By The Federalist. The 9/11 tragedy and two decades of responses to it will never rest easy in the minds of those who lost loved ones, or still suffer scars from the trauma of the deadliest attack on our own soil. This year’s anniversary has most outraged about the reemergence of the Taliban, the irresponsible way this administration exited Afghanistan, but mostly the idea that some Americans and allies are expendable.

We broke our promise, we violated our honor, and we have invited harsher terrorist attacks in the future, with our own hardware. President Biden’s foolish decisions dishonor the memory and heroism of the thousands of people who died in the towers, in the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania, and the many more brave Americans in the military who died in the 20-year War on Terror.

To be fair, the Bush administration also made hasty mistakes amid a desire to spike the ball and declare “Mission Accomplished.” But lessons are supposed to be learned so mistakes are not repeated. For Team Biden, it should never have been about when we would leave Afghanistan, but how.

Unfortunately, Biden has allowed his administration to be overrun with overconfident, ideological warriors, who may read intelligence reports but do not believe or learn from them. Replete with the best degrees, and long pedigrees earned by slavish commitment to all the politically correct causes, there is a ruling class in this administration that always knows best, blames America, and cynically relies on national media to cover up for all the errors and omissions of socialism, globalism, and elitism.

It is all so depressing and alarming and predictable. Our president is barely able to read cue cards, and the vice president has no-clue cards.

This national shame and confusion run contrary to the way Americans responded to 9/11. We came together with a near-universal belief that those who attacked America needed to be brought to justice. Biden Marks 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Criticizing ‘Dark Forces’ in America Against ‘Peaceful Religion’ of Islam

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden marked the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by criticizing Americans for the anti-Muslim anger that occurred in the United States after the attacks took place.

“We also witnessed the dark forces of human nature. Fear and anger. Resentment and violence against Muslim-Americans — true and faithful followers of a peaceful religion,” Biden said in a prerecorded video published for the occasion.

The president said that the principle of “unity” in the country was endangered by the attacks but ultimately prevailed. . .

By Breitbart. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to blame communism for the current unrest in Cuba on Wednesday, when asked by Peter Doocy of Fox News whether communism was the reason that people might want to flee Cuba for the U.S.

The context of Doocy’s question was a previous query about a statement Tuesday by Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas that Cubans and Haitians should not come to the U.S. by sea — though the administration is making illegal entry easier through the southern land border with Mexico. . .

Doocy: Sure, yeah. Do you think people are leaving Cuba because they don’t like communism ?

Psaki: I think we’ve been pretty clear that we think people are leaving Cuba, or not — leaving Cuba, or protesting in the streets, as well, because they are opposed to the oppression, to the mismanagement of the government in the country. And we certainly support their right to protest, we support their efforts to speak out against their treatment in Cuba. I will say, separately, an important question is also what happens when people are seeking protection, or what happens when they are attempting to flee. In the past, as I noted, we’ve had several humanitarian programs … But certainly, we have said many times, and I will reiterate here, that we support not just the role of the protest, and peaceful protests, we stand with the Cuban people in their call for freedom from both the pandemic and from decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime.

Biden Administration Claims Cuban Anti-Communist Protests Are About ‘Rising COVID Cases/Deaths’

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden’s administration responded to protests in Cuba against the Communist regime on Sunday by issuing a statement through a minor official commending protests “about rising COVID cases/deaths & medicine shortages.” . . .

Julie Chung, Acting Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, said via Twitter that Cubans were exercising “their right to peaceful assembly” to protest COVID and “medicine shortages.” . . .

The Biden administration’s attempt to spin the protests as a demonstration about COVID-19 mirrors the rhetoric of the 2020 presidential election, during which Democrats charged that the Trump administration had failed on the pandemic. Biden Inaction Triggers Growing Calls for U.S. Military Action on Cuba

By Breitbart. A series of tepid and inaccurate statements from President Joe Biden and his administration are meeting growing calls this week for the American government to act to prevent the further loss of life in Cuba. . .

The Cuban Communist Party responded by issuing an “order of combat” commanding all communist loyalists to take the streets and violently assault peaceful protesters. It also shut down the internet for much of this week, making international reporting on the matter extremely difficult. The little information Cubans have managed to get out of the island indicates that protests have continued daily since Sunday despite widespread reports of police gang beatings, assassinations, and deadly door-to-door raids. . .

Protesters around the country have escalated their calls for military intervention against the Castro regime to defend the lives of unarmed, peaceful Cuban protesters. In front of the White House, protesters on Monday called for “urgent military intervention” in remarks to Univisión. In Miami, a group of protesters demanding military intervention blocked the Palmetto Expressway, the main highway in the city, on Tuesday.

Biden Is Keeping Migrant Kids In Horrible Conditions. Where Is The Outcry?

. . .When President Biden came under fire in March for the humanitarian crisis unfolding at the border, his administration scrambled to transfer the record number of migrant children being held in crude, jail-like facilities run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, more than 5,700 at one point, into the care of the Department of Health and Human Services. According to federal law, minors aren’t supposed to be held by Border Patrol for more than 72 hours. Many were being held for weeks. . .

But instead of thousands of migrant children packed into tent-like facilities along the border, the Biden administration has dispersed them to tent-like — and wholly inadequate — emergency facilities all across the country, hidden from reporters and cameras thanks to Biden’s media blackout.

Until now. A handful of lawyers authorized to visit these facilities and interview the kids there are speaking to the media about what they’ve seen. . .

One of the lawyers who has been visiting these emergency shelters, Leecia Welch, told the Times that conditions at Fort Bliss are “much worse in every respect” than Tornillo. The tents reek of body odor, the bedding is not washed regularly, the children do not have clean clothes and “generally describe not feeling cared for and a sense of desperation.”

Welch also visited an emergency shelter set up in a warehouse in Houston that abruptly closed in mid-April because of subpar living conditions. Welch interviewed 16 girls who stayed there, and she told CBS News that they reported being constantly hungry and thirsty, being served undercooked chicken and expired food, and having limited access to showers and laundry. Some said they had only showered twice in 15 days. There were no educational activities, no access to the outdoors, and nothing to do during the day. Numbers Undercut Biden Administration Claims on Ghost Guns

The Biden administration is cracking down on so-called ghost guns to solve America’s epidemic of gun violence but crime stats from major cities and the Justice Department suggest the do-it-yourself weapons are a small part of the problem. . .

Democrats praised the idea and pointed to cities that report spikes in the use of ghost guns, though DIY firearms remain a small percentage of all firearms seized by police.

In Chicago, for example, only 139 out of the 11,258 firearms seized last year — roughly 1.2% — were ghost guns. That number, however, represents a 93% increase from the 72 ghost guns seized in 2019.

Philadelphia police in 2019 seized 95 ghost guns, accounting for 2.2% of the 4,264 guns they confiscated. In 2018, Philadelphia police confiscated 13 ghost guns. . .

Is This Kamala Harris Giveaway to Illegals Government Corruption?

Recently, the Biden administration decided to waive the fines lobbed at noncitizens who have refused to leave. Yet, there seems to be another eye-opening move at the border. Vice President Kamala Harris might not be there, but her children’s book is there (via NY Post):

Vice President Kamala Harris hasn’t been to the border to address a crisis she was tasked to help fix — but a children’s book she wrote is waiting there for young migrants who are being welcomed into the country.

Unaccompanied migrant kids brought from the U.S.-Mexico border to a new shelter in Long Beach, Calif., will be given a copy of her 2019 children’s book, “Superheroes are Everywhere,” in their welcome kits.

It’s just the latest open-arms gesture by the Biden administration, whose mixed messaging regarding the border and immigration has been credited with the surge from Central America to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Border czar Roberta Jacobson last month conceded that the Biden administration’s messaging to migrants has been inconsistent, contributing to the unprecedented surge.

DHS Whistleblower: Border Guards Are ‘Burned Out’ From Biden Policies (VIDEO)

A Homeland Security whistleblower is offering a glimpse into how officers facing the brunt of the illegal immigration crisis are faring — saying Biden policies “were implemented irresponsibly” by people who are removed from the situation on the ground and “do not have any sense of realism.”

In an interview with Fox News‘ Sara Carter on “Hannity” Thursday evening, the unidentified DHS official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed increasing frustration at the federal government’s handling of the situation.

“People are just very burned out and there’s not a lot of optimism that it’s going to get better anytime soon,” the unnamed official, a male, told Carter.

Biden Declares National Emergency At Ukraine-Russia Border

The Biden administration declared a national emergency on Thursday, slapping sanctions on more than three dozen people in Russia and expelling 10 diplomats, in an about-face after the US reversed course of two warships heading to the Black Sea.

President Biden signed an executive order detailing Russia’s actions in the SolarWinds cyber-intrusion and its interference in the election, accusing the Kremlin of working to “undermine the conduct of free and fair democratic elections and democratic institutions in the United States and its allies and partners,” according to a statement from the White House.

Russia also engaged in “malicious cyber-enabled activities against the United States and its allies and partners,” the statement said.

Biden Administration To Allow Abortion Pills by Mail

The Biden administration will temporarily lift a medication abortion restriction that requires abortion pills to be dispensed in person, reversing a Trump-era policy and handing abortion-rights groups one of their first major victories of the new administration.

In a two-page letter letter to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, a professional medical organization, acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock announced Monday evening that her agency would “exercise enforcement discretion” surrounding the FDA’s requirement that abortion patients using mifepristone to terminate a pregnancy obtain the pills in-person from a medical provider. The decision will allow providers in some states to prescribe via telemedicine and send the pills in the mail. . .

Monday evening’s decision reverses a Trump administration policy supported by the Supreme Court earlier this year. Last year, ACOG, which represents about 90% of obstetricians and gynocologists in the field, requested that the FDA lift its long-standing requirement that mifepristone (also sold as Mifeprex), the first pill of two used to induce a medication abortion, be dispensed by a doctor in-person. The medical group argued that not only was the in-person requirement medically unnecessary, but in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic placed patients and medical staff at risk of exposure to the virus. Biden’s U.N. Ambassador: ‘White Supremacy’ In America’s ‘Founding Documents And Principles’; Biden’s CDC Director: Racism ‘Serious Public Health Threat’

By Breitbart. U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) on Wednesday that “the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”

Thomas-Greenfield addressed the NAN’s 30th annual summit, praising Sharpton for a “lifetime of activism” and thanking him for “never backing down.” She did not mention Sharpton’s history of antisemitic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric, or his role in inciting riots against Jews. . .

In her prepared remarks, Thomas-Greenfield said:

I spoke on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. That day – and commemoration – was personal for me. So, I told the UN some personal stories. I told them about how my great-grandmother Mary Thomas, born in 1865, was the child of a slave. Just three generations back from me. I grew up in the segregated South. I was bussed to a segregated school. On weekends, the Klan burned crosses on lawns in our neighborhood.

I shared these stories and others to acknowledge, on the international stage, that I have personally experienced one of America’s greatest imperfections. I have seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles. But I also shared these stories to offer up an insight, a simple truth I’ve learned over the years: Racism is not the problem of the person who experiences it.

Biden’s CDC Director: Racism ‘Serious Public Health Threat’

By National Review. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky has declared racism a “serious public health threat.”

In a post on the CDC’s website, Walensky writes about the toll the coronavirus pandemic has taken on communities of color, “communities that have experienced disproportionate case counts and deaths, and where the social impact of the pandemic has been most extreme,” she writes.

“Yet, the disparities seen over the past year were not a result of COVID-19,” she wrote. “Instead, the pandemic illuminated inequities that have existed for generations and revealed for all of America a known, but often unaddressed, epidemic impacting public health: racism.”

She continued: “What we know is this: racism is a serious public health threat that directly affects the well-being of millions of Americans. As a result, it affects the health of our entire nation. Biden Admin: ‘We’re Engaged With Nascar And Country Music TV’ To Reach Unvaccinated White People

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the Biden administration is currently “engaged with NASCAR and Country Music TV,” among multiple other venues, in an effort to reach White conservatives who may be hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

During a press briefing Monday, Ms. Psaki was asked to address a New York Times report that said rural states such as Mississippi, Ohio and Oklahoma are seeing a lackluster demand for the vaccine.

Ms. Psaki said the White House was addressing the problem primarily at the local level but that other measures had been taken to “get directly connected to White conservative communities” and meet them “where they are.”

“An example is Dr. [Francis] Collins participated in ‘The 700 Club,’” she said. “Dr. [Marcella] Nunez-Smith hosted a faith leaders roundtable. We’ve run PSAs on ‘The Deadliest Catch.’ We’re engaged with NASCAR and Country Music TV.” . . .

“We’re also investing $3 billion to states and community-based organizations to strengthen vaccine confidence in the highest-risk and hardest-hit communities,” she said. “And often, people think of that as just Black and brown communities, and that is not. As you’ve noted, that is also conservative communities, White evangelicals. It’s a range of communities around the country.
