New Poll Shows Clear Winner of Second Democratic Debates — and a Very Big Loser

A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows one candidate clearly gaining from her performance at the second Democratic debates, while another losing a lot of support.

The poll released on Tuesday showed that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) got a jolt in support from the debate, with an increase of 6 percentage points from 15 percent to 21 percent, putting her in second place.

Former Vice President Joe Biden lost 2 percentage points of support, but still retains the top spot with 32 percent in the Quinnipiac poll.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) also did well, with an increase of 3 percentage points from 11 percent before the debate, to 14 percent after the debate.

Another Left-Wing Socialist Responsible for Mass Shooting, but MSM Continues Outrageous Lies

By Breitbart. The Dayton Daily News reported Monday evening that the gunman who carried out a mass shooting early Sunday morning “definitely leaned to the left” politically and had talked to friends recently about shooting up local bars.

On Sunday evening, Breitbart News reported that Twitter had suspended an account reportedly linked to the shooter. The account had tweeted in support of socialism, in favor of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), against President Donald Trump, and against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). . .

Until now, the mainstream media have taken no interest in the Ohio shooter’s views, preferring instead to focus on the white supremacist views of the gunman who attacked a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, the day before, killing 22 and wounding dozens more.

It is still unclear what connection, if any, the Ohio shooter’s left-wing political views had to the shooting, though El-Fakir speculated to the Dayton Daily News that the shooter may have bought body armor because he wanted to show how easy it was for anyone to obtain tactical weapons. Friend to Police: Dayton Killer Discussed Shooting up UD Bar

By Dayton Daily News. . .Friends of the Dayton Oregon District shooter cut ties with him earlier this year because he’d unexpectedly brandish guns and once talked about shooting up Timothy’s, a popular bar among University of Dayton students, a former friend told the Dayton Daily News. . .

El-Fakir told the Dayton Daily News he relayed that story to Dayton police Sunday afternoon. El-Fakir said he knew Betts from Bellbrook High School, where they graduated together. El-Fakir attended the University of Dayton and graduated this year. Betts enrolled in Sinclair Community College a few years after Bellbrook, something Sinclair officials said is normal among their students. . .

El-Fakir, who said he’s personally pro-2nd Amendment, described Betts as “definitely not a right-leaning person. His political views definitely leaned to the left. And believe it or not, he was actually pro-gun control. He was actually anti-2nd Amendment.”

“I don’t know if this is the motive that made him snap,” El-Fakir said, “(but I think) he donned himself with that ballistic vest just to show people how easy it was to arm themselves. It’s pure speculation.”

Shooting at a Packed Nightclub in Canada, Where Gun Control Is Already Way Stricter Than the U.S.

Shots rang out at a packed Toronto nightclub as an altercation involving a firearm sent five people to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, according to local police.

A Toronto police official told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation said that it was “fortunate there’s five victims only,” because “the club was completely full.”

The CBC reports that 3 victims from the early Monday morning shooting were found at the scene, while two fled and took themselves to the hospital.

“It’s very concerning,” the official added, “the club was packed with patrons.”

The story also notes two other shootings in Toronto over the weekend.

As I pointed out for a different story earlier this year (which was also about circumventing Canada’s firearm laws), Canada’s gun control situation looks much like what the gun control lobby says it wants right now, as opposed to the more draconian laws in most European countries, which look like what more extreme voices in the gun control movement actually want:

While most long guns are classified as “non-restricted” in Canada, most handguns are deemed “restricted” firearms (some are banned) and are under extensive regulation.

All gun owners have to be licensed, and there are extra licensure requirements for “restricted” firearms.

License applications require third-party references.

Concealed carry is virtually nonexistent unless you need to carry for work.

All “restricted” guns have to be registered with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The government regulates private gun storage.

Last year, the country’s liberal government proposed expanding background checks to cover a person’s entire life history and requiring government authorization for the transportation of privately owned guns. Now, Canadian gun control advocates believe that a full handgun ban is “within our reach.”

U.S. politicians have responded to shootings in Ohio and Texas over the weekend by proposing different forms of reactionary gun control. President Trump gave an address from the White House in support of “red flag” gun confiscation laws, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., put out a joint statement calling for expanded background check legislation. . . .A common myth you can expect to hear a lot in the coming days and weeks is that the United States “leads the world in mass shootings” and therefore we must pass some law that will do nothing to stop future mass shootings, but will infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.

What you might not hear is that this claim is completely bogus.

Sure, if you following conservative media, you’re probably aware of this. Townhall, The Daily Signal, Bearing Arms, FEE, The Washington Examiner, and others have all previously reported on how the myth that the United States leads the world in mass shootings is based on a deeply flawed study, which has been debunked by the Crime Prevention Research Center. . .

In the end, the problem of mass shootings (and gun violence in general) is not one to be solved by knee jerk reactions, finger-pointing, useless legislation or unconstitutional gun grabs. The left will do whatever they can to politicize these incidents because they think they can gain power from it. Feds Investigating AOC’s Chief of Staff Who Suddenly Resigned, Report Says. Here’s Why.

By The Blaze. The controversial chief of staff for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who suddenly resigned Friday, is under federal investigation, a new report reveals.

According to the New York Post, the Federal Election Commission is investigating Saikat Chakrabarti for possible campaign finance violations, potentially shedding new light on his sudden departure from Ocasio-Cortez’s office.

The investigation comes after government watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center filed complaints with the FEC in March, alleging Chakrabarti created shell companies to circumvent strict federal guidelines governing PAC finances and disclosure requirements. . .

According to the Post, the investigation includes probing the motive behind salary rules implemented by Ocasio-Cortez’s office. In March, she announced no staff member working in her office would make less than $52,000 or more than $80,000.

By capping Chakrabarti’s salary at $80,000 — despite most congressional chiefs of staff earning more than $140,000 per year — it would have allowed Chakrabarti to avoid requirements mandating he reveal outside income, which are triggered for staff members earning more than $126,000. El Paso Killer is an Environmental Extremist; Made Chilling Admission to Police, Charged With Capital Murder

An entire paragraph of the [El Paso killer’s] manifesto is dedicated to environmental degradation and Malthusian claims about the need to “get rid of enough people” to protect ever dwindling resources. The author cites the Christchurch shooter’s lengthy manifesto, titled “The Great Replacement,” as an inspiration, reiterating the paranoid fears of demographic shift and white decline. The Christchurch shooter self-identified as an “eco-fascist,” writing, “there is no nationalism without environmentalism.”

Against the perilous climate change denialism typical of U.S. conservatives, environmental decimation is broadly seen as a liberal and left concern. . .

[The El Paso killer’s manifesto continued,] “The American lifestyle affords our citizens an incredible quality of life. By The Blaze. The man accused of killing 20 people at an El Paso Walmart was officially booked into the El Paso jail on capital murder charges early Sunday morning, records show. . .

FBI Special Agent in Charge Emerson Bowie told KTSM that “enhanced charges” are likely given the probability the killer was a white nationalist inspired by hatred for Hispanic people. . .

A manifesto posted online, which has been attributed to the killer but not yet confirmed by authorities as authentic, said the attack was “a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.”

Indeed, the killer made a similar chilling admission to police.

Mass Shooting That Killed 20 in El Paso Investigated as ‘Domestic Terrorism’: Officials

By ABC News. Twenty people were killed and dozens more injured on Saturday morning in a massacre at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart that was packed with back-to-school shoppers, making it one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history, officials said. . .

The suspect was identified by authorities as Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas. He is being held on a charge of capital murder, court records show.

John Bash, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas, said Sunday that federal authorities are investigating the incident as an act of “domestic terrorism,” meaning the suspect was allegedly intent on “coercing and intimidating a civilian population.” . . .

In El Paso, the suspect Crusius was “taken into custody without incident” and without any law enforcement officers firing their weapons, according to El Paso Police Department Sgt. Robert Gomez. He later told investigators he wanted to shoot as many Mexicans as possible, two law enforcement officials told ABC News.

“He was forthcoming with information. He basically didn’t hold anything back,” El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said during Sunday’s news conference, declining to comment on specifics of what the alleged gunman told investigators. One-Third of Adults Wouldn’t Be Surprised ‘at All’ If a Religious Holocaust Happened

More than one-third of American adults say they wouldn’t be shocked “at all” if the systematic murder of a religious group, like what happened in the Holocaust, occurred in the United States today, according to a new poll.

A YouGov poll released on Thursday morning showed that 35 percent of adults would be “not at all surprised” if a genocide based on religious beliefs happened in modern-day America. The survey was primarily focused on the Holocaust and Anne Frank.

The poll also showed that the opinion was a bipartisan one. Thirty-seven percent of Democrats, 34 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of Independents surveyed responded that they would not at all be surprised if such a situation took place.

On the other hand, 21 percent said they’d be “very surprised” if the systematic killing of a religious group happened in the U.S. Another 19 percent said they’d be a “little surprised” and 13 percent said they’d be “somewhat surprised.”

This August marks the 75th anniversary of Anne Frank’s capture by the Nazis during World War II. The final entry in her published diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, was dated August 1st, 1944. According to YouGov, a majority of American adults believe the book should be required reading in public schools. Trump Orders Navy to Rescind Medals ‘Ridiculously’ Awarded to SEAL Gallagher Trial Prosecutors

President Trump has ordered that the Navy Achievement Medals awarded to four prosecutors in the Eddie Gallagher case be rescinded immediately.

Trump announced his directive via Twitter late Wednesday, following reports that revealed the four prosecutors were awarded the medals during a ceremony on July 10 – a week after they lost the Gallagher case.

“The Prosecutors who lost the case against SEAL Eddie Gallagher (who I released from solitary confinement so he could fight his case properly), were ridiculously given a Navy Achievement Medal,” Trump tweeted. “Not only did they lose the case, they had difficulty with respect to information that may have been obtained from opposing lawyers and for giving immunity in a totally incompetent fashion.”

Gallagher was acquitted on July 2 of all murder, witness intimidation and assault charges against him after a case marred by controversy and prosecutorial misconduct. He was found guilty of one single count involving taking a photo with a terrorist’s corpse.

The following week on July 10, the Navy Region Legal Service Office held a ceremony in a courtroom to award the four prosecutors and support staff and praise them for efforts such s “exceptional witness preparation,” “expert litigation on constitutional issues,” and “superb results” according to a motion obtained by Task & Purpose. Actor Calls for Violence Against President: America Needs Someone Who Can Punch Trump ‘in the Face’

Calling for violence against President Trump, or at least casually joking about it, has become fairly routine since 2016. Now actor Jeff Daniels says America needs someone who will punch Trump “in the face,” reports Fox News.

Speaking with Stephen Colbert on CBS, Jeff Daniels touched upon the Democratic Party presidential primary debates and how they should pick a candidate who will give Trump a solid knuckle sandwich.

“This is the second debate out of 20?” said Daniels. “You know, whittle it down, but we need somebody that can take this guy on, that can punch him in the face.” . . .

Jeff Daniels has been a fierce critic of not only President Trump, but also Trump supporters themselves — the latter of whom he has previously uncharitably characterized as being motivated by racial animus. In fact, the actor even compared Trump rallies to a line from “To Kill a Mockingbird”: “A mob is a place where people go to take a break from their conscience.”

“That’s what I see when I look at Donald Trump’s rallies, that’s when I see the lies he’s spewing at these people, and people going, ‘I gotta believe in something,’ and he said he’d bring my manufacturing job back and he didn’t … but at the end of the day, it’s race. FBI Warns of a New Type of Domestic Terrorist Threat

A newly discovered FBI document shows that the Bureau has, for the first time, started to identify fringe conspiracy theories as a new type of domestic terrorist threat.

The document, obtained exclusively by Yahoo! News, came out of the Bureau’s Phoenix field office a little over two months ago.

The FBI decribed “‘conspiracy theory-driven domestic extremists’ as a growing threat, and notes that it is the first such report to do so,” Yahoo! News reported. “It lists a number of arrests, including some that haven’t been publicized, related to violent incidents motivated by fringe beliefs.” . . .

President Donald Trump and Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) have all pushed, in recent weeks, to designate the far-left group Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.

For example, Trump recently tweeted: “Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!”
