Newsom Attacks Trump (VIDEO)

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) claimed Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that President-elect Donald Trump was politicizing wildfires in Southern California.

Reporter Jacob Soboroff asked, “President-elect Trump has blamed you for this crisis. He’s called you incompetent. What’s your response?”

Newsom said, “Well, I called for him to come out, take a look for himself. We want to do it in the spirit of an open hand, not a closed fist. He’s the president-elect. I respect the office. We have a president of the United States that within 36 hours provided a major disaster declaration over a text. We had support from the President of the United States, Joe Biden, with 100% reimbursement, all the resources you could hope for, imagine, constant communication. I’d like to extend that to the president-elect. I don’t know what he’s referring to when he talks about the Delta smelt in reservoirs. The reservoirs are completely full, the state reservoirs here in Southern California. That mis- and disinformation I don’t think advantages or aids any of us. Responding to Donald Trump’s insults, we would spend another month. I’m very familiar with them. Every elected official that he disagrees with is very familiar with them.”

He continued, “That was not a state system reservoir that the President-elect was referring to as it relates to the Delta and somehow connecting the Delta smelt with the fire which is inexcusable because it’s inaccurate also incomprehensible to anyone who understands water policy in the state.” (Read more from “Newsom Attacks Trump (VIDEO)” HERE)

While California Burns, Gavin Newsom Begs Biden to Silence ‘Disinformation’

Wildfires, fueled by strong winds, are destroying Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is begging President Joe Biden to silence “hurricane-force winds of mis- and disinformation.”

“It breaks my heart as people are suffering and struggling that we’re up against those hurricane force, forces as well,” Newsom said on Friday in a video call with Biden. “I ask you, we’ve got to deal with this misinformation.”

Never mind the actual winds that swept wildfires from the perimeter of Los Angeles to destroy suburban neighborhoods. Still, Newsom expressed concern that “misinformation” could harm Californians.

“It infects real people that are out there,” Newsom told the president. “And they’re having conversations that are not the typical conversations you’d have at this time.”

Newsom apparently finds it unusual that people would discuss the possibility that government actions may have contributed to the spread of the wildfire when flames are engulfing their homes and livelihoods. Joe Biden at Press Briefing on LA Fires: ‘The Good News Is, I’m a Great-Grandfather!’

President Joe Biden took the time to announce some personal “good news” to reporters during an awkward press briefing with California Gov. Gavin Newsom on the Los Angeles wildfires, saying, “I’m a great-grandfather!”

While standing next to Newsom to update the nation on the status of the multiple devastating fires that began on Tuesday evening, Biden made a sudden pivot to an announcement about his family:

“The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today,” the 82-year-old president said during the briefing, held at a firehouse in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County.

“I’ll remember this day for a lot of reasons,” he added, before leaving without answering any questions from reporters.

Trump Rages at ‘Gavin Newscum’ for Ordering Homeless Encampments Cleared Following Supreme Court Decision

Former President Donald Trump raged at California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) on Thursday after news broke that the Democrat issued an executive order for state agencies to begin clearing homeless encampments across his state.

Trump shared a local news clip on the order and captioned it by writing, “Why didn’t Gavin Newscum do this a long time ago? He’s only doing it because, just like Crooked Joe Biden, his Radical Left Democrat Presidential Candidate, Lyin’ Kamala Harris, is losing BIG in the Polls. They just did it for Political Reasons, because she comes from California, and looks terrible. Right after the Election, it will go back to SLUM LIKE condition, unless we WIN — THEN, AMERICA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN!”

. . .

Newsom has long been accused of allowing California’s homelessness problem to grow into a crisis that has caused alarm in major cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Newsom released a video clip saying he doesn’t “believe there is anything more urgent or frustrating than addressing the issue of homeless encampments.” (Read more from “Trump Rages at ‘Gavin Newscum’ for Ordering Homeless Encampments Cleared Following Supreme Court Decision” HERE)

Gavin Newsom Blames Conservatives, Right-Wing Media For Noticing California’s Dysfunction On His Watch

Video footage shows California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom appearing to blame Republicans and conservative media for the state’s failures during his “State of the State” address on Tuesday.

While addressing the state, Newsom discussed the problems facing residents living in areas governed by Democrats. “You hear wall-to-wall, right-wing media coverage about lawless blue cities and blue states,” he said, according to video footage circulating on social media. “In fact, California’s violent crime rate is about half of what it was in the 1990s.”

The governor continued, claiming that California’s “values and our way of life are the antidote to the poisonous populism on the right and the fear and anxiety that so many people are feeling today.”

Panera Bread Exempt From California’s $20 Minimum Wage Law After Owner Donated to Gov. Newsom: Report

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law that exempts Panera Bread from a new $20-an-hour minimum wage hike for fast food chains after the billionaire owner of several of the chain’s locations donated to his campaign, according to a report.

In September, Newsom, a Democrat, signed into law a measure that raises the minimum wage of food fast workers from $16 an hour to $20 an hour.

But the Fast Food Accountability and Standards Recovery Act (FAST Act) includes an unusual carve-out that exempts “chains that bake bread and sell it as a standalone item,” according to Bloomberg News.

Newsom reportedly sought the exemption, which benefits among others Greg Flynn, the billionaire CEO of Flynn Restaurant Group, the company that owns some two dozen Panera Bread locations in the state.

Flynn, who attended the same high school as Newsom, has been involved in business dealings with the California governor, according to Bloomberg News. (Read more from “Panera Bread Exempt From California’s $20 Minimum Wage Law After Owner Donated to Gov. Newsom: Report” HERE)

Dem Governor Praises Nikki Haley for Helping Democrats Make the Case Against Trump

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has become one of the “better surrogates” for Democrats in 2024, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday.

Haley, who is Donald Trump’s last remaining GOP primary rival, has attacked the former president throughout the race, arguing that the 77-year-old is too old to serve another term White House and warning that his “chaos” will hurt Republican chances at the ballot boxes in November.

“I think she’s one of our better surrogates, so I hope she stays in [the GOP primary race],” Newsom, 56, told CNN host Jake Tapper, arguing that her criticisms of the former president are “spot on.”

“I hope she does well tomorrow — at least, well enough,” the Golden State governor added, referring to Saturday’s South Carolina GOP primary, where Haley – the state’s former governor – trails Trump by more than 23 points, according to a RealClearPolitics average of polls.

“I’m enjoying this primary. And I hope it continues, so I wish her luck,” Newsom added. (Read more from “Dem Governor Praises Nikki Haley for Helping Democrats Make the Case Against Trump” HERE)

Gavin Newsom Recalls How Target Clerk Blamed Him for California Retail Theft — Before Realizing Who He Was

Gavin Newsom revealed Wednesday that he once witnessed a shoplifter steal from Target without any interference from workers, one of whom blamed the California governor for emboldened criminals in the state before she realized who he actually was.

The Golden State leader recalled the awkward interaction at the start of a Zoom forum about a mental health proposition he’s backing, and as California continues to deal with a retail theft crisis, the Mercury News reported.

Newsom said he was on the Target checkout line when he and a store worker saw the thief waltz out of the store with items he didn’t pay for, according to footage posted online.

“I said, ‘why didn’t you stop him,’” Newsom said. “She goes, ‘oh, the governor.’ Swear to God, true story on my mom’s grave. ‘The governor lowered the threshold, there’s no accountability.’ I said that’s just not true.”

Newsom then said he told the clerk, who still apparently didn’t know who he was, that California’s Prop. 47 makes it a felony for property thefts totaling $950 or higher – the 10th toughest in the nation.
