This State Enacted a Gay Conversion Therapy Ban for Young People

rainbow-flag_0Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner on Thursday signed legislation banning therapists from trying to change a young person’s sexuality.

Under the new law, those under 18 years old can get counseling to discuss concerns or thoughts about their sexuality, but professionals licenses by the state may not try to change the minor’s orientation.

“These so-called ‘therapies’ treat homosexuality as a disease,” Evanston Democratic Sen. Daniel Biss said in a statement after Rauner signed the bill Biss sponsored with state Rep. Kelly Cassidy, a Chicago Democrat. “They’re out of date and can be deeply destructive to youth. Outlawing these practices is a small step in our pursuit for LGBT rights, but it’s an extremely important step in protecting young people in Illinois.”

Backers of the measure were unsure how Rauner, a first-term Republican who has kept his stance on several social issues private, would act. Rauner has refused to discuss his views on same-sex marriage.

After announcing the bill’s signing, spokeswoman Catherine Kelly said Rauner has no social agenda and believes the measure protects the children’s interests. (Read more from “This State Enacted a Gay Conversion Therapy Ban for Young People” HERE)

Poll: 31 Percent of Young Americans Are Not Completely Heterosexual

YoungAmerican(Editor’s note: this is likely a garbage poll, similar the scientifically vacuous work of child-molesting Alfred Kinsey, but it reflects how the left is attempting to convince society that pretty much everyone is a pervert) According to a new poll, 31 percent of Americans between the ages of 18-29 do not identify as exclusively heterosexual on the seven point “Kinsey Scale.”

The 0-6 scale, created by sex researcher Alfred Kinsey, has a range of sexual orientation from completely heterosexual (0) to completely homosexual (6).

The YouGov poll found that 78 percent of all Americans are totally heterosexual, but only 64 percent of people between the ages of 18-29 were.

When it comes to bisexuality, 24 percent of Americans, ages 30-44, claim to be on that scale, but only 8 percent (or less) of people over 45 years old would classify themselves that way. (Read more from “Poll: 31 Percent of Young Americans Are Not Completely Heterosexual” HERE)

Bakers Who Were Fined $135,000 for Gay Wedding Cake Refusal Deliver a Major Surprise — and a Powerful Message — to 10 Gay Rights Groups

IMG_4351-620x465Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of Sweetcakes by Melissa, were ordered by Oregon state officials last month to pay $135,000 in damages after they declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. Now, the bakers are sending a powerful message to gay rights groups.

The Kleins, who continue to defy a July 13 order from Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries, decided this week that they wanted to let gays and lesbians know that, despite ideological and theological differences, they love and care about them.

The husband and wife duo baked 10 cakes, packaged them up and drove to California, where they collaborated with Ray Comfort — the Christian leader who recently released “Audacity,” a movie about homosexuality — and mailed them out to gay rights groups on Wednesday . . .

The Kleins drove down to meet Comfort in California, where they shipped the cakes along with a letter, a $25 gift card and a copy of “Audacity” with each package . . .

“We wanted to have the cake represent freedom — that we all should have freedom and to live our lives the way we want to,” she said, noting that she believes gays and lesbians should be free to live as they choose. “But I also feel like I should have the right to live the way I want to, and that should be my choice.” (Read more from “Bakers Who Were Fined $135,000 for Gay Wedding Cake Refusal Deliver a Major Surprise — and a Powerful Message — to 10 Gay Rights Groups” HERE)

Measure Introduced to Compel Anchorage Christians to Violate Conscience, Serve, Hire, Work for Cross-Dressers, Homosexuals

anchorage_rainbowAnchorage Assemblyman Bill Evans has introduced a measure to force Christian landlords, business owners and others with religious objections to homosexuality and/or other sexual disorders, to violate conscience in their business practices.

Evans, who somehow won the endorsement of the Alaska Family Council’s political arm (Alaska Family Action) in his last election, issued the following press release:

On Thursday, Anchorage Assemblyman Bill Evans filed with the Anchorage Municipal Clerk’s Office a new ordinance that would add sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected categories under the Municipality’s equal rights law.

The goal of the ordinance, according to Evans, is to provide a balanced approach that respects the rights of everyone affected by this
issue.

“The ability of every person in society to be judged based upon their skill, accomplishments, and talents, and not because of some immutable characteristics, is a result we should encourage. At a time when we need more citizens to be productive income generators, we cannot tolerate impediments to employment that are not based on actual performance,” stated Evans, a longtime employment attorney and former two-time Chairman of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.

Evans claims that religious liberty is protected by an exemption he drafted but his proposed language is exceptionally narrow and would fail to protect that vast majority of traditional Christians who have strong religious convictions about homosexuality and gender identity issues.

Upon hearing about Evans’ proposal, one Anchorage conservative activist bluntly emailed, “War has begun.”

Activists are rightly concerned, given Mayor Berkowitz’s unequivocal support for “anything goes” sexuality. That support, along with the liberal votes on the Anchorage Assembly, almost ensure passage of Evan’s measure.

Tennessee Lesbian Couple Faked Hate Crime and Destroyed Own Home With Arson for This

arson6n-2-web[Editor’s note: the story about Craig James follows below] By Nicole Hensley. A lesbian couple faked a hate crime that left their home a pile of charred rubble at their Venore, Tenn., property in 2010, local reports said.

An insurance company caught on to the ruse months after the blaze and accused Carol Ann and Laura Stutte of perpetuating a hoax and blaming the fire on their neighbor, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

A federal jury ruled in favor of the insurance company’s belief that the couple spray-painted an anti-gay slur on their own garage to spin the fire as a hate crime based on their sexual orientation.

The homeowners intended to bank on an insurance claim of more than $276,000, American National and Casulty Company alleged in court documents obtained by the News Sentinel.

The target of their stunt was Janice Millsaps, a neighbor whom the Stuttes accused in news reports and a lawsuit of threatening to kill them and burn their house down. (Read more from “Tennessee Lesbian Couple Faked Hate Crime and Destroyed Own Home With Arson for This” HERE)

Sports Analyst Craig James Claims Religious Discrimination

Craig James Senate ImageBy Baptist Press Staff. College football analyst Craig James filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against Fox Sports, alleging he was fired from a broadcasting position because of his Christian belief that homosexuality is sinful.

“This case is much bigger than me,” James said in a public statement from Liberty Institute, the Christian legal organization representing him. “It affects every person who holds religious beliefs. I will not let Fox Sports trample my religious liberty.

“Today, many people have lost their jobs because of their faith. Sadly, countless are afraid to let their bosses know they even have a faith. This is America, and I intend to make sure Fox Sports knows they aren’t above the law.”

After being hired by Fox Sports Southwest in 2013, James, a former NFL running back, worked one game and then was fired. A redacted copy of the lawsuit posted online by Liberty Institute states, “When James asked, defendants identified one—and only one—reason for terminating James: his beliefs about marriage, which are explicitly religious in nature” . . .

In response to James’ firing, a Fox Sports spokesman told the Dallas Morning News in 2013: “We just asked ourselves how Craig’s statements (about homosexuality) would play in our human resources department. He couldn’t say those things here.” (Read more from this story HERE)

This University Offers Six Choices for Gender Identity

The University of California admissions department believes students can be whatever they want to be.

At least when it comes to their gender.

Admission applications used by the UC system are giving potential students a host of choices for gender-related questions – including six varieties to describe “gender identity.” The questions, which will go into circulation this fall, are voluntarily answered and responses don’t impact the admissions process, a UC spokesperson told The College Fix.

Applicants can choose male, female, trans male/trans man, trans female/trans woman, gender queer/gender non-conforming and “different identity” to describe their “gender identity.”

By contrast, some of the other questions seem downright limiting in potential answers. For instance, “what sex were you assigned at birth” has only two choices: male or female. A question about sexual orientation features three possible responses: “heterosexual or straight,” “gay or lesbian” or fill-in-the-blank. After 105 Years, Boy Scouts Officially Lift Ban on Gay Leadership – With One Exception

As expected, the Boy Scouts of America lifted the ban on gay adult scoutmasters and assistant scoutmasters on Monday. The decision will allow gay and bi-sexual adults, both male and female, to volunteer in troops across the country.

Although the lift is expected to anger the more conservative scout base, the organization will still allow for individual troops to enforce their own rules regarding the admittance of scouts. In other words, troops that wish to exclude gay troop leaders may continue enforcing the ban.

The largest religious institution within the Boy Scouts – the Mormon Church – has expressed their desire to not leave the organization, as long as they are able to continue banning gay scouts and leaders. Likewise, the Catholic Church will continue to be involved with Scouting on the same condition.

James Dale, an Eagle Scout who in 1991 was excluded from serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster because he is gay, is not happy with the decision:

“This is not a bold measure… A bold measure would be ending discrimination.” (Read more from “After 105 Years, Boy Scouts Officially Lift Ban on Gay Leadership – With One Exception” HERE)

Uganda President to Obama: ‘Respect African Values’ – What Gays ‘Do Is Terrible’ [+video]

Like the way President Barack Obama was told by the president of Kenya this week that “gay rights is really a non-issue” and not accepted by Kenyans, Uganda’s president told Obama last year that, unlike in America, homosexual behavior is a “no-go” subject, “never supported by Ugandans,” and Obama should “respect African societies and their values.”

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni also explained that Ugandans – a country that is 84% Christian — reject the notion that unnatural behavior is a “human right,” and added that the behavior homosexuals engage in is “terrible.”

In Uganda it is against the law for a person to have “carnal knowledge against the order of nature,” i.e., homosexual behavior, and the guilty party can face a long prison term up to life imprisonment. After Uganda revised its anti-homosexual law in 2014, the U.S. State Department imposed sanctions against the country.

In a February 2014 interview, CNN’s Zain Verjee asked Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni about why the Ugandan state was acting against the “free choice” of some people.

President Museveni said, “I’m acting on behalf of the society. It’s not just the state, it is the society. And that’s why I would like to advise the Europeans and the Western groups that this is one area which should be a no-go area.” (Read more from “Uganda President to Obama: ‘Respect African Societies and Their Values’ – What Gays ‘Do Is Terrible'” HERE)

State Forbids Pastors Calling Homosexuals ‘Sinful’

The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements.

The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the basis of the April 4, 2014, DJJ Policy 912, which mandates full DJJ support of homosexuality and transvestism.

“With no evidence of any violation of DJJ policy on Mr. Wells’ part, his volunteer status was revoked by the Warren RJDC superintendent because he could not sign a state-mandated statement that homosexuality was not ‘sinful,’ among other things,” the letter said.

The policy states that DJJ staff, volunteers and others “shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.” (Read more from “State Forbids Pastors Calling Homosexuals ‘Sinful'” HERE)

Taxpayers Spend $3.5 Million to Find out Why Lesbians are Fat

A U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) study to understand why lesbians are fat has now cost taxpayers over $3.5 million to-date.

The study, “Sexual Orientation and Obesity: A Test of a Gendered Biopsychosocial Model,” seeks to determine why there is a disparity in the obesity rates between straight women and lesbian women and straight men and gay men.

According to the study, “It is now well-established that women of minority sexual orientation are disproportionately affected by the obesity epidemic, with nearly three-quarters of adult lesbians overweight or obese, compared to half of heterosexual women. In stark contrast, among men, heterosexual males have nearly double the risk of obesity compared to gay males.” (Read more from “Taxpayers Spend $3.5 Million to Find out Why Lesbians Are Fat” HERE)
