Explaining that he kind of discovered that he was Republican due to his upbringing, he said that the massively negative effects of Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty had the most impact:

This was an incentive for the man to leave the home and it’s destroyed African-American families throughout the country.

Joe Miller’s Pro-Life Stance Drew Praise At Alaska Family Action Debate

10488118_868500676495145_6308153990558667276_nA debate among Republican U.S. Senate hopefuls in Alaska earlier this week took an in-depth look at the issue of abortion. Tea Party-backed candidate Joe Miller set himself apart from his two primary competitors by asserting that he is firmly pro-life in all circumstances.

CitizenLink President Tom Minnery served as moderator at the Alaska Family Action debate, using the opportunity to delve into the views each candidate holds.

As Miller pointed out, his GOP rivals, Dan Sullivan and Mead Treadwell, supported pro-abortion Republican Lisa Murkowski in the 2010 Senate election. Minnery noted that, along with Democrat Sen. Mark Begich, Murkowski voted for a recent bill that would give American women even more access to the deadly procedure.

As for Miller’s opponents, each acknowledged they embrace exceptions to their purportedly pro-life views. Sullivan said he believes abortion should be available in cases of rape and incest, while Treadwell thinks the mother’s welfare should be a consideration.

Instead of focusing on exceptions, Miller concluded that “we ought to be talking about life” and saving “every life we can.”

By Sarah Jean Seman.

sorry-obama-but-there-are-no-excuses-for-war-crimes-621x330Lefty Newspaper Slams Obama On Immigration: You Don’t ‘Have A License To Tear Up The Constitution’

By Justen Charters.

On Tuesday, the editorial board for the Washington Post penned a column calling out Obama for wanting to act without Congress on immigration.

From the Washington Post:

STYMIED BY congressional paralysis, President Obama is reportedly considering unilateral action to address — though surely not fix — the nation’s immigration policy mess and the more recent surge of minors streaming across the southwestern border.

Obstinate, hopelessly partisan and incapable of problem-solving, Congress is a mess. But that doesn’t grant the president license to tear up the Constitution.

Regardless of what President Obama thinks, he does not have the power to write laws or act without Congressional approval. Since Obamacare officially became the law, it has been changed by executive action twenty four times, according to the Galen Institute.

By Andrea D. Combs.

“The View” hosts hit a hot button topic when they discussed teacher tenure on Monday night’s show.

Co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Jenny McCarthy had a passionate conversation with guests Kayleigh McEnany and Nicole Wallace regarding whether or not teachers should be protected by tenure.

“On the heels of parents suing the board of education for their policies on teacher tenure that protect teachers from being fired,” Goldberg began, “it will most likely become the big issue in 2016’s presidential elections. Now no one wants a teacher in the classroom who isn’t teaching, who isn’t a good teaching – teacher, but do people really need to sue over that?”

The women were unanimous in their agreement that it was worthy of a lawsuit. Teachers should only remain teachers when they actually do their job.

Jindal Admin: Common Core Is Illegal Federal ‘Scheme’

By Blake Neff.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, locked in multiple legal battles with his own school board over Common Core education standards, has has made a new, ambitious legal claim.

Common Core, he says, is not merely bad policy, but a violation of federal law. It’s an allegation that could encourage lawsuits against the standards in other states currently implementing the standards.

In a brief submitted Wednesday as part of a lawsuit against Louisiana’s Board for Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), Jindal’s attorneys claim that a consortium used to create multistate standardized tests aligned with Common Core was transformed into a cudgel to force states to obey federal edicts on education.

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a consortium of more than a dozen states who are working together to create common assessments built around Common Core. Louisiana was an early member of the consortium, and until two months ago was preparing to use PARCC materials for the state’s 2015 standardized tests.

Such plans collapsed into chaos, though, when Jindal issued a set of executive orders declaring that the state’s contract with PARCC violated state law and required the creation of a brand new contract to craft standardized tests, which Jindal said should not be aligned with Common Core. BESE has alleged that Jindal’s actions are illegal, and has vowed to continue forward with Common Core-derived tests while joining a lawsuit against the governor.

Muslim Brotherhood Leader: Mothers Must Nurse their Children on Hatred (+video)

0 (89)If you want to understand the Islamic totalitarian and jihadist mentality, it’s best to simply allow them to express themselves in their own words. Hat tip to Itamar Marcus over at the Palestine Media Watch for bringing us the infamous leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait, Tareq Al-Suwaidan. This video aired on Al Aqsa TV (Hamas) this past Friday, August 1st.

You see, that is the Muslim holy day and this is their version of “tele-evangelism” — and the Left finds Pastor Hagee out of San Antonio Texas reprehensible and wants to shut him down. Do any of you think the Freedom from Religion Foundation would have the IRS crack down on a sermon like this?

So, quite simply, how does one fight against an enemy that embraces death? Well, it is simple: grant them their wish. Because yes, we in the West — especially Israel and America, do see life as precious — well, perhaps not these radical abortionist Leftists — and we will fight to preserve life.

In a press conference Friday President Obama expressed support for the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank, but video from 2008 shows then-presidential candidate Obama singing a different tune.

“This is an interesting thing that’s happened,” Obama said of a battle over the bank being led by a faction of House Republicans.

“This is a program in which we help to provide financing to sell American goods and products around the world. Every country does this.”

“It’s traditionally been championed by Republicans,” Obama continued. “For some reason, right now the House Republicans have decided that we shouldn’t do this.”

The ad was created in support of creating new gun restrictions to prevent domestic abusers from purchasing firearms.

Al Gore’s Climate-Changers at EPA Hearings Foiled by Cool Temperatures (+video)

The Climate Reality Project brought its “I’m Too Hot” trucks and offers of free ice cream to this week’s Environmental Protection Agency hearings on power-plant emissions, but the climate wasn’t cooperating.

The plan was to tout the EPA’s emissions proposal as a solution for hot weather brought on by global warming, but when the hearings began at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Denver, the temperature was a chilly 58 degrees. Plus, it was raining.

The other cities hosting the hearings Wednesday were also hit by cooler-than-usual temperatures. The high in Atlanta was forecast at 82 degrees, while it was a pleasant 70 degrees in Washington, D.C., when the hearings began at 9 a.m.
