Canada’s Trudeau Revoking ‘Use’ of Emergencies Act

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Wednesday that the Emergencies Act, invoked in response to truckers protesting COVID-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates, would no longer be in use.

“The situation is no longer an emergency, therefore the federal government will be ending the use of the Emergencies Act,” Trudeau told reporters during a press conference. “We are confident that existing laws and bylaws are sufficient.”

The decision follows the violent clearing of the Freedom Convoy and other protesters from the Canadian capital city of Ottawa by local and federal police that injured several civilians.

Trudeau first invoked the Emergencies Act on Monday of last week, citing economic disruptions caused by the presence of the truckers as well as the alleged threat to “public safety” posed by the protesters. The act vastly expanded the powers of Canadian authorities to crack down on protesters, allowing them to direct banks to freeze accounts, impose fines and prison sentences, and cordon off certain areas of the city. Is Canada Becoming North America’s Cuba?

Canada is leaving the Western world.

In terms of all-encompassing government, suppression of dissent, and the denial of fundamental human rights to many of its citizens, Canada is now more similar to Cuba than to any free country. Canada may eventually return to Western civilization, but as of this writing, the majority of Canadians appear to have no interest in it doing so.

According to Maru Public Opinion, “two-thirds (66%) of Canadians support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bringing in the Emergencies Act … A majority (56%) of Canadians do not support the truckers who are protesting in any way, shape, or form … This is a majority view held in every province/region across the country.”

I suspect that most Americans—and certainly most people outside of America or Canada—do not know precisely what Canada’s Marxist prime minister, Justin Trudeau, is doing to his country. . .

Last week, for only the second time in Canadian history other than wartime—the first time was under Justin Trudeau’s father, Pierre Trudeau, the other Marxist to govern Canada—Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act. Tyranny! Canadian Parliament Votes for Emergencies Act Motion

The Canadian Parliament voted Monday night to approve Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s motion to invoke the Emergencies Act by a vote of 185 for and 151 against.

Trudeau invoked the Act, an unprecedented move, last week claiming it necessary to dispel peaceful protests linked to the Freedom Convoy movement, which is demanding an end to civil rights violations by the Trudeau government allegedly necessary to fight the Chinese coronavirus. At press time on Monday, no active Freedom Convoy protests exist anywhere in Canada.

The motion to uphold the invocation of emergency powers by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau passed in a vote in the Canadian House of Commons on Monday, with the Liberal Party and the NDP and other allies garnering 181 votes for the motion.

The motion was opposed by the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) and the separatist Bloc Quebecois (BQ) and their allies, who voted against it with 151 votes, broadcaster CBC reports.

Police Move In to Crush Freedom Convoy; Mass Arrests Of Innocent Protesters (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Demonstrators supporting the Freedom Convoy locked arms to block law enforcement’s advancement towards Parliament Hill on Friday.

The protesters sang Canada’s national anthem while standing in front of the police. Some shouted, “Hold the line,” “freedom,” and “peace and love.” Many wore and held Canadian flags.

Law enforcement included mounted officers on horses and an armored vehicle. Many police officers were observed wearing ear protection to guard against loud noises on several livestreams from reporters on the ground.

Breitbart News learned that police are denying motorists entry to the downtown core of Ottawa via checkpoints on many roads as of Friday. Police officers manning these checkpoints are stopping all motorists and asking their intentions for travel and if they are residents of the area. All drivers expressing an intent to join the Freedom Convoy demonstration are denied further travel in the direction of the protest.

Police officers at checkpoints advised motorists that traffic may eventually be exclusively restricted to local residents. Motorists may be asked to display drivers’ licenses to prove local residency.

Police Arrest Dozens of “Freedom Convoy” Protesters in Ottawa, Canada

By CBS News. Police in Canada say they have arrested at least 70 people and made progress in clearing out truckers who have paralyzed Ottawa for three weeks in a protest against the country’s COVID-19 restrictions.

The crackdown on the self-styled Freedom Convoy began in the morning, when hundreds of police, some in riot gear and some carrying automatic weapons, descended into the protest zone and began leading demonstrators away in handcuffs as holdout truckers blared their horns in protest. Police smashed through the door of at least one RV camper before hauling it away.

Interim Ottawa Police Chief Steve Bell said Friday afternoon that police are continuing to try to take control the streets and will work around the clock until that happens.

Bell said there has been one minor injury to an officer, and no protesters have been hurt.

The Canadian authorities have made dozens more arrests in the capital city of Ottawa as they move to crush the anti-vaccine mandate Freedom Convoy.

“[W]e have arrested 47 people — that brings the total so far to 170,” said Steve Bell, the Interim Chief of Police for the City of Ottawa, in his latest press conference on the ongoing operation.

“As we continue to take back our streets, City of Ottawa crews and other municipal vehicles came into the area to clean up and tow away all of the demonstrators’ possessions and vehicles,” he bragged.

“When we deployed our officers this morning you saw the public order units on the ground sweeping across the downtown core from east to west and moving demonstrators out of the parliamentary precinct,” he went on, stating that officers “continued to face resistance” while doing so and that “at one point a flare was ignited by a protestor”.

Trudeau Totalitarian: Banks Begin Freezing Accounts of Freedom Convoy Protesters

Canadian banks will receive the names of people involved in “Freedom Convoy” protests that have descended on the nation’s capital, a first step in a promised financial crackdown on demonstrators being instituted by the far-left government of Justin Trudeau.

Bloomberg reports the Canadian Bankers Association confirmed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has alerted banks to a list of names and made it available.

The institutions are reportedly still seeking clarity from law enforcement on how to handle the alleged protesters’ accounts, according to people familiar with the matter. But Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said some accounts have already been frozen, the news outlet reported.

Under the Emergencies Act invoked by this week by Trudeau, law enforcement officials have the ability to arrest people for obstruction of roadways and disruptive behaviour within a no-go exclusion zone. They also have the power to seize vehicles and freeze the same bank accounts.

People who care for patients with the progressively worsening disease are also bizarrely becoming sick, as though it is catching. . .

Symptoms listed by health chiefs include memory problems, muscle spasms, balance issues, difficulty walking or falls, hallucinations, unexplained weight loss, and pain in the limbs. . .

A woman in her 30s lost the ability to speak, drools excessively and is now fed through a tube.

Doxxed Freedom Convoy Donor Forced to Close Business Over Threats

A woman who donated to the Freedom Convoy, a group of truckers and individuals protesting Canada’s vaccine mandates and COVID-19 restrictions, was forced to close her gelato store after her information was leaked in a hack of GiveSendGo.

Tammy Giuliani, owner of Stella Luna Gelato Café in Ottawa, Ontario, said in an interview with the Ottawa Citizen that she was forced to close down her store after she began receiving threats. Giuliani’s name appears on a list of Freedom Convoy donors stolen from crowdfunding site GiveSendGo on Sunday and published online, the Daily Caller News Foundation confirmed.

“We got a call from the team saying, ‘We’re getting phone calls here,’” Giuliani told the Ottawa Citizen. “I said, ‘What’s going on?’ and they said, ‘They’re threatening to throw bricks through our window. They’re threatening to come and get us.’ We said, ‘Lock the door and we’ll find out what’s going on.’”

Giuliani said she told staff to go home for their own safety and reported the threats to the police. She confirmed to the Ottawa Citizen that she made a $250 donation to the Freedom Convoy on Feb. 5, and she said she was initially inspired by the protesters’ goal of easing COVID-19 restrictions. Canadian Parents Could Face Fines or Jail Time for Bringing Children to ‘Unlawful’ Freedom Convoy Protests

Canadian parents who bring their children to demonstrations the government considers to be “unlawful” can now face thousands of dollars in fines or jail time, CBC News reported.

The new power reportedly comes after the federal government invoked the Emergencies Act this week, granting itself exceptional measures to address the country’s ongoing Freedom Convoy trucker protests. It marked the first time the act has been invoked since its passage in 1988.

For more than two weeks now, thousands of demonstrators have been camping in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, in protest of the country’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Elsewhere, protesters have blocked border crossings between the U.S. and Canada, vowing to stay until Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lifts vaccine mandates and other coronavirus restrictions on truckers crossing the border.

By Daily Caller. Ontario, Canada, Superior Court Chief Justice Geoffrey Morawetz ordered an end to the “Freedom Convoy” blockade at Ambassador Bridge on the Canada-U.S. border Friday.

Morawetz’s order came in response to a request from Windsor, Ontario, Mayor Drew Dilkens and originally went into effect at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, according to the New York Times. When news of the order reached protesters on the bridge, they reacted with defiance, The Associated Press reported.

An unnamed man with a microphone asked protesters if they would comply with the order, according to the AP. The crowd reacted with applause as they agreed to stay on the bridge, the outlet reported.

Trudeau Blames Americans For Aiding And Abetting Ottawa Trucker Protest

By Daily Caller. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau laid blame at the feet of the U.S. for ongoing protests by truckers in Ottawa during a press conference Friday.

Trudeau addressed the protests against COVID-19 restrictions which have bogged down business in the Canadian capital for the past two weeks. In his speech, he said he spoke with President Joe Biden about American citizens who have provided funds, supplies and other support to the truckers.

“This morning, I had a direct call with President Biden to talk about our shared challenges at the border. I updated him on the situation, particularly in Windsor,” Trudeau said at the top of his press conference. “We discussed the American, and indeed global influences on the protest.
