Trial Day 4: Epstein’s Former Housekeeper: Ghislaine Maxwell Was ‘Lady of the House’; Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Black Book Makes Its Courtroom Debut

By New York Post. Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime housekeeper on Thursday testified that Ghislaine Maxwell was the “lady of the house” at the powerful pedophile’s Florida mansion — and that countless young women hung out there, including two who appeared to be minors.

Juan Alessi dished about working for the late financier in Palm Beach for more than a decade, telling a Manhattan jury he saw “many, many, many females” in their 20s socializing with Epstein and Maxwell, usually topless.

Alessi recalled seeing two girls who appeared to be minors over the course of his employment, which ended in 2002. He identified one of the two as “Jane,” — a Maxwell accuser who testified earlier this week — describing her as a “striking, beautiful” girl who looked to be around 14 or 15.

The other minor, Alessi said, was Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who has accused both Epstein and Maxwell of sex-trafficking her when she was a teenager.

Alessi described how Maxwell first met Giuffre in the parking lot of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where she ordered him to stop the car so she could hop out to talk to the young blonde. (Read more from “Epstein’s Former Housekeeper: Ghislaine Maxwell Was ‘Lady of the House’” HERE)

Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Black Book Makes Its Courtroom Debut

By Slate. On day four of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial, government exhibit 52 made its much anticipated debut. This is Jeffrey Epstein’s “little black book”—the telephone directory containing names and numbers for a huge roster of Epstein’s wealthy and powerful friends, and also, presumably, some of the people who’ve accused him of crimes.

The book was introduced as the prosecution’s witness Juan Alessi was on the stand. Alessi was the butler/driver/go-fer at Epstein’s Palm Beach house from around 1991 until 2002. He described the decadent atmosphere around the mansion, which he said was run “like a five-star hotel.” He was expected to keep wads of hundred dollar bills stocked in each of Epstein’s cars at all times. He said there were many women who hung around Epstein’s pool, and that they were topless “75-80 percent of the time.” He said Maxwell, who he called the “lady of the house,” took many photos of these topless women, and displayed them in frames on her desk there. He also said it was obvious that Maxwell was in charge of running the household. And she slept in Epstein’s bedroom, with Epstein. . .

A lot of these details were vital to the prosecution’s case. But for the story beyond the story—the curiosity around Jeffrey Epstein, how he got his wealth, what he knew about his famous friends—the little black book was the real object of interest. A prosecutor took it out of its own dedicated accordion file, handed it around for the defense team and judge to inspect, and then brought it up to Alessi on the witness stand. He identified it as the kind of address book that would be at Epstein’s house, and he said he recognized many of the entries.

Before the start of the trial, NPR reported that prosecutors say the information in the book “will help establish who and what Maxwell knew—including ‘an inference that the defendant knew that at least some of these individuals were minors.’” But we got no juicy details from the little black book today. No boldface names. It’s possible we never will. The prosecution seems to want to put a heavily redacted version of it into evidence. There were long sidebar arguments about what could be admitted, and why. As the lawyers jawed at each other, Alessi, still on the stand, just casually flipped through the book’s pages, perusing them with interest. Report: Jeffrey Epstein Visited Clinton White House at Least 17 Times

Jeffrey Epstein visited the White House at least 17 times in the early years of President Bill Clinton’s administration, according to a new report published Thursday.

Visitor logs show the wealthy convicted pedophile — who died from an apparent suicide in his jail cell in 2019 – even visited the Clinton White House twice on the same day three different times, The Daily Mail reported.

In one visit on Sept. 29, 1993, Epstein attended an event where he and his alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell were photographed alongside Clinton after the financier donated $10,000 to help renovate the building.

It’s not clear if Epstein, who killed himself in his jail cell in 2019, actually met or interacted with Clinton during his other visits, and the former president wasn’t in the building for at least a few of Epstein’s trips there, the Mail said.

The visitor logs, obtained by the Mail through a request with the Clinton Presidential library, showed Epstein first visiting the White House on Feb. 25, 1993 – a little more than a month after the Democrat first took office. During that visit, his destination was listed as “WW” — apparently the West Wing – and his invitation was issued by “Rubin,” according to the report. Schoolgirl Outfits, Gifts to Teens, Sex Abuse ‘Every Day’: Feds Slam Ghislaine Maxwell on 1st Day of Trial; The Bible, ‘Manipulated’ Victims and a ‘Scapegoat’: Maxwell Lawyer Reveals Strategy

By Daily Beast. They were young girls who dreamed of becoming professional musicians, or models, or actresses—but they often came from poor families and their parents needed money. They were the perfect targets for a pair of high-society “predators” who dazzled them with fabulous wealth and promised them the world—and who then allegedly groomed, molested, and raped them.

Such was the story presented by federal prosecutors on the first day of Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial in connection to multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring. . .

The jury will hear from Epstein’s pilots, household staff, members of law enforcement, and a former employee of the multimillionaire. Evidence in the trial will include “a schoolgirl outfit,” flight logs, and FedEx records showing Epstein’s gifts to a girl who was only 15 years old. . .

Prosecutors called Maxwell Epstein’s “best friend and right hand” in court on Monday. “She preyed on vulnerable young girls, manipulated them, and served them up to be abused… That is what this trial is all about,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Pomerantz. She claimed Maxwell was drawn to Epstein’s life of luxury, which included sumptuous private homes in New Mexico, New York, and Paris, a private island, private planes, and astounding wealth. Prosecutor Tells Jury Ghislaine Maxwell Groomed Minors for Epstein’s Sexual Abuse

By NBC News. The much-anticipated trial of Ghislaine Maxwell got underway Monday in New York City with a prosecutor and defense attorney painting conflicting portraits of the accused enabler of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Assistant United States Attorney Lara Pomerantz, who gave the federal prosecutors’ opening statement, said Maxwell identified and targeted vulnerable young women and then “served them up” to Epstein.

“She put them at ease and made them feel safe, all so that they could be sexually abused by a middle-aged man,” Pomerantz said. “There were times when she was in the room when it happened.”

Maxwell was no mere Epstein employee, Pomerantz said. She was “the lady of the house” who made sure that what happened behind closed doors stayed behind closed doors. And she and Epstein “had a playbook.”

“First they got access to young girls,” the prosecutor said. “Then they gained their trust.” (Read more from “Prosecutor Tells Jury Ghislaine Maxwell Groomed Minors for Epstein’s Sexual Abuse” HERE)

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Lawyer Reveals Defense Strategy: The Bible, ‘Manipulated’ Victims and a ‘Scapegoat’

By New York Post. Ghislaine Maxwell’s defense attorneys on Monday portrayed her as a scapegoat being accused because of “the bad behavior of men,” — one in particular — since prosecutors never had a chance to put late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on trial.

Her lawyer, Bobbi Sternheim, invoked the Bible at the start of her opening statement, arguing that women have been condemned for crimes committed by men since the beginning of time.

“Ever since Eve was accused of tempting Adam with the apple,” said Sternheim. “Women have been blamed for the bad behavior of men.”

“Ghislaine is on trial here and you heard about the conduct of Jeffrey Epstein. She is filling that hole. And filling an empty chair,” said Sternheim, adding that her client was a “convenient stand-in” for the dead sex offender.

Sternheim also took aim at the four alleged victims in the case, claiming they had been taken advantage of by aggressive civil defense attorneys and, in some cases, are searching for a payday. Jeffrey Epstein Worked as FBI Informant, Documents Prove

Dead child sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein avoided federal criminal charges by becoming a government turncoat in 2008, Knewz.com has learned, putting his relationship with Prince Andrew under increased scrutiny.

Epstein — who died from what authorities ruled a suicide in August, 2019, at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York — offered up evidence to the FBI “as agreed upon,” according to official FBI documents obtained by Knewz.com.

As his former party pal Prince Andrew is sued in federal court for alleged sex abuse in Epstein’s company, it’s a damning revelation that could put new pressure on the British royal to speak with American authorities at last about what he knows.

The secret is spilled in a long-buried FBI document titled, “SYNOPSIS: REQUEST CLOSING OF FORFEITURE SUBFILE FF,” in which an FBI agent detailed how Epstein started spilling secrets to the US government.

The document reads: “On 9/11/08, case agent advised writer that Epstein is currently being prosecuted by the State of Florida and is complying with all conditions of his plea with the State of Florida. Epstein has also provided information to the FBI has agreed upon. Case agent advised that no federal prosecution will occur in this matter as long as Epstein continues to uphold his agreement with the State of Florida.” (Read more from “Jeffrey Epstein Worked as FBI Informant, Documents Prove” HERE)

New Woman Steps Forward Alleging Jeffrey Epstein Raped Her

Another woman has come forward with new claims that she was raped by Jeffrey Epstein at his Manhattan townhouse when she was 17, a lawsuit shows.

The woman filed her suit anonymously in Manhattan Supreme Court late Friday — the eve of the historic closure of the New York Child Victim’s Act’s look-back window.

The window allowed people alleging childhood abuse to file suit against their suspected attackers and the institutions that reportedly protected the perpetrators, regardless of whether the old claims were beyond the statute of limitations.

The new Epstein case alleges that in 2003, when the woman was 17, the sick financier “sexually assaulted, abused, battered and raped her on at least two, separate occasions at his home” in Manhattan. (Read more from “New Woman Steps Forward Alleging Jeffrey Epstein Raped Her” HERE)

Epstein Accuser Sues Prince Andrew, Citing Child Sex Assault

One of Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime accusers sued Prince Andrew on Monday, taking accusations that she has repeatedly publicly lodged against him, including that he sexually assaulted her when she was 17, to a formal venue.

Lawyers for Virginia Giuffre filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court, where Epstein was charged criminally with sex trafficking a month before he killed himself at age 66 in August 2019 in an adjacent federal jail where he was ordered to await trial.

Giuffre has repeatedly made her allegations against Epstein, his onetime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, and Andrew, but the lawsuit was the first time she has directly confronted Andrew in such a formal setting. It steps up public relations pressure on the prince, even if he remains beyond the reach of the courts. (Read more from “Epstein Accuser Sues Prince Andrew, Citing Child Sex Assault” HERE)

Jeffrey Epstein Compensation Fund Pays Out Nearly $121M to Victims

The compensation fund set up for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims paid out nearly $121 million before it ended Monday — on the eve of the two-year anniversary of the pedophile’s death.

The case’s Victims’ Compensation Program began distributing money a little more than a year ago and made offers totaling nearly $125 million to about 150 women — with the fund ultimately paying out $121 million, according to fund administrator Jordana Feldman.

If victims opted to accept the fund’s offer to them, they had to sign a release not to bring more legal action against the estate.

Epstein was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking and other charges when authorities say the sick multimillionaire financier hanged himself in a Lower Manhattan jail cell Aug. 10, 2019.

The compensation program for Epstein’s sex-abuse victims received around 225 claims, of which 150 were deemed credible and given offers in varying amounts. About 92 percent of the victims who received offers accepted them, the administrator said. (Read more from “Jeffrey Epstein Compensation Fund Pays Out Nearly $121M to Victims” HERE)

Gates and Epstein Relationship May Have Been More Complicated Than Once Thought

Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein might have more layers than many originally thought with more details emerging about the depth of their connection.

According to Rolling Stone, one alleged “protégé” of the deceased financier – a neuroscientist and neurosurgeon named Melanie S. Walker – may be a vital link to the pair as she had eventually become a “mentee” of Epstein’s after he allegedly encouraged her to forego a modeling opportunity and finish medical school instead. Walker served as a top adviser to Gates at his foundation before landing at the World Bank.

Per the outlet, the Gates Foundation had placed Walker at the World Bank as part of a “secondment,” an arrangement that allowed the foundation to pay Walker’s salary despite the fact she worked for the bank.

Walker had graduated from the University of Texas in 1992 and six months later would meet Epstein at the famed Plaza Hotel during a sightseeing trip to New York City. At the time, Epstein was an adviser to Leslie Wexner, owner of Victoria’s Secret, according to The New York Times, which maintained that Walker was one of the intermediaries who would go on to liaise between Gates and Epstein.

Rolling Stone cited a source who claimed Epstein had approached Walker simply because he thought she was attractive. (Read more from “Gates and Epstein Relationship May Have Been More Complicated Than Once Thought” HERE)

Bombshell Claim: Lawyer Ken Starr Helped Jeffrey Epstein With ‘Scorched-Earth’ Campaign

Ken Starr, the lawyer who hounded Bill Clinton over his affair with Monica Lewinsky, waged a “scorched-earth” legal campaign to persuade federal prosecutors to drop a sex-trafficking case against the billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein relating to the abuse of multiple underaged girls, according to a new book.

In Perversion of Justice the Miami Herald reporter Julie K Brown writes about Starr’s role in securing the secret 2008 sweetheart deal that granted Epstein effective immunity from federal prosecution. The author, who is credited with blowing open the cover-up, calls Starr a “fixer” who “used his political connections in the White House to get the Justice Department to review Epstein’s case”.

The book says that emails and letters sent by Starr and Epstein’s then criminal defense lawyer Jay Lefkowitz show that the duo were “campaigning to pressure the Justice Department to drop the case”. Starr had been brought into “center stage” of Epstein’s legal team because of his connections in Washington to the Bush administration. . .

When Epstein’s lawyers appeared to be failing in their pressure campaign, with senior DoJ officials concluding that Epstein was ripe for federal prosecution, Starr pulled out the stops. Brown discloses that he wrote an eight-page letter to Mark Filip, who had just been confirmed as deputy US attorney general, the second most powerful prosecutor in the country. . .

In the letter Starr begins affably, invoking the “finest traditions” of fairness and integrity of the DoJ. He then goes on to deliver what Brown calls a “brutal punch”, accusing prosecutors involved in the Epstein case of misconduct in trying to engineer a plea deal with the billionaire that would benefit their friends. Dershowitz Sues Netflix Over Jeffrey Epstein Miniseries

Alan Dershowitz sued Netflix over the way he was portrayed in the streaming service’s series on Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier charged with orchestrating a sex-trafficking ring.

The Florida-based lawyer was misled about his involvement in the miniseries, Filthy Rich, he said, according to a lawsuit filed in Miami federal court. Dershowitz, 82, also accused the company of presenting “categorically false” claims from Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s alleged victims, that she and the lawyer had intercourse.

“Giuffre’s accusations that she had sex with Professor Dershowitz are categorically false, and Professor Dershowitz has denied and disproved the accusations — including under oath subject to the penalties of perjury,” the lawsuit read. . .

Dershowitz, who served as Epstein’s attorney during a 2008 conviction for a prostitution charge, played a large role in the show, which detailed a flurry of accusations that Epstein recruited underage girls for massages and sexually molested them.
