Fail: Democrats Tweet Out Pic of Wrong Flag for Flag Day Celebration

Yesterday was Flag Day, a celebration of the United States flag. Flag Day has been observed in some capacity since 1885, and has been a designated federal holiday on June 14 of each year since 1949.

Secret Tax Could Collapse Dollar

FATCA, a massive tax increase passed by the Democrat majority that controlled the House and Senate back in 2010 is set to go into effect July 1, 2014.

FATCA, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act could actually collapse the U.S. dollar after it goes into effect. Talk about unintended consequences. Read more about how FATCA will have devastating effects on Americans here.

Obama is declaring economic war on the rest of the world through this tax increase and yet most Americans have never heard of it.

FATCA was so ill conceived that if it goes into effect as planned, it could lead to the end of our way of life in America. Americans could wake up to find that the money in their bank account is suddenly worthless and devalued to the point where they could not buy anything with it.

There is a good chance that the House Majority will vote to repeal FATCA if Americans raise their voices against it. Many Democrats are starting to back away from this act as well, because they do not want a tax increase to go into effect right before the elections.

Dem Rep Compares Taliban to Soldiers in American Revolution

Photo Credit: isafmediaA Democratic congressman offered a curious analogy on Monday to explain why the U.S. is dealing with the Taliban — apparently comparing them to soldiers in the American Revolution.

According to sources, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., made the comparison during a House briefing late Monday with administration officials on the trade of Taliban members for American Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

Nadler apparently made the point that the Taliban, as non-state actors, have a status similar to that of American soldiers who fought the British during the Revolutionary War.

This comparison, Fox News is told, was met with a lot of groaning by other lawmakers.

‘I’ve Had Enough’: When Democrats Quit on Obama

Photo Credit: GettyThe email hit my in-box at 9:41 p.m. last Wednesday. From one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, a close adviser to the White House, the missive amounted to an electronic eye roll. “Even I have had enough.”

Another Democrat had quit on President Obama.

The tipping point for this person was the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl case—not the soldier-for-Taliban swap itself as much as how the White House mishandled its obligation to communicate effectively and honestly to Congress and the public. More than that, Obama’s team had failed once again to acknowledge its mistakes, preferring to cast blame and seek cover behind talking points.

“DC is hard, and depressing,” the Democrat wrote. “I still believe good comes from government (e.g. 8 million in ACA). But that Politico story is a cautionary one: good reminder that you can’t go so in the bunker [and] no longer identify legitimate criticism.” That day, Politico had posted a story channeling the White House communications team’s response to the Bergdahl backlash.

Referring to Barack Obama’s “wait and see” statement last week on the growing VA scandal as a “breaking point,” CNN’s John King said Sunday that in addition to Republican criticism, even Democrats are now calling Obama incompetent and detached.

“More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary.

And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing, calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent.”

Dem Congressman: ‘We’ve Proved That Communism Works’

Joe Garcia — fresh off being caught eating his own earwax on camera — was caught red-handed (or is it yellow-fingered?) in another gaffe this week, claiming that low crime rates in border cities with lots of federal immigration workers is proof that “Communism works.”

Garcia made the comment during a Google hangout he convened last week to talk about comprehensive immigration reform with supporters. The Democrat attempted to point out how, for all their talk about limited government, many Republicans are fine spending loads of government money on border security.

“Let me give you an example, the kind of money we’ve poured in,” he said. “So the most dangerous — sorry, the safest city in America is El Paso, Texas. It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the Americas, which is Juarez. Right?”

“And two of the safest cities in America, two of them are on the border with Mexico,” Garcia continued. “And of course, the reason is we’ve proved that Communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there’s no crime.”

“But that isn’t what we should be doing on the border,” he continued. “The kind of money we’ve poured into it, and we’re having diminishing returns.”

Ben Shapiro: The VA Scandal Proves That Democrats’ Approach To Healthcare Doesn’t Work

President Obama himself is “madder than hell” about the cooked and secret waiting lists, some of which may have led to the deaths of dozens of veterans and delayed care to many more.

In a column Thursday at Truth Revolt, Ben Shapiro writes that many Democrats and left-wing pundits actually lauded the V.A. as their model of a single-payer, government run healthcare system that could replace America’s current healthcare system.

Among those who idolized the V.A., Nobel Prize Winning economist and commentator, Paul Krugman:

Multiple surveys have found the VHA providing better care than most Americans receive, even as the agency has held cost increases well below those facing Medicare and private insurers…the VHA is an integrated system, which provides health care as well as paying for it.

The Democrats’ Free-Speech Hypocrisy

Last week, the war on the First Amendment entered a new phase when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced his support for S.J. Res. 19, a proposed constitutional amendment designed to “advance the fundamental principle of political equality for all, and to protect the integrity of the legislative and electoral processes.” The intent of the proposed amendment is to empower the Congress and the States to limit all categories of campaign-related spending and contributions and overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United, which held independent political expenditures by businesses and unions alike to be protected by the First Amendment.

In plain English that’s called censorship. It’s also called hypocrisy, as many of the proposed amendment’s supporters—and most of its likely opponents—take a situational stance on the First Amendment.

More often than not, politicians think free speech is a fine thing so long as you agree with them. What do I mean? Well, in 2006 the then-Republican-controlled Senate failed by a single vote to move forward a proposed constitutional amendment that would have given Congress the legal authority to ban flag “desecration.” Fortunately, the Constitution mandates that a proposed amendment obtain the backing of two-thirds of both the House and Senate before it can be sent to the States for ratification, and the flag-burning amendment garnered only 66 of the 67 votes it needed.

But here’s the thing. Back then, many of the same folks who would stifle free speech if it comes in the form of money—but not in kind, as in the form of a favorable New York Times editorial—had no problem saying that it was constitutionally OK to put Old Glory to the test by putting it to the torch. The roster of Senate Democrats suffering from First Amendment schizophrenia includes former constitutional law professor and Senator Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and senior Senate Democrats Barbara Boxer, Tom Harkin, Barbara Mikulski, Patty Murray, Chuck Schumer, and Ron Wyden—who rightly took the position that free speech should not be diluted in the name of some greater good, hurt feelings, or offended sensibilities…

So when Democrats decry money in politics are they really being serious, or are they just posturing? One thing’s for certain, money isn’t leaving politics anytime soon. As long as government is around, and politicians need their palms greased, money will be there as well. Meanwhile, Democrats and Republicans alike will drape themselves in the Constitution and the flag, except when it gets in their way.
