Former GOP Rep Trashes Ron DeSantis for Supposedly Not Being Friendly While in Congress

A former Republican congressman from Michigan trashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for not being friendly and personable during their time serving on the same committee in Congress.

David Trott, the former Michigan representative, “sat right next to” the Florida governor on the House Foreign Affairs Committee for two years and never heard a “single word” out of DeSantis, he told Politico. Trott slammed the governor for being “arrogant” and an “a**hole,” and wasn’t shocked that so many Florida representatives are backing former President Donald Trump in 2024 instead of DeSantis.

“I go to my first [House Foreign Affairs Committee] hearing early, and DeSantis showed up right at the gavel time and didn’t say hello or introduce himself,” Trott said. “And then the next hearing, the same thing happened. I think the third time it happened, I thought, ‘Oh, this guy’s not ever going to say hello to me.’”

Trott, who was a freshman member at the time, expected DeSantis to introduce himself, and when he didn’t, Trott took the initiative, he told Politico. While Trott said he realized that the governor has “talent” and is able to bolster voters by advancing “hot button issues,” he said DeSantis lacked a friendly personality.
“If you’re going to go into politics, kind of a fundamental skill that you should have is likability. I don’t think [he] has that,” Trott said. “He never developed any relationships with other members that I know of. You’d never see him talking on the floor with other people or palling around. He’s just a very arrogant guy, very focused on Ron DeSantis.”

Trott said the governor’s “awkward” interactions are playing out in his “pre-presidential campaign” among the Florida congressmembers, as many have thrown their support behind Trump, he told Politico. The former president has the backing of Reps. John Rutherford, Brian Mast, Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Greg Steube, Cory Mills and Byron Daniels, while DeSantis only has the endorsement of Rep. White House Ousts Top Official Over Misuse of Govt Funds Following Congressional Outcry

The White House fired Architect of the Capitol Brett Blanton on Monday following complaints from a bipartisan group of Congress-members and the threat of impeachment.

An Inspector General report released in October 2022 found that Blanton and his family improperly used agency vehicles, taking them to West Virginia, Florida, and South Carolina. The Blanton family’s use of agency vehicles added up to at least $12,434 “in unreported, taxable noncash fringe benefits.” Blanton also allegedly misrepresented himself as a law enforcement official.

Democratic New York Rep. Joe Morelle, ranking member of the House Administration Committee, confirmed the firing in a statement.

“After being given the opportunity to respond to numerous allegations of legal, ethical, and administrative violations, and failing to directly respond, the President has removed Mr. Brett Blanton from his position – a decision I firmly stand behind,” he said. “President Biden did the right thing and heeded my call for action. Even Schiff Admits: Possible National Security Jeopardized With Biden Documents

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Congress could not “exclude the possibility” that national security was jeopardized by the handling of President Biden’s classified documents. . .

Karl said, “Is it possible that national security was jeopardized here as many, including you, raised that possibility with the Mar-a-Lago documents?”

Schiff said, “I don’t think we can exclude the possibility without knowing more of the facts. We have asked for an assessment in the intelligence community of the Mar-a-Lago documents. I think we ought to get that same assessment to the documents found in the think tank as well as the home of President Biden. Lauren Boebert Takes Long Pause Before Nominating Kevin Hern for Speaker (VIDEO)

Representative Lauren Boebert elicited jeers from her fellow Congress members on Thursday as she made a surprising choice for speaker of the House. The Colorado Republican prefaced her vote by cheekily noting that she’d be opting for “Kevin,” but her pick wasn’t the person that some may have initially assumed.

On Thursday, the House speaker race dragged on following several voting rounds the previous two days. Although Congressman Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, was once considered the frontrunner, his chances of securing the spot have dwindled as a group of hardline conservatives seeks to prevent his win. . .

“I rise to cast my vote for a member not of the Freedom Caucus, but for Kevin,” she said, taking a pause before continuing, “the unanimously elected chairman of the Republican Study Committee, a businessman from humble beginnings, a leader, a true consensus candidate that can deliver on promises we have made to the American people.

“I vote today for Kevin Hern of Oklahoma,” she concluded as congressional lawmakers started to speak over her in the background.

Unvaxxed 14-Year-old Rejected by Top Hospital for Lifesaving Surgery

A problem that already has become so severe in America’s health care industry that a physicians’ group has launched a campaign demanding that Congress intervene has flared again.

This time it is affecting the life of a 14-year-old girl who needs a lifesaving kidney transplant – but has been refused medical care by Duke University Hospital because she is unvaccinated.

WND reported earlier that situation had developed so often that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons created an online process to allow Americans to email their members of Congress.

The AAPS is demanding that transplant centers be legally prohibited from “treating an individual as ineligible to donate or receive an organ” or assign “a lower priority to an individual waiting to receive an organ” if that individual has declined to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Rep. Is the U.S. Military Vaccine Mandate Going to Be Repealed?

Congress and the White House are mulling proposals from top lawmakers to repeal the U.S. military’s vaccine mandate several months after President Joe Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic to be “over,” according to recent media reports.

Congress’ annual defense bill, the text of which is set to be published next week, may include a compromise amendment scrapping the military vaccine requirement, Democratic Rep. Adam Smith of Washington told Politico on Saturday. Smith’s comments followed prospective House leader Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s claims on Friday that House and Senate leaders had come to an agreement, which the White House is considering, on overturning the Biden administration’s service-wide mandate, according to Reuters.

President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and McCarthy had negotiated a bipartisan agreement to end the mandate, McCarthy told Fox News on Friday evening.

“We’re going to see in the NDAA – lift the vaccination mandate on our military men and women,” McCarthy said, referring to Congress’ yearly funding bill for the U.S. military.

GOP Rep. Says 14 FBI Whistleblowers Have Come Forward

More than a dozen FBI whistleblowers have come forward to Republican investigators in Congress, according to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

The congressman, who is the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News host Trey Gowdy the number has risen to 14 after the FBI raid at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.

During a conversation about alleged politicization at the Justice Department, along with former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, Jordan made the case that the public has “figured it out” when it comes to what he characterized as the Left generating a lie, the “Big Media” reporting the lie, Big Tech amplifying the lie, and then both piling on Republicans when they catch on and say something. He said there are agents in the bureau who have realized the same.

“Fourteen FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people,” Jordan said. “There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the top that is the problem. Some of these good agents are coming to us, telling us what is baloney, what’s going on — the political nature now of the Justice Department — God bless them for doing it — talking about the school board issue, about a whole host of issues.” (Read more from “GOP Rep. Is the J6 Committee Trying to Get Trump Re-Elected?

Now that anonymous sources are leaking to The Washington Post that the Department of Justice is officially targeting former President Donald Trump with criminal charges, this is a good time to ask: Just how crazy are the occupants of Washington, D.C.? Do they really think they will indict, prosecute, convict, and imprison the Republican frontrunner for president in 2024 without creating a massive amount of public backlash?

For half the country, trying to take down Trump for giving a speech over a mile away from the Capitol on Jan. 6 while hardly anybody has been held accountable for the atrocious Russia collusion hoax that nearly destroyed his presidency will be nothing less than total confirmation of a two-tiered and irreparably corrupt justice system and could permanently tear the nation in two.

This may come as a shocker to Washington, but Congress’s J6 obsession is not high on Americans’ list of critical issues. Polls show the American people’s top concerns are skyrocketing inflation and economic uncertainty, not what happened on Jan. 6. To say that the American government and the American people are not speaking the same language right now is an understatement. . .

Had Attorney General Merrick Garland felt that Trump had potentially committed a crime before leaving office, he should have pursued an investigation free from the overtly political atmosphere created by Congress’s J6 committee hearings. Whatever Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 Committee is, it has not been a courtroom pursuing justice. Though witnesses are brought before the committee to “confess,” as Rep. Squad Dems Arrested During Protest Near Supreme Court

Multiple members of Congress including Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Alma Adams, D-N.C., were arrested by Capitol Police Tuesday afternoon outside the Supreme Court building during an abortion rights protest.

Adams’ staff confirmed her arrest in a tweet from her official account. Omar’s office confirmed her arrest to WCCO.

In a tweet, Omar remained defiant.

“Today I was arrested while participating in a civil disobedience action with my fellow Members of Congress outside the Supreme Court. I will continue to do everything in my power to raise the alarm about the assault on our reproductive rights!” she wrote.

A black Republican pastor running for Congress in Arizona dropped an ad Wednesday in which he uses an AR-15 to confront members of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

Jerone Davison is running for Arizona’s fourth congressional district. In the ad dropped on Twitter with the caption “Make Rifles Great Again,” Davison says sometimes an AR-15 is needed.

“Democrats like to say that no one needs an AR-15 for self defense. That no one could possibly need all 30 rounds. But when this rifle is the only thing standing between your family and a dozen angry Democrats in Klan hoods, you just might need that semi-automatic. And all 30 rounds.”
