While impeachment dominated the news headlines over the past several months, the administration also managed many accomplishment throughout the year. To wrap up the year, we’ve created a list of Trump’s biggest wins of 2019. . .

President Trump has managed to reshape the judiciary branch in his image by nominating an unprecedented number of federal judges to the bench. The Senate has confirmed 187 Trump-nominated judges in just under three years. This means 20% of the federal judiciary is now made up of Trump appointments. . .

Trump green-lighted a U.S. Special Forces raid in late October that led to the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS and one of the world’s most-wanted terrorists. Al-Baghdadi was reportedly chased into a dead-end tunnel by a special forces canine, where the ISIS leader is believed to have detonated a suicide vest that killed himself and three children. . .

The U.S. and China are set to sign a “phase one” trade deal next week in early January, the result of pressure from tariffs and negotiations between the two countries. Trump made standing up to China one of the main components of his presidency, promising American farmers that he would work out a better deal for them. The “phase one” deal includes some tariff relief, more Chinese purchases of American agricultural goods, and further protections on intellectual property. Obama, Trump Tie as Most Admired Man in 2019

By Gallup. Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied this year as the most admired man. It is Obama’s 12th time in the top spot versus the first for Trump. Michelle Obama is the most admired woman for the second year in a row.

Each year since 1948, Gallup has asked Americans to name, in an open-ended fashion, which man and woman living anywhere in the world they admire most. This year’s results are based on a Dec. 2-15 poll.

Americans’ choice for most admired man this year is sharply divided along party lines: 41% of Democrats name Obama, while 45% of Republicans choose Trump. Relatively few Democrats choose Trump and relatively few Republicans pick Obama, while independents’ choices are divided about equally between the two men.

After Obama and Trump, no other man was mentioned by more than 2% of respondents. The remainder of the top 10 for men this year includes former President Jimmy Carter, businessman Elon Musk, philanthropist and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Republican Congressman Posts Video for Holidays of Hillary Clinton Getting Hit by Light Fixture

Representative Paul Gosar marked Christmas Eve by sharing a clip of a light falling on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from 27 years ago. . .

In 1992, when Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas, Hillary joined him on 60 Minutes, her first interview on the show, to discuss his run for president and accusations he had an affair. About 40 minutes into the interview, a light bar that was set up for the interview crashed onto the back of the couch where Bill and Hillary were sitting.

As the Clintons jumped off the couch and away from the fallen light, Hillary exclaimed, “Jesus, Mary and Joseph.” Given the Biblical names she used and their importance at Christmas time, it’s possible that’s what Gosar meant by “remember the reason for the season.” . . .

People on social media didn’t take kindly to him sharing the clip, and some Twitter users said they reported it for promoting violence against the former secretary of state. Others, including Neera Tanden, the president of the Center for American Progress, claimed the representative’s behavior was one of the reasons his family made an ad encouraging voters to support his opponent.

How Liberals Rewrite the History of the Clinton Impeachment; Hypocrite Schumer Said Senate Was ‘Not A Jury Box’ During Clinton Impeachment Trial

The “striking” difference between the Bill Clinton and Donald Trump impeachments, argue MSNBC hosts and others in the media, was not only the willingness of Clinton to “show contrition,” but the willingness of his supporters to acknowledge that the president had done something wrong. . .

In the real world, Clinton, with help from the entire Democratic Party, kept earnestly lying to anyone who would listen—the media, the American people, a grand jury—until physical evidence compelled him to admit what he had done.

His subsequent “contrition,” as impeachment picked up steam, was a matter of political survival. The notion that Trump engaged in “bribery” is debatable. The notion that Clinton perjured himself is not.

If it hadn’t been for the Drudge Report bypassing the institutional media, in fact, Newsweek, still an influential magazine in 1998, would likely have sat on the Monica Lewinsky story until after the Clinton presidency had ended. This was probably the first time that online alternative media exposed corrupt coverage, and it certainly wasn’t the last.

Then again, even after Drudge reported on Lewinsky’s semen-stained blue dress, Clinton still lied about his affair to the country, famously saying, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” His wife, Hillary, who almost surely knew the truth, told Matt Lauer that a “vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president” was responsible for the charges. Hypocrite Schumer Said Senate Was ‘Not a Jury Box’ During Clinton Impeachment Trial

By Townhall. Democrats have been incensed ever since Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that there was “no chance” the president would be removed from office. Speaker Pelosi is even refusing to send the articles of impeachment in a perverse effort to extort some last-minute concessions from Senate Republicans. Democrats just led the most flimsy, partisan impeachment inquiry in U.S. history and are now lecturing Republicans on the importance of impartiality. Even CNN can’t ignore the hypocrisy.

“I was disappointed to hear yesterday that Leader McConnell declared that he would not be an impartial juror when it comes to the serious charges against President Trump,” Chuck Schumer said in a recent Senate speech. “He said it proudly. What kind of example does that set to the country that is looking for fairness and impartiality?”

But in 1999, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer went on Larry King Live and said the exact opposite of everything he is saying now. Schumer defended the right of every Senator to have a “pre-opinion” and explained that the Senate is “not a jury box” because the Senate is “susceptible to the whims of politics” and Senators can be “called and lobbied” by citizens. These 15 GOP Governors Are Asking for More Refugee Resettlement in Their Red States

Is there a single red state left in America?

While Republicans in Washington spent the month betraying conservatives on the budget and border fight, GOP governors who are even more liberal have been quietly undermining Trump’s promise to shut down the refugee resettlement racket. If conservative media is going to continue to put 100 percent of its focus on impeachment, the Left will succeed in getting every single governor and most county officials in the reddest states and counties to promote the broken refugee resettlement scam.

“As you know, for many years, leaders in Washington brought large numbers of refugees to your state from Somalia without considering the impact on schools and communities and taxpayers,” Trump said at a rally in Minneapolis on October 10. “You should be able to decide what is best for your own cities and for your own neighborhoods, and that’s what you have the right to do right now, and believe me, no other president would be doing that.”

Indeed, unlike with the budget and border fights, Trump actually fulfilled his promise to allow states and counties to veto refugee resettlement. But alas, when Trump is on our side, then we must contend with the rest of the broken party. Now, in states that Trump carried by massive margins, Republican governors are submitting letters to the State Department announcing their intent to accept refugees in their respective states.

The State Department has created a list of governors and county commissioners who have written formal letters to the department requesting refugee resettlement in their respective jurisdictions. Pursuant to executive order 13888, both the governor and county government must formally request resettlement before one of the resettlement contractors is allowed to resettle refugees in the given county.

As of today, the State Department has received formal letters from 18 governors requesting refugees, although many more have expressed support, and not a single governor has outright rejected resettlement. Between those on the State Department list and those who have publicly expressed intent to resettle refugees, there are 15 GOP governors who have joined the Soros bandwagon:

Doug Ducey of Arizona

Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma

Bill Lee of Tennessee

Doug Burgum of North Dakota

Kristi Noem of South Dakota

Chris Sununu of New Hampshire

Except for New England, these are all states carried by Trump, some of them by a very wide margin. Trump won every single county in West Virginia and Oklahoma, for example. Why are conservatives with platforms not talking about this?

What is further disquieting is that Trump endorsed all these governors. He endorsed Oklahoma’s Kevin Stitt based on “crime and border” policy; now we know he is liberal on both.

Trump even endorsed Doug Ducey for governor in Arizona when he had a primary, even though Ducey had previously criticized him. Trump should criticize these governors for wanting more refugees after a record-breaking year of illegal immigration and when all the other humanitarian categories of immigration are at record high levels. Many of them ran on his agenda; now it’s time for him to hold them accountable.

The nine taxpayer-funded refugee resettlement contractors have until mid-January to get permission from jurisdictions for resettlement. They have their activists on the ground in all 3,000+ counties promoting resettlement, while “conservative” media figures and activists will continue to focus 100 percent of their attention on impeachment. Yet, unlike impeachment, this is a direct way for conservatives to actually affect the outcome of a major national issue at the local level.

What is particularly jarring are these phony evangelical groups and pastors who are writing letters to governors in deep red states demanding resettlement. The same “religious leaders” who couldn’t stand up and be counted when it comes to fighting the transgender agenda or actually defunding Planned Parenthood in the budget suddenly find their voices when it comes to transforming America into Europe.

Where is the compassion for the American citizen? Earlier this month, 659 “evangelical leaders,” who are clearly out of touch with those sitting in the pews, sent a letter to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee demanding he agree to refugee resettlement. Evidently, it worked. But there is no regard for how midsize cities like Nashville are being transformed.

The fundamental transformation of America is particularly pronounced in small to midsize cities. This new great wave has significantly altered the character of smaller cities. Refugee resettlement has played a big role. Nashville, Tennessee, best embodies this new reality.

A whopping 30 percent of the city’s public school children do not speak English as their first language. Spanish is by far the most common language among the foreign-born school children, but Arabic and Somali are numbers two and four respectively. There are now over 120 languages spoken in the Nashville school district, nearly as many as in New York City. Thanks to refugee resettlement over the past decade, Tennessee is one of the fastest-growing states for non-English speakers. Who ever voted for this, and why is it never factored into the equation?

Who needs George Soros when you have GOP governors endorsed by Trump doing his bidding, along with the help of so-called evangelical groups? Unless Trump becomes a voice for the people again, the citizenry of this country will be left without a voice. Jason Riley: GOP Sen. Murkowski using ‘Democratic talking points’ on Trump impeachment trial

By Fox News. Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski wrongly used “Democratic talking points” when she criticized Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s comments about how he would run President Trump’s pending impeachment trial, Fox News contributor Jason Riley said Thursday.

Murkowski took exception to comments McConnell, R-Ky., made during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity earlier this month, in which he promised to be in “coordination” with the White House, should House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., submit the two articles of impeachment to the Senate.

“When I heard that, I was disturbed,” Murkowski told KTUU in an interview that aired Tuesday evening. “To me, it means that we have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense. And so, I heard what Leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further confused the process.”

Riley, a Wall Street Journal editorial board member, said on “Special Report” that Murkowski indeed has been known for her “independent streak” as a more-moderate GOP senator. . .

Riley continued, “I do wish she would stop using Democratic talking points to make the argument that she is making. Report: Elizabeth Warren’s Brother ‘Furious’ Over Her Latest Alleged False Claim

Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren reportedly angered her brother David Warren over the way that she has characterized what their father did for work, calling him a “janitor,” a term that David Warren says is false.

The Boston Globe reported:

Families can also disagree on the details of a shared life. According to a family friend, David has disagreed with the way Warren calls herself the daughter of a janitor as she describes the work he found after losing a job as a salesman after his heart attack.

“When she called her dad a janitor during the early stages of this, David was furious,” said Pamela Winblood, 78, a longtime friend of David who had fallen out with him and supports Warren’s presidential bid. “He said, ‘My Dad was never a janitor.’ I said, ‘Well, he was a maintenance man.’ ” (In an interview, Warren said she had no idea why that characterization would bother her brother; she has referred to their father as a “maintenance man” in her 2014 autobiography but often as a “janitor” on the campaign trail.)

A separate report noted that Warren recognized the difference between working in maintenance and janitorial services in her book where she repeatedly referred to her father as a maintenance man. Nancy Pelosi Is Playing Political Games With the U.S. Constitution Over Donald Trump’s Impeachment; Trump Lashes out at Pelosi on Christmas

By Newsweek. No one can be sure what her intent is. I’m not sure she even knows but her decision to wait before transmitting the articles of impeachment to the Senate is setting a bad precedent that puts politics ahead of the U.S. Constitution.

For all the work that’s gone into addressing the charges against President Donald Trump, it’s hard to argue they rise to the level of impeachable offenses. The charge of obstruction of Congress could just as easily be presented as a justifiable defense of executive power for which ample precedent exists. The allegation he abused the power of his office is likewise flawed. While U.S. policy toward Ukraine is legitimately a subject for congressional oversight it is hardly the stuff of which previous presidents were threatened with removal from office. . .

What Pelosi wants is at least one more bite at the apple, maybe more. Her minions have been trying to impeach the president for most of his administration. The votes taken just prior to Christmas on articles of impeachment were not the first and, if you can believe what’s being said over the holiday recess, may not be the last. As Politico is reporting, “The House is open to the prospect of impeaching President Donald Trump a second time, lawyers for the Judiciary Committee said Monday.”

Will it ever end? Probably not. Just as Bill Clinton gave us what came to be called “the permanent campaign,” Nancy Pelosi and her allies are giving America “the permanent impeachment.” For all her high-minded talk about the gravity of the situation and the steps being taken by the House, she’s messing around with the Constitution while trying to overturn the results of the last election and influence the outcome of the next. She might succeed, at least as far as the latter effort is concerned, but not in the way she intends. Trump Lashes out at Pelosi on Christmas, Decries ‘Scam Impeachment’

By The Hill. President Trump on Wednesday lashed out at Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a pair of tweets Christmas night, decrying what he called a “Scam Impeachment.”

“Why should Crazy Nancy Pelosi, just because she has a slight majority in the House, be allowed to Impeach the President of the United States?” wrote Trump, who is staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., for the holidays.

He also called the impeachment process “very unfair.”

Corrupt Murkowski ‘Disturbed’ by ‘Total Coordination’ Vow Between McConnell, Trump on Impeachment

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said Tuesday that she was “disturbed” to hear that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) promised President Donald Trump that they would coordinate on the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

McConnell recently said that there would be “total coordination” between the Senate and White House on the upcoming Senate impeachment trial; this disturbed the Alaska Republican.

She said, “And in fairness, when I heard that I was disturbed. To me, it means that we have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense, and so I heard what leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further confused the process.”

Murkowski criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) impeachment as rushed. “Speaker Pelosi was very clear, very direct that her goal was to get this done before Christmas,” she said.

Murkowski was also one of three Senate Republicans not to back a letter sponsored by McConnell and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC), criticizing the Democrats’ closed-door, secretive impeachment inquiry. Establishment-Controlled ‘Conservative’ Publications Call for Trump’s Removal From Office

President Trump on Friday excoriated evangelical magazine Christianity Today after it published an editorial backing his impeachment and removal.

Christianity Today was founded by reknowned preacher Billy Graham in 1956, however in recent years it has not been closely associated with the Graham family. The editorial was written by magazine editor-in-chief Mark Galli, who retires on January 3, 2020. Galli called the President’s actions with regard to Ukraine “a violation of the Constitution” and “immoral” . . .

Trump slammed the editorial in a tweet on Friday morning.

“A far left magazine, or very ‘progressive,’ as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President,” Trump wrote. A senior editor of the National Review wrote a damning opinion piece for the news site on Friday calling for Donald Trump to be removed from office, making it the second major conservative outlet to do so… The National Review is a major conservative publication that has led the field since it was established over six decades ago. On Friday, senior editor Ramesh Ponnuru wrote a piece called “Four Tests for Impeachment,” arguing that Trump had met or exceeded each one and deserved to be removed from office.

SHOCK: Inspector General Report Reveals FBI Had Informants Inside the Trump Campaign

A recently released Department of Justice Inspector General report, examining the role of the FBI in efforts to wiretap and investigate the Trump 2016 presidential campaign and Trump 2016 transition team, and whether the FBI acted improperly when petitioning the FISA courts to spy on the effort without a warrant, revealed that the FBI had informants within the Trump campaign itself.

The Washington Times reports that the FBI informants, who tried to get close to Trump campaign aides Carter Page and George Papadopolous, came up empty despite repeated attempts to bait both Page and Papadopolous into connecting with Russian operatives who, the informants told the pair, could provide “incriminating” Hillary Clinton emails.

“The report discloses that the FBI dispatched against Trump allies multiple unnamed FBI informants known as confidential human sources (CHS). The most publicized was Stefan Halper, a longtime Washington national security figure and Cambridge University professor,” the outlet reported. “He ingratiated himself to George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, while also attempting to engage with a senior Trump campaign official in New York.”

The Inspector General reports that the FBI informants recorded entire conversations with both Papadopolous and Page, but that the content of these recordings could be considered evidence that neither aide engaged with Russian operatives: “Mr. Halper recorded conversations that could be seen as exculpatory.”

The Inspector General also “rapped” the FBI, the Times reports, for failing to include the recorded conversations in petitions sent to the FISA courts requesting the warrantless wiretaps. Such an error makes the petitions incomplete, he said, and biased the court towards granting the FBI permission to spy on Trump operatives. Gorka: Democrats Turned to Impeachment as Their ‘Platform of Extremism’ Made Them Un-Electable in 2020

By Breitbart. Former Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump Sebastian Gorka told Breitbart News on Thursday that because the Democrats now “have a platform of extremism,” they know they are unable to win in a fair election, which is why they’ve turned to impeaching the president.

Gorka told Breitbart News on Thursday that the crime President Trump has committed was defeating Hillary Clinton, “and they’re never going to forgive him for that, so they’re trying to nullify the will of 63 million Americans in 2016.”

Breitbart News caught up with the former White House aide on Thursday, after he addressed thousands of young conservatives at Turning Point USA’s fifth annual Student Action Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“Let’s not forget,” said Gorka, “nineteen minutes after I became deputy assistant to the president — after my boss put up his hand and was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States — the Washington Post wrote an article saying the impeachment of Donald Trump starts now. They’ve been working on this, my friend, for more than three years.”
