State Cop Banished To Canadian Border Amid Relationship With Cuomo’s Daughter

A state trooper assigned to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s security detail got hot and heavy with one of New York’s first daughters — and was soon transferred to a post near the Canadian border, The Post has learned.

Trooper Dane Pfeiffer, 35, met Cara Kennedy-Cuomo, 25, through his job as one of her dad’s bodyguards, sources said.

They began dating about seven months ago — after she moved into the Executive Mansion in Albany due to the coronavirus pandemic — and Cuomo learned about the relationship a short time later, sources said.

Pfeiffer’s relationship with Kennedy-Cuomo mandated his removal from her dad’s protective detail due to “the protocol of dignitary protection,” according to a law enforcement source familiar with the matter. . .

“He was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor didn’t like whatever they were doing,” a source familiar with the situation said. (Read more from “State Cop Banished To Canadian Border Amid Relationship With Cuomo’s Daughter” HERE)

Andrew Cuomo Says He Won’t Accept the FDA’s Approval of a Coronavirus Vaccine

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), who takes zero responsibility for packing nursing homes with coronavirus-infected patients, says he doesn’t trust the federal government when it comes to a vaccine for the Wuhan coronavirus.

“Frankly, I’m not going to trust the federal government’s opinion, and I wouldn’t recommend to New Yorkers, based on the federal government’s opinion,” Cuomo told reporters on Thursday about the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) potential approval of a coronavirus vaccine.

“New York State will have its own review when the federal government is finished with their review and says it’s safe,” vowed the governor.

Of course, New York officials don’t play any role when it comes to approving vaccines for any kind of drug or treatment, as The New York Times points out.

The Trump administration has been working with drugmakers to fast-track the development and approval of a vaccine for the coronavirus. The administration has given $200 million to all 50 states in an effort to distribute a lifesaving vaccine as soon as one receives emergency-use authorization from the FDA. NY Gov. Cuomo — Who Fumbled the Coronavirus Pandemic — to Publish a Book About Handling the Coronavirus Pandemic

Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who by all accounts bungled his response to the coronavirus pandemic in his state, plans to publish a book about his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. . .

The new book, titled “American Crisis,” will highlight the governor’s leadership in responding to the outbreak even as more than 33,000 people have died in the New York as a result of the virus — more than twice the number of deaths in any other state. Not to mention the fact that Cuomo will be cashing in on the project even as the pandemic rages on.

The announcement came just one day after Cuomo called the coronavirus response “beautiful” and the disease a “metaphor” during his speech at the Democratic National Convention Monday night.

The book will be released Oct. 13, just three weeks before the general election.

In a news release by Crown Publishing, “American Crisis” is billed as “a powerful testament to true leadership” and a “remarkable portrait of leadership during crisis and a gritty story of gut-wrenching choices that point the way to a safer future for us all,” the New York Post reported.

Andrew Cuomo Blames New York Post and Wall Street Journal for Spikes in COVID-19

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo blamed a pair of media outlets for the surge of coronavirus cases in states such as Arizona and Florida.

“Florida listened to the New York Post,” Cuomo said in a call with reporters on Sunday. “Texas listened to the Wall Street Journal. Arizona listened to the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. That was wrong. That was wrong.”

There have been spikes in COVID-19 cases in states across the country this past month. More than 4 million U.S. residents have been infected, and 150,000 deaths have been attributed to the virus. The uptick in infections have prompted local and state officials to halt reopenings and even rescind some measures in order to keep public health at bay. . .

“The Wall Street Journal, New York Post — they continue to beat a horse that is dead: ‘We should reopen the economy faster in New York,’ ‘The infection rate is low; reopen faster,’” Cuomo said. “The infection rate is low because we have done an intelligent, phased reopening. What they are advocating has been demonstrated to be wrong and to be a failure.” (Read more from “Andrew Cuomo Blames New York Post and Wall Street Journal for Spikes in COVID-19” HERE)

Investigation Reveals How NYC Made the Coronavirus Pandemic Worse

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was celebrated in the early weeks for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. His approval ratings shot up and his conflicts with President Trump had some on the left toying with the idea of drafting Cuomo to replace Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket in November. And then the New York City area became a coronavirus hotspot, not just in the United States, but the hotspot of the world, and the combined failures of Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio were suddenly too difficult to deny.

A Wall Street Journal investigation published Thursday details how their response “was marred by missed warning signs and policies that many health-care workers say put residents at greater risk and led to unnecessary deaths.”

In the first few days of March, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio assured New Yorkers things were under control. On March 2, Mr. de Blasio tweeted that people should go see a movie.

Only after the disease had gripped the city’s low-income neighborhoods in early March did Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio mobilize public and private hospitals to create more beds and intensive-care units. The hasty expansion that ensued, led by New York government leaders and hospital administrators, produced mistakes that helped worsen the crisis, health-care workers say.

Cuomo to Trump: ‘Here in New York We Actually Read the Bible’ (VIDEO)

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) responded to President Trump’s display of the Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday saying, “Here in New York we actually read the Bible.”

“The president held up the Bible the other day in Washington, D.C.,” Cuomo said during a Wednesday news conference. “Here in New York we actually read the Bible.”

The governor began the press conference by reading verses from the Bible that he said “are especially appropriate for today in this time of where we are,” as protests over the death of George Floyd continue to rock New York City and the country. . .

The New York governor’s comments come after Trump posed for photos in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church while holding a Bible. Shortly before the president walked to the church, protesters were forcibly cleared from Lafayette Square outside of the White House with the use of chemical irritants.

Several Democrats and some Republicans criticized the removal of the protesters for the photo opportunity including Cuomo, who said the Trump wants to make the demonstrations “a reality TV show of God and country.” (Read more from “Cuomo to Trump: ‘Here in New York We Actually Read the Bible'” HERE)

WATCH: Cuomo Blasts NYC Mayor for Refusing National Guard’s Help

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) revealed Tuesday that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) refused assistance from the state’s National Guard to thwart widespread looting as protests and riots rage over the death of George Floyd.

In his daily press briefing, Cuomo issued stinging criticism of De Blasio and the New York Police Department, saying Monday evening’s failed attempt to quell violence unrest was “inexcusable.” . . .

The governor explained that he offered cities around the state, including the Big Apple, help from the National Guard to stop looting, but De Blasio rejected the offer.

“My option is to displace the mayor of New York City and bring in the National Guard as the governor in an emergency and basically you would have to take over the mayor’s job,” Cuomo then explained. “I don’t think we’re at the point,” he said, before adding the move would yield a “chaotic situation” that “wouldn’t make any sense.” (Read more from “WATCH: Cuomo Blasts NYC Mayor for Refusing National Guard’s Help” HERE)

Cuomo: ‘Ask President Trump’ About Nursing Home Deaths

By New York Post. First Gov. Andrew Cuomo blamed nursing homes for a widely criticized directive from his Health Department barring the facilities from turning away coronavirus-positive people — now he’s pawning it off on the White House.

Critics should “ask President Trump” about it, the governor said Wednesday, arguing that the federal government actually cooked up the mandate — and that New York was just following Washington’s lead.

“Anyone who wants to ask, ‘Why did the state do that with COVID patients in nursing homes,’ it’s because the state followed President Trump’s CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] guidance,” Cuomo told reporters in Albany who pressed him on whether he had any regrets about the directive, which may have played a role in the deaths of thousands of nursing home residents.

“They should ask President Trump. I think that will stop the conversation,” he repeated.

Despite frequently jousting with the president throughout the pandemic, however, Cuomo betrayed no regrets on adopting that March 25 directive, even with well over 5,000 confirmed or suspected coronavirus deaths now reported in nursing homes. New York’s Coronavirus Data Sheds New Light on the Most Severe Cases: 40% Died Within 15 Days of Going to the Hospital, and 67% Were Men

By Business Insider. New York City has reported about 13% of the US’s 1.5 million coronavirus cases.

More than 200,000 people in the city have been infected (though that’s only those who have been tested), and at least 16,000 have died — that’s more than 17% of all confirmed US deaths from COVID-19.

In a new study, published Tuesday in The Lancet, researchers examined what happened to the sickest New Yorkers after they were admitted to the hospital with COVID-19.

They found that, of a cohort of 257 critically ill New York City residents treated at two Manhattan hospitals, 39% died. On average, that happened nine days after they were admitted. Another 37% of patients with severe cases were still in the hospital after four weeks of treatment. Media Doesn’t Care That People Died Because Cuomo Put Coronavirus Patients in Nursing Homes

. . .That should have changed once it was clear that one of the hottest of the pandemic’s hotspots — New York’s nursing homes — were compelled by a state regulation to take in recovering coronavirus victims, many of whom were likely still contagious.

The implication of this rule — which was apparently strictly enforced and similar to the order issued by California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration — was that facilities filled with exactly the most vulnerable population had no choice but to admit carriers of the contagion. The results of this blunder were as brutal as they were predictable. As of last week, New York’s Health Department estimated the number of nursing home patients who had died of COVID-19 to be 3,500, a total representing more than 20 percent of all the state’s fatalities.

As reports of the suffering going on in nursing homes made clear, what happened was not a function of demography or chance. The March 25 order handed down by Cuomo’s Health Department mandating that nursing homes could not reject those recovering from the illness set in motion the events that inflated the state’s COVID-19 death tolls.

Far from realizing the mistake and seeking to correct it, Cuomo was still doubling down on the order at an April 26 press conference, at which he said again that nursing homes had no right to challenge the state order and reject patients who were likely to spread the illness. . .

Yet as the New York Post reported a day later, one coronavirus hotspot, the Cobble Hill Health Center in Brooklyn, where 55 people have died from COVID-19, had tried repeatedly to inform state Health Department officials of its lack of equipment and staff to handle the problem and received no help. Requests to transfer patients to the makeshift wards at New York’s mammoth Javits Center, a convention center that has been turned into a hospital, or the USS Comfort, the navy hospital ship that was anchored in New York Harbor before leaving due to lack of use, were turned down. Did New York Governor Cuomo Pierce His Nipples?

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s ex-girlfriend Sandra Lee weighed in on the debate over whether Cuomo has pierced nipples, Wednesday, telling gossipers to stop “body-shaming.”

After pictures of Cuomo in a tight shirt surfaced on Tuesday following a press conference, leading to speculation that the governor has pierced nipples, Lee responded to the gossip in an Instagram story.

“I woke up this morning to a lot of stuff going on online. A lot of stories being written and a lot of nonsense being said, and I just want to say body-shaming is not okay,” she commented. “It’s never going to be okay.”
