Ron Paul: Nation’s Hospitals ‘Under Siege’ in Immigration Crisis

Photo Credit: Caravanto MidnightBy Bill Hoffmann.

The ongoing crush of children illegally entering the United States has sparked a major health crisis at hospitals along the nation’s border, Ron Paul, a former Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate, tells Newsmax TV.

“Our hospitals have already been under siege by immigrants,” Paul, an obstetrician, said Wednesday on “The Steve Malzberg Show.’

“And with these thousands, tens of thousands, who knows how many [children] . . . you’re going to see some very serious health problems . . . We’ve already overburdened many hospitals.

“In the 19th century, when we had a massive influx of immigrants, we were still cautious about diseases . . . Today, under these conditions, it just is essentially impossible to do this.”

Paul added that it appears the Obama administration is more concerned with other borders around the world than with U.S. borders.

Outrage: TSA Allowing Illegals to Board Planes Without ID

Illegal aliens are being allowed to fly on commercial airliners without valid identification, according to the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC). “The aliens who are getting released on their own recognizance are being allowed to board and travel commercial airliners by simply showing their Notice to Appear forms,” NBPC’s Local 2455 Spokesman, Hector Garza, told Breitbart Texas.

“This is not the CBP [Customs and Border Protection] or another federal agency renting or leasing an aircraft, these are the same planes that the American public uses for domestic travel,” said Garza. “This just adds insult to injury. Not only are we releasing unknown illegal aliens onto American streets, but we are allowing them to travel commercially using paperwork that could easily be reproduced or manipulated on any home computer. The Notice to Appear form has no photo, anyone can make one and manipulate one. They do not have any security features, no watermark, nothing. They are simply printed on standard copy paper based on the information the illegal alien says is the truth.”

Spokesman Garza continued, “We do not know who these people are, we often have to solely rely on who they say they are, where they say they came from, and the history they say they have. We know nothing about most of them, ICE releases them into the American public, and now they are boarding aircraft at will with a simple paper document that anyone can easily alter or reproduce themselves.”

The shocking assertions by Garza were further validated by the national body of the NBPC. Breitbart Texas obtained an exclusive statement from the NBPC.

Border Agent: Why Hire Smuggler When Feds Do For Free?

By Breitbart.

Border Patrol agent Hector Garza stated in an interview on the Thursday broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” that the U.S. government is “completing the smuggling cycle” of unaccompanied minors into the United States, and asked “why would anyone want to hire a smuggler when the US government is actually doing it for free?” He stated that “we apprehend [unaccompanied minors] we process these illegals and then release them to their family members in the US we just completed that smuggling cycle.”

Photo Credit: APArmed militia sets up Texas command center to ‘fight for national sovereignty’

By Jessica Chasmar.

A militia has set up a command center south of San Antonio to prepare for what they say is a mission to protect the United States from the influx of illegal immigrants.

The militia, operating via the website PatriotsInformationHotline.com, founded by Barbie Rogers, said members at the command center in Von Ormy will deploy to Laredo first and spread to other parts of the border, a local ABC affiliate reported.

Chris Davis, the 37-year-old commander of the group, would not disclose how many members make up the militia, but said the troops would deploy “in a few weeks.”

“We have patriots all across this country who are willing to sacrifice their time, their monies, even quit their jobs to come down and fight for freedom, liberty and national sovereignty,” Mr. Davis told the station.

Photo Credit: John Moore / GettyMichelle Obama: ‘We Have To Keep Fighting As Hard As We Can On Immigration’

By CBSDC/AP.

The Latino community must use higher education as a tool of empowerment instead of waiting for Congress to fix a “broken” immigration system, Michelle Obama said in New York on Thursday.

The first lady spoke to about 1,500 people at the conference of the League of United Latin American Citizens at the New York Hilton Midtown.

“Make no mistake about it, we have to keep fighting as hard as we can on immigration,” the first lady said. “As my husband has said, he’s going to do whatever administrative action he can to fix this broken system.”
She spoke at a luncheon to promote her Reach Higher initiative, which encourages young people to seek education after high school.

“Some of you may be wondering why I’m focusing on education today,” she said. “What I know from my own experience is that if we want to lift up the next generation, we must tackle all of these issues at the same time.”

Sheriff Feds Releasing Criminals Deported 10-15 Times into Arizona

Photo Credit: MARK RALSTON / AFP / Getty ImagesOn Tuesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel, Pinal County, AZ Sheriff Paul Babeu reported that the federal government has released criminal illegal aliens into his community and that his officers have arrested individuals who have already been deported 10 or 15 times. He said “[the federal government] has released dangerous violent criminals right in my county and they refuse to give me the names of these criminals, and that there are “cartel scouts…ushering the drugs through all the way up to Phoenix” within the county. Babeu added, “We have a guy just yesterday we arrested and everyday 10 times deported, 15 times deported, because there are no consequences for breaking the law.”

He also blasted President Barack Obama’s claim that the $3.7 billion the president requested from Congress will help remedy the situation on the border…

Here's How Obama Wants To Spend A Whopping $3.7 Billion To Deal With The Border Crisis

Photo Credit: REUTERS / Kevin LamarquePresident Barack Obama is requesting $3.7 billion in emergency funding to deal with the humanitarian crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border, where thousands of migrants — many of them unaccompanied children — have flooded across the border in recent months.

The White House formally asked Congress on Tuesday for $3.7 billion to improve border security along the border, to improve housing conditions where the migrants are being kept, and to speed up deportation proceedings. The amount is almost $2 billion more than earlier reports suggested the Obama administration would request.

White House officials said last month that, as of June 15, 52,000 unaccompanied children from Central America have been apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border this year. In addition, border officials have taken 39,000 more adults with children into custody as of May 31.

Hundreds are coming over the border every day, mostly making their way from violence-stricken areas in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The causes for the influx are many, but a large portion are children fleeing increased drug and gang violence.

Pro-Amnesty Protest: Would Obama Send His Kids 'Back to Kenya'? (+video)

Photo Credit: Breitbart By Breitbart News.

Over 100 pro-amnesty activists from Southern California traveled to Naval Base Ventura County on Tuesday to stage a demonstration outside the gates to demand “humane treatment” for illegal aliens who have been transferred there from Texas by U.S. Border Patrol. The aliens, many of them unaccompanied children, are from Central America and crossed the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a massive recent migration.

The demonstrators represented a variety of backgrounds, from church and student organizations to left-wing political groups. They chanted, “No papers? No fear! Our children stay here!” and “All children matter! Let our kids stay!” Karen Gonzales, a senior at California State University Northridge, told Breitbart News: “As humans, none of us is illegal. The kids came here because their parents are already here, and to get away from violence.”

Oxnard native Robert Cruz, 57, who served as a U.S. Navy corpsman and U.S. Army medic, carried an American flag and told Breitbart News that he was at the protest to show “we’re a lot different than Murrieta.” He added: “I understand that many would love to come here legally, but they are running away from violence. They don’t have a say. This country was built by immigrants. Should we close our door? We stand for equality for all.”

Asked what he thought of President Barack Obama’s promise to deport children arriving illegally, Cruz said: “I think he should search deep inside his heart, and look at what he’s saying and what he’s doing. He’d be sending them back, possibly, to a death sentence.

Photo Credit: Win McNamee, Getty Sen. Jeff Sessions: Obama created border crisis

By Jeff Sessions.

The crisis on our border is the direct and predictable result of President Obama’s sustained effort to undermine America’s immigration laws. As the president’s previous director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), John Sandweg recently acknowledged: “if you are a run-of-the-mill immigrant here illegally, your odds of getting deported are close to zero.” Enforcement has collapsed.

Today President Obama says he needs $3.7 billion from Congress to handle the crisis his lawless policies are creating. Amazingly, the funding request further advertises his administration’s amnesty efforts and our fraud-riddled asylum programs, while explicitly omitting any request for expedited deportation authority. The request is also not paid for. The administration wants to borrow every penny.

President Obama has yielded to the demands of open borders groups, to whom he pledged amnesty in 2008. He has dramatically abandoned his lawful duty to the American people. Immigration enforcement for the world’s most powerful nation is now held hostage by a small band of radical immigration activists. That is why the administration still refuses to deliver the crucial message necessary to halt this flow: if you attempt to cross our border illegally, you will be apprehended and deported.

Arizona Lawmaker Aims to Send Border-Crossing Children Home Faster

Photo Credit: Will Seberger / ZumaPress / Newscom By Josh Siegel.

Legislation proposed by an Arizona congressman would give federal officials authority to quickly screen and deport unaccompanied children from Central America who have crossed the Mexican border into the United States.

The bill from Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz., would change a provision in a 2008 human-trafficking law that requires U.S. Border Patrol agents to turn over the children to the federal Department of Health and Human Services and guarantees those minors hearings in immigration court — a process that can take years.

Salmon, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, is part of a group assembled by Speaker John Boehner to address the border crisis.

“This is an issue he has been working to address for awhile,” said Tristan Daedalus, Salmon’s communications director, adding:

Basically, the crux of the bill is a small legal change that would give CBP [Customs and Border Patrol] agents the authority to immediately repatriate them back to their countries.

Photo Credit: CBS 8Third group of migrants sent to San Diego

By Gene Kang, Shannon Handy and CNS.

Another group of undocumented Central American migrants arrived Monday in San Diego, continuing a process that has prompted intense opposition as well as widespread compassion for the plight of the exiles.

The group of about 140 immigrants, who entered the United States illegally in Texas, were flown into Lindbergh Field late this morning and then bused to a U.S. Border Patrol facility in San Ysidro for processing.

On Tuesday, an initial group of the same size arrived in San Diego and were driven to Murrieta, where crowds of angry protesters blocked their entrance to a USBP facility, prompting authorities to take them instead to San Ysidro.

The departure of the migrants from the Riverside area marked a victory for the roughly two dozen protesters who had gathered to decry the foreigners’ arrival there, many waving flags and others carrying signs reading “Stop Illegal Immigration” and “Return to Sender.”

Protesters have continued gathering at the Border Patrol facility in Murrieta. Some clashed with police on Friday while waiting to see if more migrants would be arriving.

Krauthammer: 'If Fences Don't Work, Why Is There One Around The White House?'

Photo Credit: TownHall The illegal immigration problem at the Southwest border is worse than it has ever been—tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors are coming into the U.S. at unprecedented rates. Border Patrol is overwhelmed and lacking adequate resources to handle the influx, and the administration’s proposed solutions to stem the tide are underwhelming to say the least…

BILL O’REILLY: How do you secure the border, Charles?

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Alright, here’s what I’ve been on for years. You start with a fence. It’s very simple. People say, ‘Oh, fences don’t work. You make a ladder.’ Well, then you build two fences, triple strand fences. San Diego did that in the mid 90’s and within a decade, the illegal immigration rate at that point was reduced by 90% and people ended up going through other places like Arizona.

Town Won't Welcome Illegals Without a Fight

They’ve already turned the buses away once, and they’re prepared to do it again.

Murrieta, a booming city in Southern California that has grown from only 2,000 residents in 1980 to over 100,000 residents today, has unwillingly become a microcosm of the nation’s struggle to process the tens of thousands of illegal immigrant minors streaming across the U.S. border.

On July 1, when U.S. officials sought to bus illegal immigrants into Murrieta for processing to relieve the overcrowded centers in Texas, a reported 200 to 300 Murrieta residents stood in the roadway and effectively blocked the buses from delivering their passengers. The buses were forced to turn around and drive to a Border Patrol station instead.

But the feds aren’t relenting, promising more buses will come and setting up police tape and barricades to keep the roads clear.

Many of the residents, however, are not surrendering so easily.

By William La Jeunesse.

America’s border crisis reached Main Street, as flag-waving protesters in a San Diego suburb turned back three busloads of illegal immigrants after the town’s mayor warned Tuesday that federal officials were using the community as a safety valve for facilities swamped by a tide of Central American refugees.

Fears of disease, crime and already-strained government services prompted Murrieta, Calif., Mayor Alan Long to rally residents against plans by the Department of Homeland Security to bus the children and families to a processing center in the city of 106,000 residents. Confronted by the protests, the buses were rerouted to San Diego.

“These people are fleeing a less desirable area — we all understand that, we’re compassionate for that, but those are concerns,” Long told Fox News. “We’ve asked a lot of questions, we wanted to make sure no stone went unturned so that we had certainty on what exactly we were getting. And when you start asking about the health screening that they claim they get — there’s a lot of gaps. They could not answer a lot of questions we had to give us certainty that the people on those buses were healthy.”

The three buses were trailed by a half-dozen news crews during the two-hour trip from the border to Murietta. After the buses were blocked, federal authorities rerouted the vehicles to a freeway and then to a customs and border facility in San Diego within view of the Mexico border.

Obama to Pitch Immigration at Citizenship Ceremony

Photo Credit: Getty Images By Darlene Superville.

President Barack Obama plans to highlight a positive side of the immigration debate by presiding over an Independence Day citizenship ceremony for service members who signed up to defend the U.S. even though they weren’t American citizens.

A total of 25 members of the Armed Forces will spend the Fourth of July as American citizens after the deputy secretary for homeland security delivers the oath of allegiance at a White House ceremony on Friday.

The group includes 15 active-duty service members from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, along with two veterans, one reservist and seven spouses, the White House said. They represent 15 countries.

The politically divisive immigration issue is earning renewed attention after the influx of tens of thousands of unaccompanied children from Central America who, under U.S. law, must be sent back across the border to their home countries. That has upset advocates of overhauling U.S. immigration policy who want Obama to allow the children to stay.

At the same time, Obama blames House Republicans for delaying action on an immigration overhaul. A comprehensive measure the Senate passed last year has been blocked by House leaders who also have done little to advance legislative proposals of their own.

By Tony Perry and Matt Hansen.

Protesters have gathered near the entrance to a Border Patrol facility in Murrieta, Calif., on Friday to await buses of undocumented immigrants, but whether those buses will arrive is unknown.

Unlike Tuesday when shouting, flag-waving protesters blocked three busloads of immigrants, Murrieta police Friday morning cleared the entry road.

The estimated 100 demonstrators, including those favoring the immigrants, were being restricted to a “safety zone” away from the road. Many had remained all night at the site, vowing a repeat of Tuesday’s blockade.

Authorities kept the road to the processing center clear and the protesters in check, although scuffles did break out. In total, Murrieta police arrested six people for obstructing officers including five who were detained during an afternoon altercation,

On Friday morning, one 56-year-old protester was cited for interfering with police, authorities said. Local police officers also had to step in and separate two groups of protesters who were arguing, but no one appeared to be injured or arrested following that confrontation.

Rick Perry Calls for National Guard to Defend the Border

Photo Credit: Gage SkidmoreThe situation at the Texas border is getting worse by the day, and the federal government, who should be providing adequate resources to solve the issue is nowhere to be found.

Texas has seen an astronomical increase in unaccompanied children flooding across the border since October. Emergency stations have been converted to house the kids and resources to provide care are starting to dwindle.

In response to the situation, Texas created their own border security patrol units that have been working tirelessly to prevent illegals from coming across the border, but more help is needed.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is calling on the government to send National Guard troops down to the border to militarize the area in order to reduce the number of illegals entering the country.
