Keystone Pipeline Underscores Democrats’ Vulnerability In 2016

Photo Credit: Irish CentralThe Keystone pipeline is a policy manifestation of the administration’s political dilemma. Obama is trying to retain supporters on the left while attempting to hold enough in the center to keep Democrats competitive in November’s midterm elections.

The White House’s Keystone decision delay is not surprising. Until it can solve its political dilemma, policy problems such as the Canada-to-Texas pipeline will have to wait.

The Keystone pipeline question is simple. Ultimately, the oil will be extracted from Canada, and it’s not a matter of if.

Keystone’s question is only to what extent America will benefit economically from the refining.

Yet the Obama administration has been struggling with it for five years. The president has struggled so long over Keystone because the politics are as difficult as the question of its building is straightforward.

Michelle Bachmann Battles Wasserman Schultz Over Benghazi: ‘Democrats Have Tried To Sabotage This Process’ (+video)

Minnesota Republican congresswoman Michelle Bachmann sparred with Florida Democratic congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz over the new congressional committee to investigate Benghazi — with Wasserman Schultz claiming Republicans are “clearly doing this to drive their turnout” and Bachmann accusing Democrats of trying “to sabotage this process.”

The two congresswomen appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley to discuss the ongoing investigation into the Obama administration’s response to the September 2012 Benghazi attacks.

Wasserman Schultz was entirely certain that there’s nothing left to investigate. “Republicans are clearly doing this to drive their turnout –”

“Candy, that is not true at all,” Bachmann interjected.

“Excuse me, Michelle, I didn’t interrupt you,” Wasserman Schultz replied. “So I’d appreciate if you didn’t interrupt me.”

Democrats, We’ve Seen Your Future: It’s Time to Start Packing

donkeyYou’ve had a good run of it in Congress, Democrats.

Racking up $7.7 trillion in debt since 2007. Overseeing the worst GDP growth in modern American history. Presiding over systemic long-term unemployment. A labor participation rate at levels unseen since 1978 – now nearly 93 million no longer in the market for a job.

Piling up a giant welfare state on top of shoulders fortunate enough to still be working. And of course, adding the cherry on top with a government takeover of healthcare – Obamacare.

The latest Pew-USA Today poll shows the Democrats’ blatant disregard for fiscal sanity and their continual use of epithets in lieu of arguments are not registering well with those who intend to vote in the 2014 mid-term election.

Via Business Insider:

The Republican Party is at its strongest point in two decades heading into midterm elections, according to a new Pew Research-USA Today poll, the latest daunting sign for Democrats ahead of campaign season.

Obama’s Economy Helps Democrats, Says Wasserman Schultz

The Obama economy will help Democrats in the November election, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schulz told reporters Wednesday.

“No question the economic issues are an advantage for Democrats,” Wasserman Schultz, head of the Democratic National Committee, said at a May 7 breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

The GOP’s attempts to repeal Obamacare, and its support for the budget plan drafted by Rep. Paul Ryan, show “Republicans are focused on making sure a select few are able to do even better,” she said.

But she latter admitted that her constituents are unhappy with President Obama’s economy, even as she spun the admission to highlight Democrats’ spending plans. Voters, she said, “are asking about investing in education, focusing on continuing to create jobs, on making housing more affordable, the bread and butter kitchen table issues that will add to the confidence that Americans have that this economy is continuing to improve.”

“There is certainly room for improvement” in the economy, she acknowledged, as she downplayed a river of bad economic news about income, the middle-class, the widening wealth gap, more use of foreign workers, and the rising number of people who have lost hope for economic change.

Florida Democrats Just Voted To Impose Sharia Law On Women

Florida Democrats have declared war on women; but fortunately, their attack on our freedoms was turned back by Republicans who represented America and voted against them.

Anyone who isn’t certain that Democrats are devoted to destroying America need only take a look at their despicable conduct in the Florida Senate. In a vote that never should have had to be taken, every single Democrat voted to force Sharia Law on the people of Florida. By doing so, they placed women and children in very real danger. The vote was 24 votes for America and 14 votes for al Qaeda and the Taliban cast by loathsome Democrats. They voted to deny Americans the Constitutional protections generations of American men and women fought for and died to protect. Democrats have revealed their desire to force Americans to live as slaves to a third world, foreign “justice system.”

Since the liars in the Democrat–controlled media won’t describe what these quislings have tried to force on Americans, here is an outline of the horrors of Sharia Law.

There would be no freedom of religion because Sharia supports only Islam.

There would be no freedom of speech.

Despicable: Wisconsin Dem Candidate to Hand Out KKK Hoods at GOP Convention

Wisconsin state representative and gubernatorial candidate Brett Husley will be handing out KKK hoods at a GOP state convention this weekend. When you’re a Democrat and don’t have any policy solutions, yelling “racism” will still get many in your party out to the polls.

From National Review:

A Democratic Wisconsin state representative and gubernatorial candidate is apparently trying to project a repugnant part of his party’s history on to Republicans by handing out Ku Klux Klan hoods to GOP supporters. Representative Brett Husley of Madison said he will give out what he calls “Republican Party hats” to state convention goers this weekend.

Both Republicans and Democrats have denounced Husley’s stunt. “We take serious issue with the policies pursued by Republicans that disproportionately affect communities of color, but this type of behavior has no place in the public dialogue,” state Democratic chairman said. His Republican counterpart called Husley’s plans “a reprehensible, vile stunt.”

‘Ridiculous’: Administration Punts On Keystone, Obama Faces Dem Revolt

By Fox News.

The Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend it is extending a key review period indefinitely — a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections.

Republicans, as well as red-state Democrats who want the proposed Canada-to-Texas pipeline approved, slammed the administration for the delay. Democrats even threatened to find ways to go around the president to get the project approved.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous that this well over five year long process is continuing for an undetermined amount of time,” Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., said in a statement.

Republican Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry called the decision “shameful,” noting that another spring construction season will come and go without the project.

The administration had been in the middle of a 90-day review period for federal agencies assessing an environmental study from the State Department.

Democrats Really Don’t Want You To See Who Is Winning This ‘Money in Politics’ Race

A rallying cry you’ll often hear among the political left is, “get money out of politics.” You can see this in the strategy of the month for Democrats, which involves Harry Reid doing little more than breathlessly smearing the GOP with absurd exaggerations like “the GOP is bought and paid for by the Koch Brothers.”

Since 2014 is a Congressional election year, let’s take a look at the current races and see just exactly who is raising more money and pandering to the the “evil rich.”

Dems ‘Race’ To The Bottom

Conservative pundit Laura Ingraham on Tuesday ripped House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Rep. Steve Israel, calling their recent comments on racism in the GOP “reprehensible” and a “race to the bottom.”

“Steve Israel is reprehensible in what he said. Nancy Pelosi, throw her into the ring. And I say this is the race to the bottom,” Ingraham said on Fox News’s “Fox and Friends.”

Her criticism follows Israel’s remarks on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, in which the New York congressman said “not all” of his GOP colleagues in the House are racist. Similarly, Pelosi accused Republicans for not bringing up an immigration bill because of race.

5 Democratic Senators Facing Uphill Battles for Reelection

With Congressional elections growing closer, some Senators will be facing a more difficult road to reelection than others. Incumbency is often an advantage, but after the year we’ve had, some will be struggling to get the votes they need. Democrats historically have struggled in midterm elections, something President Barack Obama pointed out in early March, reminding Democrats in Congress of how much they have riding on the election. In the Democratic party, there are five that stand out more than the rest as having their work cut out for them. Let’s take a look at the specific political challenges headed for to this group.

1. Senator Mark Begich (D-Alaska)

Senator Begich is likely feeling especially blue in his red state this year, with increasing pressure from Republicans hoping to exploit voters’ frustration with President Obama and Congress’ inactivity as a whole. He said, according to The Washington Post, that he doesn’t “care to have [Obama] campaign for” him. As a result, Begich — like many other Democrats — is putting some distance between himself, his party, and the Obama administration. His ad campaigns use rhetoric like “standing up to the Washington Bureaucracy,” and “Begich has fought to cut wasteful spending and government red tape,” revealing the extent to which frustration with Congress is influencing many Democrats’ campaign strategies. His ads also focus on his father, his family history in the state, oil drilling successes, and anti-Koch brother sentiment.
