SCHIFF SLIP: Adam Schiff Reveals Real Reason for Trump Impeachment; ‘It’s All a Lie!’: Constituents Scream at Democrat Over Impeachment (VIDEO)

By Daily Wire. On Tuesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) made a slip-up seemingly revealing the real reason Democrats are ramming clearly partisan impeachment proceedings down the nation’s throat: Trump, according to Democrats like Schiff, is an illegitimate president that was not supposed to win in 2016 and must be stopped before 2020.

“Schiff, a California Democrat, strongly suggested in a press conference Tuesday that Trump colluded with the Russians to undermine the 2016 election and win the White House,” The Washington Examiner posted, though a two-year investigation from special counsel Robert Mueller showed there was no highly-hyped “Russian collusion” with President Trump.

“The argument, ‘Why don’t you just wait?’, amounts to this: Why don’t you just let him cheat in one more election?” Schiff said Tuesday, fending off criticism that the Democrats are not actually concerned about the truth due to their rush with impeachment. “Why not let him have foreign help one more time?”

Schiff’s latest admission comes in the concert with fellow Democrats, at various times since Trump’s election, stating that their mission is to remove Trump from office because of his politics. . .

This comes in stark contrast with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claiming impeachment is a “somber” and “prayerful” process Democrats would rather not engage in. (Read more from “SCHIFF SLIP: Adam Schiff Reveals Real Reason for Trump Impeachment” HERE)

‘It’s All a Lie!’: Constituents Scream at Democrat Over Impeachment During Town Hall

By Washington Examiner. Democratic Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger faced backlash from some of her constituents about the impeachment investigation during a town hall in her home district.

In the town hall over the weekend, Spanberger tried addressing the impeachment process, but she was interrupted by multiple people expressing their support for President Trump.

“My opinion of our inquiry is mine and mine alone. No one has pressured me to vote in any particular way from within the party. And I will not be pressured to vote in any particular way,” she said. “The allegations against the president are incredibly, incredibly serious,” she said, according to CNN.

“It’s a lie. It’s all a lie!” one man shouted. Someone else yelled, “You all have been trying to impeach this man since he got elected!” Another man asserted Trump “hasn’t done anything wrong,” while yet another man implored the congresswoman, “Let our votes count! Don’t take them away!”

Defiant Devin Nunes Fires Back at Schiff Phone Record Subpoena (VIDEO)

Republican California Rep. Devin Nunes fired back at Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff during Wednesday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” calling his phone record subpoena a violation of his “civil rights.”

Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee chairman, released his committee’s impeachment inquiry report Tuesday, which revealed the acquisition of several personal phone records of conversations involving Nunes, investigative reporter John Solomon, and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.

“He has subpoena power,” Nunes told Fox News host Tucker Carlson when asked how it happened. “So when the Democrats gained control, they have subpoena power. We knew he had issued – he notified us that he had subpoenaed some phone numbers. We didn’t know who those numbers were. And, of course, because it’s … classified, we can’t talk about it.” . . .

“And because I had talked to Rudy Giuliani and somehow that’s now a crime, and then I make it into his report,” said Nunes. “We spent the last three years, if any Republican ever talked to any Russian at any time, even if you are Russian-American, that was a no-no. Then we were criticized. We switched to Ukraine. If you talk to any Ukrainian that’s now a crime. Now I can’t even talk to Rudy Giuliani, who I have known for 10 years. That’s supposedly a crime. And I’m in his report for supposedly doing something wrong. So this is — this is wrong. And what is happening, whatever is happening in this town is wrong and look, I’m going to look at whatever legal remedies I have. Because I actually have some civil rights here too.”

Adam Schiff Has Submitted His Recommendation on Whether to Impeach President Trump

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff has released a report summarizing two weeks of impeachment inquiry hearings and months of investigation into President Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“This report reflects the evidence gathered thus far by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, in coordination with the Committee on Oversight and Reform and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, as part of the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry into Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States,” Schiff released in a statement attached to the report.

“The decision to move forward with an impeachment inquiry is not one we took lightly. Under the best of circumstances, impeachment is a wrenching process for the nation. I resisted calls to undertake an impeachment investigation for many months on that basis, notwithstanding the existence of presidential misconduct that I believed to be deeply unethical and damaging to our democracy. The alarming events and actions detailed in this report, however, left us with no choice but to proceed,” he said.

Schiff calls the report “evidence,” but hours of testimony about “presumed,” “I heard,” “I felt,” etc. don’t hold up to that claim. The report is essentially 72 hours of testimony repackaged by Schiff and his staff to justify impeachment.

“As this report details, the impeachment inquiry has found that President Trump, personally and acting through agents within and outside of the U.S. government, solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, to benefit his reelection. In furtherance of this scheme, President Trump conditioned official acts on a public announcement by the new Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, of politically-motivated investigations, including one into President Trump’s domestic political opponent,” Schiff continued. “In pressuring President Zelensky to carry out his demand, President Trump withheld a White House meeting desperately sought by the Ukrainian President, and critical U.S. military assistance to fight Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.” (Read more from “Adam Schiff Has Submitted His Recommendation on Whether to Impeach President Trump” HERE)

Schiff Planning More Impeachment Hearings After Failing to Make His Case

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) says he’s planning a new round of impeachment hearings amid claims from Democrats and the media that House Democrats did not make their case for impeachment.

Over the weekend, The Daily Wire reported that vulnerable Democrats — and even left-leaning media stalwart, The New York Times — were questioning whether Democratic leadership should move forward on an impeachment vote, given that the House Intelligence Committee, led by Schiff, failed to do much more than establish circumstantial evidence of a possible quid pro quo agreement between the president and Ukrainian officials.

Vulnerable and moderate Democrats say the hearings, which produced little in the way of first-person testimony of President Donald Trump’s alleged “high crimes and misdemeanors,” and featured few big-name witnesses, are costing them support and could cost them key races. Independents are fleeing from the impeachment inquiry in droves and, for the first time since the hearings started, fewer than 50% of Americans believe the President should be impeached.

Furthermore, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has been suspiciously absent these last two weeks, has refused to provide air support in toss-up races, and the Democratic National Committee isn’t matching the millions of dollars in advertising that Republicans plan to air over Thanksgiving and the holiday season, pushing against the Democrats’ message of presidential malfeasance.

To top it off, The New York Times questioned Schiff’s handling of the impeachment inquiry on Saturday, suggesting that the absence of major players from the witness stand shows Schiff is nervous about his own case. Adam Schiff Won Election by Campaigning AGAINST Impeachment

While Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff today is the face of Democrats’ impeachment push, the 10-term congressman first won his seat by staking out a hard line against the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.

Schiff defeated former Republican California Rep. James Rogan in 2000 by hammering Rogan’s role in the Clinton impeachment.

“Impeachment as a political issue has all but disappeared from America’s political radar in this election, with even Al Gore refusing to make the partisan death match of 1998 and 1999 a campaign issue in the year 2000. But here, in California’s 27th District, Rogan’s battle with Democratic state Sen. Adam Schiff seems the last bloody battle of the impeachment war,” Anthony York recounted in an October 2000 Salon article.

Schiff “used impeachment as a fundraising tool,” York noted in the article, which the Daily Caller News Foundation reviewed using research service LexisNexis.

“Schiff’s campaign literature hammers away on Rogan’s role in the impeachment proceedings,” The Washington Post noted in a May 2000 article. Schiff argued in one fundraising missive that “in the partisan impeachment hearings that polarized our nation for so long, the right-wing Rogan stood out,” The San Diego Tribune reported that same month in an article reviewed by the DCNF using Lexis. WATCH: If House Impeaches, Trump ‘Wants a Trial in the Senate’; GOP Congressman Goes OFF on Schiff

By Breitbart. On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley stated that if the House moves forward on impeachment, President Trump “wants a trial in the Senate” and to bring up witnesses like House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), the whistleblower, and Hunter and Joe Biden.

GOP Congressman Accuses Schiff of Abusing His Power During Impeachment Hearings

By Washington Examiner. Rep. Mike Conaway accused House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff of abusing his power during one of the impeachment hearings held Thursday on Capitol Hill.

Conaway, a Texas Republican, became frustrated with Schiff after the California Democrat attempted to cut him off during questioning.

“Mr. Conaway, your time is expired,” Schiff told Conaway before telling the witness, David Holmes, “You were cut off when you were talking about Mr. Sondland’s indiscretion. Did you want to finish that answer?”

“Mr. Chairman, that’s patently unfair. As is this entire investigation,” Conaway shot back. Schiff said Conaway had repeatedly cut off witnesses before, a comment that elicited a furious response from the Texas Republican.

Adam Schiff Threatens Republicans Over Whistleblower; Schiff Reveals Trump’s ‘Potentially Impeachable Offenses’

By Townhall. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is threatening Republican lawmakers ahead of the first public impeachment inquiry hearing on Wednesday and warning that any criticism of the whistleblower could prompt an Ethics Committee investigation. Schiff is also going out of his way to protect the Bidens from scrutiny.

“As explained in my November 9, 2019, response to the Ranking Member, it is important to underscore that the House’s impeachment inquiry, and the Committee, will not serve as venues for any Member to further the same sham investigations into the Bidens or into debunked conspiracies about the 2016 U.S. election interference that President Trump pressed Ukraine to undertake for his personal political benefit,” Schiff wrote in a memo to the Committee laying out the rules for the hearing.

Adam Schiff: Trump’s Potentially Impeachable Offenses Include Bribery

By Breitbart. On Tuesday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Morning Edition,” House Intelligence chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said there was a clear argument to be made that President Donald Trump committed “bribery.”

Schiff said, “I don’t think any decision has been made on the ultimate question about whether articles of impeachment should be brought. But on the basis of what the witnesses have had to say so far, there are any number of potentially impeachable offenses: including bribery, including high crimes and misdemeanors. The basic allegations against the president are that he sought foreign interference in a U.S. election, that he conditioned official acts on the performance of these political favors — and those official acts include a White House meeting that the president of Ukraine desperately sought with President Trump, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded military assistance for a country that is at war with Russia and a country that the United States has a deep national security interest in making sure it can defend itself.” (Read more from “Adam Schiff: Trump’s Potentially Impeachable Offenses Include Bribery” HERE)

Ethics Complaint Filed Against Adam Schiff

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) announced Wednesday that he has filed a formal complaint against fellow congressman and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), accusing his colleague of several instances of “unprofessional and divisive behavior.”

Schiff has been a longtime critic of President Donald Trump, and has taken the lead in House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into the president. . .

In Gaetz’s letter to the Ethics Committee — who have been quite busy the past few weeks — he referred to Schiff’s self-described “parody” account of a phone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “wildly-inaccurate and distorted ‘retelling'” that “grossly misrepresent[ed] the content of the call to the American people.”

Gaetz also pointed to a March 2017 interview where “Mr. Schiff claimed to have ‘more than circumstantial evidence’ of President Trump and his campaign ‘colluding’ with Russia.” The Florida congressman continued, “As the report from Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has made clear, Mr. Schiff’s claim was baseless and untrue; to date, Chairman Schiff has not justified his statement.” (Read more from “Ethics Complaint Filed Against Adam Schiff” HERE)

Republicans Excoriate Democrats After They Defeat Resolution to Censure Adam Schiff

Democrats defeated a resolution to censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Monday on a partisan vote of 218 to 185.

Every Democrat voted to table the measure, and all Republicans voted against tabling it. Schiff was criticized for lying about whether the Ukraine whistleblower had contact with his office, and also for falsely quoting the president during a congressional hearing.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) criticized Schiff in a statement after the vote.

“Each member of Congress must uphold a high standard of honesty and integrity. When it comes to matters of our national security, that responsibility is even greater,” McCarthy said.

“Chairman Schiff has fallen short in his duty,” he continued. “From claiming he had evidence of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign to covering up his committee’s relationship with the whistleblower, he has demonstrated a pattern of lying to the American people on matters of intelligence.”

Republican Leaders Preparing to Censure Adam Schiff over Fictionalized Account of Trump-Ukraine Phone Call

House Republicans are moving forward with efforts to censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., they announced at a news conference Wednesday morning.

“Today, we’re going to be pressing forward with my motion to censure Mr. Schiff, joined by the vast majority of Republicans in this conference,” House Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., told reporters at the conference, at which he was joined by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, Wyo. Biggs also said that the resolution had thus far been joined by almost 150 members of Congress, “with more coming up today to sign on.”

In a tweet ahead of the news conference, Biggs said that he would call for a vote on the censure later the same day.

During his remarks, Biggs accused Schiff of having the “temerity to absolutely fabricate” a version of the conversation between President Trump and the president of Ukraine over the phone in late July. “He could have read the transcripts,” Biggs added. “Instead he made, whole cloth, a fabrication of something that just absolutely was untrue.”

Biggs introduced the measure to censure Schiff last month, following the top Democrat’s fictionalized retelling of the Trump-Ukraine phone call at a hearing of the House Intelligence Committee. At the same hearing, Schiff defended his version of events as “parody.”

The measure says that Schiff’s actions “misled the American people, bring disrepute upon the House of Representatives, and make a mockery of the impeachment process” and resolves that the House “censures and condemns” the Democratic chairman.

Since he introduced the measure to censure Schiff, Biggs added, the intelligence committee chairman “has taken this to a Soviet-style inquiry. That is to say, everything is behind closed doors; there’s absolutely no transparency.”

The Freedom Caucus chairman also took issue with the overall construction of the House’s impeachment proceedings, echoing the White House’s criticisms that Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced the probe without holding a floor vote or affording minority party members and the executive branch procedures that were present for previous impeachment efforts.

“The speaker has taken it upon herself to run an impeachment investigation outside the norm, in violation of the House rules,” Biggs said. “There’s nothing specifically in the rules, except for this: Where there’s nothing specific, our rules say precedent takes place. So she’s outside the rules because she’s outside the precedent.” (For more from the author of “Republican Leaders Preparing to Censure Adam Schiff over Fictionalized Account of Trump-Ukraine Phone Call” please click HERE)
