The United States Is Radical On Abortion When Compared To Other Countries

The United States is a major outlier when it comes to how most of the world handles abortion law. . .

If the ability to determine abortion law does return to the states, many legislatures will likely take action to limit the procedure or ban it altogether, but others will broaden its access. However, the United States is currently and will likely remain one of the most radical countries in the world when it comes to abortion. . .

In 2017, a Washington Post report fact-checked the claim that the U.S. is “one of seven countries that ‘allow elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy,’” finding the statement to be “surprisingly” true.

The Post pointed to a 2014 report by the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute that examined “198 countries, independent states, and semi-autonomous regions” with populations of over 1 million people. The group found that of these areas, 59 permit abortion on demand. The other 139 countries mandate “some reason” to get an abortion.

When compared to the other 58 countries, the U.S. is one of only seven nations that allows “elective abortion” past the 20-week mark. Supreme Court precedent established that states must allow abortion up to the point of fetal viability, which is typically around 24 weeks of pregnancy. Democrats Admit It’s Women Who Get Abortions After All

Democrats made an admission about what type of people can actually get abortions in the wake of a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion showing justices could potentially overturn Roe v. Wade.

After many liberals pushed for gender-neutral terms surrounding pregnancy and abortion such as “birthing people” instead of “women,” prominent Democrats made statements appearing to suggest only women can get pregnant and have abortions.

President Joe Biden characterized abortion as a women’s rights issue in a Tuesday statement that emphasized women’s reproductive freedom.

“I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental,” he said. “[I]f the Court does overturn Roe, it will fall on our nation’s elected officials at all levels of government to protect a woman’s right to choose.”

Hillary Clinton also painted abortion as a women’s issue.

Amazon to Foot the Bill for Employees’ Abortion Tourism

Amazon will fund up to $4,000 in annual travel expenses for employees seeking abortions, according to a company spokesman, joining several other large corporations with similar policies.

The company announced in an internal message that it will cover travel expenses for abortions when an employee cannot obtain one within 100 miles of their home and “virtual care” is not possible, according to Reuters. Citigroup, Apple, Match Group, and Yelp are also covering abortion-related travel expenses for employees.

An Amazon spokesman confirmed the policy to the Daily Caller News Foundation but declined to comment further. It will go into effect retroactively, extending to Jan. 1, 2022.

The Amazon policy will cover $4,000 of travel for non-life-threatening medical procedures other than abortions as well, according to Reuters.

Abortionists Open First Surgical Center to Kill Babies in State Called ‘Abortion Desert’

Wyoming, a so-called “abortion desert,” will be opening its first surgical abortion facility this summer to be located between Wyoming Medical Center and downtown Casper. It will be operated by Circle of Hope Health Care Service, a pro-abortion non-profit whose mission, according to its website, is to “expand access to reproductive health care in abortion deserts around the world.”

Casper is centrally located in the state of Wyoming; therefore, this new abortion facility will be accessible to the majority of women within the state. Wyoming women have had access to chemical abortions up to the tenth week of pregnancy, but the new facility will be the state’s first surgical abortion facility. Julie Burkhart, Circle of Hope’s Director, explained, “Our goal in launching this clinic is to ensure that more people in Wyoming and the broader region have access to the reproductive health care they need, including abortion care.”

Burkhart was the CEO of Trust Women and has established two abortion facilities and oversees a third. She also previously worked alongside Dr. George Tiller, an abortionist who committed abortions up to 36 weeks and who was shot and killed in 2009 by a violent man professing to be anti-abortion. Dr. Tiller had a full-size crematorium in his office for cremating babies.

The new facility is expected to open in June of 2022 and is funded by private donors. The range of services the facility will offer has not been established but its goal is to provide full-spectrum reproductive healthcare, in addition to abortions. Burkhart said they are in the process of hiring doctors and staff members. (Read more from “Abortionists Open First Surgical Center to Kill Babies in State Called ‘Abortion Desert’” HERE)

Kentucky Legislature Overrides Democrat Governor’s Veto, Passes Abortion Ban

The Republican-led Kentucky State Legislature overrode Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto on Wednesday and passed a bill that outlaws abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The law is modeled after Mississippi’s law, which is currently before the Supreme Court and is the greatest challenge in decades to the Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision declaring abortion a protected right under the U.S. Constitution. The Kentucky House voted 76-21, and the Senate voted 31-6 to override Beshear’s veto, and the law will go into effect immediately.

Advocates say the law will “force the state’s two clinics to stop providing abortions immediately,” the Washington Post reported. The new law only allows abortion if a woman’s life is in danger and does not include exceptions for rape or incest. It also limits medication abortion and requires the cremation or burial of fetal remains, the report states. Disturbing: Electric Company ‘Incinerating Babies’ Bodies for Power’

Tuesday morning, pro-life activists from the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) group held a press conference regarding the recovery of five aborted children from Washington Surgi-Center, an abortion facility owned and operated by abortionist Cesare Santangelo in Washington, D.C. Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director of PAAU, and Lauren Handy, director of activism for PAAU, state that they were given a box of medical waste containing the remains of aborted children by a Curtis Bay Energy driver. But what is allegedly being done with Curtis Bay Energy’s so-called “medical waste” is truly disturbing.

One of the speakers at the press conference, Missy Smith, stated that Curtis Bay Energy is burning the bodies of aborted babies (along with medical waste) to create energy for Baltimore. “This means, tragically, that they receive, transfer, and burn the corpses of aborted babies to make electricity for the households and businesses of the Baltimore area,” Smith said. “If you live in the Baltimore area, you must know that aborted babies have been burned to keep your lights on and your house warm. We call on Curtis Bay Energy to end this barbaric practice, and confirm publicly that they have done so.”

According to the Curtis Bay Energy website, the company has the largest medical waste incinerator in the country, and is “the only facility in the Northeast Region that utilizes Waste-to-Energy incineration to safely convert infectious/biomedical waste and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals into useful energy.” Their process begins with “collection personnel” who transport the “material” to their autoclave or incineration disposal facilities.

It is not unheard of for aborted children to be used as an electricity source. In the United Kingdom, the bodies of thousands of miscarried and aborted babies were burned and then used to heat British hospitals. Similar practices were found to be taking place in British Columbia (Canada) and in Oregon (U.S). According to Live Science, this is a routine practice around the world.

Yet despite the testimony of Bukovinac and Handy, as well as photos showing Curtis Bay Energy stamped on the collection boxes and the delivery truck, Curtis Bay Energy denies any involvement in transporting fetal remains or using them to make electricity. Texas DA Will Drop Murder Charges Against Woman Who Performed a ‘Self-Induced’ Abortion

The Texas district attorney who filed murder charges against a woman after she allegedly performed a “self-induced” abortion announced Sunday that the charges will be dropped.

Gocha Allen Ramirez, the district attorney for Starr, Jim Hogg, and Duval counties, initially filed the charges against Lizelle Herrera but has since filed a motion to dismiss them. . .

Herrera, 26, was arrested Thursday by the Starr County Sheriff’s Office and was charged with murder for allegedly terminating her own pregnancy through a “self-induced abortion,” according to officials. She is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told said Herrera was arrested after officials became aware that she “intentionally and knowingly cause[d] the death of an individual by self-induced abortion.”

Texas’ heartbeat law enacted in September prohibits abortions after a heartbeat is detected, which is typically around six weeks of pregnancy. The law also allows private citizens to sue people believed to be aiding and abetting the procedure, including doctors, people who fund a woman’s abortion and anyone who drives a woman to get the procedure. The U.S. Supreme Court and Texas Supreme Court have both ruled against efforts to overturn the Texas abortion law. Oklahoma State House Approves Bill to Make Abortion Illegal

The Oklahoma House gave final legislative approval on Tuesday to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

With little discussion and no debate, the Republican-controlled House voted 70-14 to send the bill to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has previously said he’d sign any anti-abortion bill that comes to his desk. . .

The Oklahoma bill, which passed the Senate last year, makes an exception only for an abortion performed to save the life of the mother, said GOP state Rep. Jim Olsen, of Roland, who sponsored the bill. Under the bill, a person convicted of performing an abortion would face up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

“The penalties are for the doctor, not for the woman,” Olsen said. (Read more from “Oklahoma State House Approves Bill to Make Abortion Illegal” HERE)

Major Company to Cover Travel Expenses for Employees Seeking an Abortion

American multinational investment bank Citigroup Inc., known as Citi, will reportedly cover travel expenses for U.S.-based employees seeking an abortion.

“In response to changes in reproductive healthcare laws in certain states in the U.S., beginning in 2022 we provide travel benefits to facilitate access to adequate resources,” Citi wrote in a filing for its shareholders meetings scheduled April 26.

Axios reported that the policy will cover travel expenses, including airfare and lodging, for staff who travel out-of-state to obtain an abortion. This comes as several states enact laws restricting access to abortion and as the Supreme Court weighs a case that could overturn the precedents set by Roe v. Wade.

‘The move [Citi’s policy] comes after Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed legislation last year that banned abortion after six weeks, making it one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the U.S.,” Axios noted. As I covered, Idaho lawmakers passed legislation this week mirroring the law in their state. The bill is headed to Republican Gov. Brad Little’s desk. Lawmakers Now Consider Legalizing Letting Babies up to a Month Old Die

. . .According to the team of legal experts, “The Maryland legislative session is in full swing, and once again, abortion advocates are pushing their radical abortion agenda. Recently, we told you about the testimony we presented against Maryland House Bill 1171, which is attempting to codify Roe v. Wade in the Maryland constitution. Now, we’re preparing to submit testimony on Maryland Senate Bill 669 – also known as the Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022.”

That bill, at first glance, looks like it simply changes “woman” to “pregnant person” in its references.

But its provisions to prevent a “pregnant person” from being investigated for “terminating or attempting to terminate” her own pregnancy is where the plan gets lethal.

“The bill also proposes a revision of the fetal murder/manslaughter statute that would serve to handcuff the investigation of infant deaths unrelated to abortion. In other words – this bill will effectively legalize infanticide,” the ACLJ reported.

“The exact language of the bill states: ‘This section may not be construed to authorize any form of investigation or penalty for a person . . . experiencing a . . . perinatal death related to a failure to act.’ (Emphasis added). In other words, a baby born alive and well could be abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death, and nothing could be done to punish those who participated in that cruel death,” the organization’s report explained.
