One Of DC’s Biggest Neocons Just Got Toppled — What Really Happened?

When Republican Ohio Rep. Mike Turner was unceremoniously ousted as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) just ahead of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, reports claimed that Trump had ordered Speaker Mike Johnson to orchestrate the shakeup. However, sources close to the decision-making process explained to the Daily Caller the real reasons behind Johnson giving Turner the boot.

In early January, Tablet Magazine published a piece that said Turner was boasting that he would be “taking over Trump’s IC [Intelligence Community]” by trying to get his staff director, Adam Howard, hired as the National Security Council’s senior director for intelligence. Tablet reported that Howard “is meant to be [Turner’s] instrument” in the position. Turner and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz both disputed the idea that Turner was influencing staffing decisions at the NSC.

“No one’s making personnel decisions outside of President Trump and his transition team. I mean, that’s it,” Waltz said in an exclusive interview with the Caller.

Regardless of its veracity, sources familiar with Turner’s ousting told the Caller that the report is still among a range of factors that influenced Turner’s removal from the top post on the Intelligence committee. However, these sources explained, Turner would have likely still have been pushed out even if the Tablet report had never dropped.

With Johnson being reelected speaker of the new Congress, he has the opportunity to choose his own chairs for select committees, like HPSCI, without input from the steering committee. One of the biggest factors for Turner’s dismissal was the view of most of the Republican conference that Turner is “in bed with the intelligence community,” the Caller’s sources explained. Turner was considered to be more aligned with former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and, although Johnson and Turner got along personally, Johnson was looking for change. John Bolton Stripped of Secret Service Detail After Being Stripped of Security Clearance

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton was stripped of his Secret Service detail on the same day that President Donald Trump stripped him of his security clearance, according to several reports.

CNN reported that Bolton had confirmed that “within hours” of Trump taking office, the president terminated the Secret Service detail that had been assigned to Bolton.

Several sources also informed CBS News that the decision to terminate Bolton’s Secret Service detail had been made “in the past 24 hours.”

In a statement on X, Bolton expressed that he was “disappointed but not surprised that President Trump” had terminated his Secret Service detail. Bolton added that despite his “criticisms” of former President Joe Biden’s national security policies, Biden “made the decision to extend” Bolton’s Secret Service detail protection.

“I am disappointed but not surprised that President Trump has decided to terminate the protection previously provided by the United States Secret Service,” Bolton wrote. “Notwithstanding my criticisms of President Biden’s national-security policies, he nonetheless made the decision to extend that protection to me in 2021.”

Trump Yanks Security Clearances of Intel Officials Who Spread Disinformation About Hunter Biden’s Laptop

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday night revoking the security clearances of 51 former intelligence officials who falsely claimed emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop were Russian “disinformation” to help Joe Biden’s 2020 election prospects. The directive also pulls the security clearance of John Bolton, who served as national security advisor in Trump’s first term.

“To remedy these abuses of the public trust, this Order directs the revocation of any active or current security clearances held by: (i) the former intelligence officials who engaged in misleading and inappropriate political coordination with the 2020 Biden presidential campaign; and (ii) John R. Bolton,” the order reads.

The infamous Oct. 19, 2020, letter included signatures from dozens of former intel officials who baselessly contended the emails from Hunter’s laptop that were reported by the New York Post weeks before the 2020 contest bore “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” Biden then weaponized the phony statement during his Oct. 22, 2020, debate against Trump to dispel the latter’s criticisms of the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

Former CIA Directors John Brennan and Leon Panetta and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper were among those to sign the letter.

Under Monday’s edict, the directors of National Intelligence and the CIA are ordered to submit a report within 90 days to Trump that includes “any additional inappropriate activity that occurred within the Intelligence Community, by anyone contracted by the Intelligence Community or by anyone who held a security clearance, related to the letter signed by the 51 former intelligence officials.” (Read more from “Trump Yanks Security Clearances of Intel Officials Who Spread Disinformation About Hunter Biden’s Laptop” HERE)

Trump Takes Oath Without Hand on Bible Sparking Claims He’s the Antichrist & Other Lunacy

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts flubbed Barack Obama’s oath of office some years ago.

He rearranged the words of the oath, moving “faithfully” to a place out of order, so Obama’s oath was not the correct version from the Constitution.

The two of them got together later in the day and “fixed” it by having Obama say the right words, in the right order.

Today Roberts was part of another flub, this time involving President Donald Trump.

He apparently rushed the oath, not allowing Melania Trump to approach the two and offer a Bible on which the president could his hand.

So Trump swore the oath without his hand in that position, which is not required by the Constitution.

Trump Terminates Biden’s CBP One App, Marking a Strong Start to Illegal Immigration Crackdown

President Donald Trump wasted no time on Monday, immediately terminating the previous administration’s Customs and Border Protection app that ushered thousands of illegal aliens into the United States.

The Biden administration’s CBP One mobile app allowed 1,450 foreign nationals per day to schedule an appointment at a port of entry to make an asylum claim. . .

“Creating programs to allow thousands of people in this country a week that we don’t properly vet and that we know don’t qualify is not the answer,” he stated.

Immediately following Trump’s inauguration on Monday afternoon, the CBP website released an update regarding its mobile app.

Trump Faces First Lawsuit Over Move to Limit Birthright Citizenship

Immigration groups came out swinging against President Trump on Monday with a lawsuit asking a federal judge to overturn his executive order blocking illegal immigrants and other temporary visitors from obtaining birthright citizenship for their babies born on U.S. soil.

The groups said Mr. Trump is “flouting the Constitution’s dictates” by trying to limit who is covered by the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of automatic citizenship.

“Neither the Constitution nor any federal statute confers any authority on the president to redefine American citizenship,” the groups said in their lawsuit, led by the American Civil Liberties Union and filed in federal district court in New Hampshire.

At issue is the 14th Amendment, which reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Mr. Trump, as part of his flurry of Day One executive actions, said illegal immigrants and those here on legal but temporary passes don’t qualify as “subject to the jurisdiction.” Therefore, he said, the federal government can refuse to recognize children born to them as citizens. President Donald Trump became the second commander-in-chief ever to serve two non-consecutive terms on Monday. He was sworn in for a second time following two failed assassination attempts and an unprecedented campaign to imprison him. . .

Trump said he had been “tested and challenged” more than any of his predecessors. He also slammed the “vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization” of the Justice Department, which has been wielded to prosecute the Democrat-dominated Washington regime’s chief dissidents, including the re-elected president himself.

“Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom, and indeed, to take my life,” Trump said, recalling being shot in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally last summer. “I felt then, and believe even more so now, that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.” . . .

After capturing the White House for a second time with a platform promoting strict immigration enforcement, Trump indicated the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border was a top priority when outlining the first executive orders of his new administration. . .

Trump characterized the record-setting inflation to plague the nation under the Biden administration as a self-inflicted crisis that can be addressed by harnessing America’s energy resources.

Senate Passes Laken Riley Act After Trump’s Inauguration

The U.S. Senate voted Monday to pass the Laken Riley Act, just hours after President Donald Trump was sworn in.

The bill would require federal immigration authorities to detain illegal migrants who commit theft-related crimes in the U.S. The legislation would also allow states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm caused to their residents because of illegal immigration.

The bill passed in a 64-35 vote. Only 12 Democrats voted in favor of the bill. . .

The Laken Riley Act ended up passing the House in a 264-159 vote with every Republican voting in favor of it. 48 Democrats ended up voting in favor of the bill.

Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, was convicted in November of killing Riley, 22. He was arrested by University of Georgia police. (Read more from “Senate Passes Laken Riley Act After Trump’s Inauguration” HERE)

Trump Vows ‘America’s Decline Is Over,’ Ushers in ‘Revolution of Common Sense’ in 2nd Inaugural Address

President Trump called Monday “liberation day” for the US, vowing in a rousing inaugural speech that “the golden age of America begins right now” — before giving two more lengthy addresses and holding an impromptu Oval Office news conference where he answered more questions than former President Joe Biden likely ever did in a single setting.

The 47th president — roundly repudiating the Biden administration’s legacy and “many years” of a “radical and corrupt establishment’’ — promised to bring about a “revolution of common sense” in his remarks kicking off a day of festivities due to end with a trio of balls and a performance by rapper Nelly.

“From this moment on, America’s decline is over,” Trump, 78, told the packed crowd gathered inside the Capitol Rotunda for a pared-down event because of the dangerously cold weather outside.

“There’s no nation like our nation. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs and pioneers. The spirit of the frontier is written into our hearts,’’ Trump told the 600-person audience filled with a who’s who of the nation’s top political and business leaders.

“Our American ancestors … won the Wild West, ended slavery, rescued millions from tyranny, lifted millions from poverty, harnessed electricity, split the atom, launched mankind into the heavens and put the universe of human knowledge into the palm of the human hand,’’ he said. Trump, Melania Take the Stage to Massive Ovation for Commander in Chief Ball, Share Dance as They Celebrate Inauguration

President Trump entered the Commander-in-Chief ball with first lady Melania Trump to a thunderous ovation as the inaugural events continued late into the night on Monday.

The 54-year-old first lady dazzled the crowd as she walked out in a striking black-and-white strapless gown, white high-heeled shoes and black choker with an elegant broach resembling a floral bouquet affixed to it.

The dress was reportedly designed by Hervé Pierre, the same couturier behind Melania’s 2017 Inauguration ball dress.

Trump, wearing a black tuxedo and bow tie, promptly began dancing with his wife at the event aimed at military service members.

The first couple was later joined on stage by Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance, as well as members of the nation’s armed forces, with whom they took time to waltz with as well.
