Biden Spending $352 A Night In Hotels For 80,000 Illegal Aliens

The White House is spending close to $352 a night to provide beds to the estimated 80,000 migrant families expected to flood the border from now until September, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement document obtained by the Washington Examiner.

The contract rents out hotels in Texas and Arizona for six and a half months — 199 days. In these hotels, 1,239 beds will be occupied by those participating in the border surge, which the government dubs “emergency family reception sites.” After three days of sleeping in the hotel, migrant families who entered the country illegally will then be freed into the United States with a court date to be determined.

The initiative is part of an approximately $87 million contract ICE awarded to Family Endeavors, a San Antonio, Texas non-profit that has a former senior official on the Biden transition team, Andrew Lorenzen-Strait. No bids were solicited for the contract.

“In terms of solving the problem, it’s like roasting marshmallows at the scene of the fire,” James Carafano, a national security scholar at The Heritage Foundation told The Federalist. “All that money will do nothing to bring the border under control. You’re burning through an enormous amount of cash, which facilitates more illegal immigration …The potential risk of COVID adds to costs. The cartels are profiting off this to buy fentanyl.”

Biden Lags Behind Trump Admin In Number Of Refugees Admitted To U.S.

Leftist organizations are increasingly upset that President Joe Biden is not welcoming enough refugees into the United States.

An analysis by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an organization diametrically opposed to former President Donald Trump and his immigration policies, is reprimanding Biden for refusing to change the previous administration’s policies and admit more refugees from around the world.

As the Washington Post notes, Biden delayed signing a presidential determination that would ensure his promised hike of Trump’s 15,000 admitted refugees to the new 125,000 admitted refugees allowed in the U.S. per fiscal year. Instead, more than halfway through the current fiscal year, Biden has officially admitted just 2,050 refugees.

Biden Admin Offering Four Months Paid Leave to Federal Employees Who Take In Illegal Alien Children

The Biden administration has offered thousands of federal employees four months of paid leave if they’ll volunteer to take in migrant children who have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.

The administration emailed the federal workers asking for help with Unaccompanied Alien Children, or UACs, according to The New York Times.

“The desperate plea landed this week in the email inboxes of employees in government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and NASA: Will you consider taking a four-month paid leave from your job to help care for migrant children in government-run shelters packed with new arrivals at the border?” The Times reported.

“The request to much of the federal work force came from the Department of Health and Human Services, which is at the heart of a frantic effort by the Biden administration to keep up with a surge in young people crossing the southwestern border hoping to reunite with relatives already in the United States,” the paper wrote. Biden’s Border Crisis Is The Largest Influx Of Illegal Aliens In Over 20 Years

U.S. Customs and Border Protection took more than 172,000 illegal aliens into custody in March, making it the busiest month for the agency in more than 20 years.

While nearly 53,000 of these migrants were members of family units, a record-breaking 18,890 were unaccompanied teens and children, many of whom were packed into overcrowded shelters plagued by COVID-19 spread and “dangerous” conditions for longer than the 72-hour limit permitted by federal law. Despite the Biden administration’s claims that many of those crossing the southern border are coming to the United States to seek shelter and help over gang violence and hurricane-stricken countries, the largest number of border crossings during the last month were committed by more than 99,000 single adults, many of whom are not asylum-seekers.

While the Biden administration has repeatedly denied that there’s a border crisis and blamed the abrupt migration influx on normal seasonal surges, the high numbers of illegal border crossings since the president assumed office has grown exponentially. Increases even between February and March data forced the CBP to stretch its chart to accommodate the largest numbers it has seen in at least two decades. Biden Blocks Media From Documenting Border Crisis

A prominent photojournalist rebuked the Biden administration last week for allegedly blocking media from observing operations of immigration officials handling the migrant crisis at the southern United States border. . .

John Moore, an award-winning photojournalist for Getty Images, blasted Biden administration officials for obstructing media access.

In fact, the lack of transparency is so bad that Moore said he was forced to do his job — document the border crisis through the medium of photography — by working from the Mexican side of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Moore said that officials in the previous three presidential administrations did not block journalists from documenting immigration operations.

“I respectfully ask US Customs and Border Protection to stop blocking media access to their border operations. I have photographed CBP under Bush, Obama and Trump but now — zero access is granted to media,” Moore said. “These long lens images taken from the Mexican side.”

Former Top State Dept Investigator Says COVID-19 Outbreak May Have Resulted From Bioweapons Research Accident

As top U.S. officials prepare to meet their Chinese counterparts for their first face-to-face meeting during the Biden administration, the State Department’s former lead investigator who oversaw the Task Force into the COVID-19 virus origin tells Fox News that he not only believes the virus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but that it may have been the result of research that the Chinese military, or People’s Liberation Army, was doing on a bioweapon.

“The Wuhan Institute of Virology is not the National Institute of Health,” David Asher, now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute told Fox News in an exclusive interview. “It was operating a secret, classified program. In my view, and I’m just one person, my view is it was a biological weapons program.”

Asher has long been a “follow the money” guy who has worked on some of the most classified intelligence investigations for the State Department and Treasury under both Democratic and Republican administrations. He led the team that uncovered the international nuclear procurement network run by the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program, AQ Khan, and uncovered key parts of North Korea’s secret uranium enrichment. He believes the Chinese Communist Party has been involved in a massive cover-up during the past 14 months.

“And if you believe, as I do, that this might have been a weapons vector gone awry, not deliberately released, but in development and then somehow leaked, this has turned out to be the greatest weapon in history,” Asher said during a panel discussion at the Hudson Institute: The Origins of the COVID-10: Policy Implications and Lessons for the Future. “You’ve taken out 15 to 20 percent of global GDP. You’ve killed millions of people. The Chinese population has been barely affected. White House Set to Impose Sanctions on Russia

The Biden administration will slap sanctions on Russian officials and businesses on Tuesday after the US intelligence community concluded that opposition leader Alexei Navalny had been nearly killed by a nerve-agent poisoning attack carried out by a Russian spy agency.

The sanctions will be imposed under the US Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act for 14 businesses.

Administration officials did not identify the Russian officials who would be targeted by the sanctions – the first against Moscow by President Biden.

Report: Biden Administration to Dismantle ICE Immigration Enforcement

The Biden administration is reportedly considering overhauling Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a way that would terminate the jobs of thousands of officers tasked with arresting and deporting immigrants illegally residing in the United States.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is understood to have recently introduced a plan to do away with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations arm and convert those officers into agents who investigate transnational crime instead of going after illegal immigrants.

The consideration comes after Mayorkas testified before senators in his confirmation hearing last month and said that he did not think ICE should be abolished.

The Biden administration’s proposal, outlined to top officials at the agency, would keep ICE’s name and its investigations side but effectively do away with its ability to enforce immigration laws. ICE would have little, if any, ability to do anything about people who choose to overstay a visa or illegally enter the U.S. at its land borders. Over the past decade, ICE officers have faced mounting challenges taking illegal immigrants into custody in sanctuary jurisdictions across the country that have enacted policies not to allow local police to turn over immigrants to ICE, as was standard practice for decades. Illegals Rushing To the Border With Biden in Office as Admin Opens New Tent City

The Biden administration is facing fresh spikes of over 200 percent in illegal border crossings from this time last year and has opened another tent city to detain illegal immigrants in Texas, US Customs and Border Protection has announced.

The Border Patrol revealed in a report released Wednesday that the number of migrants apprehended at the border in the month of January reached nearly 78,000, up from 36,679 in January 2020.

Single adult Mexican citizens accounted for more than 37,000 CBP encounters, a 119 percent increase from this time last year, according to the agency.

Amid the surge, a new “soft-sided facility” was established this week by the agency in Donna, Texas, to hold individuals originally staying at the Centralized Processing Center in McAllen, Texas.
