WATCH: Chaos Erupts on the Senate Floor Over Police Funding Bill

Things got fiery on Capitol Hill today after a heated showdown broke out in the Senate over a police funding bill. What started as a standard discussion turned into a full-on meltdown from one senator, Cory Booker, who ranted about the country sliding toward authoritarianism and accused his own party of being too weak to lead.

The senator blasted his colleagues, saying they “deserve to lose the midterms” if they can’t stand united. It wasn’t a policy debate as much as a performance — complete with finger-pointing, emotional appeals, and a laundry list of grievances that had little to do with the bill at hand.

The drama escalated when Sen. Amy Klobuchar stepped in, pointing out that the Judiciary Committee had already passed the bill unanimously. “I can’t help it if someone couldn’t change their schedule to be there,” Klobuchar shot back, calling for consistency from lawmakers who praise law enforcement during Police Week but stall legislation when the cameras are off.

The unnamed senator, clearly fired up, lashed out in response, invoking personal tragedy to make his point. “I don’t need lectures about the urgency of this,” he said, recounting how one of his childhood friends — a police officer — died by suicide after a hard day’s work. “Don’t imply this isn’t vital to me or my state.”

The exchange left many questioning what’s really going on within the Democratic Party. The blow-up over a routine police funding bill highlights the lack of leadership, clear messaging, and unity as November’s elections draw near.

Meanwhile, late-night talk shows — often cited by these same politicians — are being canceled due to plummeting ratings and massive losses. And the free speech issues these senators love to lecture about? College campuses are becoming hotspots of antisemitism instead of open debate.

Report: Democrat Staffer Arrested for Carrying Gun on Capitol Grounds as Senator Began All Night Speech

If Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) hopes his all-night theatrics on Monday will be remembered, thanks to one of his staff members, they will be.

Booker’s staff member, Kevin A. Batts, was arrested Monday evening for carrying a pistol on Capitol grounds moments before Booker began an all-night speech on the Senate floor protesting President Donald Trump’s America First agenda, NOTUS reported.

A NOTUS reporter witnessed the staffer, Kevin A. Batts, being arrested Monday at 6:29 p.m. Eastern as Booker prepared to begin his speech around 7:00. “He was handcuffed and placed in the backseat of a [U.S. Capitol Police (USCP)] vehicle outside the Senate-side of the Capitol,” according to that report.

USCP confirmed the arrest Tuesday while Booker spoke on the Senate floor.

“Yesterday afternoon a Member of Congress led an IDed staff member around security screening at the Hart Senate Office Building,” USCP said in a statement. “Later that evening, outside the Senate Galleries, the IDed staff member — who is a retired law enforcement officer — told our officers he was armed.” (Read more from “Report: Democrat Staffer Arrested for Carrying Gun on Capitol Grounds as Senator Began All Night Speech” HERE)

Another Dem Just Dropped out of 2020 (VIDEO)

New Jersey senator Cory Booker has ended his bid for the White House, ahead of tomorrow’s Democratic Debate which he failed to qualify for.

Booker’s departure from the crowded race was ultimately due to a lack of ability to fundraise; the New Jersey native never truly saw momentum and ultimately failed to differentiate himself within the field of presidential hopefuls. Booker never broke 5 percent in a national poll.

Throughout the campaign, Booker tried to distinguish himself as a qualified minority candidate, but hardly gained steam. After former Obama Administration HUD Secretary Julián Castro exited the race, also due to a lack of fundraising, Booker attempted to gain a last-minute fundraising haul, citing minority candidates being left out of the race[.]

2020 Dems at War: Here’s Why Joe Biden Wants Cory Booker to Apologize

Former Vice President Joe Biden told reporters on Wednesday that he was not going to apologize for invoking his ability decades ago to work with two segregationist southern senators to “get things done.”

A Fox News camera was rolling when Biden was asked if he was going to apologize for his remarks. The 2020 Democrat hopeful answered, “Apologize for what?”

Biden faced scorching criticism Wednesday from his primary rivals including two of the three black candidates running for the White House — Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kamala Harris of California – who raised serious concerns after Biden highlighted his ability to work with the segregationist senators. . .

“Cory should apologize,” Biden said in response on Wednesday. “He knows better. Not a racist bone in my body. I’ve been involved in civil rights my whole career. Period. Period. Period.” . . .

[Booker] added, “I know that I was raised to speak truth to power and that I will never apologize for doing that. Vice President Biden shouldn’t need this lesson and at a time when we have from the highest office in the land divisiveness, racial hatred and bigotry being spewed he should have the sensitivity to know that this is a time I need to be an ally, I need to be a healer, I need not engage in usage of words that will harm folks. And so, this is deeply disappointing.” (Read more from “2020 Dems at War: Here’s Why Joe Biden Wants Cory Booker to Apologize” HERE)

2020 Dem Compares Border Security to Holocaust

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) appeared to suggest over the weekend that spending money on border security was like rejecting Jewish refugees during the Holocaust.

Booker made the comments in Iowa while appearing on the Political Party Live podcast on Saturday where he spoke on a wide variety of issues.

“Do you know how much billions of dollars we’ve done to increase the numbers of Customs and Border Patrol agents, of people involved in immigration…” Booker began.

Booker continued by saying that it was important to know history and that President Donald Trump was trying to make people afraid of people coming across the southern border who have “brown skin.”

“As much as he wants to make us afraid of people trying to come here escaping terror, not remembering like when we turned around other immigrants trying to escape terror,” Booker continued. “There was a ship that came here during World War II with a bunch of folks trying to escape the Holocaust and we turned it around where they got killed in the Holocaust.” (Read more from “2020 Dem Compares Border Security to Holocaust” HERE)

2020 Dem Has an Idea Prepared to Make Abortion Permanent in U.S.

In light of Alabama’s recent decision to make abortion almost entirely illegal, 2020 democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Book (D-NJ) proposes making Roe v. Wade a permanent part of the law by having Congress draft legislation.

Before Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed the bill into law, Booker took to Twitter to reiterate his position:

“The injustices we’re seeing in Alabama right now with this legislation, it’s important that all of us understand that this is a threat to women’s freedoms and women’s rights all over our country, not just there,” he said.

“Right now I am calling for it [a bill to make abortion permanently legal], even though obviously with Mitch McConnell and a [majority Republican] Senate we would not see a vote” should it be introduced.

“We need to pass it through the House and Senate, and I look forward to signing that law when I become president,” he added. (Read more from “2020 Dem Has an Idea Prepared to Make Abortion Permanent in U.S.” HERE)

2020 Isn’t Looking Good for Booker

By AP. Cory Booker’s early fundraising numbers are well behind those posted by other major Democratic candidates in the race to challenge President Donald Trump.

The New Jersey senator, who campaigned Sunday in New Hampshire, said he raised over $5 million in the two months since he entered the 2020 primary, and has over $6.1 million cash on hand.

Booker announced the figure in an email to supporters. The sum puts him near the back of the pack in fundraising with roughly 10 months left before the start of Democratic primary voting. Of those candidates that have announced their figures, only entrepreneur Andrew Yang announced raising less than Booker. (Read more from “2020 Isn’t Looking Good for Booker” HERE)

Beto O’Rourke Pulled in a Massive Fundraising Haul — and 2020 Competitors Are Noticing

By Vox. Beto O’Rourke raised more money than any other Democratic presidential candidate in the first 24 hours after announcing his 2020 bid — but he didn’t have as many donors as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) did.

The Texas Democrat announced Monday that his campaign pulled in $6.1 million in online donations in the 24 hours after his announcement. O’Rourke told supporters in New Hampshire Wednesday that the haul came from 128,000 unique contributors at an average donation of $47 a person, CNN reported. By comparison, Sanders’s (I-VT) presidential campaign said it raised $5.9 million from more than 223,000 donors in the first 24 hours, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) raised $1.5 million in that time.

The first Federal Elections Commission official quarterly campaign finance filings won’t be public until April. Until then we can’t have a full picture of Democrats’ 2020 fundraising efforts.

But the other Democrats in the race have definitely noticed O’Rourke’s ability to raise money. With more than a dozen candidates in the Democratic presidential primary already, these early fundraising numbers remain one measure of frontrunner status. Cory Booker Says the Earth ‘Can’t Sustain’ People Eating Meat. Liz Cheney Fires off Meat-Eaters’ Response in One Tweet.

On Tuesday, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) had a pointed response to Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), who is a vegetarian and was quoted saying that the earth “can’t sustain” people eating meat. Cheney tweeted, “Hey @CoryBooker I support PETA – People Eating Tasty Animals. @BeefUSA#WyomingBeefCountry.”

As The Daily Wire reported, Booker had spoken to VegNews about his belief that ”industrially produced animal agriculture” was having a deleterious environmental impact on the earth. VegNews reported:

While claiming he does not want to lecture Americans on their diets, Booker says Americans need to be nudged into fake cheese because the planet cannot sustain the “environmental impact” of the food industry. “You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet,” Booker said. “We’ve seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry.”

. . .

Booker co-introduced the Green New Deal, which had its own problems with cows. He stated:

Climate change is a pressing and serious environmental and economic crisis that threatens the way of life for our kids and grandkids. This challenge must be met with a commitment from the federal government that is commensurate with the level of commitment we saw in this country during the original New Deal. And that’s exactly the type of determination this proposal brings. Communities of color, low income communities, indigenous communities and our family farmers are on the front lines of climate change, and I’m particularly encouraged that this blueprint addresses climate change in a way that promotes both economic and environmental justice.”

Dem, Who Groped High School Friend Without Her Consent, Is Running for President

Well, mark this under not shocking. Those close to Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said they were told by him that he was running for president. This was expected. The New Jersey Democrat planned to make it official during Black History Month, which starts today. This morning, as Leah noted, Booker formally announced that he was running. So, here’s to you, roamin’ hands Spartacus…I’ll get to that in a second. Yesterday, there was a lot of buzz that news of Bookers’ 2020 run would be coming soon (via The Hill):

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) on Thursday began calling members of Congress informing them he is running for president and is quietly making overtures to members for support, three congressional sources told The Hill.

“Yes, he is reaching out to members for their support,” said a former Democratic aide with direct knowledge of Booker’s intentions. “He’s going to do it during Black History Month,” which starts on Friday.

Now, Bernie Sanders is looking to mount another White House run, but he’s being criticized for how his 2016 campaign operated concerning the human resources department. It was reportedly a den of sexism and sexual harassment. For Booker, well, he straight up admitted to groping a high school friend without her consent. He detailed it in his school’s newspaper.

This story was unearthed during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings, where Democrats put on a great show of theatrics, smearing a qualified candidate for no other reason other than they didn’t like Kavanaugh or Trump for nominating him. It was a character assassination, but in the end, Kavanaugh persisted. (Read more from “Dem, Who Groped High School Friend Without Her Consent, Is Running for President” HERE)

Cory Booker Admits Something Shocking About the Accusations Against Kavanaugh

In a bizarre statement Tuesday, Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) appeared to state that it didn’t really matter to Democrats if Brett Kavanaugh were guilty or innocent. . .

Booker said in a statement to the media Tuesday that it didn’t matter whether Kavanaugh was guilty or innocent because he has shown himself to not be worthy of the “sacred institution” of the Supreme Court.

“So my hope that beyond the vicious partisan rancor that is going on,” Booker said, “beyond the accusations, we don’t lose sight of what this moral moment is about in this country and ultimately ask ourselves the question is this the right person to sit on the highest court in the land for a lifetime appointment.”

“When their credibility has been challenged by intimates, people who knew the candidate well as a classmate,” he continued. “When his temperament has been revealed in an emotional moment where he used language that frankly shocked a lot of us.”

Booker referred to the statement Kavanaugh made in defense of his character where he said that the false allegations were revenge for his role in the Ken Starr probe that led to Bill Clinton’s impeachment.
