Leftist Judge Won’t Recuse Herself From Trump J6 Case

United States District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on Wednesday refused to recuse herself from overseeing the federal case former against President Donald Trump over his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Trump’s attorneys earlier this month filed a motion for Chutkan to recuse herself based on comments she has made at sentencing hearings for multiple January 6 defendants.

For example, Chutkan described the Capitol riot as “an attempt to violently overthrow the government, the legally, lawfully, peacefully elected government by individuals who were mad that their guy lost” during Christine Priola’s October 2022 sentencing.

Chutkan claimed those inside the Capitol did so out of “blind loyalty to one person who, by the way, remains free to this day.”

“The public meaning of this statement is inescapable — President Trump is free, but should not be,” Trump’s attorneys argued in their recusal motion. “As an apparent prejudgment of guilt, these comments are disqualifying standing alone.”

Christie Goes After Trump: If You Keep Skipping Debates, ‘We’re Gonna Call You Donald Duck’ (VIDEO)

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie criticized former President Donald Trump during the second Republican Party primary debate on Wednesday night.

Christie made the remarks at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

“And I want to look at camera right now tell you, Donald, I know you’re watching,” Christie said. “You can’t help yourself. I know you’re watching, okay? And you’re not here tonight — not because of polls and not because of your indictments — you’re not here tonight because you’re afraid of being on the stage and defending your record.”

“You’re ducking these things,” he continued. “And let me tell you what’s going to happen. You keep doing that, no one up here is gonna call you Donald Trump anymore. We’re gonna call you Donald Duck.”

Experts’ Republican Debate Verdict: Trump ‘Still in Driver’s Seat’ After Simi Valley ‘Circus’

Another Republican debate without 2024 frontrunner and former President Donald Trump meant another debate with candidates fighting for second place, The Post’s experts agreed Wednesday.

“They all have trouble because of Trump,” said former Sen. Alfonse D’Amato. “Trump was smart by not going. The debate was a circus. Nobody really scored on him.”

“Without Trump there, it’s really like the seven dwarfs are missing their hero,” agreed Democratic consultant Chris Coffey. “No clear win is a win for Trump, which may be a win for Biden.”

“No impact on President Trump’s nomination,” concurred E. O’Brien Murray, a campaign strategist for Republicans and conservative Democrats. “Too many GOP candidates divide the vote.”

By Mediaite. Former President Donald Trump defended the honor of his “friend,” Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), at a rally in Graham’s home state on Monday by touting the senator’s popularity with Democrats.

“Another man who’s always there, he’s always — I’ll tell you what. When I need help on the left, he’s great. He’s great, and he’s my friend, too. Lindsey Graham, wherever you are. Lindsey?” began Trump to a cacophony of boos at a campaign rally in Summerville, South Carolina.

“Oh no, no!” shouted Trump back at the crowd. “He helps me on the left. We need help sometimes. Republicans shouldn’t need help on the left, but he helps me.”

Graham has long been reviled by the base of the Republican Party for some of his moderate positions, most notably on immigration. The longtime legislator ran a longshot bid for the presidency in 2016 and made headlines with his unsparing critiques of Trump at the time, calling him a “race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.”

Trump Calms Rally Crowd After Graham Mention Gets Boos

By The Hill. Former President Trump defended ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Monday after Trump’s shoutout to the South Carolina Republican during his rally in the state prompted boos from the crowd. . .

It’s not the first time Graham’s name has prompted boos from a Trump crowd. During a Trump rally in Pickens, S.C., in July, the senator was called a “traitor” and received boos from attendees. In April, a New Hampshire crowd booed the mention of Graham’s name during a Trump event in which the former president referred to the South Carolina Republican as “progressive.”

Ongoing Feud: Howard Stern Hits Back at Donald Trump Over ‘Woke’ Flap

Howard Stern said former President Donald Trump “got charged up” by seeing him “discussed on all his conservative media” after the shock jock declared last week that he was proud to be “woke.”

“My thought was — What?” Stern said on his SiriusXM show Monday in response to Trump’s social media post denouncing his former friend as a “broken weirdo.”

“Imagine you got to be the 45th president of the United States and you’re sitting and writing about Howard Stern,” the radio host said Monday.

Stern’s comments were reported by the news site Mediaite.

‘Demolish the Deep State’: Trump Says It’s Him or the End of America in 2024

Former President Donald Trump declared 2024 the “final battle” against an array of forces ailing the United States.

Doubling down on a previous pronouncement, Trump raised the rhetorical stakes to the highest degree possible, going so far as to declare that a defeat in 2024 would mean the end of the country. The 2024 presidential election will be nothing less than the “final battle” for the U.S., Trump told his audience at a campaign event in Iowa.

The former president declared that 2024 “is our final battle. With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the warmongers from our government. They want to go to war with everybody. We will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the communist Marxists and fascists, and we will throw off the sick political class that truly hates our country. We will route the fake news media. We will defeat crooked Joe Biden, and we will end illegal immigration once and for all, just as we had it three years ago.”

“The great silent majority is rising like never before,” he continued. “And under our leadership, the forgotten man and woman will be forgotten no longer with your help, your love, and your vote. Trump’s Eligibility for 2024 Ballot Headed to U.S. Supreme Court?

The Supreme Court could have the final word on the validity of 14th Amendment arguments for removing Trump from the 2024 ballot, legal experts on both sides of the debate told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Since the left-leaning group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed its lawsuit seeking to remove Trump from the ballot in Colorado on Sept. 6, cases have been filed in Minnesota, Oklahoma and New Mexico, among other states. With these and other efforts underway, legal experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Supreme Court will likely have to settle whether Trump should be removed from the ballot under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, which bars certain government officials who took an oath to the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection” from holding office.

“If a Secretary of State disqualifies Trump from the ballot, then Trump and his campaign will have standing to sue and if the lower courts rule against Trump, then the case will most certainly end up in the Supreme Court on an appeal,” Heritage Foundation senior legal fellow Hans von Spakovsky told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “For a number of constitutional and procedural reasons, the Court is almost certain to rule in Trump’s favor.”

In Maryland, Secretary of State Susan Lee expressed that she would consider removing Trump’s name from the ballot, according to The Daily Record. The Office of the Secretary of State is responsible for determining which names appear on the presidential ballot in Maryland. Trump Lawyer Jenna Ellis Turns on ‘Malignant Narcissist’ Ex-President

Jenna Ellis, one of Donald Trump’s former election lawyers, is now saying publicly she will not support the former president, calling him a “malignant narcissist” who can’t admit mistakes.

“I simply can’t support him for elected office again,” Ellis said Thursday on her American Family Radio broadcast.

“Why I have chosen to distance is because of that frankly malignant narcissistic tendency to simply say that he’s never done anything wrong.”

Ellis herself, like Trump, faces criminal charges concerning attempted election subversion in the 2020 presidential race.

She was discussing the former commander in chief with fellow host Steve Deace, who noted: “Before that man [Trump] needs to be president again … [to] escape the quote-unquote, ‘witch-hunts’, that man needs Jesus again because … his ambitions would be fueled by showing some self-awareness. Trump Vows to Review Cases of Biden’s ‘Political Prisoners’ Who Were Targeted for Their Pro-Life Beliefs (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden’s hate of conservatives is stronger than ever, causing former President Trump to promise Republicans he will fight tooth and nail for them.

Over the weekend, Trump announced that if elected in 2024, he will create a special task force specifically designed to review cases of Biden’s “political prisoners.”

During the Family Research Council’s “Pray, Vote, Stand Summit” in Washington, D.C., Trump vowed to get innocent Americans out of jail for standing up for their beliefs while criminals run rampant.

“I am announcing that the moment I win the election, I will appoint a special task force to rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner who has been unjustly persecuted by the Biden administration,” Trump said.

Trump: ‘It Was My Decision’ to Buy Into Idea That 2020 Election Was Rigged — ‘Didn’t Respect’ Aides Who Told Him He Lost

Donald Trump on Sunday said it was “my decision” to believe that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” — saying he didn’t respect the aides and lawyers who’d told him he’d lost.

The former president, 77, was asked by NBC’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” why he opted to ignore his “most senior lawyers” and campaign staffers about the election results.

“Because I didn’t respect them,” Trump replied.

Welker later asked the Republican frontrunner in the presidential primary whether he was “calling the shots … ultimately?”
