned from the White House Wednesday according to several senior Administration officials. Pena’s resignation comes just as the allegations she brought against President Trump’s physician Adm. Ronny Jackson were proven to be unsubstantiated. The onslaught of unfounded allegations – also propagated by Montana Sen. Jon Tester – led to Jackson’s decision to withdraw his name from consideration after being nominated by Trump to lead the Veteran’s Affairs Administration.

“This is a rift between two doctors. Really has nothing to do with the Vice President or, sadly, the second lady. The effort to discredit Admiral Jackson is a personal vendetta and the Vice President’s office like POTUS’ stands by him,” a White House official told this reporter.

Pena briefed Democratic members of the Veteran’s Affairs Committee last month on the allegations. She accused Jackson of over-prescribing medication to White House staff, claimed he wrecked a government vehicle after leaving a Secret Service party under the influence and that he was disruptive at work and on trips. None of those allegations were found to be accurate. Pena, was assigned to Pence by the White House Medical Unit and White House Military office. Tester contends that the allegations against Jackson were supported by 23 people but did not release the names of those making the charges.

On Wednesday, Pena told colleagues in the White House Medical Unit that she was resigning and moving on, according to sources with knowledge. She officially left the White House on Friday, they added.

Tech CEO Exposes Shady Motive Behind Facebook’s New Dating Service

While Facebook’s new Dating application — revealed at its F8 developers conference earlier this week — hasn’t entirely taken everyone’s eyes off of Zuckerberg’s congressional testimony, the Cambridge Analytica scandal or the censorship of politically-unpopular voices, it certainly hasn’t hurt. . .

Didier Rappaport, CEO of online dating platform Happn, says the timing of the announcement makes it appear an awful lot like a distraction as opposed to a serious move into the dating market, implying it was designed to make the social media giant’s problems “disappear” . . .

“It’s quite interesting to note this announcement has been done just a few weeks after the Cambridge Analytica concerns,” he added, telling Business Insider that it might have been launched in part so that Facebook wasn’t forced to “talk about the past.”

Rappaport also said the fact that Facebook didn’t acquire a more established dating app shows they’re trying to ameliorate another problem: falling usage totals.

While Facebook’s profits were up in the final quarter of last year, Deutsche Welle reported in February, time spent on the platform was down globally by 50 million hours a day in 2017 and the number of Facebook users in the key U.S. and Canadian markets fell for the first time.
