Airline To Force New Employees To Get COVID Vaccine

Delta Air Lines will require all new hires in the U.S. to be immunized against COVID-19, the carrier announced Friday, calling vaccines “safe, effective and essential to the future of the airline and our world.”

The Atlanta-based airline noted its progress toward herd immunity within its own workforce, with 60% of its roughly 74,000 employees already vaccinated, the company said. To help maintain that trajectory, Delta will mandate that those joining the company be vaccinated unless they qualify for an accommodation, the company said in a statement. The policy starts Monday.

“Approximately two out of 10 Americans have been infected by COVID-19, and one out of 1,000 Americans has died from the virus. The vaccines are not only extremely effective in preventing illness and symptoms from COVID-19, but they are also nearly 100 percent effective in preventing hospitalization and death,” Delta stated. . .

While it is the first major U.S. carrier to make the move, at least one other airline seems likely to echo Delta in the near future.

Republicans Demand Answers From Biden About Coronavirus Origins

Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee have written letters to President Biden and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines demanding information on the origin of COVID-19, claiming they found evidence to support the theory that the virus originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab.

The letter accuses the intelligence community of failing to provide timely updates on its investigation and not being “forthcoming” about “what processes it undertook to make seemingly authoritative statements early in the pandemic about the origins of the virus — conclusions that are now in question.

“This casts doubt on the validity of early judgments as well as the analytic integrity of COVID-19-related intelligence reporting,” the letter addressed to Haines states.

“Republican Members are aware of allegations that the IC suppressed dissenting views related to the origins of the pandemic and that the community relied upon ‘outside’ experts with concerning yet undisclosed entanglements,” the letter, signed by Ranking Member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., asserts.

The letter demands that the intelligence community turn over all of its information on COVID-19’s origins, specifically requesting any reporting on a possible “collaboration” between the Wuhan lab and the Chinese military. It asked for any evidence intelligence agencies had to prove coronavirus broke out naturally and originated in animals. WATCH: Pastor Dragged Off by SWAT Team Out on Bail Has a Warning for Americans

Earlier this month, Pastor Artur Pawlowski, the pastor in Canada was arrested on a busy highway and dragged off by a SWAT team along with his brother. The pastor had been targeted for months because he dared to open up his church and not turn anyone away. A judge granted a warrant for police to arrest him doing “anything necessary.” Now, the pastor and his brother are out on bail.

The pastor spoke with Newsmax highlighting how the Calgary Police have been incessantly targeting him, though he doesn’t seem ready to relent any time soon. While speaking with Rob Schmitt, he likened what he has gone through to the plight of Hong Kong protesters.

“I just woke up in Hong Kong a few days ago. I mean, I thought I emigrated to our beloved Canada, but I am in Hong Kong, full force,” he said.

High School Threatens Students With Truancy And Fines For Protesting Mask Rules

Dozens of students in Wisconsin’s Tomahawk School District are looking at truancy citations after walking out of classes last week in a protest against the school system’s stringent mask policy. Tomahawk Police Chief Al Elvins tells Empower Wisconsin the students will be cited, at the district’s request, and will each face a $98.60 fine.

The demonstrations began on May 3, with several students who demanded the district end its mandatory mask policy on school property. On May 5, approximately 50 students walked out after they were dissatisfied with what sources say was a fruitless meeting with the administration.

Ryan Hawley’s high school son walked out the first day of the protests, which was billed as a “No Mask Monday.” The small group of students was met by the school resource officer who told them to put their masks on and go back to class. All but two complied. . .

More students joined the demonstration on May 4, with a half dozen or so being sent home, Hawley and other parents said, adding that Tomahawk administrators have been unyielding on the mask policy and have refused to listen to opponents. . .

Poll: Vaccinated People Far Less Likely To Engage In Public Activities Than Unvaccinated Americans

Vaccinated Americans are far less likely to engage in public activities than people who have not yet received the coronavirus vaccine, according to a new Morning Consult poll.

A survey of 879 vaccinated American adults and 1,321 unvaccinated adults found that those who were not inoculated against COVID-19 were much more likely to want to return to normal and engage in public activities. Morning Consult gauged the interest in both groups in returning to public activities, including going to the gym, taking a train, going to a party, attending a concert, going to a wedding, traveling abroad, and going on a cruise. In every possible scenario, the respondents that were not vaccinated were more inclined to participate in these public activities and events.

According to the poll, 43% of unvaccinated people felt it was safe to go to the gym versus only 27% of vaccinated Americans given the current state of the coronavirus pandemic. There were 42% of unvaccinated respondents who would attend a concert compared to 23% of vaccinated. When it comes to attending a sporting event, 42% of unvaccinated are ready to go to the ballpark, and 29% of vaccinated would go to the stadium to support their favorite sports team. There were 54% of vaccinated participants ready to get back to dating, while 43% of respondents were prepared to look for love despite being vaccinated for COVID-19. Speaking of love, there were 50% of unvaccinated people who felt comfortable attending a wedding, but just 38% of Americans who are vaccinated would go to a wedding. The poll found that 45% of unvaccinated people would attend a religious gathering versus 35% of those who were vaccinated.

Cruise Line Foolishly Threatens to Boycott Florida Over Vaccine Passports

The rampant and prolonged COVID-19 shutdowns have imposed economic distress on countless individuals and businesses through no choice of their own, but some corporations are inflicting the pains of coronavirus regulations needlessly on themselves. Norwegian Cruise Line is threatening to be one such company.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation on May 3 to ban the requirement of “vaccine passports” in the state, following an April executive order with the same purpose. “In Florida, your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected and no business or government entity will be able to deny you services based on your decision,” DeSantis said at the signing. The bill authorizes a fine of up to $5,000 against any business, government entity, or educational institution in violation. . .

Frank Del Rio, the CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, suggested in an earnings call last week that the cruise line may suspend its use of ports in the Sunshine State. “God forbid we can’t operate in the state of Florida for whatever reason, then there are other states that we do operate from,” Del Rio said. “We can operate from the Caribbean for a ship that otherwise would have gone to Florida.” . . .

In the same press conference, DeSantis made it clear he was not concerned about Del Rio’s threat. “Norwegian’s not one of the big ones,” he noted, adding that other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Carnival are “ready to go.”

“Cruise lines have been operating in other parts of the world where there’s no access to the vaccine,” DeSantis continued. CDC Changes Guidelines AGAIN for Fully Vaccinated

Fully vaccinated people can ditch their masks and ignore physical distancing both outdoors and indoors, the Biden administration said Thursday in a dramatic shift for a federal team that has been panned as overly cautious and a drag on the return to normal life.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said more than one-third of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated and protected from the coronavirus, so they can to start doing the things they gave up more than a year ago because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Today is a great day for America in our long battle with the coronavirus,” a maskless President Biden said from the White House Rose Garden. “I think it’s a great milestone.”

Relaxed mask rules do not apply to health care settings — such as hospitals or doctor’s offices — or in homeless shelters or jails. Governor Rolls Out ‘Lottery’ For Vaccinated Adults, Offering $1M Payouts

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) announced Wednesday that the state will soon hold lottery drawings exclusively for vaccinated adults, and winners will take home $1 million each.

DeWine revealed the new plan during an address to his state, touting the progress Ohioans have made in the fight against COVID-19 and announcing that state government’s coronavirus restrictions would end as of June 2 — outside of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

He then offered incentives for more people to get vaccinated against the virus.

“Two weeks from tonight on May 26th, we will announce a winner of a separate drawing for adults who have received at least their first dose of the vaccine,” DeWine explained in a tweet. “This announcement will occur each Wednesday for five weeks, and the winner each Wednesday will receive one million dollars.”

Where’s the Outrage? COVID Masks Are Piling Up In the Ocean

There once was a time when leftists at least pretended to care about the environment. Remember the brouhaha over how plastic straws were going to destroy the planet and we had to replace them with those crappy paper straws that literally melt in your mouth? You know, for the sea turtles, or something? . . .

“A year ago, the idea that disposable face masks, gloves, and wipes could become global environmental pollutants was not a pressing concern. Personal protective equipment, PPE for short, was seen as essential for preventing the spread of COVID-19. No one imagined just how much of it would be needed, for so long. Then production exploded—and now the litter is inescapable. . .

A separate study reports that 3.4 billion face masks or face shields are discarded every day. Asia is projected to throw away 1.8 billion face masks daily, the highest quantity of any continent globally. China, with the world’s largest population (1.4 billion) discards nearly 702 million face masks daily.

All may be called disposable, because they’re cheap enough to be used once and then thrown away. But here’s the hitch: They don’t actually go away.”

Top Doc: Feds Demonizing COVID-19 Treatments in Order To Promote Vaccine

“Something has gone off the rails” in the world’s approach to the novel coronavirus pandemic, with health authorities in the U.S. and abroad suppressing safe, cheap and effective treatments while promoting experimental vaccines that have received only emergency use authorization, contends Dr. Peter McCullough.

McCullough, a renowned cardiologist who testified to the U.S. Senate last fall on COVID-19 treatments, pointed out in a lengthy interview with Tucker Carlson’s Fox Nation show “Tucker Carlson Today” that the National Institutes of Health issued a guideline recommending physicians not treat COVID-19 until a patient needs oxygen.

“This document will go down in history as the most nihilistic medical guidance as Americans are suffering,” said McCullough, the vice chief of internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Asked to explain why such guidance would be issued, McCullough said it could be “fear driven,” but it’s not in his “moral DNA” to “let people die with no treatment.”

Around the world, physicians are finding success using treatments such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, but there is no regulatory support in the United States for treating COVID-19 at all, as there would be for any other disease, he said.
