Israeli Archaeologists Find 2,700-Year-Old Artifact That Backs Biblical Record

By The Blaze. According to Reuters, archaeologists in Israel have discovered a 2,700-year-old seal impression that they say validates part of the biblical record.

According to the Israeli Antiquities Authority, the seal was excavated by Shimon Cohen and bears an inscription in ancient Hebrew that reads “belonging to the governor of the city.” The seal was unearthed near the plaza of the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. The Bible references governors of Jerusalem on multiple occasions in the Old Testament.

The seal is made of clay, and is about the size of a small coin and depicts two men facing each other. It measures 13 x 15 mm across its face and 2-3 mm thick. According to the Antiquities Authority, it was most likely originally attached to a shipment or sent as a souvenir.

By Daily Mail. Israeli archaeologists have unveiled a 2,700-year-old clay seal which once belonged to a biblical governor of Jerusalem.

The tiny object depicts two men in striped robes facing one-another above the inscription ‘lesar ha’air’ which in ancient Hebrew means ‘belonging to the governor of the city.’

Researchers an unsure of the exact purpose of the seal, but speculate it could have been attached to some kind of transport and served either as a logo or a souvenir for the recipient, likely a figure of importance. . .

Hebrew University Professor Tallay Ornan and Tel Aviv University Professor Benjamin Sass wrote of the seal: ‘The title “governor of the city” is known from the Bible and from extra-Biblical documents, and refers to an official appointed by the king.

Here’s How Democrats Plan to End Trump’s National Emergency Declaration

By The Blaze. Democrats reportedly plan to introduce a privileged resolution in Congress in to terminate the declaration of a national emergency at the border by President Donald Trump.

The plan was reported by NBC News Capitol Hill producer Alex Moe on Wednesday.

The resolution would end the declaration by Friday, if it is passed. Moe reported that the effort is led by Rep. Joaquin Castro (R-Texas) and has more than 90 co-sponsors. . .

If the resolution passes the House of Representatives, it would need to be approved by the Republican-controlled Senate. The president has already indicated that he would veto any resolution that came to his desk. The Congress could then override his veto, but only with an unlikely two-thirds majority in both houses.

Texas GOP Rep Opposes Trump’s Use of National Emergency to Get Border Wall

By The Hill. Republican Rep. Roger Williams (Texas) said this week that he opposes the national emergency declared by President Trump to build a border wall.

Williams, asked about Trump’s national emergency declaration by a constituent at a town hall event Tuesday, gave a clear “no” to supporting it, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

“The reason that I have not been supportive of the declaration is because Congress has done a really poor job, we … Congress, both sides of the aisle, put the president in this situation, OK, but I don’t support it from a selfish standpoint,” Williams said at the event, according to the Statesman.

He then reportedly went on to explain that the emergency declared by Trump could take border wall funding that currently goes towards military bases, specifically noting Fort Hood, and saying he’d “hate to see a lot of those dollars diverted from that.”

WATCH: Disney, Nestle Pull YouTube Ads After This Viral Video Exposes ‘Pedophilia Ring’

According to Bloomberg, the Walt Disney Co., Nestle, and “Fortnite” creator Epic Games, Inc. have “paused” their advertising spending on YouTube after a viral video report detailing an alleged “soft-core pedophilia ring” operating via the platform’s comments section.

An alarming 20-minute report (below) posted by video blogger Matt Watson on his YouTube channel “MattsWhatItIs” Sunday purports to expose “a wormhole into a soft-core pedophilia ring on YouTube.”

“Over the past 48 hours I have discovered a wormhole into a soft-core pedophilia ring on Youtube,” Watson wrote in the description of the video, which has already racked up nearly 2 million views. “Youtube’s recommended algorithm is facilitating pedophiles’ ability to connect with each-other, trade contact info, and link to actual CP in the comments. I can consistently get access to it from vanilla, never-before-used Youtube accounts via innocuous videos in less than ten minutes, in sometimes less than five clicks. Additionally, I have video evidence that these videos are being monetized by Youtube, brands like McDonald’s, Lysol, Disney, Reese’s, and more.”

In his report, Watson demonstrates in real-time how users can use the comment section on YouTube to identify sexually suggestive videos involving young girls. YouTube’s algorithm, Watson shows, will then begin recommending similar videos.

“This loophole is wrong, something needs to be done,” Watson says in the video’s description. “It’s being monetized. CP is being traded as well as social media and WhatsApp addresses. Youtube is facilitating this problem. It doesn’t matter that they flag videos and turn off the comments, these videos are still being monetized, and more importantly they are still available for users to watch.”

Trump Campaign Sizes up Bernie Sanders’ 2020 Run in One Sentence

By Nate Madden. In response to the news that 77-year-old socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has entered the presidential arena, the Trump 2020 campaign issued a statement that took aim at Sanders and the entire Democratic field at the same time.

“Bernie Sanders has already won the debate in the Democrat primary, because every candidate is embracing his brand of socialism,” it reads. “But the American people will reject an agenda of sky-high tax rates, government-run health care and coddling dictators like those in Venezuela.”

The 2020 Democratic field is already shaping up to be a contest of who can be the best messenger for the far-Left ideas that Sanders and his followers brought to the party’s mainstream in 2016. Even if the Democrats pass him over for the nomination again, he’s already done more to shape the outcome than anybody else in the field of declared candidates right now. Bernie Sanders’ presidential candidacy will further fracture Democratic Party

By Fox News. Sen. Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont who labels himself a democratic socialist, announced Tuesday that he is running for the Democratic presidential nomination again.

Sanders hopes there are some embers left to fan from his 2016 losing campaign so America can once again “feel the Bern.” But this time, the climate is very different. . .

But the 2020 race for the Democratic presidential nomination is already shaping up to be very different from 2016.

Unlike 2016, when Hillary Clinton was the frontrunner for the nomination even before she announced her candidacy, the 2020 Democratic primary field is a crowded one without a clear leader at this very early stage.

Oh, so Is This What Sparked Jussie Smollett to Allegedly Orchestrate His Own Hate Crime?

You’ve got to be kidding me? This is why actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged his own hate crime. Apparently, Smollett was the recipient of a racist letter containing a white powder, later determined to be aspirin, on January 22 that didn’t get enough attention. So, he reportedly orchestrated his own assault in sub-zero temperatures that was executed on January 29. He allegedly hired two Nigerian brothers to do it. They bought the rope that was tied around his neck (allegedly). They even held rehearsals…allegedly. But seriously, this reportedly was over a letter?

Empire” actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged an attack against himself in late January after a “racist” letter sent to the TV show’s studio, which contained a white powder, did not get a “bigger reaction,” according to a local Chicago news station.

A source told CBS Chicago the actor allegedly “concocted” the “staged” Jan. 29 attack and paid his “acquaintances”—brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo—over $3,000 to carry it out.

Smollett reportedly opened the letter on Jan. 22 at Chicago’s Cinespace Studios, and the white powder prompted a HAZMAT team to respond. Chicago Police Department told the news station that the substance turned out to be asprin. Cinespace Studios would not comment to The Daily Beast about the incident. Fox, “Empire’s” network, also declined to provide comment or confirmation.

Plan for $500 Million Obama Presidential Library Gets Some Really Bad News

A half a billion dollar presidential library for former President Barack Obama planned in Chicago, Illinois, has hit a stumbling block in the form of a decision by a judge made Tuesday . . .

The lawsuit was filed by the Protect Our Parks organization, which accuses the Barack Obama Foundation of pulling a “bait and switch” by changing from a publicly run project to a privately run plan.

The goal of the lawsuit is to “bar the Park District and the City from approving the building of the Presidential Center and from conveying any interest in or control of the Jackson Park site to the Foundation.”

U.S. District Judge John Robert Blakey ruled against the foundation Tuesday and said the lawsuit could proceed.

Protect Our Parks argues that the plan would violate laws that bars private development on city land. The Barack Obama Foundation disputed the claim and asked for the lawsuit to be dismissed.

HAMMER: Roberts and Kavanaugh’s Death Penalty Betrayal Again Shows Why Conservatives Never Win the Long Game on Judges

How many betrayals from Republican-nominated Supreme Court Justices will it take to finally convince conservatives that the judicial deck is systemically stacked against us in such a way that we will simply never ultimately prevail? . . .

Today, Roberts and Kavanaugh yet again demonstrated to the legal conservative movement the fallacy of putting all one’s eggs in the alluring basket of the Supreme Court.

In Moore v. Texas, released this morning, the Court summarily reversed the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals’ determination that Mr. Moore “did not have intellectual disability and consequently was eligible for the death penalty.” Summary reversal, as Ed Whelan notes at National Review’s “Bench Memos” blog, is “ordinarily reserve[d]…for situations in which a lower court has clearly failed to abide by the Court’s precedents.”

But that clear failure to abide by precedent plainly did not happen here. And the unsigned, per curiam opinion in Moore today itself suggests as much. The opinion merely states that the Texas court’s decision below “rests upon analysis too much of which too closely resembles what we previously found improper.” And, as Justice Alito’s dissent notes, “each of the errors that the majority ascribes to the state court’s decision is traceable” to the Court’s failure to provide a clear adjudicative rule in 2017, when Mr. Moore’s case was last in front of the nine robed oracles. . .

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals’ determination had followed a previous remand from the Supreme Court in 2017 — a remand order from which, crucially, Chief Justice Roberts dissented. But today, the Chief Justice concurred with the Court’s liberal bloc in vacating the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals’ determination that Mr. Moore is eligible for the death penalty. Put simply, the Chief Justice completely flipped his stance in the same case, from two years earlier, in order to side with the Court’s liberals.

Here’s a List of Hoax Hate Crimes in the Trump Era

A Muslim woman at the University of Michigan received national attention from national outlets like The Washington Post in November 2016 after she claimed a drunk 20-something man threatened to light her on fire if she didn’t remove her hijab. The university condemned the “hateful attack,” which turned out to be a hoax. . .

Taylor Volk, an openly bisexual senior at North Park University claimed to be the target of hateful notes and emails following Trump’s election in November 2016. Volk told NBC News that “I just want them to stop.” But the “them” referenced by Volk turned out to be herself, as the whole thing was fabricated. . .

Philadelphia woman Ashley Boyer claimed in November 2016 that she was harassed at a gas station by white, Trump-supporting males, one of whom pulled a weapon on her. Boyer claimed that the men “proceeded to talk about the election and how they’re glad they won’t have to deal with n—–s much longer.” Boyer deleted her post after it went viral and claimed the men had been caught and were facing criminal charges. Local police debunked her account. . .

An 18-year-old Muslim woman in Louisiana claimed in November 2016 that two white men, one of whom was wearing a Trump hat, attacked and robbed her, taking her wallet and hijab while yelling racial slurs. She later admitted to the Lafayette Police Department that she made the whole thing up. . .

A church organist was arrested in May 2017 after he was found responsible for spray-painting a swastika, an anti-gay slur and the words “Heil Trump” on his own church in November 2016. When the story first broke, media outlets tied the hoax to Trump’s election. “The offensive graffiti at St. David’s is among numerous incidents that have occurred in the wake of Trump’s Election Day win,” The Washington Post reported at the time. Iran Spy Allegedly Radicalized at U.S. University

A former U.S. Air Force intelligence specialist accused of espionage for Iran, Monica Witt, was allegedly radicalized in part during a stint at a Washington university that has taken $100 million from Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries.

Certain American universities have received funding from the U.S. government with a partial goal of training students to be diplomats and intelligence specialists for the U.S., while simultaneously accepting financial donations from Middle East countries. In some cases, the programs have been staffed by academics who are critical of U.S. policy and who publicly espouse fringe positions. . .

Witt’s radicalization “was rooted in Ms. Witt’s military service and … accelerated while she was in graduate school” at George Washington University, where she earned a master’s degree in its Middle East Studies program, The New York Times reported. . .

Muslim-majority nations — plus a handful of private groups associated with them — have given $100 million to George Washington University in the form of gifts and contracts since 2011, according to Department of Education disclosures. That includes $80 million from Saudi Arabia, $14 million from Kuwait, $4.5 million from the United Arab Emirates, and $730,000 from Turkey. Most of those countries gave as recently as June 2018.

The Middle East centers of Washington-area universities provide a direct line to shaping U.S. policy. In 2011, for example, GWU’s now-director of the Middle East studies program Nathan Brown testified before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence: “We have no policy toward the [Muslim] Brotherhood. Two Men Stole Guns at SHOT Show. Here’s the Hiccup They Didn’t Anticipate.

By Townhall. On Wednesday, Jamikko Foster, 27, and Eduardo Limon, 28, were charged with stealing firearms from the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show. The two Las Vegas men worked as forklift drivers during the world’s largest firearms trade show, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The men stole so many items that the spreadsheet spanned two pages. The pair stole 65 firearms from four companies: Remington Arms, LKCI, Blaser USA and Legacy Sports International, the Review-Journal reported. . .

The reason the men were caught is because the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the hosts of SHOT Show, require all manufacturers to remove firing pins from weapons displayed during the show, meaning they’re inoperable.

The Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were made aware of the situation on a Wednesday and alerted local Federal Firearm Licensees (FFLs) to “be attentive for any individuals seeking gunsmithing services or, more specifically, firing pins.”

The next day, the owner of Gun Shop Las Vegas in Henderson alerted the ATF about a customer interaction from the day before. Foster, Limon and a woman purchased a shotgun and magazines and asked about firing pins for an AR-15. (Read more from “Two Men Stole Guns at SHOT Show. 2 Las Vegas Men Charged With Stealing Guns From SHOT Show

By Las Vegas Review-Journal. . .Both men were released on their own recognizance, though U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Koppe restricted them from possessing weapons while out of custody.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Phillip Smith told the judge that their jobs helped facilitate the thefts, though ATF agents “solved the crime in a near record-breaking period of time.” He added that the two men — who were part of Teamsters Local 631 — apparently had plans to sell the weapons. The prosecutor said Foster had a criminal history dating to 2010.

The list of weapons and accessories takes up two pages of a spreadsheet in a criminal complaint: Remington machine guns, rifles and pistols; Denel Land Systems machine guns; Mauser rifles, Glock pistols; Sauer & Sohn rifles; and Advanced Armament silencers.

The Las Vegas office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was notified of the thefts last week and launched an investigation with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center, the complaint stated.
