The Biden Administration’s Attacks and Misleading Excuses in East Palestine Can’t Survive Scrutiny

. . .’Blame the GOP’ is what they finally landed on, nearly three weeks after the accident. Naturally. It’s fair to point out that train derailments are more common than one might think in America, and it’s also fair to question if some Republican critiques of the Biden administration’s delayed and weak response to this incident may be somewhat hypocritical and political in nature (though the nature of this derailment distinguishes it from a ‘typical’ event in this category). Pointing the finger at the opposition party is feeble stuff, especially since it took them so long to cobble together their blame-storming talking points. But it also looks like it’s factually wrong:

The decision they’re trying to pin on Trump arises from a process that started under Obama. The Department of Transportation looked into the rule in question and determined that the benefits didn’t outweigh the costs, so the recommendation to follow through on the change (no longer mandating a certain type of brake on certain trains) was accepted and implemented during the Trump years. Crucially, under the regulations, the shift would not have applied to the train that derailed in Ohio, so “there’s no possible way to blame the rescinding of that rule” for what happened. But that didn’t stop the White House from doing so anyway. For his part, Buttigieg is also engaged in a political battle over all of this, since that’s been the top priority all along. He’s been sparring with Sen. Marco Rubio, and appears to be relying on distortions and misleading claims to make it seem as though he’s been a great champion for rail safety — only to be thwarted by the evil Big Train lobby and their Republican enablers:

“The facts don’t lie,” Buttigieg asserts, to his usual chorus of clapping-seal applause from online liberals. But political actors do lie. Note the sleight of hand allegedly at play here:

Biden Deploys HHS to Ohio ‘to Conduct Public Health Testing’

The Biden administration announced Friday that the Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will deploy a team of medical personnel and toxicologists to East Palestine, Ohio, “to conduct public health testing and assessments” following the Feb. 3 rail derailment.

In addition to HHS, the response effort will loop in the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation, and Federal Emergency Management Agency.

All 17 members of Ohio’s congressional delegation wrote a letter to FEMA Thursday demanding answers to why the agency denied an aid request from Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH).

“It is our understanding that Governor DeWine’s Administration has been in communication with your agency about the need for federal support to assist with the cleanup of the Norfolk Southern train derailment and subsequent chemical fire that occurred in East Palestine, Ohio on February 3,” the letter reads.

These Are the Two Explanations the Biden Team Offered Regarding the Three Downed Ufos

. . .When the White House press pool is all wondering the same thing, like how could this spy balloon penetrate US airspace, and you don’t have a good answer, you know you’re in trouble.

The latest explanations are that these UFOs were being used for commercial or benign purposes (via NBC News):

The White House said Tuesday that the U.S. intelligence community’s leading explanation for the three most recent unidentified objects shot down over North America is that they were being used for commercial or benign purposes.

That was the message National Security Council spokesman John Kirby conveyed to reporters Tuesday and said the evaluation is based on what the U.S. knows now, from visual images of the objects.

By the end of the week, the interagency team that President Joe Biden ordered his national security team to coordinate on Monday will lay out parameters regarding how the U.S. will address these objects going forward, Kirby said.

Biden Administration Issues New Security Warning About Russia

As questions grow about U.S. national security here at home, the Biden administration is warning Americans of deteriorating conditions in Russia with a new travel advisory issued Sunday in which the State Department did not mince words about the dangers facing U.S. citizens at the hand of Putin’s government.

Citing “unpredictable consequences of the unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, and the possibility of terrorism,” the U.S. Mission Russia warned Americans to cancel any plans to travel to the country.

What’s more, the State Department warning says that U.S. citizens already residing or traveling in Russia “should depart immediately” and “exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful intentions.” If Americans encounter any issues in Russia, the Biden administration warns it’s unlikely to be able to do anything, especially for Americans who aren’t near the main U.S. outpost in Moscow:

The U.S. government’s ability to provide routine or emergency services to U.S. citizens in Russia is severely limited, particularly in areas far from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, due to Russian government limitations on travel for embassy personnel and staffing, and the ongoing suspension of operations, including consular services, at U.S. consulates.

Another Chinese Spy Balloon Discovered; China Claims Balloon Is Researching Weather; ‘Shoot Down the Balloon!’: Trump Calls for Chinese Spy Balloon to Be Destroyed

By Patrick Reilly. Another Chinese spy balloon is currently making its way over Latin America, Pentagon officials said Friday night.

“We are seeing reports of a balloon transiting Latin America. We now assess it is another Chinese surveillance balloon,” Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a statement. . .

The report of a second balloon comes after Pentagon officials announced Thursday that a high-altitude balloon had been spotted flying over sensitive sites in the western US to collect information. . .

“While we won’t get into specifics in regards to the exact location, I can tell you that the balloon continues to move eastward and is currently over the center of the continental United States,” Ryder said Friday, adding that the balloon will likely be over US airspace for “a few days.”

Ryder described the balloon as “maneuverable,” noting that it “has changed its course, which is again why we’re monitoring it.” He said military officials will continue to assess their “options,” without ruling out shooting it down eventually. (Read more about the Chinese spy balloon HERE)

Chinese Spy Balloon Researching Weather Says Foreign Ministry

By Breitbart. The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday initially denied any knowledge of the huge surveillance balloon floating through American airspace, then claimed it was a weather research “airship.”

The Pentagon responded to baffled questions about why the incredibly well-funded U.S. military was unable to detect, thwart, or destroy the balloon by claiming that attacking it could jeopardize people on the ground in Montana.

“I have noted relevant reports. We are gathering and verifying the facts,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said when asked about the balloon.

‘Shoot Down the Balloon!’: Trump Calls for Chinese Spy Balloon to Be Shot Down

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump is calling for the Chinese spy balloon floating over the United States to be shot down.

“SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON!” Trump posted on Truth Social Friday morning, after the Pentagon confirmed Thursday evening that a Chinese spy balloon had been floating over the U.S. for several days.

Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a statement Thursday:

The United States government has detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon that is over the continental United States right now. The U.S. government, to include NORAD, continues to track and monitor it closely. The balloon is currently traveling at an altitude well above commercial air traffic, and does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground. Instances of this kind of balloon activity have been observed previously over the past several years. Once the balloon was detected, the U.S. government acted immediately to protect against the collection of sensitive information.”

Justice Department Sues Google

The Biden administration’s Justice Department and several state attorneys general filed suit against Google on Tuesday for allegedly monopolizing various digital advertising technologies.

The agency claimed Google monopolizes the tools that website publishers use to sell advertisements and that companies utilize to purchase advertisements. The civil antitrust suit, which follows another complaint issued by the Trump administration’s Justice Department three years ago related to the company’s alleged monopoly over search advertising, is backed by the attorneys general of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Virginia.

“Today’s complaint alleges that Google has used anticompetitive, exclusionary, and unlawful conduct to eliminate or severely diminish any threat to its dominance over digital advertising technologies,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a press release. “The Justice Department will vigorously enforce our antitrust laws to protect consumers, safeguard competition, and ensure economic fairness and opportunity for all.”

Shares for Alphabet fell nearly 2% on Tuesday; the company’s stock price has declined 25% over the past year, exceeding 9% decreases in the S&P 500 and 18% decreases in the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite.

The Justice Department claimed that Google has engaged in a “pattern of acquisitions to obtain control over key digital advertising tools” and has manipulated advertising auctions to “deprive rivals of scale.” Such moves may violate the Sherman Act, which outlaws “monopolization, attempted monopolization, or conspiracy or combination to monopolize” deemed unreasonable by the court system. Biden Administration Slammed With New Lawsuit by 20 Different States

A coalition of 20 states and a top conservative legal group is suing the Biden administration over its recently-expanded humanitarian parole program that allows tens of thousands of migrants from designated countries a month into the U.S. — arguing that the program is unlawful.

The lawsuit, filed by Texas and America First Legal in the Southern District of Texas, is joined by 19 additional states who are seeking to block the Biden administration’s parole program which allow up to 30,000 migrants from Haiti, Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela into the U.S. each month.

The Biden administration announced the program for Venezuelans in October, which allowed a limited number to fly directly into the U.S. as long as they had not entered illegally, had a sponsor in the U.S. already and passed certain checks.

Earlier this month, President Biden announced that the program would be expanding to include Haitians, Nicaraguans and Cubans, and that the program would allow up to 30,000 a month into the U.S. It was announced alongside an expansion of Title 42 expulsions to include those nationalities. Celebration of a New Year Brings With It Yet Another Reminder From Bidens To Get Vaccinated

The Biden administration is just obsessed with badgering folks to get vaccinated against COVID-19, which now includes getting multiple boosters, and getting a booster when every year like the flu shot. Thus, any time a celebration or major event comes up, we can count on the administration, or President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden themselves to remind us they expect us to fall in line and get up to date.

As Breaking 911 highlighted on Sunday, part of the Biden’s message to Americans aired on ABC News had to do with the vaccine. In the name of telling people to “especially take care of your health this year,” the first lady implored people to “go get that COVID vaccine and get your flu shot.” The president, very much appearing as old as he is, chimed in to share something indecipherable.

Ryan Seacrest, the host of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” which airs on ABC, politely thanked the two for their message, but kept it telling them “thank you very much for being with us, Happy New Year.”

The Military Vaccine Mandate Has Been Overturned, but Unvaccinated Troops Still Risk Reprisal

While the Biden administration has officially reversed the military COVID-19 vaccination mandate, servicemembers who escaped discharge for refusing the vaccine still risk retaliation and could be booted anyway, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Ongoing class action lawsuits thwarted the military’s efforts to discharge thousands of troops who objected to the mandate before the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law Friday, overturned it. However, servicemembers may risk reprisal even after the deadline passes for the Department of Defense (DOD) to implement the repeal, staining the records of thousands of servicemembers for the remainder of their careers, experts explained to the DCNF.

“There’s nothing to repair what’s already happened. There’s nothing to address the improper handling of medical exemptions, the violations for Religious Freedom Restoration Act and what the future looks like, whether it’s for religious reasons or other reasons,” R. Davis Younts, a military defense attorney, told the DCNF.

Potentially thousands of unvaccinated servicemembers — those denied medical or religious exemptions or wanted to challenge the order — were issued formal letters of reprimand, Younts said, including seven of his own clients. A permanently filed reprimand can suppress opportunities for members of the armed forces to reenlist or be promoted, and may constitute a basis for discharge. Biden Admin Used Taxpayer Funds to ‘Sponsor’ Foreign Journalists Attending Climate Change ‘Reporting Tour,’ Emails Reveal

Last year, the Biden administration used taxpayer dollars to “sponsor” multiple foreign journalists to attend a virtual “tour” intended to educate them on climate change reporting, Fox News Digital reported.

According to internal emails obtained by Protect the Public’s Trust, a government watchdog project, officials from Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry’s office and the Office of Global Change exchanged emails in March 2021 discussing a proposal to sponsor international journalists.

The Foreign Press Centers, an agency within the Bureau of Global Public Affairs, was lined up to sponsor the reporting tour — “Combating the Climate Crisis Through U.S. Innovation.” The FPC’s mission is to further “global understanding of U.S. policy, society, culture, and values through engagement with foreign media.” In addition, the department provides foreign news outlets with “authoritative American information sources.”
