Supreme Court Allows West Point to Factor Race in Admissions Amid Ongoing Lawsuit

The Supreme Court has granted permission for West Point to continue factoring race into its admissions process, allowing the military academy to maintain its current policies while facing an ongoing lawsuit. The decision was delivered as part of an emergency appeal seeking changes to West Point’s admissions process, and it comes at a crucial time as the academy is in the process of selecting candidates for its next entering class, the Class of 2028.

The recent order, issued without any noted dissents, emphasized that it should not be interpreted as expressing a view on the merits of the constitutional question surrounding race-conscious admissions. The Supreme Court’s conservative majority had previously ruled in June that such admissions plans violate the U.S. Constitution, focusing on cases from Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. However, the court explicitly excluded West Point and other service academies from its decision.

The lawsuit against West Point was initiated by Students for Fair Admissions, the same group behind cases against Harvard and North Carolina. The organization contends that West Point’s admissions process, which takes race into account, is illegal. While lower courts had declined to halt the admissions policies at West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy during the ongoing lawsuits, only the West Point ruling has been appealed to the Supreme Court.

“Every day that passes between now and then is one where West Point, employing an illegal race-based admissions process, can end another applicant’s dream of joining the Long Gray Line,” argued lawyers for Students for Fair Admissions in a court filing.

The Biden administration, represented by Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar, emphasized in its brief that a “diverse” Army officer corps has long been considered a national-security imperative.

“For more than forty years, our Nation’s military leaders have determined that a diverse Army officer corps is a national-security imperative and that achieving that diversity requires limited consideration of race in selecting those who join the Army as cadets at the United States Military Academy at West Point.” Prelogar stated.

Unsurprisingly, the Biden administration supports the illegal consideration of race in selecting cadets at West Point to achieve this diversity.

Terror Groups Evacuate Their Positions After Biden Admin Tips Them off to Their Plans

The Iranian-backed terrorists responsible for murdering three U.S. soldiers, and injuring dozens more, in an attack over the weekend have started to evacuate their bases after President Joe Biden’s administration leaked to the media this week that they are gearing up to respond by carrying out a sustained bombing campaign.

The news comes after NBC News reported on Wednesday that the U.S. retaliatory strikes would be a “campaign” that lasts “weeks,” according to U.S. officials.

The officials went as far as to say that the U.S. would target “Iranian targets outside Iran, and the campaign will involve both strikes and cyber operations,” the report added.

Biden to Pull Trigger on Background Checks for Private Gun Sales?

Joe Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is working on a number of fronts to undermine, even devalue, the 2nd Amendment’s protections for the right of Americans to keep and bear arms.

And one of the campaigns involves creating new demands for background checks for private gun sales.

Those checks already are required of anyone who handles a firearms transaction while holding a federal firearms license, but to date they have not been required by law of those selling a gun to a neighbor, a relative or such.

However, a whilsteblower organization is warning that the Biden bureaucrats are pushing for an “unconstitutional” power grab that would now regulate private firearms transactions.

It is Empower Oversight, which recently represented the IRS agents in the Hunter Biden case, that warns in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland that two BATF sources confirmed the White House directed the bureaucrats to “make the change and ‘has drafted a 1,300-page document in support of a rule that would effectively ban private sales of firearms from one citizen to another by requiring background checks for every sale.'” (Read more from “Biden to Pull Trigger on Background Checks for Private Gun Sales?” HERE)

Former FBI Officials Sound Alarm Over Biden’s Border Crisis: “The Country Has Been Invaded”

A group of ten retired FBI directors and counter-intelligence experts has issued a warning to Congress, asserting that the ongoing border crisis under President Joe Biden poses a “new and imminent danger” to the United States. In a letter addressed to congressional leaders, the former FBI officials expressed deep concern about the current threat, emphasizing its severity and characterizing it as one of the most pernicious challenges ever faced by the nation.

The letter begins with a sobering statement, “As former senior executives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation with deep experience combating dangers to the nation, we write to express our concern about a current, specific threat that may be one of the most pernicious ever to menace the United States.”

The former FBI officials emphasized that the U.S. is currently experiencing an invasion of military-aged men from various parts of the world. These individuals are entering the country by foot, exploiting what has been portrayed globally as a largely unprotected border, according to the letter.

The letter notes a shocking estimate of ‘gotaways’ – individuals who have entered the U.S. without detection, contributing to the overall security concerns. Since President Biden assumed office, there have been over 1.7 million known gotaways, with an additional unknown number of undocumented immigrants slipping into the country unnoticed.

The experts believe the surge of individuals is not accidental and may be part of an accelerated and strategic penetration – a soft invasion designed to gain internal access to the country. They speculate that these individuals could potentially be operators aiming to inflict catastrophic damage if and when deemed necessary by enemies of the United States.

Of significant concern is the revelation that a “startling number” of illegal aliens are on the terrorist watchlist or hail from countries designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism. These individuals are not only from terror-linked regions but also from countries like China and Russia.

The retired FBI officials call for coordinated efforts from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the Intelligence Community to secure the borders, identify those already in the country illegally, and remove them promptly. They emphasize that until this invasion is halted, the United States remains extraordinarily less safe and secure. The officials underline that it would be a “shameful travesty” if a preventable attack were to occur, asserting that the government would have failed grievously in such a scenario.

Trial Begins for Six Pro-lifers Targeted by Biden Administration Over Peaceful Protest

The trial for six pro-lifers targeted by the Biden administration for peacefully protesting a Tennessee abortion facility back in 2021 began in federal court in Nashville on Wednesday.

The pro-life activists are accused of violating the FACE Act and civil rights conspiracy for a protest that took place in a hallway outside of a Mount Juliet abortion provider on March 5, 2021. On that day, a group of demonstrators gathered on the second floor of an office building in the hallway outside the Carafem Health Center Clinic. The group prayed, sang hymns, and urged women showing up to the clinic to not get abortions.

Eleven of the protesters were arrested for trespassing at the time after local police arrived and dispersed the crowd. In October 2022, the 11 pro-lifers were indicted by a federal grand jury after the Justice Department pursued charges against them arguing that there was conspiracy by the group to stop the women from accessing so-called “reproductive health care” and violating federal law ensuring access to abortion facilities. If convicted, the pro-lifers could face up to 11 years in prison and $250,000 worth of fines.

After jury selection was completed on Wednesday, the trial of Chet Gallagher of Tennessee, Coleman Boyd of Mississippi, Heather Idoni of Michigan, Cal Zastrow of Michigan, Paul Vaughn of Tennessee, and Dennis Green of Virginia began. The jury was composed of 11 women and 5 men. Trial dates for the other 4 defendants have not yet been set. One of those charged, Caroline Davis, has pled guilty and is expected to be called by the federal government to witness on Thursday. Biden Admin Pours Hundreds of Thousands Into Program to Prevent Transgender Boys From Getting Pregnant

The Biden administration has dished out nearly $700,000 to support the creation of a national pregnancy prevention program for transgender boys, federal grant records show.

Health and Human Services (HHS) handed over the funds in September 2023 to the Center for Innovative Public Health Research, a nonprofit that develops health technologies, according to its website. The program will utilize a text-messaging program that was designed for “cisgender sexual minority girls” between the ages of 14-18 to “address social and structural influences of sexual behavior” in transgender boys, according to the grant’s description.

Transgender boys, who are biological females, “may be less likely to use condoms when having sex with people who have penises and are at least as likely as cisgender girls to be pregnant,” a description for the grant shows.

The program will use focus groups to “identify and give voice to the contexts that affect sexual decision making” of transgender boys, according to the grant’s description. Biden Admin Shocker: Defense Secretary Hospitalized Days Ago, Press Alarmed By Late Notice

The Biden administration waited until Friday to announce that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had been hospitalized on Monday, a delay of several days that alarmed the Pentagon press corps.

Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder provided a brief update on Austin in a statement that was released by the Department of Defense (DoD) at around 5 p.m., or the close of business, right as the weekend was getting underway for many in the country.

“On the evening of January 1, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for complications following a recent elective medical procedure,” Ryder said.

“He is recovering well and is expecting to resume his full duties today. At all times, the Deputy Secretary of Defense was prepared to act for and exercise the powers of the Secretary, if required,” he added.

Members of the media, some with decades of experience covering the Pentagon, voiced shock and concern in response to the announcement that some billed as a “Friday night news dump.” The Pentagon held a press briefing as recently as Thursday, and made no mention of Austin’s health scare. Biden Again Bypasses Congress for Weapons Sale to Israel

The Biden administration used emergency powers to bypass congressional approval to sell weapons to Israel for the second time since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war on Friday, The Associated Press reported.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Congress he had determined Israel has an emergency requirement for the fuses, charges and primers and other components of the 155mm ammunition Israel is already fielding covered under the $147 million sale, the State Department said Friday, according to the AP. Israel needs the equipment to make the munitions functional, justifying the bypass, even as President Joe Biden has reportedly sparred with Israeli leadership over the conduct of the war and its mounting civilian toll.

“Given the urgency of Israel’s defensive needs, the secretary notified Congress that he had exercised his delegated authority to determine an emergency existed necessitating the immediate approval of the transfer,” the department said in a statement, according to the AP.

“The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to ensure Israel is able to defend itself against the threats it faces,” it said.

Blinken made a similar determination on Dec. 9, allowing Israel to move forward with a $106 million sale of 4,000 rounds of U.S.-made tank ammunition without the usual congressional oversight procedure, according to the AP. Poll Reveals Financial Strain: 4 in 10 Americans Report Deteriorating Finances

A recent survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports unveils the economic concerns of Americans, with more than four in ten (41 percent) stating that their personal finances have worsened in the past six months. The findings shed light on the financial challenges faced by a significant portion of the population in Biden’s America.

According to the survey, 32 percent of respondents anticipate a further decline in their personal finances, while 25 percent expect improvement. Meanwhile, 36 percent foresee their financial conditions remaining the same. The report indicates that only 17 percent of respondents reported an improvement in their finances over the past six months, with 38 percent stating that their situations have remained relatively stable.

In terms of bill payments, the survey reveals that 28 percent of American adults have been late at least once in the past six months when making major monthly payments such as rent, mortgage, car payments, or utility bills. In contrast, 65 percent report not missing any payments during this period.

The survey highlights demographic variations in financial experiences. For instance, 25 percent of whites, 40 percent of blacks, and 28 percent of other minorities have experienced late payments on major bills in the past six months. Additionally, the report notes that adults under 40, particularly men in this age group, are more likely than their elders to have made late payments, although older Americans are more likely to report a worsening personal financial situation.

Political affiliation also plays a role in respondents’ perceptions. Democrats (26 percent) are more likely than Republicans (16 percent) and unaffiliated voters (nine percent) to state that their financial situation has improved in the past six months. However, Democrats (36 percent) are also more likely to report being late on a major payment compared to Republicans (28 percent) and unaffiliated voters (20 percent).

Married adults and those with children at home express greater concern about the future, expecting their finances to worsen in the next six months. Predictably, respondents with annual incomes above $100,000 are more likely to report improved finances, while those earning under $50,000 indicate a decline.

Biden’s Border: Migrants Given Asylum Hearings Nearly a Decade Out as Court Backlog Tops Three Million

Border crossers claiming asylum are being given court dates to have their cases heard nearly a decade out. At the same time, the nation’s immigration court backlog has now topped three million under President Joe Biden.

As hundreds of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens — most with invalid asylum claims — flock to the United States-Mexico border in the hopes of being released into American communities, many are receiving check-in and hearing dates well into the future.

Every day, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is releasing thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Those released are given Notices to Appear (NTA) before a federal immigration judge at a later date while others are getting dates for when they must next check-in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

According to Fox News’s Bill Melugin, a female border crosser who recently arrived in Texas from Colombia was given a date to merely check-in with ICE agents — not a court date. That check-in date in New York City is in 2031.
