This Is the Real Reason Why Biden Took the Deal To Get a WNBA Player Out of Russia

As we’ve noted here, when it comes to The Art of the Deal, Biden doesn’t have it, which was painfully exposed when he pulled the trigger on a bad deal to get back WNBA star Brittney Griner who has been detained in Russia for months. In February, Griner was jailed on drug charges, with vape charges containing cannabis oil on her person. It was for medicinal purposes, but it’s illegal in Russia. A months-long legal circus carried allegations that the Biden White House either didn’t know or care that an American was being detained overseas. It also didn’t help that Griner’s detention occurred just as the Biden administration and the rest of the West slapped sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. . .

The Biden administration’s new line appears we took the deal because this notorious arms dealer would be released from prison soon anyway. That’s at least what John Kirby told Fox News’ Shannon Bream (via RealClearPolitics):

SHANNON BREAM, FOX NEWS: So, how will this administration answer the questions about why Marc Fogel and Paul Whelan were left behind?

KIRBY: We will, of course, cooperate fully with members of Congress from both sides of the aisle. If there’s a need and desire for more information, we’ll be as forthcoming as we obviously can be. Of course, we respect the role of Congress.

A couple of points here. Mr. Bout wasn’t serving a life sentence, Shannon. He was going to get out in 2029. So, at some point in the not too distant future, he would have been a free man. It is six years earlier.

Even Biden DOJ Officials Calling Foul on Griner Swap for ‘Merchant of Death

Officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ) think it was a mistake for President Joe Biden to swap WNBA star Brittney Griner for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, dubbed the “Merchant of Death.”

Griner was arrested in February at a Moscow airport after being caught with marijuana vaping materials and sentenced to nine years in prison in August. Bout, one of the world’s most notorious arms dealers, was convicted in 2011 of conspiring to sell millions of dollars worth of weapons to a designated foreign terrorist group to be used to kill Americans.

“If she were my relative, I would want to do the swap,” one DOJ official told The Washington Post. “But trading a notorious international arms dealer for a basketball player is madness.”

The Post said many officials within the department view the one-for-one swap as a mistake, given the glaring disparity between offenses.

The ‘Twitter Files’ Miss the Real Scandal: FBI Interference in the 2020 Election

I can appreciate clever. It’s when people — especially government officials — insult my intelligence that I get angry. And we should all be angry over the United States government’s interference in the 2020 presidential election, hot on the heels of its self-abasement during and in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election.

The FBI, as the pointy end of the executive-branch spear, would have us believe that it in no way intentionally interfered in the 2020 election. Yet the evidence that it did so, and that its doing so was part of a yearslong pattern, is by leaps and bounds stronger than the evidence that the Trump campaign corruptly conspired with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election — the baseless allegation, energetically promoted by the bureau, that inflamed the country for two years.

I’ve laid out much of the 2020 evidence here at NR and in the New York Post — the latter piece coming after Elon Musk, Twitter’s new top honcho, made some of the platform’s internal correspondence relating to the 2020 campaign available to journalist Matt Taibbi, who reported on it publicly in a series of tweets. Taibbi’s reporting is important, but I was surprised by the weakness of his observation that, beyond a “general” warning about “possible foreign hacks,” there appeared to be no evidence of FBI complicity in the pre-election social-media suppression of the Post’s reporting on damning information from Hunter Biden’s laptop.

To summarize, three months before the Post reported on the laptop, there was already not only a Hunter Biden criminal investigation but a Senate Republican investigation of the scandal the media-Democrat complex continues to bury: the cashing in on Joe Biden’s political influence by his family members, with his knowing and willful involvement, to the tune of millions of dollars that poured into Biden family coffers from agents of corrupt and authoritarian regimes, including some, such as China and Russia, that are hostile to the United States.

Obviously worried about the potential effect of these revelations on their party’s presidential nominee, congressional Democrats turned to some of their many sympathizers in the FBI brass. These included Timothy Thibault, who ran the Bureau’s Washington field office until he was forced into early retirement over anti-Republican, anti-conservative posts on his social-media account, and Brian Auten, an intelligence analyst who played an important role in the deeply misleading FISA-warrant applications the FBI filed in federal court, leading the judges to believe the 2016 Trump campaign had colluded with the Kremlin. Through these officials, the FBI helped Democrats peddle a political narrative that the evidence of foreign money lining the Bidens’ pockets was “Russian disinformation” — notwithstanding that much of this evidence was simply money-trail records generated by financial institutions, easily verifiable. White House Reveals Biden’s Top Priorities After Biden Says He Has ‘More Important Things Going On’ Than Visiting Border

President Joe Biden’s top focus is the economy and anyone who thinks it shouldn’t be, should “say that out loud,” the White House told the Daily Caller after the president told reporters Tuesday that he has “more important things going on” than visiting the border.

“The President was clear that his top priority is investing in the American economy and in American communities, out-competing China, and bringing back American jobs from overseas. In fact, as Daily Caller reported multiple times recently, the economy is the top issue for most Americans. If anyone believes that shouldn’t be the President’s top priority too, they should say that out loud,” Abdullah Hasan, the White House assistant press secretary, said.

Multiple polls conducted before the midterms indicated a majority of voters listed issues relating to the economy as their top concerns.

The southern border has experienced a record-breaking number of roughly 2.3 million migrant encounters in fiscal year 2022, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has seen at least four personnel die by suicide in recent weeks, National Border Patrol Council Vice President At-Large Sergio Moreno revealed to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Joe Biden Gets Very Confused About ‘Chips’ During His Visit to a Semiconductor Plant (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday to visit a Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) plant that manufactures semiconductors (computer chips) to deliver remarks claiming his economic plan is bringing about a booming economy that…checks notes…has not been reflected in inflation or jobs reports thus far in his administration.

And, as usual, Biden got a little turned around when it came to reading his prewritten remarks about chips made by the company he had traveled to hype up as proof that he’s really (really, guys) building America “back better.” It appears he was trying to describe the size of the microchips made by TSMC, but kept throwing unnecessary “chips” into his sentence and…it didn’t go well.

“TSMC has announced a second major investment,” Biden said. “They will construct a second fab here in Phoenix to build chips- three nano chips- three nano chip- chips that are three nano- any- you know what I’m saying,” Biden said giving up finishing the line correctly to laughter from his audience. “Nano, nono, I don’t know,” the president added.

Freudian Slip? Obama Talks About ‘Crazy’ ‘Uncle Joe’ Not Having Any ‘Serious Responsibilities’ During Warnock Campaign Rally

Former President Barack Obama just made an unfortunate gaffe about President Joe Biden’s mental state while campaigning in Georgia with incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) ahead of next week’s Senate runoff election against GOP challenger Herschel Walker.

Why isn’t the actual Biden campaigning for Warnock this week? Well, the reverend won’t say why he doesn’t want Biden on the campaign trail, but his absence was highlighted when Obama made a comparison between Walker and a “crazy” avuncular character most American families seem to have.

“We all know some folks in our lives, who we don’t wish them ill will. They say crazy stuff and we’re all like, ‘Well, Uncle Joe, you know what happened to him,’” Obama said to laughs from the audience. “They’re part of the family, but you don’t give them serious responsibilities.”

Obama’s comments came immediately after mocking Walker for a story he recently told about vampires and why he would want to be a werewolf instead. The 44th president said that Walker can be anything he wants to be — just not a United States senator.

Trump or Biden? Poll Suggests Americans Want Neither

As of current, former President Trump and President Joe Biden are the nations contenders for the 2024 presidential race.

However, with many Americans not on the Trump train this time around, and with the amount of destruction Biden has caused, the pickings are slim.

But nonetheless, between the two, Americans would still rather Trump in office than Biden.

According to a Economist/YouGov poll, 56 percent of likely voters said “no” when asked if they want Biden to run again for four more years. . .

Secret Service Has Hunter Biden Gun Probe Docs It Denied Having: Watchdog

The Secret Service has located hundreds of pages of records tied to the investigation of a gun belonging to Hunter Biden – despite having denied they existed, a government watchdog group said Thursday.

Judicial Watch is investigating whether the Secret Service intervened on behalf of President Biden’s son after the incident, and it has sued the agency for all materials related to the reported purchase, possession, and disposal of the firearm owned by Hunter Biden.

The group has accused the Secret Service of repeatedly changing its position on whether it has any documents related to the investigation.

“The Secret Service’s changing story on records raises additional questions about its role in the Hunter Biden gun incident,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

White House Walks Back Biden Statement Calling For Ban on Semi-Automatic Weapon Sales

The White House had to issue another correction after President Joe Biden told reporters that he was seeking to ban all semi-automatic weapons.

Biden made the comments while speaking to reporters at a stop in a fire station in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on Thanksgiving. . .

On Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a clarification walking back Biden’s comments after reporter Philip Wegmann asked if he made a mistake.

“No, he was, he was talking about assault weapons,” she explained. “That’s what he was talking on that, on that morning or that afternoon when he was asked that question.”

The latest incident of the White House mopping up after a controversial Biden statement only gave more credence to questions about his mental competency to continue in the Oval Office. The Democrats’ relatively good performance in the midterm elections likely means that Biden will easily garner the presidential nomination for a reelection campaign in 2024.

INSANITY: Biden Wastes Billions on COVID Boosters NO ONE Wants

When it comes to wasting money, the Biden administration has few peers. Earlier in the year, Team Biden re-purposed billions of dollars to buy 170 million doses of the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine. The problem is, few people are getting the shots.

The CDC reports that just 35 million people — roughly 11% of the population and only 15% of the 227 million people who have completed the primary vaccine series and are eligible for the new booster — have taken it in the three months since it was authorized.

But instead of examining why the response is so poor, the administration is resorting to its usual solution — spend more money. White House COVID-19 response coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha, has just announced a “six-week sprint” to convince Americans to get their updated vaccines.

The White House fact sheet for the new campaign reports that already “Over 70,000 locations are offering the updated COVID-19 vaccines, and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has taken steps this month to expand to even more locations.”

Apparently, that is not enough. The administration says it will pilfer another $475 million from the Provider Relief Fund — meant to preserve the healthcare system by financially supporting providers who experienced lost revenues and increased expenses during the pandemic — to boost bivalent booster uptake. The program will “invest” (this administration never spends) $350 million into community health centers to raise booster awareness and expand vaccination activities. Another $125 million will go “to national organizations that serve people with disabilities and older adults to support community vaccination programs and efforts.” (Read more from “Biden Wastes Billions on COVID Boosters No One Wants” HERE)
