Here’s Nancy Pelosi’s Latest, LAMEST Defense of Ilhan Omar

The Democrats’ prolonged infighting about how to address anti-Semitic comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, is producing some pretty wild excuses from leaders who should know better.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was in full deflect-and-defend mode when asked by a reporter about the now-delayed resolution to address Omar’s recent comments. Pelosi said, “I don’t think this is just about comments by Congresswoman Omar, which I do not think were intentionally anti-Semitic.”

Apparently, despite the fact that Omar has faced repeated criticism for spouting off anti-Semitic tropes in the past, it was all … an accident? That goes beyond any kind of benefit of the doubt.

Then we also have the excuse offered by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., that Omar’s experience is “more personal” than that of descendants of holocaust survivors, which doesn’t at all explain why she espouses anti-Semitic views in the first place.

Omar is a 37-year-old freshman member of Congress, not some clueless freshman college student regurgitating her favorite professor’s talking points at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

Democratic leadership is already taking a lot of criticism for how they’re handing this situation. These unbelievably flimsy excuses just make them look worse. (For more from the author of “Here’s Nancy Pelosi’s Latest, LAMEST Defense of Ilhan Omar” please click HERE)

Dem Rep. Defends Rep. Omar’s Anti-Semitism by Elevating Her ‘Pain’ Above … Holocaust Descendants’

In one of the more bizarre, inept, and utterly insulting defenses of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., following her anti-Semitic comments, one Democratic leader said her life experiences are “more personal” than those of descendants of holocaust survivors.

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., said that Omar’s experiences of being a refugee from Somalia and having lived in a Kenyan refugee camp for four years should be factored into the discussion as context.

“I’m serious about that. There are people who tell me, ‘Well, my parents are Holocaust survivors.’ ‘My parents did this.’ It’s more personal with her,” Clyburn told The Hill in a story published Thursday morning. “I’ve talked to her, and I can tell you she is living through a lot of pain.”

Fleeing one’s home country and living in a refugee camp are not easy to go through, but is the House majority whip really suggesting that it’s an excuse for pushing anti-Semitic tropes and conspiracy theories about Jewish people? What, then, is the level of hardship that one has to experience in order to get a free pass on other forms of bigotry?

Jewish Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., responded to Clyburn’s comments on social media, calling them “disgusting” and saying that the whip was “spitting on graves, making light of the Holocaust & minimizing its massive importance/impact on victims’ families & the world.”

Following controversy over his remarks, Clyburn’s office put out a statement saying: “To recognize and honor the experiences of one member of our Caucus does not mean that we ignore or dishonor the experiences of another.”

Is the Watered-Down House Resolution Condemning Anti-Semitism Even a Reprimand of Ilhan Omar?

House Democrats have finally conceded to public pressure and are prepared to address the anti-Semitic remarks of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., in a resolution that doesn’t mention Omar by name.

The situation is reminiscent of when the House formally reprimanded Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, for a statement he made about white nationalism and white supremacy in a lengthy New York Times interview.

But there is a huge difference in how King and Omar have been treated by their own parties.

The reprimand aimed at Omar doesn’t even mention the freshman congresswoman by name. King’s did. But even that version wasn’t watered down enough for many Democrats, who also wanted the resolution changed to include other kids of religious bigotry, resulting in a big intraparty disagreement on Tuesday. Objectors got the vote pushed back a day.

There was no push inside the Republican party to expand the resolution condemning King to include anti-conservative bias on college campuses or on social media, and Republicans would have been mocked for entertaining such an idea.

Furthermore, whatever implied slap on the wrist Omar may get in this resolution, so far it looks like she’s going to keep her committee assignments in the aftermath.

Most people advocating for stronger reprimands against Omar have mainly focused on her slot on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, but not her spot on the House Education and Labor Committee. King lost all his assignments, including his spot on the Agriculture Committee.

Plus, the House Democrats, supposedly dedicated to government transparency, are still discussing whether or not to make their internal conference rules public. So it’s not publicly known how House Democratic leadership makes decisions about committee assignment and removal.

By contrast, under the rules of the House Republican Conference, decisions about committee assignments are ultimately up to the Republican Steering Committee. When King was stripped of his assignments in January, House GOP steering voted unanimously to do so.

Ultimately, regardless of how each party’s leadership makes committee decisions and recommendations internally, the speaker of the House has final authority to assign and remove House members to and from standing committees, per House rule 1, section 11.

That seems unlikely, given that the Democratic House Foreign Affairs chairman said that he won’t push to remove her from the committee. “I don’t know that that would do anything except exacerbate the situation even more,” Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., told CNN. “I’m looking to get rid of anti-Semitism, not looking to punish anybody.”

This is how House Democrats have chosen to respond to multiple high-profile anti-Semitic slurs coming from a single new House member in the first three months of her freshman session. Compare that with how Republicans responded to one statement in an hourlong interview by a longtime member of their conference just a few weeks earlier. After Jewish Dem Calls Her out, Omar Doubles Down on Anti-Semitic Accusation

Just two days after a top House Democrat condemned Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for her troubling history of anti-Semitism, the freshman lawmaker ignited controversy once again on Sunday when she appeared to accuse a Jewish congresswoman of wanting her to pledge allegiance to Israel.

Omar’s comments seemed to double down on her belief that pro-Israel lawmakers hold dual loyalty. Such accusations are exhausted anti-Semitic charges. . .

On Sunday, Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.), who is Jewish, called for Omar to “engage in further dialogue with the Jewish community” to understand why “anti-Semitic tropes that accuse Jews of dual loyalty” are offensive and considered racist. . .

She essentially doubled down on her charge that pro-Israel lawmakers have dual loyalty, adding that she believes she is being pressured to support Israel.

WATCH: Ilhan Omar Makes Most Blatant Anti-Semitic Remarks of Her Career

By Daily Wire. Embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made arguably the most anti-Semitic remarks of her career on Wednesday night during a town hall event in Washington, D.C., claiming that her “Jewish colleagues” have devised a plan to silence her and that pro-Israel groups are making politicians loyal to Israel. . .

Omar has been under intense scrutiny from forces across the political spectrum for promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and using anti-Semitic tropes, which earned her condemnation from her own party.

“But at an event last night, Omar went much farther,” NYMag reported. “After an audience member shouted out, ‘It’s all about the Benjamins,’ at which she smiled, she proceeded to state, ‘I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country.'”

“This is much worse. Accusing Jews of ‘allegiance to a foreign country’ is a historically classic way of delegitimizing their participation in the political system,” NYMag continued. “Whether or not the foreign policy agenda endorsed by American supporters of Israel is wise or humane, it is a legitimate expression of their political rights as American citizens. To believe in a strong American alliance with Israel (or Canada, or the United Kingdom, or any other country) is not the same thing as giving one’s allegiance to that country. Omar is directly invoking the hoary myth of dual loyalty, in which the Americanness of Jews is inherently suspect, and their political participation must be contingent upon proving their patriotism.”

In one exchange, Omar claimed without proof that her “Jewish colleagues” “designed” a plan “to end the debate” on Israel by accusing her of being anti-Semitic.

Oh, so This Is Why Ilhan Omar Fears Her Jewish Colleagues

By Townhall. The 2018 elections are over and crazy has been cranked up to 11 with the newest class of House Democrats. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has called on impeaching Trump, who she referred to as the “motherf**ker,” and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) who went off the rails against Elliot Abrams, Special Envoy to Venezuela, while also peddling anti-Semitic for years.

She also went off half-cocked with her conspiracy theory that the Trump White House is blackmailing Sen. Lindsey Graham(R-SC). Both women support the Boycott, Disinvestment, and Sanctions movement, which have long been accused of being anti-Semitic. And Omar has doled out anti-Semitism in her tweets, like saying Israel has hypnotized the world. And yet, she fears her Jewish colleagues of her criticism of Israel, being labeled ant-Semitic because she’s a Muslim. It’s not because you’re black or a Muslim, dear. It’s because you’re anti-Israel trash. . .

That’s why you’re being trashed, Omar—and rightfully so. Even Jewish leaders back in Minnesota are tired of her nonsense.

SERIOUSLY DISTURBING: Ilhan Omar’s District Is ‘Terrorist Recruitment Capital of the U.S.’

By Daily Wire. Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, represented by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D), is the terrorist recruitment capitol of the United States, according to FBI statistics.

FOX News reports that “more men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined – or attempted to join – a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country.”

“FBI stats show 45 Somalis left to join the ranks of either the Somalia-based Islamic insurgency al-Shabab, or the Iraq- and Syria-based ISIS combined,” Fox News continued. “And as of 2018, a dozen more had been arrested with the intention of leaving to support ISIS. Both numbers are far higher than those of alleged terrorist wannabes who left or attempted to leave the country from other areas in the country where Muslim refugees have been resettled.”

As FOX notes, “the insular ethnic community in Minnesota offers a rich recruiting ground” for Islamic terrorism as the Somali population in the Minneapolis community — which is located in Omar’s district — is nearly 100,000.

“We are very conscious that there may still be fertile ground for that, and that is could re-start at any time,” one federal official told Fox News. “Based on historical experience, we had (an uptick) in 2007 and 2008 going for al-Shabab, then a lull. Then, as ISIS came back, we saw a whole bunch of people no longer headed for Somalia. They were headed for Iraq and Syria. That really caught us off-guard, we didn’t see that coming. It didn’t make sense to us. We understood why kids were going back to Somalia, but going to Syria was another we issue.”

Ilhan Omar takes her turn in the spotlight

By The Guardian. This week, Omar was forced to apologize for comments that Democratic leaders said contained “antisemitic tropes and prejudicial accusations”. Days later, her intense grilling of Elliott Abrams, a Trump official and longtime establishment figure, sparked headlines once again. . .

Since her ascent to Congress, Omar’s positions on Israel, one of America’s closest allies, have stirred controversy for breaking with longstanding tradition in Washington.

Omar has backed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement, or BDS, which is designed to pressure Israel into ending the occupation of the West Bank. She has said she “almost chuckle[s]” when US politicians uphold Israel as a democratic example. But a recent tweet suggesting US support for Israel is motivated by political donations invited backlash from both parties. . .

On Friday, Omar gave her first interview since the controversy, telling her hometown newspaper, the Star-Tribune of Minneapolis: “I know what intolerance looks like.”

She added: “The thing that has been hurtful about this whole process for me is knowing that I could be someone who could use language that causes hurt to others.” (Read more from “Ilhan Omar takes her turn in the spotlight” HERE)

Omar Critics Note Her Hypocrisy After She Asks the Most Offensive Question Ever in a Congressional Hearing

What should America’s role be in Venezuela? It’s something Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Venezuela Envoy Elliott Abrams could not have been more at odds over at Wednesday’s House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.

Omar began her questioning of Abrams by noting his involvement in the 1980s Iran-Contra Affair. He was accused of withholding information at the time but was later pardoned by President George H. W. Bush. Given that context, Omar wondered why Americans should consider anything Abrams says as “truthful.” . . .

Omar noted how Abrams called U.S. policy in El Salvador a “fabulous achievement,” despite reports that U.S.-trained troops massacred 800 civilians and raped and killed a 12-year-old girl.

Abrams, not giving any credence to Omar’s narrative, said that from the day Rodrigo Duterte was elected, El Salvador has been a democracy and that yes, he considers that a fabulous achievement.

Then, Omar asked an unbelievably offensive question, “Yes or no, do you think that massacre was a fabulous achievement that happened under our watch?”

Money in Politics? Ilhan Omar Will Fly to LA for Fundraiser With… Terror-Tied CAIR

Newly elected Rep. Ilhan Omar will jet off to Los Angeles next month to keynote a fundraiser for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a terror-tied organization that was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist financing case in U.S. history.

On March 23, Omar will speak at CAIR-Los Angeles’ 4th Annual Valley Banquet, where tables will cost $500.

“CAIR-LA is honored to have Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as the featured speaker for the 4th Annual Valley Banquet,” reads a press release from the Los Angeles chapter of the group that was formed as a Hamas support network in the United States.

She will deliver her address alongside CAIR-Florida director Hassan Shibly, according to a CAIR flier promoting the event. Shibly is a dedicated Islamist and bigoted gay basher. A fan of radical clerics, he has routinely refused to categorize U.S.-designated terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations, according to the Clarion Project. Moreover, Shibly regularly takes to social media to demonize the U.S. military as equivalent to the jihadi terrorists that they are fighting.

The director of CAIR-Los Angeles is Hussam Ayloush, who, like many CAIR executives, has disturbing Islamist views. Following the tragic San Bernardino terrorist attacks, Ayloush suggested that the United States was “partly responsible” for the ISIS-led attack on innocents in California. “Let’s not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the West, have fueled that extremism,” he added. Ayloush has in the past described U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a campaign to instill “fear of the Muslims.”

The news comes on the heels of Rep. Omar’s controversial comments — that many on the Left and Right almost unanimously condemned as anti-Semitic tropes — about money in politics, in which she claimed that Jewish groups like AIPAC buy off politicians. Though AIPAC does not contribute to political campaigns, CAIR certainly does. Omar has received tens of thousands of dollars from CAIR and other political action committees. Additionally, CAIR held several fundraising events solely for the benefit of Omar’s congressional campaign.

CAIR’s fundraiser is just one of the controversial events lined up for Omar’s schedule. On February 23, she will speak at a fundraiser for Islamic Relief USA, the American branch of the terror-tied group Islamic Relief Worldwide. The Middle East Forum has discovered that she will be accompanied by a senior charity official who has often “expressed violently anti-Semitic ideas on his social-media accounts,” sometimes specifically calling for the murder of Jews. Islamic Relief has been banned by Israel and the UAE for allegedly funneling money to terrorist organizations. HSBC bank has also severed ties with the organization, cautioning that funds delivered to the group could end up in the war chests of terrorist organizations. Dems Turn on Anti-Semitic Ilhan Omar

House Republicans, as well as average Americans, want to see Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) stripped of her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The calls for her removal come after Omar made statements alleging lobbying group American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) of buying support for Israel. . .

Rep. Elliot Engel, the Committee Chair, released a statement but failed to address whether or not Omar was staying on the Committee.

“As I have said, as Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I will ensure support for Israel remains strong and bipartisan and I will shine a light on the evil of anti-Semitism and the danger it poses,” Engel said. “I will make the case to Members on both side of the aisle that our alliance and friendship with Israel are important to our countries’ shared interests, security, and values.”

A Change.org petition was started by Jacob Wohl, demanding Omar be removed. (Read more from “Dems Turn on Anti-Semitic Ilhan Omar” HERE)

Ilhan Omar Makes Stunning Admission About Her Anti-Semitism

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has come under fire for anti-Semitic comments in the past. During an interview with on “The Daily Show,” Omar explained how she never tried to be anti-Semitic but she understands how her comments could be deemed anti-Semitic. The most interesting aspect: Omar compares her being blind to her anti-Semitism to white people who don’t understand they have “white privilege.” . . .

1) If Omar was truly interested in learning how to change her ways and her thinking, she would come out and say, “I’m an anti-Semite but I don’t want to be. Can you please help me?” She would be upfront and honest about it. She wouldn’t be so wishy washy about where she stands. And she wouldn’t make an excuse for why she thinks the way she does.

2) Again, if she was truly interested in “overcoming her ways” she wouldn’t have taken so long to come to this realization. It wouldn’t have taken all of the public backlash she’s received.
