“Real Time” host Bill Maher kicked off his panel discussion Friday night on the ongoing Canadian Freedom Convoy protest that has garnered international attention. . .
The HBO star then took aim at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who he initially thought was a “cool guy,” for his vicious attacks toward the unvaccinated throughout the pandemic and his smearing of the trucker protesters.
“He was talking about people who are not vaccinated. He said, ‘They don’t believe in science. They’re often misogynistic, often racist,'” Maher said, quoting Trudeau.
“No, they’re not,” Maher reacted. “He said, ‘But they take up space. And with that we have to make a choice in terms of a leader as a country. Do we tolerate these people?’

The popular crowdfunding site GoFundMe has taken down yet another conservative donation campaign.
As donations for the “Freedom Convoy” trucker protest in Ottawa, Ontario, reached $10 million on Feb. 4, GoFundMe pulled the plug on it and took the page down, alleging violence and unlawful activity as an excuse.
To add insult to injury, the company wasn’t originally planning on returning the donated funds from the canceled page unless asked. Instead, GoFundMe claimed it intended to distribute the money to charities the truckers selected. After massive public pushback—especially from a number of states’ attorneys general—the platform relented and said it would automatically return the funds.
GoFundMe’s excuse for closing the donations page down doesn’t pass the smell test, because it has a long history of deplatforming conservative causes while conspicuously leaving leftist crowdfunding efforts alone.
Consider a case from back in November 2020, when the site canceled a campaign to erect a billboard in California advertising a book critical of puberty blockers for kids. Local parents tried to get a sign erected that would have read “Puberty is not a medical condition,” along with a photo of the book “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters” by Abigail Shrier.
GoFundMe offered no explanation beyond claiming the campaign went against the site’s user rules.
In March of last year, it censored another cause for purely political reasons: A women’s rape crisis center in Vancouver, British Columbia, had crowdfunded $7,000 before GoFundMe killed the page. The page was started by a short-lived internet community called “Super Straight” that wanted to support the one rape crisis center in the city explicitly for biological women. That ran afoul of GoFundMe’s liberal sensibilities regarding transgender people, so the page had to go.
While GoFundMe has ramped up its efforts against conservatives in recent years, the practice tracks back to the site’s early days.
In April 2015, The Daily Signal reported a pair of stories about bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein and florist Barronelle Stutzman, who had their GoFundMe campaigns stripped from the platform after they refused to provide service for gay weddings. The Kleins’ story is notable insofar as it ushered in a change in policy directly responsible for today’s problems.
Prior to the Kleins, GoFundMe’s terms of service prohibited “campaigns in defense of formal charges of heinous crimes, including violent, hateful, or sexual acts.” After they removed the Kleins’ page, the terms were updated to include “discriminatory acts.”
To the leftists in charge at GoFundMe, anything contrary to their narrative can be construed as “hateful” or “discriminatory,” and therefore, ripe for takedown.
GoFundMe’s bias in deciding what stays and what goes on its platform becomes even more evident when one looks at the types of violent leftist content that’s allowed to remain.
Numerous funding campaigns for violent Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters have been allowed to remain up on the site while conservatives who have done nothing “wrong” except go against leftist dogma are frequently deleted.
The double standard employed by platforms like GoFundMe over what is acceptable is dangerous. American democracy cannot survive a system where only one political ideology can support causes it likes.
Thankfully, however, there are burgeoning alternatives. As of this writing, the Canadian truckers have raised more than $6 million on the Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo. While it would be preferable if GoFundMe would drop its ideological bias and accept donations to non-leftist causes, in the meantime conservatives should financially support causes they agree with through whatever means necessary.

By Breitbart. Supporters of Canada’s anti-mandate, trucker-led Freedom Convoy movement shut down traffic on the Ambassador Bridge on Monday.
Located between Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan, the bridge is part of the busiest border crossing between Canada and the United States.
Protesters blocked the Ambassador Bridge exit onto Huron Church Road in Windsor on Monday, obliging the police to recommend an alternate route for motorists. The resulting traffic jam spread through Windsor and eventually reached across the border into the United States.

The Ambassador Bridge was closed entirely for part of Monday night and Tuesday morning. Police advised motorists, particularly those driving commercial vehicles, to reroute to an entirely different bridge, the Bluewater in Sarnia, if they needed to cross the U.S. border.
A tunnel from Windsor to Detroit was also recommended as an alternative by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Alaska Freedom Convoy Rolls on in Support of Canadian Truckers
By Breitbart. Truckers traveled from Anchorage to Eagle River, Alaska, over the weekend in support of a massive truck convoy in Ottawa, Canada, to protest coronavirus vaccine mandates in order to conduct cross-border business.
More than 100 truck drivers took part in the Alaskan convoy, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
“Truck drivers and other service providers since Jan. 15 can only enter Canada if they are fully vaccinated,” the Associated Press reported. “A week later, the U.S. required vaccinations from essential non-resident travelers.”
“We have to have the shot stamps on our medical cards in order to go out of state, and we don’t want them,” Jeremy Speldrich, a truck driver with GMG General, Inc. of Anchorage,” said in the AP report. “Mandates should be our choice, whether you want the shots or not.”
AP reported that a second convoy of truckers drove from Eagle River north to the Wasilla area in a show of support of their northern brothers. A video of a 78-year-old man being taken down and arrested by police in Ottawa, Canada, for the offense of honking in support of a truckers convoy opposing the nation’s COVID mandates has this week obliterated all else in the dispute.
The case developed when police stopped Gerry Charlebois only a few blocks from the massive truckers’ protest of COVID-19 restrictions the federal government in Canada has applied to residents.
He honked at a trucker and gave him a thumbs-up.

However, that violated a brand new order from a judge, Hugh McLean, of Ontario Superior Court, who ruled that no one could use “air horns or train horns” in that area of Ottawa, except for those on fire trucks, for 10 days. . .

The government of far-left Prime Minister Justin Trudeau withdrew nonessential personnel from Canada’s embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, this weekend and sent the nation’s defense minister to the capital to discuss an alleged potential Russian invasion of the country.
The extensive focus on Ukraine for Canada follows nearly two weeks of elevated coverage of the eight-year invasion of Ukraine by Moscow that became a global priority after President Joe Biden hinted that America would not aid its allies in Kyiv if Russia engages in a “minor incursion” of the country. Tensions between the Biden administration and its counterpart under Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have escalated since the “minor incursion” remark, culminating with an exasperated Zelensky telling reporters during a press conference Friday that his country has lost nearly $500 million in foreign investment since Biden predicted a further invasion of the country.
It also follows a tumultuous week of domestic politics in Canada. After nearly two years of onerous pandemic lockdown policies under the Trudeau government, a protest convoy organized by truckers across Canada arrived in Ottawa this weekend, flooding the capital with thousands of peaceful protesters demanding the restoration of basic civil rights stripped from Canadians in the name of public health. Police following the event documented no incidents of violence, injuries, or any major disturbances following the peaceful protests.
Trudeau has dismissed the thousands of protesters as a “fringe” minority and fled to an undisclosed location shortly before the truckers arrived in the capital. Black Lives Matter (BLM) apparently sent millions to a Canadian charity lead by the wife of its cofounder to buy a mansion that was formerly the headquarters of the Communist Party, the New York Post reported Saturday.
“M4BJ, a Toronto-based non-profit set up by Janaya Khan and other Canadian activists, snagged the 10,000 square foot historic property for the equivalent of $6.3 million in cash in July 2021, according to Toronto property records viewed by The Post,” the outlet stated.

Khan is the wife of Patrisse Khan-Cullors, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Global Foundation Network and a self-avowed Marxist. She resigned from the group last year, a month after The Post revealed that she had spent $3.2 million on homes in Georgia and Los Angeles. Khan-Cullors vigorously denied that BLM donations were used to buy the homes. The purchase of the Toronto property, named the Wildseed Centre for Art and Activism, came to light amid mounting concerns over the US activist group’s lack of transparency in its finances.

Ronald McDonald Houses in British Columbia and Yukon, Canada, plan to evict child cancer patients and their parents if they don’t get the COVID-19 shot by the end of January.
“Beginning January 17, 2022, everyone five years and older who are working, staying, or visiting our facilities (both the House at 4567 Heather St, Vancouver and at the Family Room in Surrey Memorial Hospital) must show proof of full vaccination (two doses), in addition to completing our existing screening, unless an Accommodation has been sought and has been explicitly approved and granted by RMH BC in writing,” a letter from RMH British Columbia & Yukon Senior Director of Family Services Leslie Louie states.
The letter was sent to all families on Monday and only gives them a few weeks with a Jan. 31 grace period deadline to submit their vaccine passports to the RMHBC administration, which usually provides housing to families of sick children in need of regular hospital treatment.
Austin Furgason and his wife Lindsey, who are staying in the Vancouver Ronald McDonald house while their 4-year-old son receives treatment for leukemia, are just two of the people who RMH plans to kick out on Jan. 31 unless they get the COVID-19 jab.
In a video posted to Facebook, Furgason confronted a manager in the Vancouver house demanding answers on why the charity is demanding vaccination when the shot clearly doesn’t stop the spread of COVID-19.

A Canadian medical researcher who rose to become the nation’s top voice on indigenous health has been ousted from her government job and her university professorship — after suspicious colleagues investigated her increasingly fanciful claims of Native American heritage and learned she was a fraud.
Carrie Bourassa, a public health expert who served as scientific director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health, was suspended on Nov. 1, five days after the state-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation published a lengthy expose on her background.
Far from being a member of the Métis nation, as she had long claimed, a laborious trace of Bourassa’s family tree revealed that her supposedly indigenous ancestors were in fact immigrant farmers who hailed from Russia, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. . .

Samples from early Wuhan COVID-19 patients show the presence of genetically modified Henipah virus, an American scientist has found.
Henipah was one of the two types of viruses sent to China by Chinese-born scientists from a Canadian laboratory at the centre of a controversy over the firing of the scientists and collaboration with Chinese military researchers. It is not clear whether the virus found in the Chinese samples is related to the virus samples sent by the Canadian lab, which were shipped in late March 2019.
The finding was confirmed for The Epoch Times by another qualified scientist.
The evidence was first found by Dr. Steven Quay, a Seattle-based physician-scientist and former faculty member at the Stanford University School of Medicine, who looked at early COVID-19 samples uploaded by scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) shortly after China informed the World Health Organization about the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak.
The samples from the patients, who reportedly were found to have an “unknown pneumonia disease” in December 2019, were uploaded to the genetic sequence database, GenBank, on the website of the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH). I went home to visit my mother. Canada tried to force me into a Covid detention facility threatening fines and police action as they don’t recognize my natural immunity. I had no choice but to immediately fly back to Europe.
At the time of writing, I’m at an altitude of exactly 11,277m, 5,230km away from Vancouver, Canada, and 3,159km from my stopover in Munich, Germany, en route back to Paris, France. Where I really should be is relaxing on the backyard patio or in the jacuzzi at my home near Vancouver with a cold drink on a hot summer day. Instead, I’m on a Lufthansa flight heading back to Paris – just a few hours after arriving across the ocean on a 10-hour flight – because my own country’s officials kicked me out. All because I committed the apparent violation of trying to re-enter my own country with proof of naturally acquired Covid-19 antibodies made by my own immune system post-recovery rather than those generated by the manmade Covid-19 vaccine about which much is still to be learned. . .
And now I’m paying another price for choosing to protect my own health. I’ve found myself threatened with internment by the Canadian government – something that not even terror suspects or illegal immigrants are subjected to without at least a hearing.
When I attempted to return home from Paris to Vancouver to visit my elderly mother for the first time in a year, I was treated worse than a criminal. I arrived at the airport with a negative PCR test, two positive Covid antibody tests from March and July proving that I still had significant Covid antibodies post-recovery, and a ‘covid immunity certificate’ written and signed by my French doctor to confirm this fact.
The Canadian border officer refused to accept the antibody laboratory test results as proof that I had recovered and was immune from Covid. He wanted a PCR test less than three months ago, after which everyone is expected to take the vaccine. (I didn’t even know that I had Covid until I took a serology antibody test weeks later.) Nor did the officer show any consideration for the negative PCR test taken hours at departure, or for the various other antigen tests – all negative – taken every 48 hours for the prior 10 days. Instead, he ordered me to sign up for a 3-day stay at a government internment facility (to then be followed by a mandatory and monitored 14-day home isolation).
