Former Trump Press Secretary Becomes State’s First Female Governor

Republican Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders won her race against Democratic nominee Chris Jones, according to multiple election forecasters.

The former White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump had won 71.6%, while Jones won 26.9% with 4% reporting, according to the AP. Sanders is the first female governor of Arkansas, and her father, Mike Huckabee, previously served as Arkansas governor from 1996 to 2007.

The state’s current executive, Republican Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, is leaving office due to term limits. Trump had previously encouraged Sanders to run for governor in the state. (Read more from “Former Trump Press Secretary Becomes State’s First Female Governor” HERE)

Bomb Threat at Louisiana Polling Location; Site Moved, Secretary of State Reports

A bomb threat reported at a Louisiana polling location has led to a change of venue and increased security, according to the secretary of state.

Louisana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin announced the change of the polling location from the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy on Loyola Drive in Baton Rouge to Audubon Elementary School on Tuesday.

“I am exceedingly grateful to Kenner Chief of Police Keith Conley and Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto for their prompt response and thorough investigation, which appears to show that this was never targeted toward voters or election workers. I also applaud our department’s elections staff and Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court Jon Gegenheimer for this quick response to move the location and inform voters of the emergency move,” Ardoin said in a statement.

Personnel have been stationed at the original location to direct voters to the new venue. Voters signed up for electronic notifications were notified by email.

“It was not a threat to elections, voters or election workers,” John Tobler, a spokesman for the Louisiana secretary of state, said, according to Fox News.

DeSantis on His Historic Blowout Victory: ‘Florida Is Where Woke Goes to Die’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) responded powerfully to his blowout victory in Tuesday night’s midterm election, declaring that Florida is where wokeness goes to die.

The remarks from DeSantis, who is widely considered a top 2024 presidential contender, comes after he easily won re-election with a 19-point victory over Democrat challenger Charlie Crist.

DeSantis was up by more than 1.44 million votes with 88% of the votes counted, a historic gain over his roughly 30,000-vote win against Democrat Andrew Gillum in 2018.

DeSantis’ victory in the state was so dominate that he was up by double digits in 60 of Florida’s 67 counties.

“We have embraced freedom,” DeSantis declared to a raucous crowd. “We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject woke ideology.”

: *CNN* Fact Checks Biden’s Midterm Misinfo; Biden Promises Climate Activist: ‘No More Drilling’… but Days Ago He Blamed Oil Companies for Not Drilling Enough

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden has made several false or misleading claims while campaigning for congressional Democrats before the Midterm Elections, according to CNN. . .

However, left-wing CNN highlighted several instances on Saturday where the president made false or misleading statements in October and November. . .

CLAIM: On Thursday in New Mexico, Biden stated former President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts only benefited the top one percent, a claim he also made at this year’s State of the Union address.

VERDICT: While the tax cuts benefited top earners, middle-class Americans also received significant tax cuts in the following years after the legislation was signed. As Breitbart News’s John Carney writes:

Eighty-two percent of American middle-class households received a tax cut and Americans altogether received an average tax cut of $1,260. Ninety percent of Americans saw an increase in take-home pay. The tax cuts raised wage growth by 3.3 percent and helped foster historic lows in unemployment.

Biden Promises Climate Activist at Rally in New York: ‘No More Drilling’… but Days Ago He Blamed Oil Companies for Not Drilling Enough

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden told a climate activist on Sunday he would not allow any new drilling in the United States, just days after he complained that oil companies are not drilling enough.

“No more drilling. There is no more drilling,” Biden said, speaking to a climate activist as he finished up a rally in New York for Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY). “I haven’t formed any new drilling.”

A young woman standing front and center held up a sign protesting Biden for allowing drilling on federal lands. . .

Biden’s comment to the climate activist differed from his statements on Wednesday when he blamed oil companies for not drilling enough.

“We haven’t slowed them down at all. They should be drilling more than they’re doing now,” he said at a rally in New Mexico. “If they were drilling more, we’d have more relief at the pump.” (Read more from “Biden Promises Climate Activist at Rally in New York: ‘No More Drilling’… but Days Ago He Blamed Oil Companies for Not Drilling Enough” HERE)

Poll Worker Reportedly Ousted for Pre-Selecting Democrats on Machines

An Indiana election office reportedly ejected a Democrat poll worker over allegations that he had pressured poll-goers against voting for certain candidates and even pre-selected Democratic candidates on a voting machine last week, local election officials told Fox News.

The incidents took place at a polling place in Carmel, Indiana, under the Hamilton County Election Office. Hamilton County election administrator Beth Sheller declined to confirm the poll worker’s identity in an interview with Fox News Digital, but detailed a report from the inspector at the polling location.

Sheller stated that the inspector had learned of two separate incidents that may constitute electioneering and election interference. The poll worker, first identified by Chalkboard Review executive director Tony Kinnett as James Zheng, is now reportedly being investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and Sheller says she hopes to see Zheng prosecuted.

The first incident took place early Thursday evening as a group of education activists stood outside the Carmel polling place and advocated for pro-parent school board candidates. Sheller says the worker spoke with a pair of black voters who entered the polling station and urged them not to vote for the pro-parent candidates, arguing that the activists outside were “racist.”

That pair of voters then cast their ballots and approached the activists outside, informing them of what the poll worker had told them. The activists, which included a campaign worker for one of the candidates, then raised the issue with the workers inside. China Is Attempting to Influence Us Kids by Offering an ‘Opium Version’ of TikTok, Expert Says

The Chinese government offers its children a more limited, beneficial version of the popular app TikTok than the “opium version” offered to kids in the United States, an expert said in a recent report.

Tristan Harris, co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, told “60 Minutes” Saturday that, according to TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, the version of TikTok given to Chinese consumers provides children with a vastly different experience. The Chinese equivalent of TikTok, Douyin, gives kids under 14 years old a 40-minute daily limit and serves them patriotic and educational content.

“They don’t ship that version of TikTok to the rest of the world,” Harris said. “It’s almost like they recognize that technology’s influencing kids’ development, and they make their domestic version a spinach version of TikTok, while they ship the opium version to the U.S. and the rest of the world.”

White House ‘Warns’ Elections Results May Not Be Clear for ‘Days’ After Election

The 2022 midterm election results won’t be clear on Election Day and the final tally won’t come for “a few days,” warned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday afternoon.

Her statement comes just hours before polls are slated to open in many locations across the United States, which will determine what party controls the House, Senate, or both. Many governor’s seats are also up for grabs.

“We may not know all the winners of elections for a few days. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner. That’s how this is supposed to work,” Jean-Pierre told reporters at the White House. “You heard the president say this last night,” she said.

Some politicians, including former President Jimmy Carter in a 2005 report, and other critics have said that delayed vote-counting efforts undermine Americans’ confidence in their elections and raise the risk of fraud.

Jean-Pierre added that President Joe Biden will address the country on Wednesday following the midterm results. If Republicans control both the Senate and House, they will be able to stymie Biden’s legislative agenda for the next two years, including on taxes, providing military funds to Ukraine, and potential COVID-19-related restrictions. Early Voters in Tennessee Get Wrong Ballot

A voting mix-up in Davidson County, Tennessee, caused 438 voters to cast their votes in the wrong races when they were given incorrect ballots Sunday.

The mistake was because of a “district misassignment,” according to county officials, who then released a list of people affected by the mix-up. They must go to the Davidson County Elections Commission Office to vote in the midterms on Tuesday, reported WSMV4 TV station.

In an interview, Fox 17 News reporter Payton Muse asked election officials in Davidson County how they were ensuring voters would not be deterred from going to the polls, considering there was already a voting mistake.

“I think our message is we have worked endless hours to check people’s precincts to make sure that they would have access to the correct ballot, before they show up on Tuesday,” Jeff Roberts with Davidson County Elections said. (Read more from “Early Voters in Tennessee Get Wrong Ballot” HERE)

City To Decide On Lowering Voting Age For Certain Elections

A city in California is deciding whether or not to allow sixteen-year-olds to vote in local elections in a ballot measure on Election Day.

Culver City, California, residents are able to decide on a ballot measure on November 8, called Measure VY. The measure would potentially allow sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds to vote in city and school board elections. If voters greenlight the proposal, the measure would stay in effect until they decide to get rid of it.

If approved, the measure would not immediately go into effect, but it would instead allow for the City Council and the School Board to decide if certain conditions in the proposal are reached, including making sure that systems would be able to add the teenagers.

In Maryland, there are already six locations that allow sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds to vote in certain elections, and San Francisco attempted to make the change in 2020, according to the Los Angeles Times. During that election cycle, 49.2% of San Francisco voters were in favor of a similar proposal to the one facing Culver City, but it didn’t reach the cutoff needed. Recreational Marijuana Legalization Is on the Ballot in These States This November

Marijuana legalization is on the ballot in Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota next week, a reflection of the growing momentum nationwide to lift penalties once associated with the drug.

If approved, the states would join the 19 (along with Washington, DC) where recreational use is currently legal. Thirty-seven states, three territories and the District of Columbia allow the medical use of marijuana products, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Medical marijuana is currently legal in each of the five states that will vote on recreational use this month. (Read more from “Recreational Marijuana Legalization Is on the Ballot in These States This November” HERE)
