Biden Sticks With Afghanistan Withdrawal Deadline; CIA Boss Secretly Meets With Taliban as Evacuation Deadline Looms

By CNN. President Joe Biden will stick, for now, with an August 31 deadline to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan after determining the risks of Taliban reprisal or terror attacks were too high.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden relayed his decision in crisis talks of the Group of 7 on Tuesday morning, making clear the decision to stick to the withdrawal timeline was in large part driven by those security risks.

“The President conveyed that our mission in Kabul will end based on the achievement of our objectives,” Psaki said in a statement. “He confirmed we are currently on pace to finish by August 31st and provided an update on progress in evacuating Americans who want to come home, third-country nationals, and Afghans who were our allies during the war.”

Psaki said Biden noted that each day the risks are getting higher in a country now controlled by the Taliban. The President made a particular point of warning of the potential for terror attacks, which has become an acute concern inside his administration, Psaki said. CIA Boss Secretly Meets With Taliban as Evacuation Deadline Looms

By Washington Examiner. Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns met in person with top Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar during a low-publicity rendezvous in Kabul on Monday.

Burns, a former diplomat and deputy secretary of state, traveled to the war-torn capital city of Kabul in Afghanistan for undisclosed negotiations with Baradar, according to reports first shared by the Washington Post. While the CIA has remained tight-lipped about the details of the meeting, Burns’s position as CIA director and a former high-ranking member of the State Department makes him the highest-ranking U.S. official to meet with the Taliban’s top brass in the flesh.

Word of the high-level meeting between Burns, a longtime diplomat now heading the spy agency under Biden, came as the U.S. mulled extending the Aug. 31 deadline to evacuate Afghanistan.

A Taliban spokesman warned of “consequences ” if the U.S. remained in Kabul into September, but the massive evacuation effort is proving difficult, and the military is running out of time to pull out American government workers, citizens, contractors, and Afghans who served the U.S. over the last 20 years. Former House Speaker: ‘Biden’s Surrender to the Taliban Is Now Complete’

President Biden’s “surrender to the Taliban is now complete,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) declared Tuesday after the president agreed to stick to what many say is an unrealistic August 31 deadline to evacuate Americans from Afghanistan after the jihadist organization said there will be “no extensions.”

“Biden’s surrender to the Taliban is now complete. He will leave Afghanistan on the Taliban time table even if it leaves Americans and allies stranded in the country,” Gingrich said.

“His humiliation and failure is now complete,” he continued, describing the situation as the “worst moral collapse by an American President in our history”:

Poll: Biden’s Fans Don’t Like Him Nearly as Much as His Opponents Dislike Him

Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden more intensely than they approve of him, a new poll from The Federalist and Susquehanna Polling & Research shows.

The survey conducted last week not only measured Biden’s falling approval rating following his administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan but also noted the intensity gap between those who think the president is doing a good job and those who don’t.

Of the 800 people surveyed, 49 percent said they approved of the job Biden is doing as president while 45 percent said they disapproved. The intensity of this approval and disapproval, however, changed drastically when broken down.

Approximately 32 percent of people surveyed said they “strongly approve” of Biden’s presidency, which dropped to 17 percent for those who said they “somewhat approve” of Biden’s time in office. On the disapprove side, 41 percent of those surveyed said they “strongly disapprove” of Biden. Only 4 percent said they “somewhat disapprove.” (Read more from “Poll: Biden’s Fans Don’t Like Him Nearly as Much as His Opponents Dislike Him” HERE)

Blinken Is Asked, ‘Does the President Not Know What’s Going On?’ His Answer Is Troubling.

A really rough clip from Fox News Sunday, in which the Secretary of State totally side-steps a bruising question about the president’s basic awareness of key facts as his Afghanistan policy is reduced to smoldering rubble. The most charitable explanation I can think of here is that Blinken was so amped up to deploy his talking points about our alliances that he didn’t pay attention to the actual question put to him, which was a polite version of ‘does Biden have any clue about what’s actually happening?’ What we get in reply is boilerplate DC-speak, asking us to effectively ignore the extraordinary rhetorical beating the president and administration have sustained from some our closest allies in recent days. The less charitable explanation is that Blinken’s bloodless deflection was a deliberate avoidance of commenting on the Commander-in-Chief’s mental acuity. Watch:

Consider the statements Biden has made over the last few days, among others:

(1) His administration planned for “every contingency” ahead of our withdrawal. Nothing about that claim feels accurate in light of the reality on the ground.

(2) In spite of that first assertion, the current, rapid collapse was unforeseen. Intelligence sources and leaked cables suggest otherwise. The White House was begged for months to commence evacuations much sooner than they did:

WATCH: Taliban Issues Direct Threat to Joe Biden

The Taliban won’t accept President Joe Biden’s potential extension for withdrawing in Afghanistan, a spokesperson told Sky News.

The U.S. appeared caught off guard by the swift Taliban takeover, sending in more troops to control the Kabul airport and aid in evacuation efforts earlier in August. With the withdrawal deadline of Aug. 31 inching closer, Biden is considering extending that date if more people still need to be evacuated – but Taliban spokesperson Dr. Suhail Shaheen said “it’s a red line.”

“This is something, you can say it’s a red line,” Shaheen said in a video interview with Sky News. “President Biden announced that on 31 of August they would withdraw all their military forces. So if they extend it, that means they are extending occupation while there is no need for that.”

“If they are content on continuing the occupation, so it would provoke a reaction,” he added.

WH Scrubs French President Lecturing Biden From Call Record

French President Emmanuel Macron lectured President Joe Biden on the “moral responsibility” their two nations owed to Afghanistan during a call with the president on Thursday.

A readout of the call released by the French included a pointed note of Macron’s message to Biden.

“The head of state emphasized our collective moral responsibility toward the Afghan men and women who need our protection and who share our values,” it read. “We cannot abandon them.”

The United States readout of the call did not include similar rhetoric, noting that both leaders “underscored the importance of continued close coordination among allies and democratic partners on Afghanistan,” and the importance of “humanitarian assistance and support for refugees.”

Typically, call readouts between foreign leaders err on the side of diplomacy, so for Macron to include the pointed message to Biden demonstrates an intentional effort to separate himself from the American narrative on Afghanistan. Questions Unanswered: President Biden Walks Away as Reporter Shouts ‘Why Do You Continue To Trust the Taliban?’; Senate Republicans Blast Biden’s ‘Agenda of Abandonment’; Biden Astoundingly Claims All Americans Can Reach Kabul Airport

By Daily Caller. resident Joe Biden walked away from a Friday press conference while a reporter asked him why he continues to trust the Taliban.

The president had just finished explaining that the U.S. had been in contact with the Taliban and didn’t expect Afghanistan to fall so fast. “But the point was that although we were in contact with the Taliban, and Doha, for this whole period of time, at some point it wasn’t expected to be a total demise of the Afghan National Force, which is 300 persons,” Biden said. . .

As Biden walked away, multiple reporters began yelling out their questions, including one who asked why he still trusts the Taliban.

“Why do you continue to trust the Taliban, Mr. President?” the reporter asked. Biden ignored the question and continued to walk away. (Read more from “Questions Unanswered: Biden Walks Away as Reporter Shouts ‘Why Do You Continue To Trust the Taliban?'” HERE)

Senate Republicans Blast Biden’s ‘Agenda of Abandonment’ as Thousands of Americans Remain Stranded in Afghanistan

By Breitbart. Senate Republicans are slamming President Biden’s overarching “agenda of abandonment” as thousands of Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan with no clear instructions or way to get out of the country following the Taliban’s takeover.

The video, released by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) on Friday, begins with a montage of news reports detailing Biden’s most recent “tragic foreign policy disaster” in Afghanistan, which has unfolded over the last few days, before stretching back to some of the other major foreign policy issues that occurred in the first few months of his presidency.

The video highlights Biden’s failure to stand up to Israel and features White House press secretary Jen Psaki failing to answer a reporter’s question regarding the U.S. assisting Israel in replenishing the Iron Dome.

“I don’t have anything to preview in terms of additional assistance,” she said as the video highlighted remarks from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who accused the U.S. of enabling dehumanization by aiding the Jewish State. Biden Astoundingly Claims All Americans Can Reach Kabul Airport

By New York Post. President Biden on Friday claimed that al-Qaeda is “gone” from Afghanistan and that the Taliban is letting Americans reach Kabul’s airport, before Pentagon leaders contradicted the commander in chief on both claims.

Biden stumbled repeatedly when taking his first questions from reporters on Afghanistan’s fall to the Taliban — also claiming that US allies were not displeased by the chaotic US pullout, despite rare public rebukes.

“What interest do we have in Afghanistan at this point with al Qaeda gone? We went to Afghanistan for the express purpose of getting rid of al Qaeda in Afghanistan,” Biden said in the White House East Room, defending the US departure.

Attempting to put a positive spin on ongoing evacuations, Biden said “we know of no circumstance where American citizens are carrying an American passport and are trying to get through to the airport.”

When an NPR reporter pointed out that was untrue, Biden changed his answer, saying that “to the best of our knowledge, the Taliban checkpoints, they are letting through people showing American passports” and that some Americans are struggling to reach the airport because of “the mad rush of non-Americans” crowding the area. ABC Accused of Cutting Unflattering Portions of Biden’s Interview

ABC is being called out for editing out portions of President Biden’s interview on the deadly chaos in Afghanistan where he made gaffes about his son Beau — the network included the lines in the transcript, but did not put them on air.

A day after Biden’s interview with George Stephanopoulos aired on Wednesday, ABC published the full transcript online.

Sections of the interview revealed in the full transcript, including a part where Biden mistakenly said his late son Beau served in Iraq with the Navy instead of the Army, and in Afghanistan, where he wasn’t deployed, were omitted from airing.

Asked to respond to a veteran saying he wished the US could have left Afghanistan with honor, Biden said: “Look, that’s like askin’ my deceased son Beau, who spent six months in Kosovo and a year in Iraq as a Navy captain and then major – I mean, as an Army major. And, you know, I’m sure he had regrets comin’ out of Afghanistan– I mean, out of Iraq. . .

Republican lawmakers are now demanding the ABC release the full footage of Biden’s interview. (Read more from “ABC Accused of Cutting Unflattering Portions of Biden’s Interview” HERE)

What if It’s Proven that Joe Biden and the Democrats Didn’t Win the 2020 Election But They Refuse to Give Up Power?

What if, or when, it is unequivocally proven that Joe Biden and other Democrats did not legitimately win the 2020 election, but they refuse to give up power?

What then?

I think it is a scenario for which we should be prepared because elections without meaning leave us with a stark choice between submission to a one-party totalitarian state or rebellion.

It has been evident for a long time that, although we have had elections, we have not had a representative government.

The United States now has a bona fide ruling class that both controls and transcends government, which sees itself as distinct from the rest of society and as the only element that may act on its behalf. The ruling class considers those who resist it as having no moral, intellectual or even any civil right to do so.

Republican leaders neither contest that view nor vilify their Democrat counterparts because they do not want to challenge the ruling class, they want to be part of it.

The GOP leadership has gradually solidified its choice to no longer represent what had been its constituency, but to adopt the identity of junior partners in the ruling class. By repeatedly passing bills that contradict the views of Republican voters, the leadership has made political orphans of millions of Americans.

Most Americans believe that we are no longer citizens of a constitutional republic, but subjects of an administrative aristocracy composed of a self-absorbed permanent political class, which serves the interests of international financiers at the expense of U.S. citizens.

They maintain their authority by an ever-expanding and increasingly intrusive federal government and use compliant media to manipulate public perception and opinion in order to maintain the illusion of democracy.

From the perspective of the ruling elites, elections have become little more than occasions to redistribute power among themselves.

For the international financiers, it does not matter who wins as long as they can continue to influence policy through their lobbies and political donations.

The 2020 election results appear to have been intentionally manipulated by those elites to permanently consolidate their power and rule by fiat, spelling the end of the American constitutional republic.

We are faced with a situation where all the traditional means for the American people to seek the redress of grievances have been blocked.

That is, the federal government has seceded from the American people.

The present political environment, that is, the separation between the rulers and the ruled, bears comparison to the events leading up to the American Revolution.

In contrast to what Thomas Paine wrote in the “Rights of Man” (1791), the current ruling elites in Washington D.C. see individual rights as privileges, not endowed by God, but granted via political charter, and, thereby, legally revocable to ensure the “good order” of society.

It is a collectivist philosophy that directly conflicts with the principles outlined in the Constitution, where government is a construct of and accountable to its citizens, as Paine noted:

“The fact, therefore, must be that the individuals, themselves, each, in his own personal and sovereign right, entered into a contract with each other to produce a government: and this is the only mode in which governments have a right to arise, and the only principle on which they have a right to exist.”

In other words, whenever the interests of government officials divert from or are in conflict with those of the people, tyranny ensues.

Today the federal government has become an entity unto itself operating outside of Constitutional constraints and unaccountable to the American people.

It is, therefore, not just a right, but an obligation of the American people to take correctional measures when such deviations from liberty arise, as Founding Father John Adams noted:

“Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.”

The present conflict of interests between the rulers and the ruled represented by the corrupt political status quo is unsustainable.

Now that it is clear that the blatant and outrageous lies emanating from the ruling elites are no longer sufficient to soothe the citizenry into complacency, they must curtail liberty and oppress the people in order to remain in power.

Ordinary Americans must band together and take a stand to restore the Constitution and the rule of law, to establish political and fiscal sanity and to return the government to the people.

In a speech to the Illinois Republican State Convention on June 16, 1858, Abraham Lincoln had this to say about the issue of slavery:

“In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and passed – A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.”

The United States is at a similar inflection point in history. We will be all one thing or the other, a constitutional republic or, if the present situation continues, a one-party, totalitarian state.

Poll: Majority of Americans Believe Biden Aides Are Running the Country

. . .[A] good number of others in the GOP were alarmed at [Biden’s] long history of, and worsening, gaffes. Verbal blunders, misstatements, lost thoughts.

It appears now even a number of Democrats are sharing that concern, as a new poll from Rasmussen Reports reveals, “A majority of voters don’t think President Joe Biden is mentally and physically capable of doing his job, and suspect the White House is actually being run by others.”

The poll found 39% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Biden really is doing the job of president – down from 47% in March.

“A majority of voter (51%) now say others are making decisions for Biden behind the scenes. Another 10% are not sure,” the report said.

The survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on August 18-19, 2021 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. (Read more from “Poll: Majority of Americans Believe Biden Aides Are Running the Country” HERE)
