Rookie Georgia Police Officer Resigns After Department Bars Him From Expressing Views on Traditional Marriage

Rookie Georgia police officer Jacob Kersey resigned after his superiors threatened to terminate him for expressing his views on traditional marriage, the Daily Signal reported today.

“I never would have thought I would have been placed in a situation where I have to choose between my Christian faith and my dream job,” 19-year-old Kersey said Wednesday in a Facebook post. “I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given to be a police officer. I do not take that honor and responsibility lightly. However, my integrity and Christian beliefs are at the core of who I am, and I will not abandon them,” he added.

Kersey’s career in law enforcement was cut short following a brief Facebook post on January 2, 2023, the Daily Signal reported. In the post, he expressed a widely-held religious belief that marriage, designed by God, does not include homosexual unions.

“God designed marriage. Marriage refers to Christ and the church,” Kersey said in the post. “That’s why there is no such thing as homosexual marriage,” the post concluded.

The next day, Kersey’s supervisor requested he remove the post; Kersey refused, and was warned he could be terminated if he did not comply, according to the Daily Signal’s reporting. Shortly after that, Maj. Bradwick L. Sherrod ordered him to “return everything he had that belonged to the city,” and Kersey was placed on paid administrative leave while the city investigated, the outlet also reported. Facebook’s Decision on Trump Ban Will Probably Infuriate Liberals

Donald Trump has now been fully reinstated on social media. Twitter released him from the bonds of political correctness jail upon Elon Musk’s takeover. Facebook and Instagram have now followed, insisting that “new guardrails” will be constructed to “deter repeat offenses” (via NBC News):

Former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts are being reinstated, the social media giant Meta announced Wednesday — a little more than two years after he was suspended from the platforms over incendiary posts on the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, said Trump’s accounts will be reinstated “in the coming weeks” and come with “new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”

Those guardrails will include “heightened penalties for repeat offenses — penalties which will apply to other public figures whose accounts are reinstated from suspensions related to civil unrest under our updated protocol. In the event that Mr. Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation,” Clegg said on the company’s website.

Pelosis Sold Google Stock Just Before DOJ Announced Antitrust Lawsuit

Democratic California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and her husband, Paul, unloaded more than $1.5 million in Alphabet stock one month before the Department of Justice announced an antitrust lawsuit against the tech giant.

The Pelosis sold 30,000 shares of Alphabet, the holding company for Google and several other firms, on Dec. 20, 21, and 28. They received between $1.5 million and $3 million for the total sale, netting capital gains of more than $600, according to a financial disclosure form Pelosi, filed on Jan. 12. The DOJ announced its lawsuit against Alphabet on Tuesday.

Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment on the matter.

The DOJ’s lawsuit alleges that Google has systematically bought out competitors and used its advertising to promote its own products. Alphabet stock dropped $2.71 on Tuesday, but has risen $6.04 since Pelosi sold her stock. (Read more from “Pelosis Sold Google Stock Just Before DOJ Announced Antitrust Lawsuit” HERE)

Multiple Reports Say White House Hid Classified Doc Scandal

Multiple reports from establishment media outlets indicate the White House and the Justice Department agreed to hide President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal from the American public, despite claims of transparency after it was leaked to the press.

At least three times the establishment media reported that Biden and the DOJ agreed to hide the scandal from public view with likely had no plans to disclose it until the scandal was leaked to CBS News on January 9, weeks after the initial trove was found by Biden’s personal lawyers November 2.

White House officials are reportedly suspicious about how Biden’s classified document scandal was leaked to the press after only a select group of White House and DOJ officials knew about the violation.

The latest report of the alleged coverup came Wednesday from the New York Times, which recounted its previous reporting and the initial report by the Washington Post on January 19.

“Democratic allies are increasingly frustrated by a White House that hid the discovery of secret documents from the public for two months and, even once it was reported, provided only partial information, then declared the search complete only to have more papers turn up,” the Times reported. “They promptly contacted the authorities [DOJ] after the documents were found and have sought to work collaboratively to find any other stray papers.” (Read more from “Multiple Reports Say White House Hid Classified Doc Scandal” HERE)

Why Is Kamala So Silent Regarding President Biden’s Document Scandal?

Vice President Kamala Harris has been eerily quiet about President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal, causing at least some Republicans to believe Harris could be angling to push Biden out of the way for a shot at the Oval Office.

Though Harris has delivered several public statements since the scandal was leaked to the press on January 9, she has neither supported Biden nor condemned any wrongdoing. Her public comments during this timeframe have largely remained on script, ranging from global warming, Venn diagrams, electricity, school buses, and the southern border invasion.

The communications strategy appears noticeably different from her attacks on former President Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified materials. In August, Harris slammed Trump as “irresponsible” for questioning the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago.

“It’s just highly irresponsible of anyone who calls themselves a leader and certainly anyone who represents the United States of America to engage in rhetoric for the sake of some political objective that can result in harm to law enforcement officers and agents,” Harris said.

Former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), the onetime chair of the House Intelligence Committee from 2015 to 2019 and now the CEO of Trump’s Truth Social social media platform, told Breitbart News that Harris’ silence suggests her intention to replace Biden as president. Secret’s Out: Key Development on Biden Visitor Logs in Documents Case

The Secret Service is “gathering” information on the heels of Republican senators demanding the agency turn over a list of “all individuals” who have visited locations where President Joe Biden’s classified documents have been found, the agency told the Washington Examiner.

Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson wrote to the Secret Service on Monday in a letter first obtained by the Washington Examiner and requested the visitor logs. Now, the Secret Service said it is evaluating that letter and is “currently in the process of gathering” various information, as well as “working through appropriate channels” to locate what “may be responsive to Congressional inquiries.”

“We are in receipt of Senator Grassley’s letter and it is currently is being reviewed,” said Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, adding that the agency doesn’t maintain “formal and comprehensive visitor logs for protectee residences.”

“What I mean by that is there is not a system of validated visitor logs like you find at the White House or other government facilities that fall under the Presidential Records Act,” he continued in an email to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday morning. None Of Biden’s Excuses For Having Classified Documents Make Any Sense; When Will the FBI Search Hunter Biden’s Home for Classified Documents?

By The Federalist. With every new cache of classified documents discovered in Joe Biden’s possession, the president’s excuses become more farfetched.

Biden’s defenders like to stress that the president has “cooperated” with investigators. No harm, no foul. Ana Navarro of “The View” argues “it’s very important to understand the difference between cooperation and obstruction.” Neal Katyal snarks that it’s “amazing how you don’t need a search warrant when a President is actually willing to invite investigators inside.” . . .

Which brings us to another pervasive defense of the president, which asserts that Biden had “immediately” handed over documents found in his “think tank,” just as protocol dictates. No harm, no foul. This claim is also preposterous. All we know for sure is that Biden was in possession of classified documents, including some top secret ones, for at least six years — perhaps decades, since some of the documents date back to his time in the Senate. That, at best, points to a pattern of mishandling documents over many years, not a single filing mistake. That is true regardless of what Trump did or didn’t do.

Even if we allow that the first small batch of classified documents was accidentally stashed in his Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, why did it take six weeks for Biden’s lawyers — who have no security clearance — to search the president’s garage and “adjacent rooms”? If they really believed that the documents found in Penn Biden documents were just a weird oversight, why start rummaging through boxes in the president’s garage? For that matter, why did Biden tap lawyers, rather than interns or movers or aides, to search reams of files and folders that had been sitting in drawers — allegedly undisturbed for years — at Biden’s “think tank” in the first place? Did a government or law enforcement agency contact Biden in connection to those documents? . . .

The problem, though, is that the White House claimed on numerous occasions that Biden had no inkling that classified documents were in his possession. Let’s say the president never opened any of those documents to assist in writing his memories or to teach his class (the nine times he showed up for a million-dollar gig). It is highly improbable that aides packing these boxes, divvying up documents into specific categories for Biden’s use, would not have noticed six “items” potentially filled with classified documents. Surely you remember the leaked picture of marked classified documents splayed across the floor at Mar-a-Lago? When Will the FBI Search Hunter Biden’s Home for Classified Documents?

By The Hill. Another day, another tranche of classified documents found at one of President Biden’s homes or former office. Republicans are demanding visitor logs for Biden’s home in Wilmington, Del., though the White House says there aren’t any. But there’s one person we can be sure visited the president’s homes and possibly his Penn Biden Center office: son Hunter Biden. So, when will the FBI start searching his home?

We know Hunter has engaged in lots of mostly shady foreign deals, trafficking on his name and connections rather than his expertise, which has brought him millions of dollars. So, he has a motive for wanting access to certain classified documents.

And we know Hunter lives very well. As The Hill reported last April, “Hunter Biden, who is under federal investigation for his foreign business dealings, has been staying in Malibu throughout his father’s presidency, spending $20,000 of his own wealth each month to rent out a mansion, according to the report.”

And there’s a third reason why Hunter might be interested in classified documents. CNN reports, “Among the items from Joe Biden’s time as vice president discovered in a private office last fall are 10 classified documents including US intelligence memos and briefing materials that covered topics including Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom, according to a source familiar with the matter.” (Emphasis added.)

CNN adds that the documents were dated between 2013 and 2016. Would Hunter have had an interest in classified Ukrainian documents at that time? (Read more from “When Will the FBI Search Hunter Biden’s Home for Classified Documents?” HERE)

Report: U.S. Moving Towards Delivering Abrams Tanks To Ukraine, Germany To Also Send Tanks

According to a Tuesday report, United States officials have said that the Biden administration is moving in the direction of delivering a number of Abrams M1 tanks to Ukraine with a potential update on the plan this week.

The news would come in coordination with a move from Germany, which would also send some of its Leopard 2 tanks, as well as allowing more tanks made by Germany to be sent by other countries, according to The Wall Street Journal.

On Tuesday, Spiegel Politics reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is now also planning to send tanks to Ukraine. Poland has also officially requested approval from Germany to send Leopard tanks to the country.

“The Germans have already received our request for consent to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine,” Poland Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said. “I also appeal to the German side to join the coalition of countries supporting Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks.”

The United States, Germany, and other countries have contended over the delivery of tanks to war-torn Ukraine in order to help the nation in its fight against Russia. (Read more from “Report: U.S. Moving Towards Delivering Abrams Tanks to Ukraine, Germany to Also Send Tanks” HERE)

Justice Department Sues Google

The Biden administration’s Justice Department and several state attorneys general filed suit against Google on Tuesday for allegedly monopolizing various digital advertising technologies.

The agency claimed Google monopolizes the tools that website publishers use to sell advertisements and that companies utilize to purchase advertisements. The civil antitrust suit, which follows another complaint issued by the Trump administration’s Justice Department three years ago related to the company’s alleged monopoly over search advertising, is backed by the attorneys general of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Virginia.

“Today’s complaint alleges that Google has used anticompetitive, exclusionary, and unlawful conduct to eliminate or severely diminish any threat to its dominance over digital advertising technologies,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a press release. “The Justice Department will vigorously enforce our antitrust laws to protect consumers, safeguard competition, and ensure economic fairness and opportunity for all.”

Shares for Alphabet fell nearly 2% on Tuesday; the company’s stock price has declined 25% over the past year, exceeding 9% decreases in the S&P 500 and 18% decreases in the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite.

The Justice Department claimed that Google has engaged in a “pattern of acquisitions to obtain control over key digital advertising tools” and has manipulated advertising auctions to “deprive rivals of scale.” Such moves may violate the Sherman Act, which outlaws “monopolization, attempted monopolization, or conspiracy or combination to monopolize” deemed unreasonable by the court system.
