Young Mom Found Dead Days After Being Arrested for Repeatedly Calling 911, Begging for Help

A young Oklahoma mom has been found dead on a barge on the Mississippi River — days after she was arrested for repeatedly calling 911 pleading for help.

Hailey Silas’ body was found about 7 a.m. Saturday while the barge’s crew was performing an inspection while traveling the Mississippi River near Shelby Forest in Tennessee, WREG reported.

Less than a week earlier, the 22-year-old mom was arrested for calling 911 several times Sunday from a gas station across from Southland Casino, according to the outlet.

She reportedly asked authorities to give her a ride out of West Memphis, Arkansas, because she was scared of something and was having a “panic attack.”

After Silas was taken to a station in handcuffs, she asked to talk to her parents, saying she was scared and confused, according to WREG. (Read more from “Young Mom Found Dead Days After Being Arrested for Repeatedly Calling 911, Begging for Help” HERE)

Maine Shooting Suspect Found Dead of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

During a Friday night press conference, officials in Maine revealed the body of Robert Card was discovered in a recycling yard in Lisbon, Maine. His body was still in the same clothing that Card was pictured wearing in the photographs police released Wednesday night.

Gov. Janet Mills (D) spoke at the press conference, saying, “The Maine State Police located the body of Robert Card, he is dead.”

She added, “I’m breathing a sigh of relief knowing that Card is no longer a threat to anyone.”

Details on Card’s death are scant, but WCVB indicated the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office announced, “The suspect in Wednesday night’s shootings has been located and is deceased.” (Read more from “Maine Shooting Suspect Found Dead of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound” HERE)

Poll Shows Alarming Support for Hamas but Likely Understates the Problem

According to a new Harvard/Harris poll, only the police and military are more respected than Israel.

It’s heartening that Americans overwhelmingly support civilization over the Islamofascists of Gaza and Iran.

Then again, “Palestinian Authority” gets 17% support, and Hamas has a 14% positive rating — which is to say 14% of your neighbors have taken the side of a medieval religious cult that’s vicious enough to cut Jewish babies out of mothers before beheading them.

If 14% of Americans supported ISIS or al Qaeda or the Nazi Party, we would probably be concerned.

Anyway, those numbers seem far too small to me. I think there’s a good reason why. (Read more from “Poll Shows Alarming Support for Hamas but Likely Understates the Problem” HERE)

Biden Defense Department’s Nuclear Weapons Management Presents Major Risk, per Gov Accountability Office

The Department of Defense’s (DOD) current nuclear weapons management presents a major risk to national security, per the latest Government Accountability Office (GAO) report.

The GAO report, published on Thursday, found that the DOD has failed to resolve many oversight issues since 2021. The GAO — Congress’ auditing, evaluation, and investigative arm — also noted that problematic discontinuity in nuclear oversight structure began in the final week of the Trump administration.

“DOD has significantly modified its nuclear enterprise oversight structure multiple times since 2021, putting oversight continuity at risk and potentially affecting senior leaders’ ability to make informed decisions,” stated the GAO.

It was on January 14, 2021, six days before President Joe Biden took office, that Acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller replaced the Nuclear Deterrent Enterprise Review Group (NDERG), which had addressed issues from nuclear enterprise reviews since 2014, with another group: the Secretary of Defense Nuclear Transition Review (SNTR). DOD then replaced the SNTR with another group last year: the Deputy’s Management Action Group (DMAG). California City the First in U.S. To Condemn Israel, Accuse Jewish State of ‘Ethnic Cleansing’ in Gaza

A California city has become the first in the US to pass a resolution condemning Israel — accusing the Jewish nation of committing “ethnic cleansing and collective punishment.”

The resolution passed by the Richmond City Council around 1 a.m. Wednesday states, in part, that Palestinians in Gaza “are currently facing a campaign of ethnic cleansing and collective punishment by the state of Israel.”

That “is considered a war crime under international law,” the resolution states.

It also calls for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire and the safe passage of substantial humanitarian aid to Gaza,” as well as an “end to Israeli apartheid and the occupation and blockade of Palestinian land by Israeli military forces.”

“The city of Richmond opposes all existing and future military aid to Israel,” it concludes, while attempting to express support for Jewish members of its community. (Read more from “California City the First in U.S. To Condemn Israel, Accuse Jewish State of ‘Ethnic Cleansing’ in Gaza” HERE)

U.S. Strikes Iran-Linked Sites in Retaliation for Attacks on U.S. Troops

The U.S. military launched airstrikes early Friday on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said, in retaliation for a slew of drone and missile attacks against U.S. bases and personnel in the region that began early last week.

The U.S. strikes reflect the Biden administration’s determination to maintain a delicate balance. The U.S. wants to hit Iranian-backed groups suspected of targeting the U.S. as strongly as possible to deter future aggression, possibly fueled by Israel’s war against Hamas, while also working to avoid inflaming the region and provoking a wider conflict. . .

According to the Pentagon, there have been at least 12 attacks on U.S. bases and personnel in Iraq and four in Syria since Oct. 17. Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said 21 U.S. personnel were injured in two of those assaults that used drones to target al-Asad Airbase in Iraq and al-Tanf Garrison in Syria. Top Hunter Biden Prosecutor, FBI ‘Constricted’ Internal Communications, Testimony Shows

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss and the FBI restricted information-sharing with former U.S. Attorney Scott Brady, who needed assistance from the Justice Department (DOJ) to maintain open lines of communication, according to new testimony.

Brady received support from the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General’s Office (PADAG) to facilitate communication with the FBI and Weiss, according to a transcript of Brady’s testimony to the House Judiciary Committee reviewed by the Daily Caller. Weiss is the lead prosecutor in the Hunter Biden investigation.

“This is between David and me, between Mr. Weiss and me. He and I would speak on a semi-regular basis, but usually it was when certain issues would rise up to us that we needed to speak directly and resolved,” Brady told the committee.

When Brady served as U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, he and Weiss spoke personally to share information regarding investigative matters. However, Brady faced challenges in getting the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office to communicate on a regular basis and needed assistance from the PADAG to facilitate discussions with Weiss, according to the transcript.

CNN Uses Misleading Data to Push Gun Control After Mass Shooting

Another mass shooting means another opportunity for Democrats to push their radical gun control agenda, in which they claim it is the guns that kill people.

On Wednesday, after a mass shooting in Lewistown, Maine, CNN highlighted misleading data that killed at least 22 people.

The Left-wing outlet claimed that there have been 525 “mass shootings” in 2023, adding that the Maine shootings contributed “to a list of 565 reported across the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.”

However, as pointed out by Breitbart News, data from the Gun Violence Archive is conducted by changing the definition of a “mass shooting.” Therefore, shootings caused by drive-by incidents, double or triple homicides, gang violence, and other related crimes are counted as “mass shootings,” leading to skewed data.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, incidents where a “minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident” are considered “mass shootings.” (Read more from “CNN Uses Misleading Data to Push Gun Control After Mass Shooting” HERE)

Report: 2023 Marks Worst Year Ever at the Border

2023 has been the worst year on record at the border, with a staggering 3.2 million encounters nationwide, according to a report from the House Committee on Homeland Security.

“Encounters at the Southwest border (SWB) in FY2023 increased over 40% since FY 2021, 4% compared to FY2022, and more than 100% compared to FY2019,” the report explains. A total of 2.47 million illegal immigrant encounters were reported at the southern border in fiscal year 2023.

But there were also an additional 189,402 illegal immigrant encounters at the northern border during 2023, marking roughly an increase of 80,000 encounters since last year and a shocking jump up from just 27,180 northern border encounters in 2021.

The committee factsheet highlighted the increase in border encounters in 2023 compared to previous years, calling the figure “another unprecedented milestone under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and President Joe Biden’s open-borders policies.”

Overall, there was a total of 3.2 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide, a press release from the committee reported. But the shocking figure does not include the 1.7 million known illegal immigrant gotaways who’ve entered the country under the Biden administration since fiscal year 2021. The One Detail That Torpedoes Any Gun Control Narrative in the Wake of Maine Shootings

Lewiston, Maine, the state’s second-largest city, was rocked by a horrific mass shooting that left up to 22 people dead and dozens injured. The suspect, Robert Card, remains at large. The manhunt roped in federal and state law enforcement agencies, but despite reportedly finding his vehicle near Lisbon at a boat ramp at Papermill Trail Park, Card is still missing. . .

I hate to get into the politics of this, but Democrats have already started stoking the flames of the gun control fires. That would happen anyway, but can we wait until all the details are released and the damage assessed before we get into this policy fight? We already had the information corrected. Would you like to guess which two things came up regarding the suspect that we’ve heard many times before concerning these crimes? He was known to law enforcement and had severe mental health problems. . .

Card is reportedly a 20-year Army veteran and a trained firearms instructor but had episodes of hearing voices in his head. He made threats to attack a National Guard base in Saco. In the summer of 2023, he was committed for two weeks at a mental health facility:
