A Chicago Church Is ‘Fasting From Whiteness’ for Lent

Not even the Catholic Church, or any religion, is safe from the woke virus. You all knew this. I’m not saying anything new. It just carries a more ‘in your face’ attitude. It’s Lent for scores of Christians around the world. I was raised Catholic but have since strayed admittedly. It wasn’t over the scandals, though those are heinous. I’m just a person who really wasn’t born with deep faith. It’s a defect of mine, but that doesn’t mean I don’t see the important role religion has played in our society from the abolition of slavery to helping the inner-city poor.

Sunday mass is a place to give thanks and atone for sins. It’s not a place to spread woke nonsense. One church in Chicago, they’re fasting from whiteness for Lent. I have no idea what that means, but I’m pretty sure you’d have to stretch pages to their extreme points to find a place for it in catechism.

At Least 18 Shot Over Christmas Weekend in Lightfoot’s Chicago

At least 18 people were shot, one of them fatally, Christmas Eve into Sunday morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.

NBC 5 noted the one fatality occurred Christmas Day “in the 3000 block of North Avers” when a 24-year-old was shot and killed. . .

City to Ban Restaurants From Marketing Unhealthy Sugary Drinks to Children

The city of Chicago will ban restaurants from marketing unhealthy sugary drinks in meals for children in a bid to prevent illnesses stemming from poor eating habits.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the Chicago Department of Public Health revealed the legislation at a meeting of the City Council on Wednesday.

“Children don’t need marketing that encourages unhealthy behavior—and parents don’t need extra pressure to serve their kids unhealthy food,” said Lightfoot said in press release.

“By banning such marketing while protecting parental choice, this ordinance will help empower parents to make the right choice for their families,” she added.

The new law will not ban parents from asking for the unhealthy sugary drinks for their children at restaurants, only that the businesses won’t be able to market them to children. The law says that restaurants can only pair children’s meals with “unsweetened still or sparkling water, 100% fruit or vegetable juice, or dairy and non-dairy milks that meet certain calorie requirements.” (Read more from “City to Ban Restaurants From Marketing Unhealthy Sugary Drinks to Children” HERE)

Public School System Abolishes Sex-Specific Restrooms to Usher in Gender-Neutral Bathrooms to ‘Increase Gender Equity’ (VIDEO)

The Chicago Public Schools system will no longer have girls’ and boys’ bathrooms, but instead will have gender-neutral restrooms where all sexes are welcome.

The Chicago Public Schools system launched an initiative to abolish sex-specific bathrooms and transform them into restrooms where “all who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom” regardless of their gender.

CPS Title IX officer Camie Pratt introduced the sweeping new changes in a video posted on social media.

“On top of ensuring that each of our schools is a safe learning environment, we’re also taking steps to create more inclusive and supportive schools,” Pratt says in the video. “One change that will be implemented this school year relates to our school bathrooms.”

“In compliance with new federal guidelines, all CPS students and staff will have fair and equitable access to bathroom facilities that align with their gender identity,” she continues.

‘They’ve Had Enough’: Dozens of Chicago Police Officers Turn Their Backs on Lori Lightfoot

More than two dozen Chicago police officers reportedly turned their backs on Mayor Lori Lightfoot on the 7th floor of the University of Chicago Medical Center Saturday night when she came to visit a critically wounded officer.

Officer Ella French was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Saturday evening and her partner was critically wounded. French had just returned from maternity leave after giving birth to a daughter.

“The police officers’ decision to turn their backs on the mayor while waiting with the family on the 7th floor was significant,” Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara told the Chicago Sun-Times after a massive number of officers showed up at the hospital to support their fallen comrades.

“Turning their backs on the mayor was an excellent example of how the hundreds of police officers felt waiting outside the hospital,” he added. “They have had enough and are no longer going to remain silent anymore.”

The mayor had been warned not to come to the hospital but did so anyway for a photo-op. The Chicago Police Department rank and file proceeded to let her know exactly how they felt by giving her the cold shoulder, according to the Sun Times. And they were not alone.

A North Korean defector claims she was mugged by three black women outside Chicago’s Saks Fifth Avenue store last year – but white bystanders accused her of being racist when she tried to call police.

Yeonmi Park, 27, told Joe Rogan’s podcast that she was robbed of her wallet near the department store on Michigan Avenue during a wave of looting across the city last summer.

Park – who has been outspoken on ‘woke’ culture – claims she grabbed hold of one of the women and was trying to call police but bystanders intervened.

She claims about 20 people, many who she said were white, accused her of being racist for blaming the women for mugging her.

‘No One Cares’: Uncle of Infant Shot in Chicago Speaks Out After Biden-Lightfoot Meeting (VIDEO)

The uncle of an infant who was shot in the head in Chicago said Thursday that “it feels like no one cares” as President Biden and Chicago Mayor Lightfoot attempt to tackle a massive increase in murders and shootings up over 2019.

During an appearance on “America’s Newsroom,” Charles McKenzie, a Chicago community activist, said that although he would like to see the president and the city’s mayor take action and create policies to curb the crime spike, his community cannot wait. . .

Last Thursday, at least 9 people were shot, including McKenzie’s 1-month old niece, Terriana Smith.

Terriana was shot in the head and rushed to the hospital, where she is currently fighting for her life.

U.S. Schools To Offer Free Condoms To Students As Young As 10-Years-Old

When Chicago Public Schools resume classes in the fall, students as young as 10-years-old – grades fifth and up — will have access to free condoms.

The CPS Board of Education passed the new policy back in December. Per the new policy, schools that teach grades five and up will be required to maintain a “condom availability program.”

CPS said the condoms will be provided at no cost by the Chicago Department of Public Health “in an ongoing effort to mitigate the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV infection, and unintended pregnancy” among students.

In an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, CPS’ top doctor Kenneth Fox acknowledged that the decision will likely ruffle some feathers, but said it was necessary to safeguard students’ health.

At Least 74 Chicagoans Injured And 14 Killed In Shootings Over July 4 Weekend

Chicago suffered another violent weekend over the Independence Day holiday, with at least 88 people shot since Friday, 14 of whom were killed, according to new reports.

Among the 74 people injured through Monday were children, including a five-year-old girl who was shot in the leg and a six-year-old girl, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

A Chicago police commander and a sergeant were also shot while dispersing a crowd, with the commander struck in the foot and the sergeant shot in the leg, according to the outlet. Both were reportedly transported to Stronger Hospital, where their condition is not known.

City officials had been bracing for an especially violent holiday weekend, which Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown dubbed “the most critical weekend of the year” due to its historically high rates of violence.

After Chicago aldermen called a special meeting of the city council on Friday, the department announced a July 4 weekend violence mitigation plan, which focused on 15 violence-prone areas within the city, and canceled days off for officers, who instead worked 12-hour shifts. Young Father Allegedly Forced Out of His Car and Executed in Street as Chicago Shootings Surge

On the eve of Father’s Day, a young dad named Gyovanni Arzuaga was allegedly executed in the middle of a Chicago city street. He was 24 years old.

According to CBS 2 Chicago, the crime was live-streamed on Facebook by an unidentified individual. The live stream depicts Arzuaga and his girlfriend, Yasmin Perez, being forcibly removed from their vehicle by a group of individuals, during a celebration for Puerto Rican People’s Day. Arzuaga and Perez had two children together.

In the video, the group of individuals appears to pull Arzuaga and Perez out of their car, before scattering. As Arzuaga and Perez lay on the concrete, a man appears to approach them “and [shoot] them at point blank range.”

The shooting reportedly occurred at around 9:00 p.m. Saturday in Humboldt Park. Both victims were taken to the hospital, at which point Arzuaga was pronounced dead.
