Hurricane Ian Slams Into Florida as Powerful Category 4 Hurricane

Hurricane Ian slammed into southwest Florida as a powerful Category 4 hurricane Wednesday afternoon after more than 2 million Floridians were given evacuation orders.

With 150 mph winds, Hurricane Ian is tied for the 4th strongest hurricane to ever hit the state, according to meteorologist Philip Klotzbach.

The National Hurricane Center said that the hurricane was moving north-northeast at approximately 9 mph and is expected to slow down and turn northeast on Thursday. Hiding behind the horror of 9/11, the Biden administration demands that a federal judge and the country trust its targeting of a top political opponent—all while leaking details of classified documents to a pliant press.

This development and six others flow from recent court filings in former President Donald Trump’s efforts to obtain a special master’s oversight of the FBI’s seizure of thousands of documents and personal effects from his Mar-a-Lago home. The government doesn’t want to allow an independent review of the documents it’s seized. Trump’s legal team does. . .

The argument and analysis presented in the government’s motion reveals another reality: The Biden administration intends to pursue a criminal case against Trump, likely before the 2022 midterms. After the first wave of shock over the raid of the former president’s home passed, the conversation quickly turned to the end goal. Would the government be content with retrieving the documents, or was the government intent on indicting Trump? . . .

In seeking to expedite its criminal investigation and in opposing the special master, the Biden administration relies heavily on its claims that the documents marked classified put the country at grave risk. This concerns not merely the documents Trump declassified, but that other documents, such as the former president’s travel itinerary, lose any top-secret nature with time.

The Biden administration clearly wants Americans to believe the documents Trump had at Mar-a-Lago represent serious threats to our national security, as evidenced not merely by the court filings but by the many leaks to the press. Disney Employees Among Those Caught in Human-Trafficking Investigation

Nearly 160 people were arrested on charges following weeks long under cover human trafficking sting in Florida.

The large investigation, known as Fall Haul 2, authorities found Disney employees and local teachers to be among the group of people who were caught.

A Florida sheriff said that his department “always” caught Disney workers during undercover investigations. Disney bellhop Guillermo Perez was arrested after trying to have sex with an undercover detective for $80, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Now, where would we be with an undercover operation and no Disney employees?” Sheriff Grady Judd said, adding “Oh yes, we always have Disney employees.”

Conservative State Will Bar Medicaid Coverage for Gender Reassignment Surgeries, Hormones

Florida will prohibit Medicaid coverage for various gender reassignment measures such as surgeries, puberty blockers, hormones, hormone antagonists, and procedures that would change primary or secondary sex characteristics.

The rule, which marks a blow against radical leftist gender ideology, will go into effect later this month on August 21.

“Throughout this process ⁦@AHCA_FL [Florida Agency for Health Care Administration] has remained committed to following the evidence in the treatment of gender dysphoria, rather than the eminence of a medical society or association. Our focus will always be on paving the way for a healthier Florida,” tweeted Brock Juarez, communications director for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

Media reports discussing the state’s move used the term “gender-affirming” to refer to the gender transition measures that will not be covered by Florida Medicaid. A Politico headline read, “Florida bans Medicaid from covering gender-affirming treatments,” while a Washington Post headline declared, “Florida to bar Medicaid coverage for those seeking gender-affirming care.”

By Breitbart. Senior U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) officials are blaming FBI Director Christopher Wray for the recent raid of former President Donald Trump’s home in an apparent attempt to take pressure off U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

After Trump confirmed the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago on Monday, many Republican politicians called on both Wray and Garland to explain the justification for the raid.

For example, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said, “Merrick Garland, Chris Wray, come to the House Judiciary Committee this Friday and answer our questions about this action today, which has never happened in American history.”

Similarly, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) called out the DOJ’s “intolerable state of weaponized politicization” and told Garland to “preserve your documents and clear your calendar” as he pledged an investigation into the FBI raid if the Republicans take control of the House after November’s midterms.

Trump Says DOJ, FBI Asked Him to Put Lock on Door Leading to Documents in Early June

By Daily Wire. Former President Trump on Wednesday claimed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI had asked his legal team in early June to put an extra lock on the door to the room where boxes of documents reportedly marked as classified were stored.

Trump contended in a statement on Truth Social the feds saw the boxes at his home at Mar-a-Lago in Florida two months before Monday’s dramatic raid. If true, the claim could call into question why the government agents would need to use such heavy-handed tactics to seize documents they knew about.

“They were shown the secured area, and the boxes themselves,” Trump wrote. “Then on Monday, without notification or warning, an army of agents broke into Mar-a-Lago, went to the same storage area, and ripped open the lock that they had asked to be installed. A surprise attack, POLITICS, and all the while our Country is going to HELL!”

Trump was at his Manhattan home in Trump Tower at the time of the raid. FBI agents reportedly examined all offices and his safe at his Mar-a-Lago private residence before removing the boxes and taking them to their local South Florida FBI field office. Judge Who OK’d Mar-A-Lago Raid Obama Donor Once Linked to Jeffrey Epstein

The Florida federal magistrate judge who signed off on a search warrant authorizing the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort donated to Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign — months after he left the local US Attorney’s office to rep employees of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein who had received immunity in the long-running sex-trafficking investigation of the financier.

Sources tell The Post that Judge Bruce Reinhart approved the warrant that enabled federal agents to converge on the palatial South Florida estate on Monday in what Trump called an “unannounced raid on my home.”

Reinhart was elevated to magistrate judge in March 2018 after 10 years in private practice. That November, the Miami Herald reported that he had represented several of Epstein’s employees — including, by Reinhart’s own admission to the outlet, Epstein’s pilots; his scheduler, Sarah Kellen; and Nadia Marcinkova, who Epstein once reportedly described as his “Yugoslavian sex slave.”

Kellen and Marcinkova were among Epstein’s lieutenants who were granted immunity as part of a controversial 2007 deal with federal prosecutors that allowed the pervert to plead guilty to state charges rather than federal crimes. Epstein wound up serving just 13 months in county jail and was granted work release.

According to the Herald, which cited court documents, Reinhart resigned from the South Florida US Attorney’s Office effective on New Year’s Day 2008 and went to work for Epstein’s cohorts the following day. The FBI searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate as part of an investigation into whether he took classified records from the White House to his Florida residence, people familiar with the matter said Monday. Trump disclosed the action in a lengthy statement, asserting that agents had broken into his safe in a search he decried as evidence of “dark times for our nation.”

The search, which the FBI and Justice Department did not immediately confirm, marks a dramatic escalation in law enforcement scrutiny of Trump and comes amid a separate but intensifying probe into efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

After former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida was raided by FBI agents, Republicans are slamming the Biden administration and accusing the Department of Justice of “political weaponization,” while Democrats are lauding the agency for holding Trump accountable for “wrongdoing.”

“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves,” said Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”

Multiple sources tell Fox News the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago is related to the materials Trump allegedly brought to his private residence after his presidency concluded. That matter was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration, which said it found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.

Shock Raid of Former President’s Home; Trump: ’Democrats Who Desperately Don’t Want Me to Run for President in 2024’

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump’s Florida home, Mar-A-Lago, was raided by FBI agents, Trump announced in a statement on Monday.

“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar- A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.”

Trump noted his previous cooperation with law enforcement and called the FBI raid of his home “prosecutorial misconduct.” Trump also said it is an example of “the weaponization of the Justice System who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024.”

Trump continued:

After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections. Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries, Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.

DA Suspended By DeSantis Quoted The Bible To Justify Charging Christian Pastor

Andrew Warren, the Florida State Attorney suspended by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, quoted a passage of the Bible in March 2020 to justify his support for charging a pastor who held church services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a press conference in 2020, the Hillsborough County attorney read a passage from Mark 12:31 to justify an arrest warrant issued against Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne for holding two church services at the River at Tampa Bay County Church.

“[To] put parishioners at risk in a time of an emergency like this is not only reckless, but it’s illegal,” Warren said during the press conference. “But where people are refusing to obey law enforcement in this regard, you risk being arrested and prosecuted. I’d like to note that [I] think it’s unfortunate that the pastor here is hiding behind the First Amendment. One, it’s absolutely clear that emergency orders like this are constitutional and valid.”

“Lastly, I’d remind the good pastor of Mark 12:31, which says there’s ‘no more important command than to love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Loving your neighbors is protecting them, not jeopardizing their health by exposing them to this deadly virus,” Warren continued. Dems Poised to Pull Free Lunches From Christian School That Refuses to Obey LGBT Mandates

The Biden administration is poised to deny free school lunch funding from a Florida Christian school that refuses to comply with the administration’s LGBT mandates, despite the school’s qualification for a religious exemption.

Grant Park Christian Academy in Tampa, Fla., represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, is suing President Joe Biden and Florida agriculture commissioner Nikki Fried for enforcing the Biden administration requirement that schools comply with its LGBT mandates or lose federal school lunch funding.

In May, the Biden administration redefined the meaning of “sex” in Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity, forcing schools to permit transgender students to use male or female bathrooms and play sports with either sex in order to receive National School Lunch Program funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. More than half of state attorneys general rejected the memorandum, with Florida attorney general Ashley Moody saying the Biden administration was “using hungry children to advance a political agenda,” the Washington Free Beacon reported. Disney Signs Letter in Support of Federal Law for Homosexual Marriage

Disney has signed a letter in support of a federal law to protect same-sex marriages after taking a drubbing this year over its response to Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law.

The Mouse House signed an open letter spearheaded by the Human Rights Campaign, urging the Senate to pass the Respect for Marriage Act, which has already passed the House.

The bill seeks to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act passed in 1996, which barred the federal government from acknowledging same-gender couples married under state law and didn’t require states to legally respect same-sex marriages performed in other states.

The Supreme Court’s 2013 ruling in US v. Windsor struck down DOMA and allowed for LGBTQ marriage. But recent statements made by Justice Clarence Thomas in his opinion that overturned Roe v. Wade suggested that the court might be looking to overturn rulings like Windsor.
