State Senator Threatened Repeatedly After Calling for Epstein Investigation, Calls Capitol Police

By Tampa Bay Times. Florida Sen. Lauren Book has reached out to Capitol police after receiving an anonymous warning connected to her demand for a state inquiry into Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw’s handling of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s lenient work release program, the Miami Herald has learned.

Book, a vocal advocate for child sexual assault survivors, said she also received more than a dozen calls from Bradshaw’s political supporters asking her to back off on her call for an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement into Bradshaw.

On Monday, Book, a Democrat, wrote a letter to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis asking him to authorize a probe into how Epstein, accused of molesting dozens of underage girls and a registered sex offender, was permitted to leave the Palm Beach County Jail and spend much of his 2008-2009 incarceration in an office in West Palm Beach. . .

“I’ve received countless phone calls saying ‘Little girl you don’t know what you’re getting into,’ and telling me that I should just stop,’’ said Book, a child sexual abuse survivor herself who has worked to pass strict sex offender laws in Florida. . .

The pressure against Book came on the same day that Epstein, 66, was found injured in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, where he is awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges brought earlier this month by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. His arrest stemmed from alleged behavior with underage girls dating back more than a decade in New York and Florida. Judge signs protective order over materials feds to turn over to jailed financier Jeffrey Epstein

Federal prosecutors in New York overseeing the case against millionaire Jeffrey Epstein are preparing to hand over highly-sensitive investigative material to the financier’s defense attorneys after a federal judge on Friday granted the government’s request to place a protective order on the documents.

Prosecutors sought the order because, they said in court filings, they intends to produce documents and materials that could … “affect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals…[and that] would impede, if prematurely disclosed, the Government’s ongoing investigation of uncharged individuals.”

When Epstein secured a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in southern Florida in 2008 over a previous investigation, the much-criticized deal also immunized any and all potential co-conspirators, known or unknown, and also included the names of four women who had been suspected by authorities of having facilitated or participated in alleged crimes against children. Epstein Investigation reveals Pedophile Moved Massive Amounts of Money out of Bank Earlier this Year; Was he Tipped Off?

The New York Times reports that even baking officials failed to realize the possible financial crimes being committed by Epstein until after the fact, believing that the company had closed out all his accounts late last year.

Deutsche Bank now wants to make sure that none of the money being moved by Epstein was used to fund or in any way support the sex trafficking of underage females.

Trump: Mueller Made Biden ‘Look Like a Dynamo’

By The Hill. President Trump took aim at former special counsel Robert Mueller and Joe Biden late Thursday, renewing his criticism of the former vice president’s age while suggesting that Mueller’s appearance before House lawmakers on Wednesday made Biden look like a “dynamo.”

“Sleepy Joe is okay, but he’s fading, I think he’s fading fast,” Trump said of Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign inan interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity. “The only good thing about Mueller is that it made Joe Biden look like a dynamo.”

Trump’s remarks came in his first interview since Mueller appeared before the House Judiciary and House Intelligence Committees to testify on his more than 400-page report, which detailed his investigation into Russian election interference and possible obstruction of justice by Trump.

Mueller’s performance in his back-to-back hearings drew widespread criticism among those who questioned his grasp of his own investigation.

Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein Found Injured in Cell After Possible Suicide Attempt; Epstein’s Trips to Clinton White House Revealed, Proving Bill LIED

By New York Post. Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was found in his cell on Tuesday nearly unconscious with injuries to his neck after a possible suicide attempt, sources said.

Epstein was discovered by guards sprawled out on the floor at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he’s being held without bail on sex-trafficking charges, according to law enforcement sources. . .

Investigators believe Epstein may have done it to himself either on purpose or as a ploy to get transferred out of the jail, sources said.

Accused Quadruple Murderer, Ex-Cop Facing Death Penalty, Inexplicably Put in Same Jail Cell with Epstein

Nicholas Tartaglione, a former Briarcliff Manor police officer charged in a quadruple homicide in Orange County, was allegedly questioned about how accused child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found injured in his Manhattan jail cell this week, according to nbcnewyork.com. . .

Investigators talked to Tartaglione, who is also being held at MCC, as they also look into the possibility that Epstein might have been assaulted, NBC reported. Tartaglione denied having anything to do with Epstein’s injuries, according to NBC.

Bruce Barket, Tartaglione’s lawyer, told NBC that Tartaglione and Epstein get along well, and that his client did not assault the financier. Barket said the two men have been complaining about rodents, flooding, and food in the jail, according to NBC, which reported that Epstein is now on suicide watch.

Tartaglione made headlines recently after correction officers confiscated an illicit cellphone that was found in his cell on July 3, according to court records. How Epstein entered Clinton’s orbit remains unclear. When the president released his initial statement on Epstein, he did not explain the multiple other trips he appears to have taken on the financier’s plane—including one flight to Westchester with Epstein, his alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell, and an “unnamed female.” . . .

In late September of 1993, Bill and Hillary Clinton hosted a reception for supporters who had contributed to recent White House renovations. The nearly $400,000 overhaul—which included new gold draperies and a 13-color woven rug for the Oval Office—was funded entirely by donations to the White House Historical Association, a private organization that helps preserve and promote the White House as a historical monument. . .

Guests for the event, according to the invitation list, included the journalist and philanthropist Barbara Goldsmith, heiress Jane Engelhard, political consultant Cynthia Friedman, and “Mr Jeffrey Epstein and Ms. Ghislaine Maxwell.” Epstein and Maxwell do not appear on the ‘regret list,’ and there is a letter ‘A’ next to both of their names, indicating they planned to attend. A press release from the event, put out by Hillary Clinton’s office, lists Epstein as a White House Historical Association donor. . .

A letter from the following month reveals the extent of the financier’s generosity. Bernard R. Meyer, the executive vice president of the White House Historical Association, sent a note to Epstein’s Madison Avenue offices on Oct. 4, thanking him for his $10,000 contribution. Mueller Breaks His Silence in Least Satisfying Way for Lawmakers; Trump Lawyer Attacks ‘Idiot’ Mueller

By Bloomberg. Robert Mueller maintained a disciplined silence for his entire 22-month investigation of Russian meddling and Donald Trump.

When he finally answered questions in public, the result was a halting and deeply unsatisfying event for lawmakers and the American public that may end up diluting the weight of his thorough 448-page report — and diminishing the reputation of the legendary lawman. . .

But rather than bring his sweeping investigation to life, as Democrats hoped, Mueller didn’t play the part he was cast. During more than five hours of public testimony, Mueller spoke softly, declined to read directly from his report and refused to elaborate in response to questions.

Mueller’s approach to the hearings contrasted starkly with the fast-paced, social-media savvy questions and posturing from lawmakers, at times creating awkward or boring moments.

The expectations Mueller was facing for this event may have simply been too high. Through his long silence, the former special counsel had become a mysterious and revered figure and, perhaps, the one person whose words could lead to Trump’s impeachment. Giuliani Attacks ‘Idiot’ Mueller

Giuliani was on to talk about Mueller’s testimony on Capitol Hill, regarding President Donald Trump’s possible obstruction of the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. As they started off by talking about Trump’s rage-tweets against Mueller, Giuliani wasted no time tearing into the special counsel’s “witch hunt, which is falling apart.” . . .

“He doesn’t pay much attention to it, he was the Wizard of Oz, he’s behind a curtain. From then on, it was ‘We’ll take it to Bob, we’ll ask Bob.’ After a while, I would say ‘don’t bother.’ I mean, you guys are deciding, don’t bullsh*t, don’t tell me.”

Politifact’s ‘Fact Check’ on AOC Crying in Front of ‘Empty Parking Lot’ Is Utterly Hilarious

Politifact is at it again! The left-wing fact-checker purporting to be unbiased made a mockery of themselves (again) with their latest rating concerning socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Politifact, creating their best damage control for the freshman congresswoman, rated the claim that Ocasio-Cortez cried in front of an empty parking lot for a photo-op as “false” because it was, in fact, a “road” with some parked cars, not a parking lot, that the elected Democrat cried in front of. . .

The Internet was not on the same page, and it got worse from there for the 29-year-old. When more photos came to light, it appeared she was crying in front of an empty driveway area where cars were parked. There were no migrants in AOC’s view, it appeared. As one might imagine, the mockery of AOC then hit fever pitch. . .

But thank goodness for the likes of nonpartisan fact-checkers like Politifact to set us all straight.

“No, this isn’t a photo of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez crying over a parking lot,” reported Politifact.

“Photographers at the scene who took photos of Ocasio-Cortez say she was not facing a parking lot,” the fact-checker’s “ruling” said. “Rather she was just beyond the toll plaza for the Tornillo facility, and she standing on a road that led to the Tornillo tent complex, which was in the line of her gaze, as she stood at the fence. Video: Charging Bison Tosses​ Fleeing ​9-Year-Old Girl Into the Air at Yellowstone

A 9-year-old girl was the victim of a charging bison at Yellowstone National Park on Monday, when a free-roaming bull sent the child airborne in an attack caught on video. . .

Footage of the incident went viral, racking up millions of views within days. The clip taken by a bystander shows the animal calmly walking on a hill before breaking into a canter, charging the girl and sending her head over heels several feet in the air.

On Tuesday, the National Park Service confirmed that the incident occurred near the Old Faithful Geyser area, reporting that “according to witnesses, a group of approximately 50 people were within 5-10 feet of the bison for at least 20 minutes before eventually causing the bison to charge the group.”

The little girl from Odessa, Florida, was injured but treated by park emergency medical personnel before being taken to and released from a nearby clinic. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed, but the incident is still under investigation. No citations have been issued in relation to the episode.

Following Monday’s attack, park “officials stressed that people should stay at least 25 yards, or 75 feet, away from bison and other large animals such as elk, bighorn sheep, deer, moose and coyotes,” The Washington Post reported. Visitors who stumble upon a wolf or bear should keep even further distance, to 100 yards, or 300 feet. Outrage Over U.S. Citizen Being Detained for Weeks by Border Patrol, Then the TRUTH Comes Out

By Daily Wire. In a story that’s sparked outrage — including from one of the leaders of the #AbolishICE contingent of the Democratic Party, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) — a young man who appears to be a U.S. citizen was detained for three weeks by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) after crossing the border with his younger brother, who is a Mexican citizen. But as more details have emerged, the reason CBP has delayed in releasing the young man has begun to make a lot more sense. . .

The Dallas Morning News article tweeted out by Ocasio-Cortez reports that Francisco Erwin Galicia, an 18-year-old whose birth certificate says he was born in Dallas, has been in CBP custody for more than three weeks after being detained at a border patrol checkpoint on June 27 along with his younger brother, who is a Mexican citizen, and a group of friends. The group was stopped because Marlon is a Mexican citizen. . .

The Washington Post has since done some more digging and uncovered details about the case which help explain why CBP has delayed in releasing the young man: Francisco’s mother, a Mexican citizen living in Edinburg illegally, listed her son on a U.S. tourist visa as being born in Mexico. She also falsified information on his birth certificate.

“The reason it appears to have taken CBP and ICE so long to determine Galicia’s citizenship is because his mother, who is not a citizen, took out a U.S. tourist visa in his name while he was still a minor, falsely saying he was born in Mexico, Galan said,” the Post reports. “His mother, Sanjuana, told The Post that CBP discovered the visa after fingerprinting her son. The conflicting documents only fueled the agency’s suspicion that Galicia’s U.S. documents were fake, Galan said.”

Sanjuana told the Post that she took out the falsified tourist visa for her son so he could travel back and forth across the border to visit family. The reason she couldn’t get him a passport, she explained, is that she entered a fictitious name for herself on his birth certificate. “The undocumented mother was unable to get him a U.S. passport because when Galicia was born, Galan said, she gave a different name for herself on his birth certificate,” the Post reports. “U.S. Citizen” Released From Immigration Custody

By AP News. A … 18-year-old was released from immigration custody Tuesday after wrongfully being detained for more than three weeks.

Francisco Erwin Galicia left a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Pearsall, Texas, on Tuesday. His lawyer, Claudia Galan, confirmed he had been released, less than a day after The Dallas Morning News’ reporting about his case drew national attention.

WATCH: Ilhan Omar ‘Disgusted’ by Muslim Woman Asking Her to Condemn FGM

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) lambasted a female Muslim audience member Tuesday for asking her to renounce female genital mutilation (FGM), a practice common in Omar’s native Somalia.

Omar was reportedly taking questions an event for the Muslim Collective for Equitable Democracy event when Muslim audience member Ani Osman-Zonneveld of Muslims for Progressive Values asked Omar to condemn FGM.

Omar said she was “disgusted” by people who ask Muslim politicians specific questions on issues and groups embraced by extreme members of their religion – such as FGM, al-Qaeda, and Hamas – and called it a “waste” of time.

“I am, I think, quite disgusted I think to be honest that as Muslim legislators, we are constantly being asked to waste our time speaking to issues that other people are not asked to speak to because of the assumption exist that we somehow support and are for [the issue],” Omar said, according to BuzzFeed News.

Miss World America Strips Titleholder for ‘Supporting’ Trump

Twenty-year-old conservative activist and prominent Trump supporter Kathy Zhu was reportedly stripped of her Miss Michigan crown from the Miss World America Organization over past “insensitive” social media posts and her refusal to try on a hijab at a college event in 2018.

Zhu is a Chinese immigrant who moved to the United States at age five; she became popular in conservative circles for both her support for Donald Trump during the 2016 election and for fighting off students attempting to get her expelled from the University of Central Florida for refusing to try on a hijab — an event that allegedly helped get the conservative stripped of her beauty pageant accomplishments. . .

However, the student was soon informed by the organization via email that she would have to turn in her sash and crown and disassociate with the group over past “offensive, insensitive, and inappropriate” social media posts. . .

Zhu also responded via email to the organization over her ouster, pushing back on Miss World America’s apparent opposition to the conservative’s refusal to wear a hijab. “[W]hat is ‘insensitive’ is that women in the Middle East are getting STONED TO DEATH for refusing to obey their husband’s orders to wear hijabs,” she wrote. “A Muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. I tweeted about it on my social media, and it got the attention of the media. Almost everyone was supportive of me refusing to be put in that situation.”

On Friday morning, Zhu thanked her supporters and announced that she will not be taking legal action against the organization because they have “suffered enough negative publicity.”

Key Witness In Mueller Investigation Indicted On Sex Trafficking, Child Porn Charges

A key witness in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation has been indicted on child pornography and sex trafficking charges, according to a three-count indictment unsealed on Friday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

George Nader, 60, is “a wealthy Lebanese-American businessman and Middle East expert,” Politico reported, adding that Nader was indicted “on charges of importing child pornography and traveling with a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.”

The Hill reported that Nader was a key witness in Mueller’s investigation and sat “for multiple interviews, including one that was conducted under a ‘proffer agreement’ — a potential signal that he believed he could be charged with crimes and spoke to prosecutors on the condition his statements wouldn’t be used against him.”

Nader was arrested in January 2018 when he arrived in the U.S. from Dubai. When federal law enforcement officials searched three iPhones that they obtained with a search warrant, they allegedly found child porn.

Politico added that “prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Nader over the images in April 2018 but kept the charges under seal and never told his attorneys about them even as he continued to cooperate with Mueller’s probe,” lawyers said.
