House Appropriations Democrat Threatens to Withhold Administration Pay over Ambassador’s Canceled Testimony

A Democratic member of the House Appropriations Committee has threatened to withhold executive branch pay over the canceled testimony of a United States diplomat amid the House’s ongoing impeachment efforts.

Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump said that U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland would not appear at a planned deposition that was part of House Democrats’ ongoing impeachment efforts because he didn’t want the official to be subject to a “compromised kangaroo court.”

That afternoon, Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claiming that the White House’s decision violated federal law passed earlier this year and that whomever was responsible for it could have their pay withheld.

In the letter, Pocan sited a section of federal appropriations law passed in February that prohibits paying the salary of any “officer or employee of the Federal Government who prohibits or prevents … any other officer or employee of the Federal Government from … communication or contact with any Member, committee, or subcommittee of the Congress.”

“I believe the person prohibiting Ambassador Sondland from testifying before the House Intelligence Committee is in violation of this statute, and that their salary should be withheld until Ambassador Sondland appears before Congress,” wrote Pocan, who sits on three appropriations subcommittees.

BOMBSHELL: Schiff Knew About Whistleblower Allegations Well Before Complaint Filed; Adam Schiff ‘Could Have Been More Clear’ About Contact With ‘Whistleblower’

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California, learned about the allegations that a CIA officer was wanting to make against President Donald Trump days before the officer filed an official whistleblower complaint.

“The early account by the future whistle-blower … explains how Mr. Schiff knew to press for the complaint when the Trump administration initially blocked lawmakers from seeing it,” The New York Times reported. “Before going to Congress, the C.I.A. officer had a colleague convey his accusations to the agency’s top lawyer. Concerned about how that avenue for airing his allegations was unfolding, the officer then approached a House Intelligence Committee aide, alerting him to the accusation against Mr. Trump. ”

The Times notes that the House staff member, who advised the CIA officer to get a lawyer and to file an official whistleblower complaint, informed Schiff of what the whistleblower was alleging against the president.

“The whistle-blower’s decision to offer what amounted to an early warning to the intelligence committee’s Democrats is also sure to thrust Mr. Schiff even more forcefully into the center of the controversy,” the Times added. “By the time the whistle-blower filed his complaint, Mr. Schiff and his staff knew at least vaguely what it contained.”

“We don’t call him shifty Schiff for nothing,” Trump said on Wednesday. “He’s a shifty, dishonest guy.” (Read more from “Bombshell: Schiff Knew About Whistleblower Allegations Well Before Complaint Filed” HERE)

Adam Schiff ‘Could Have Been More Clear’ About Contact With ‘Whistleblower’

By Breitbart. An official with the House Intelligence Committee was forced to clarify Chairman Adam Schiff’s remarks on Sep. 17 that “[w]e have not spoken directly with the whistleblower” in light of evidence the committee had done so.

The New York Times reported Wednesday afternoon that Schiff “learned about the outlines of a C.I.A. officer’s concerns that President Trump had abused his power days before the officer filed a whistle-blower complaint.”

That complaint was sent to Schiff and Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr (R-NC) on August 12.

As Breitbart News and others noted earlier on Wednesday, Schiff had claimed on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Sep. 17 that “we” had never spoken directly to the so-called “whistleblower.” But the “complaint” sent by the so-called “whistleblower” was dated more than a month before Schiff’s MSNBC appearance — and the Times report claimed that “[t]he C.I.A. officer approached a House Intelligence Committee aide” days before sending the letter.

President Trump: Schiff Should Be Investigated for Treason (VIDEO)

Speaking during a meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö in the Oval Office Wednesday afternoon, President Trump called for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to not only “resign in disgrace,” but argued he should be investigated for treason.

“He made up my conversation. He actually made it up. It should be criminal. It should be treasonous. He made it up, every word of it, and read to Congress as if I said it. And I’ll tell you what, he should be forced to resign from Congress. Adam Schiff, he’s a low life. He should be forced to resign,” Trump said. “He took that conversation, which was perfect, he said, ‘I can’t read this,’ so he made up a conversation and he reported it and said it to Congress and the American people.”

“It was horrible what he said,” he continued. “It was all fabricated. He should resign from office in disgrace and frankly they should look at him for treason because he is making up the words of the President of the United States. Not only words, but the meaning.”

WATCH: Trump Shreds Adam Schiff Over Made up Whistleblower Narrative

President Donald Trump on Monday took aim at House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) for making up his own version of Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a hearing with Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire. The candid comments came in response to a reporter’s question about the whistleblower’s identity, The Daily Caller reported.

“President Trump, do you know the identity of the whistleblower?” NBC’s Hallie Jackson asked.

“We’re trying to find out about the whistleblower that reports things that are incorrect. As you know, and you probably figured it out, the statement I made to the president of Ukraine – a good man, a nice man, new – was perfect. But the whistleblower reported a totally different statement, like a statement that was not even made,” Trump replied.

“When the whistleblower reported it he made it sound terrible. And then you had Adam Schiff, who, even worse, made up my words, which I think is horrible. I’ve never even seen a thing like that,” the president explained. “Adam Schiff – representative, Congressman – made up what I said. He actually took words and made it up. The reason is when he saw my call to the president of Ukraine it was so good he couldn’t quote from it because there was nothing done wrong. It was perfect.”

“So Adam Schiff decided ‘I can’t let this happen so let me make it up.’… So Adam Schiff made up a phony call,” Trump told reporters. “And he read it to Congress and he read it to the people of the United States. And it’s a disgrace. This whole this is a disgrace.” (Read more from “Watch: Trump Shreds Adam Schiff Over Made up Whistleblower Narrative” HERE)

Here’s Why Adam Schiff Is Threatening to Sue the Trump Administration

By The Daily Caller. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff threatened Thursday to sue the Trump administration over an intelligence official’s whistleblower complaint, which the director of national intelligence has refused to provide to Congress.

“I would imagine if it comes down that we have to go to court to get this, that we will have a very good case to seek a temporary restraining order … or some form of relief because the inspector general has said this can not wait,” Schiff told reporters after members of the committee met privately with Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) Michael Atkinson.

“This is not a situation where we can afford to go through weeks or months of litigation in this court or that court. There’s an urgency here that I think the courts will recognize. I hope that’s not necessary,” Schiff said after the three-hour meeting.

The details of the complaint remain a mystery. Schiff said that Atkinson said he was unable to provide additional information about the complaint. Atkinson also declined to confirm a Washington Post report that the complaint, filed on Aug. 12, involves a phone call that President Donald Trump had with a foreign leader. Whistleblower Complaint, Reportedly on Trump ‘Promise’ to Foreign Leader, Touches off DC Firestorm

By Fox News. A whistleblower complaint that reportedly involved allegations President Trump made a troubling and unspecified “promise” to a foreign leader touched off a new Washington firestorm on Thursday, as the intelligence community’s top watchdog was questioned by Congress on the matter and the president adamantly denied the accusations.

The details surfaced overnight in a Washington Post report, but many specifics remain unclear including the identity of the foreign leader.

Fox News has not confirmed the report, and White House officials have not offered additional comment on the claims.

But Trump railed against the Post’s reporting in a flurry of tweets that alleged his communications with foreign leaders were being blown out of proportion.

“Another Fake News story out there – It never ends! Virtually anytime I speak on the phone to a foreign leader, I understand that there may be many people listening from various U.S. agencies, not to mention those from the other country itself. No problem!” Trump said. “Knowing all of this, is anybody dumb enough to believe that I would say something inappropriate with a foreign leader while on such a potentially ‘heavily populated’ call. I would only do what is right anyway, and only do good for the USA!” (Read more from “Whistleblower Complaint, Reportedly on Trump ‘Promise’ to Foreign Leader, Touches off DC Firestorm” HERE)

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff May Be No More

Rep. Matt Gaetez (R-FL) on Wednesday filed a resolution to remove House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) from the Committee and revoke his security clearance. . .

“I have filed legislation today, sent to the House, that Adam Schiff needs to be removed from the Intelligence Committee, because how are the rest of us supposed to be able to rely on a man, who you just showed, lied to the American people when he said that there was not spying? Or when he lied and said that there was actual evidence of collusion or clear evidence of collusion?” Gaetz began. . .

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to Schiff. After all, he spent the last two years pushing the collusion story. And, even after Attorney General William Barr said no collusion took place between the Trump campaign and Russia, Schiff still continues to push the collusion theory. In fact, he wants even more investigations and testimony because he didn’t like the results.

Intelligence Committee Republicans Demand Adam Schiff’s Immediate Resignation as Chair

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have united to call for Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff’s “immediate resignation” as the chairman of the committee.

In a letter signed by all nine Republican members of the committee, GOP lawmakers cite Schiff’s continuous claims that he had evidence that President Trump conspired with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election.

Rep. Schiff has regularly, without evidence, accused President Trump of colluding with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election. Moreover, he has often claimed that he personally possesses proof of collusion. Yet he has never presented any of this supposed evidence to the public.

In addition to being an apparent collusion truther, Schiff is regularly accused of leaking sensitive information.

President Trump has described the Democrat congressman as “one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington.” He took to Twitter this morning demanding Schiff’s immediate resignation for his work in spreading the false Russian collusion conspiracy theories.

The GOP’s newfound inspiration comes on the heels of special counsel Robert Mueller concluding, according to Attorney General William Barr, that there is zero evidence that the president colluded with Russia.

Prior to the 2018 elections, Schiff promised that the Democrats’ Trump-Russia campaign “won’t stop when we take the majority.” In other words, if Mueller failed to prosecute the president, then Schiff would take up that mantle and tie up President Trump in sham investigations.
