NOT WHAT YOU THOUGHT: Appellate Court Says Masterpiece Decision Requires Christians to “Bake that Cake”!

I take no pride in saying “See, I told you so,” except as it jolts us all out of our slumber of inaction in protecting the most important tenets of the First Amendment. Just three days after the court narrowly ruled in favor of the Colorado baker who declined to bake a cake for a gay union ceremony, an Arizona appeals court ruled, as we predicted, that based on the Masterpiece decision, any law coercing an individual to serve gay ceremonies is kosher so long as it’s applied neutrally.

Bizarrely, last week, rather than taking the Masterpiece ruling as a wake-up call to immediately fight for religious liberty through state and federal religious protection and private property protection laws, a number of conservatives heralded the decision as a victory for the cause of freedom. They failed to notice that Kennedy used the word “neutral” over a dozen times in indicating that a neutral coercion law against conscience and property is not only constitutional but needed to uphold the real inalienable rights of “dignity” through forcible use of someone else’s private property.

Last week, I warned that this opinion would green-light blue states, lower federal courts, and state courts to infringe on property and conscience rights in 99 percent of the other cases that didn’t involve the anomalies of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. On Thursday, the Arizona Court of Appeals confirmed our worst fears. The court cited Masterpiece nine times in asserting that while a “baker interposing a sincere religious objection to providing a wedding cake for a gay couple was entitled to a neutral and respectful consideration of his claim,” he cannot “impose a serious stigma on gay persons.”

Joanna Duka and Breanna Koski, who own a boutique shop selling artwork for home décor and weddings in Phoenix, are being forced to serve homosexual ceremonies under a Phoenix municipality ordinance limiting conscience rights when they come into conflict with the sexual identity agenda. They wanted to post a sign outside their Brush & Nib Studio stating that they won’t create any artwork that violates their beliefs, which includes “artwork that demeans others, endorses racism, incites violence, contradicts our Christian faith, or promotes any marriage except marriage between one man and one woman.”

What was the response of the appeals court? Remember when I pointed out how Kennedy used the word “neutral” over a dozen times? The court used his dicta to coerce these Christian artists to serve homosexual ceremonies and deny them the most basic free speech of posting a respectful sign outside their shop. They drew upon the following quote from the Masterpiece decision:

It is a general rule that such objections do not allow business owners and other actors in the economy and in society to deny protected persons equal access to goods and services under a neutral and generally applicable public accommodations law.

So, Nazis can march raucously through a Jewish neighborhood shouting hateful slogans, but Christians can’t post a respectful sign outside their own shop stating up front the type of services they do and do not offer.

Why?

Anything or anybody in the sexual identity alphabet soup is now a protected class with rights to other people’s property. According to the court, the First Amendment does not exist because it’s a case of “refusal of service to the LGBTQ community and not a First Amendment challenge to a specific message requested by a specific customer.”

We have now reached a point in time when an inane political acronym is now codified into law to the point that it supplants our founding principle of free speech. Why can’t we now create a “CPJ” acronym of protected classes for Catholics, Protestants, and Jews?

This opinion from Judge Lawrence Winthrop should send chills down the spines of not only religiously oriented people but anyone who believes in free speech and private property. After Obergefell and Masterpiece, we will see a torrent of anti-speech cases emanating from state and lower federal courts unless we the people act to counter the lawless, usurping courts.

Last week, I noted that religious liberty was dangling by a thread. That thread is being sawed away as we speak. If conservatives and secular defenders of free speech and property rights are content to stand idly and do nothing to promote legislative solutions and judicial reform, nothing less than the purpose of the American Revolution will be lost. Let us not forget the warnings of Madison during the first few years of the republic:

Government is instituted to protect property of every sort; as well that which lies in the various rights of individuals, as that which the term particularly expresses. This being the end of government, that alone is a just government, which impartially secures to every man, whatever is his own. […]

More sparingly should this praise be allowed to a government, where a man’s religious rights are violated by penalties, or fettered by tests, or taxed by a hierarchy. Conscience is the most sacred of all property; other property depending in part on positive law, the exercise of that, being a natural and unalienable right. To guard a man’s house as his castle, to pay public and enforce private debts with the most exact faith, can give no title to invade a man’s conscience which is more sacred than his castle, or to withhold from it that debt of protection, for which the public faith is pledged, by the very nature and original conditions of the social pact.

Time Reporter’s Insulting Question Backfires, Leads to Trump Giving Best Line of the Whole Historic Event

President Donald Trump shut down an anti-Trump naysayer from Time magazine at the press conference he held shortly after negotiating North Korea’s “complete denuclearization” agreement.

The reporter asked if Trump now considered Kim Jong Un his equal because POTUS had shown him a video of how the dictator’s country could look with future peace and prosperity. Confusing question? Ridiculous, actually, but President Trump responded with one of the most powerful statements to date about the historic event.

“If I have to say I’m sitting on a stage with Chairman Kim and that’s going to get us to save 30 million lives — maybe more than that — I’m willing to sit on the stage,” President Trump said. “I’m willing to travel to Singapore very proudly, very gladly.”

The liberal media is already trying to marginalize President Trump’s historic victory in bringing the reclusive North Korean dictator to the negotiating table by saying Kim “already won” by having a photo-op with a sitting United States president. . .

He explained: “If I can save millions of lives by coming here, sitting down, and establishing a relationship with someone who’s a very powerful man — who’s got firm control of a country and that country has very powerful nuclear weapons — it’s my honor to do it.”

We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him

By Townhall. Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) office has provided Townhall the following statement regarding last year’s attack.

“Before Senator Paul was violently attacked from behind, he had no conversations or discussions with the attacker. There was no ‘longstanding dispute.’ This description is untrue. It is impossible to have a dispute when no words of disagreement were ever spoken – neither immediately nor at any other time before the attack occurred. In the decade prior to the attack, Senator Paul had no contact with the attacker.

The attack was a pre-meditated assault that broke six of the Senator’s ribs and was complicated by fluid and blood around the lung and recurrent pneumonia. Any description of this attack that implies a “yard dispute” justifies such violence and misses the point.” . . .

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was left with six broken ribs, including three displaced fractures, and months of intense pain that felt like 1,000 knives after his neighbor attacked him last year. The assailant, Dr. Rene Boucher, attacked Paul while he was mowing his lawn. The senator had just stepped off the lawn mower and was wearing silencing earmuffs and never saw or heard his neighbor coming.

Contrary to original rumors, Boucher’s attack on the senator was not about politics. He was upset about yard debris, according to new court documents. (Read more from “We Finally Know Why Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him” HERE)

Rand Paul’s Neighbor Attacked Him Over Yard Debris, Now Awaits Sentencing

A neighbor who tackled U.S. Sen. Rand Paul “lost his temper” over yard debris on the property line between their homes, a court filing in the federal case said.
The neighbor, Dr. Rene Boucher, is asking a judge to grant probation in the case. Prosecutors are seeking a 21-month prison sentence.

A sentencing memorandum filed Friday by Boucher’s attorney said Paul repeatedly placed “unsightly” yard debris near the property line. On the day before the Nov. 3 attack, Boucher burned some debris left by Paul, according to the document obtained by the Daily News of Bowling Green. The next day, Paul placed more debris on the spot where the pile had been burned, it said.

Boucher, 60, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress and is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. . .

“Other than the isolated incident that is in issue, Dr. Boucher has been a pillar of his community, a solid citizen, a family man and a devout Christian,” Baker wrote in his memorandum. Archives Stumble Onto New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Government Records

The archivist in charge of transferring former President Barack Obama’s records into the National Archives has run across a serious problem, according to a report published Sunday: A lot of the records are missing.

“A first-rate librarian, (David) Ferriero has been driving a much-needed digital overhaul and expansion of the National Archives over the nine years of his appointment,” writer Thomas Lipscomb reported for RealClearPolitics. “This will greatly improve the ability of digital search locally and remotely, as well as accessing the files themselves.” . . .

The former president, it must be noted, signed a law that put electronic communications under the 1950 Federal Records Act. However, it doesn’t seem that his practice is quite what he preaches.

Lipscomb wrote that “the accumulation of recent congressional testimony has made it clear that the Obama administration itself engaged in the wholesale destruction and ‘loss’ of tens of thousands of government records covered under the act as well as the intentional evasion of the government records recording system by engaging in private email exchanges.”

“So far, former President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Lynch and several EPA officials have been named as offenders. The IRS suffered record ‘losses’ as well. Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy called it ‘an unauthorized private communications system for official business for the patent purpose of defeating federal record-keeping and disclosure laws.’” (Read more from “Archives Stumble Onto New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Government Records” HERE)

Establishment Media Silent: Trump Gets Unexpected Surprise Courtesy of Singapore Citizens

Since President Donald Trump’s first day in office, the liberally biased mainstream media has perpetuated the narrative that Trump is largely despised both at home and abroad, and that in other nations he is almost universally viewed as an embarrassment to the American people.

Thus, it came as no surprise whatsoever when the U.S. media essentially ignored the reception Trump received from cheering supporters upon his arrival Sunday in Singapore ahead of a high-stakes summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. . .

According to a series of photos published by The Daily Caller, the president received a boisterous welcome from not just U.S. citizens who live in Singapore, but also from Singaporean citizens as well.

A couple photos show a pair of young American women wearing red MAGA hats and waving American flags, with one of the girls even wearing a pair of patriotic socks emblazoned with Trump’s name.

Fans of the president had gathered at the airport to greet his arrival, andlined the streets of the route used to transport him via presidential motorcade to the Shangri-La Hotel, as well as the Singaporean prime minister’s residence, the Istana Palace. Here’s the Photo You Didn’t See: Moments From Merkel’s Viral G7 Shot the Scene Changed

A photo German Chancellor Angela Merkel shared on social media has gone viral, with liberals claiming she’s berating President Trump while she stands over him at the G7 Summit.

The photo has been claimed a “victory” by both liberals and conservatives, despite the fact that it shows who’s really in charge (i.e., the guy casually sitting down while others jump through hoops for his attention).

Merkel, who has been dubbed “German Hillary,” clearly understands the power of propaganda and getting your narrative out first. While the photo she shared went viral with the “she’s-the-boss” narrative that Merkel wanted to promote, what people didn’t see was that in the same moments, Merkel and the entire group burst out into laughter.

German reporter Fabian Reinbold tweeted several different angles of the photo, showing how each world leader put him or herself at the center of power in the informal group snapshot. Apparently, the photographic arms race is even fiercer than the nuclear arms race.

John McCain Viciously Undermines Trump to World Leaders in Absolutely Inexcusable Message to Our Allies

By Bizpac Review. . .Proving that he’s determined to be a thorn in President Trump’s side even on his deathbed, McCain once again tried to undermine the billionaire by slamming the tariffs Trump slapped on China and Canada (you know, like the ones they charge on American goods).

Senator McCain tweeted during the G7 Summit: “To our allies: bipartisan majorities of Americans remain pro-free trade, pro-globalization and supportive of alliances based on 70 years of shared values. Americans stand with you, even if our president doesn’t.”

For the record, a senator does not make U.S. trade policy, nor does he speak for all Americans.

McCain was reacting to President Trump’s controversial announcement that the U.S. will impose tariffs on some imports from Canada and China to make up for the decades-long trade deficit with the two countries.

Justin Trudeau Furious Over Trump’s Steel Tariffs, Says Canada Will Retaliate

By Daily Caller. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called President Donald Trump’s steel tariffs against his country’s products “inconceivable” and threatened to retaliate in kind within the coming months.

Trudeau called Trump’s protectionist gambit “totally unacceptable” during a Thursday afternoon press conference. It is “inconceivable” that “Canada could be considered a national security threat to the United States,” he added.

Canada will impose tariffs against American steel and aluminum in the amount of $16.6 billion at rates of 25 percent and 10 percent, a number representing the total value of Canada’s 2017 steel and aluminum U.S. exports. They’ll go into effect on July 1 and stay in place until the U.S. ends its own tariffs.

Tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum from the European Union, Canada and Mexico will take effect Thursday at midnight, Wilbur Ross, the U.S. commerce secretary, told The New York Times Thursday. All three together supply nearly half of America’s imported metal. (Read more from “Justin Trudeau Furious Over Trump’s Steel Tariffs, Says Canada Will Retaliate” HERE)

Instantly After Obama Deal, “Queers” Are All Over Netflix

Looks like failed ex-President Obama is already having a major impact on Netflix after signing his $50,000,000 contract with the online media streaming giant. Take a look at Netflix’s recent tweet and trailer for its children-oriented series called “Super Drags”:

Here’s what SyFy.com is saying about the the new show:

Netflix has debuted a teaser for its new animated show Super Drags and it looks to combine everything we love in this world. Superheroes — CHECK. Animation — CHECK. Drag queens — CHECK.

From Brazilian studio Combo Studios, Super Drags follows Patrick, Donny and Ramon as they work by day and WERK by night. According to Brazilian website Cosmonerd, the three “work in a department store with annoying customers and a picky boss. At night, they release their inner divas to become Lemon Chiffon, Cran’s Sapphire and Crimson Scarlet: three incredibly fabulous Super Drags who have been recruited to gather the LGBT community and spread glitter in the world.” And they don’t mean that glitter part in a figurative way. According to the teaser’s YouTube description, the Super Drags are “ready to combat shade and rescue the world’s glitter from the evil villains.” No tea, no shade, NO GLITTER? Save us, Super Drags!

This is truly a perfect gift to kick off Pride month. Executive producer Marcelo Pereira said, “Thanks to Netflix we can take the Brazilian animation and mainly the LGBTQ representativeness to the 190 countries that have access to the service.”

Not everyone is that excited over Netflix’s efforts to indoctrinate children into perversion. Here’s how one Twitter user reacted:

Little doubt with Obama on board, we’ll see much more of this type of Netflix-sewage in the future. Time to cancel your subscription, if you haven’t already.

Wasserman Schultz Confronted Over Accusations She Tried to Shutdown Probe. Her Response Says It All.

Former Democratic National Committee chairman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) refuses to respond to allegations she tried to shut down an investigation into former Democratic IT aides. . .

As the Daily Caller News Foundation has reported, House investigators believe a handful of Democratic IT aides made “unauthorized access” to congressional servers in 2016, accessing data of members of Congress they did not work for and even logging in as members of Congress. . .

When Wasserman Schultz learned of investigator’s conclusions, she became “frantic, not normal,” and made “rounds” to House officials to kill the investigation, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

She even cornered House chief administrative officer Phil Kiko, calling him a “f***ing Islamophobe” and saying “you will not so much as take away their parking spots,” sources told the Daily Caller News Foundation. . .

On Friday, she was confronted by a reporter from the Daily Caller News Foundation over allegations she tried to kill the investigation, in addition to her alleged comments to Kiko.

Bombshell: Iran Admits to Facilitating 9/11 Attacks

By Washington Free Beacon. Iranian officials, in a first, have admitted to facilitating the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. by secretly aiding the free travel of al Qaeda operatives who eventually went on to fly commercial airliners into the Twin Towers in New York City, according to new remarks from a senior Iranian official.

Mohammad-Javad Larijani, an international affairs assistant in the Iran’s judiciary, disclosed in Farsi-language remarks broadcast on Iran’s state-controlled television that Iranian intelligence officials secretly helped provide the al Qaeda attackers with passage and gave them refuge in the Islamic Republic, according to an English translation published by Al Arabiya.

“Our government agreed not to stamp the passports of some of them because they were on transit flights for two hours, and they were resuming their flights without having their passports stamped. However their movements were under the complete supervision of the Iranian intelligence,” Larijani was quoted as saying. . .

The U.S. government has long accused Iran of playing a role in the attacks and even fined the Islamic Republic billions as a result. The U.S. 9/11 Commission assembled to investigate the attacks concluded that Iran played a role in facilitating the al Qaeda terrorists.

Larijani admitted that Iranian officials did not stamp the passports of the al Qaeda militants in order to obfuscate their movements and prevent detection by foreign governments. Al Qaeda operative also were given safe refuge in Iran. (Read more from “Bombshell: Iran Admits to Facilitating 9/11 Attacks” HERE)

Iran Faces New Threat as Kurdish Jihadis Join IS in Afghanistan

By Al-Monitor. A group of journalists had gathered at the site of a bomb blast in the center of Kabul, the Afghan capital, on the morning of April 30. Suddenly, a suicide bomber carrying a press card slipped past police and approached the journalists. As the bomb he was carrying went off, seven media workers died on the spot. Two more later died of their injuries, bringing the death toll of the two blasts to 26.

The Islamic State’s (IS) Afghanistan branch, known as Wilayat Khorasan, claimed responsibility for the attacks and released an image, dated April 29, of the two suicide bombers standing next to each other with their faces covered. One of them was identified by IS as Qaqa al-Kurdi. IS did not reveal where Kurdi came from, but for decades, both Iranian and Iraqi Kurds have been known to travel in large numbers to Afghanistan in pursuit of jihad. They have swelled the ranks of a number of groups over the years, and most recently IS.

Mukhtar Hooshmand, an expert on tracking the movement of Kurdish jihadis from Iran and Iraq, told Al-Monitor that he has identified Qaqa al-Kurdi as a 29-year-old man from Iran’s western Kermanshah province. The province has gained notoriety in recent years, as hundreds of young Kurds hailing from there and other Kurdish areas have traveled to Syria and Iraq to join IS and the jihadi group previously known as Jabhat al-Nusra (now called Jabhat Fatah al-Sham). Indeed, all of the IS suicide bombers who struck the Iranian parliament and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in Tehran last summer hailed from Kermanshah province.

Following the IS attack in Tehran, Iran appears to have woken up to the jihadi threat and has arrested hundreds of Iranian Kurdish extremists. But as the IS project in Iraq and Syria is falling apart, Iranian Kurdish jihadis have changed direction and are now heading eastward instead to join Wilayat Khorasan, sources familiar with Sunni extremism in Iran’s Kurdish areas told Al-Monitor.

Iran sees western Afghanistan as a vulnerable spot that could be exploited by IS and hostile countries. As such, the Islamic Republic appears to have tried to fortify its defenses by allegedly propping up the Taliban to fight IS as well as NATO and Afghan forces stationed there.
