WATCH: AOC Brushes off Concerns over Surging Crime as ‘Hysteria’

US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) sparked outrage Tuesday for dismissing concerns about surging crime as “hysteria.”

The Bronx-Queens congresswoman, a far-left progressive routinely referred to by her initials, AOC, made the remark during a Zoom chat with freshman US Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a fellow proponent of the “Defund the police” movement who represents the Bronx and Westchester.

“We are seeing these headlines about percentage increases,” Ocasio-Cortez said, reducing recent incidents such as a tourist shot in broad daylight in Times Square and kids ducking for cover amid a gang shooting in the Bronx to mere statistics.

“Now I want to say that any amount of harm is unacceptable and too much. But I also want to make sure that this hysteria, you know, that this doesn’t drive a hysteria and that we look at these numbers in context so that we can make responsible decisions about what to allocate in that context.”

TYPICAL: AOC, BLM Silent in Wake of Tragic Shooting That Killed 10-Year-Old Boy

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Black Lives Matter have been silent following the shooting death of a young boy in Queens.

On Saturday, Queens came to a standstill after Justin Wallace, 10, was tragically killed by a gunman who opened fire at his aunt’s home in Far Rockaway around 9:30 p.m., police and the New York Post reported.

One of the gunman’s shots struck Wallace in the chest, mortally wounding the child who passed away from his injuries at an area hospital. Police are reportedly looking into a neighbor dispute over a driveway as a potential motive. . .

Ocasio-Cortez, whose district includes parts of Queens, has been silent since the attack. She has not posted on social media nor did she respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Black Lives Matter has also been silent on Wallace’s death. Black Lives Matter also did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the child’s death. (Read more from “TYPICAL: AOC, BLM Silent in Wake of Tragic Shooting That Killed 10-Year-Old Boy” HERE)

WATCH: AOC Goes off on Kamala Harris for Speech To Illegal Aliens

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is blasting Vice President Kamala Harris for telling illegal immigrants to not come to the United States amid a record surge in illegal border crossings — calling the veep’s comments “disappointing.”

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) offered the rebuke in a series of tweets Monday evening, retweeting a video of the vice president discouraging illegal migration during her trip to Guatemala.

“I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border: Do not come, do not come,” Harris said while speaking to reporters at a press conference alongside Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei.

“The United States will continue to enforce our laws, and secure our border. There are legal methods by which migration can and should occur, but we, as one of our priorities, will discourage illegal migration,” said Harris, who on Tuesday is in Mexico meeting with President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. “And I believe if you come to our border, you will be turned back.”

Study: AOC Among Least Effective Members of Congress

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was reportedly among the least effective members of the previous Congress, a survey from the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking found.

She introduced 21 bills the center defined as “substantive,” but the legislation got no action in committees, no floor votes, and none became law, according to the center, which gleans data from Congress.gov, the New York Post reported Saturday.

“She introduced a lot of bills, but she was not successful at having them receive any sort of action in committee or beyond committee and if they can’t get through committee they cannot pass the House,” said Alan Wiseman, who is a Vanderbilt political scientist and co-director of the center. . .

In regard to the legislative effectiveness of congressional Democrats, Ocasio-Cortez ranked 230th out of 240, the Post article said, adding, “Among the 19 Dem lawmakers from New York state, she ranked dead last.” (Read more from “Study: AOC Among Least Effective Members of Congress” HERE)

WATCH: AOC Says Calling Border Crisis a ‘Surge’ Pushes White Supremacy

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has finally addressed the border crisis — but only to accuse anyone using the term “surge” of pushing a “white supremacist” philosophy. . .

She initially appeared outraged when asked during an Instagram Live ask-me-anything session why she was “not addressing the border crisis and the kids in cages like you used to” — asking after a pause, “Are you for real?”

“It’s not a border crisis. It’s an Imperialism crisis, it’s a climate crisis, it’s a trade crisis. And also it’s a carceral crisis,” she said, without directly addressing the kids-in-cages allegation itself.

“But people don’t want to have that conversation. They want to say, ‘But what about the surge?’” AOC said.

“Well, first of all, just — gut check. Stop. Anyone who’s using the term ‘surge’ around you, consciously, is trying to invoke a militaristic frame,” she insisted. (Read more from “WATCH: AOC Says Calling Border Crisis a ‘Surge’ Pushes White Supremacy” HERE)

WATCH: Dem Congresswoman Has Meltdown During AOC-Organized House Therapy Session

A tearful Rep. Rashida Tlaib could not hold back her emotions during a speech on the House floor on Thursday night during a Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-organized session of lawmakers sharing their thoughts about the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, some of whom told of their own experiences of that day.

“I asked to go last,” Tlaib said, already choking up and unsuccessfully attempting to hold back tears, “because this is so personal.” . . .

“More came later, uglier, more violent. One celebrating in writing the New Zealand massacre and hoping that more would come. Another mentioning my dear son Adam,” she paused, tears coming through, “mentioning him by name. Each one paralyzed me each time.” . . .

Tlaib said that she was not in the Capitol on Jan 6. during the breach. “All I could do is thank Allah that I wasn’t here.”

“The trauma from just being here, existing as a Muslim, it is so hard,” she said, adding that she worries about her staff. “I ask my colleagues to please try not to dehumanize what’s happening. This is real.” (Read more from “WATCH: Dem Congresswoman Has Meltdown During AOC-Organized House Therapy Session” HERE)

AOC Is Claiming Senator Cruz Tried to Have Her Killed

Maybe this is part of Democrat Joe Biden’s agenda for national “unity” after his victory in a November election that tens of millions of Americans still believe was not legitimate.

Or maybe not.

But there’s a furor growing over a claim by “Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., that a Republican senator tried to have her killed. . .

Ocasio-Cortez had stated on Twitter: “I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out. Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying o get me killed.” (Read more from “AOC Is Claiming Senator Cruz Tried to Have Her Killed” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar Join Event Organized By Blogger Who Said ‘America Deserved 9/11’

On Tuesday night, hard-left Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) joined a group of gamers in a live-streamed event that was organized by Hasan Piker, a vlogger who infamously said in 2019 that “America deserved 9/11.”

In August 2019, Piker, a Young Turks commentator, reviewing a clip of Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) talking to podcast host Joe Rogan, mocked Crenshaw on a Twitch live stream, ranting, “This guy has the understanding of foreign policy of, like, a 12-year-old. What the f***? What the f*** is wrong with this dude? Didn’t he go to war and like literally lose his eye because some mujahideen — a brave f***ing soldier — f***ed his eye hole with their d**?” He added, “Isn’t that how he f***ing lost his dumba** eye, because he got his f***ing eye hole f***ed by a brave soldier?”

Piker added later, “America deserved 9/11, dude. F*** it, I’m saying it.”

After he was slammed for his remarks, Piker tweeted, “Americas foreign policy decisions has lead (sic) to 911. this would’ve been a controversial thing to say in 2001. stop being a f***ing idiot. We supplied arms to and trained bin laden. we destabilized the region long before 911. and now we’re stuck in perpetual war, which dan crenshaw was trying to justify in that clip. it’s exactly this kind of attitude that has sent thousands of young men and women overseas to die.”

AOC Complains Illegals Won’t Get Rebate Check

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is blasting Republicans for refusing to send rebate checks to taxpayers without a Social Security number, including illegal aliens.

She was referring to the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill that is now on its way to President Trump for his signature, DailyMail.com reported.

“To clarify, $1200 checks are ONLY going to some w/social sec numbers, NOT immigrants w/ tax IDs (ITINs),” Ocasio-Cortez wrote Thursday on Twitter.

“Thanks to GOP, these checks will be cut off the backs of *taxpaying immigrants,* who get nothing. Many are essential workers who pay more taxes than Amazon,” she said.

ITINs are issued to taxpayers who are ineligible for a Social Security number, which in many cases is because they are in the country illegally. (Read more from “AOC Complains Illegals Won’t Get Rebate Check” HERE)

Sanders Campaign Worries AOC’s Rhetoric Going Too Far

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is arguably the greatest weapon in the Bernie Sanders campaign arsenal, according to a report in Vanity Fair. So, while Senator Sanders was stuck in D.C. for the impeachment trial, AOC hit the campaign trail in Iowa on behalf of the senator. After a three-day stint stumping for Bernie, Faiz Shakir, Sanders’ campaign manager, reportedly sent a text to AOC’s campaign manager to express his unhappiness with some of the congresswoman’s remarks.

(Via Vanity Fair)

Specifically, the Sanders campaign was miffed that Ocasio-Cortez didn’t mention Sanders by name when she closed out a campaign event at the University of Iowa on a Friday night at the end of last month—a fact that Fox News picked up on. …

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments about the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Patrol were also seen by some within the Sanders campaign as going too far, straying from Sanders’s stance on the issues in encouraging people not to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, according to this source. During an event in Ames, Iowa, Ocasio-Cortez told the crowd, “Organizing is about tipping people off if you start to see that ICE and CBP are in communities to try and keep people safe.” She continued, “I’m not here to reform some of these systems when we talk about immigration. I’m here because Senator Sanders has actually committed to breaking up ICE and CBP. That’s why I’m here.” (Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign declined to comment.)

Abolishing ICE is a major platform plank for AOC and a number of other progressive figures—including Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who have also endorsed Sanders. In the past, Sanders has been for stricter immigration laws than those supported by some of his progressive colleagues, though he’s tacked left more recently.
