WATCH: Joe Biden Announces New Executive Actions on Gun Control; Glock Wins (and Biden Loses) In Major Liability Suit

By Fox News. President Biden on Thursday announced a set of executive actions and legislative proposals on gun control, saying that gun violence is “a public health crisis” and the administration’s actions do not contravene Second Amendment rights.

The administration aims to “confront not just the gun crisis but what is actually a public health crisis,” Biden said in his remarks in the Rose Garden. He was joined by Vice President Harris.

“Nothing I’m about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment,” Biden said. “These are phony arguments suggesting that these are Second Amendment rights at stake from what we’re talking about.”

Continuing, Biden said: “But no amendment to the Constitution is absolute … From the very beginning, you couldn’t own any weapon you wanted to own. From the very beginning the Second Amendment existed, certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons. So the idea is just bizarre to suggest that some of the things we’re recommending are contrary to the Constitution.”

An administration official detailed the actions to reporters on Wednesday. Among them, Biden is asking the Justice Department (DOJ) to propose within a month a rule to stop “ghost guns,” which are “kits” people can buy legally to assemble a functioning firearm that does not have a serial number. Glock Wins (and Biden Loses) In Major Liability Suit

By Washington Examiner. God didn’t deliver for President Joe Biden, who recently begged “the Lord” to help him erase the congressionally approved immunity that gun-makers have from lawsuits.

In a little-noticed decision with a major impact on the firearms industry, a federal judge in Arizona has ruled in favor of pistol manufacturer Glock and dismissed a suit brought by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence on behalf of a man who was accidentally shot and paralyzed.

U.S. District Court Judge Susan Brnovich upheld liability immunity granted in the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act passed in 2005 to block gun-makers from a potential wave of industry-killing lawsuits.

Brnovich, nominated by former President Donald Trump and the wife of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, dismissed multiple claims in the suit that the act’s protections were illegal, writing, “The statute is constitutional.” (Read more from “Glock Wins (and Biden Loses) In Major Liability Suit” HERE)

Joe Biden Dodged Half a Million in Taxes, and He Wants You To Pay Your ‘Fair Share’

In his speech to Congress last Wednesday and his multi-trillion-dollar plan for “human infrastructure” released earlier that day, President Biden proposed yet another tax increase, this one on purportedly “wealthy” individuals and families. In his address Wednesday evening, Biden used the words “fair share” on no fewer than five separate occasions to justify these proposed revenue hikes.

Yet with his own taxes, Joe Biden didn’t pay his “fair share.” Upon leaving the vice presidency in early 2017, he and his wife Jill exploited a tax loophole of questionable legality to dodge hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes—and used the savings to fund lavish real estate holdings.

Biden’s personal conduct raises two obvious questions: How can someone who avoided more than $500,000 in taxes to fund his luxury lifestyle demand that others “pay their fair share”? And how can someone proposing the biggest expansion of government since Franklin Delano Roosevelt claim he supports more federal spending, when he wouldn’t pay for that spending himself? . . .

I previously reported on the details of the Bidens’ tax avoidance in the years following Joe Biden’s service as vice president. From 2017 through 2019, Joe and Jill Biden classified a total of $13.5 million in book and speech income as profits from their two corporations, rather than as cash wages.

While the couple paid full income taxes on all their revenue, classifying most of their earnings as corporate profits rather than wages allowed the Bidens to avoid paying $513,540 in payroll taxes on their $13.5 million in declared corporate profits. Tax experts interviewed by the Wall Street Journal in 2019 called the Bidens’ maneuvers “pretty aggressive,” and stated that they existed solely to circumvent paying payroll taxes. Biden’s Migrant Plan Has Cost Taxpayers at Least $3B, Records Show

The federal government has awarded about $3 billion in contracts to shelter unaccompanied illegal immigrant children since February, records show.

The Department of Health and Human Services awarded the three largest federal contracts, worth over $2 billion, to two private companies and one nonprofit — as record illegal immigration surges began overwhelming authorities at the southern border.

The contracts went to Deployed Resources of Rome, New York, Family Endeavors in San Antonio, Tx., and Rapid Deployment in Mobile, Ala.

Deployed Resources secured a $719 million contract to house 1,500 migrant children at a facility in Donna, Tx., and was previously contracted by the Trump administration for similar jobs. (Read more from “Biden’s Migrant Plan Has Cost Taxpayers at Least $3B, Records Show” HERE)

Shocking Miss: The U.S. Economy Added Just 266,000 Jobs in April, Unemployment Ticks Up

The U.S. economy added just 266,000 jobs in April and the unemployment rate ticked up to 6.1 percent, the Labor Department said in its monthly labor assessment Friday, smashing expectations.

This was far below expectations. Analysts surveyed by Econoday had predicted Friday’s report would show between 755,000 and 1.25 million workers added to payrolls in April. The median forecast was for 938,000 and an unemployment rate of 5.8 percent.

The disappointing number for April could be a sign that hiring is being held back by enhanced unemployment benefits and schools that have not reopened full time, requiring some parents to stay home to take care of children. Many businesses say that they cannot hire enough workers to fill positions because of the government’s enhanced unemployment benefits program.

The economy has outperformed expectations on many metrics this year as vaccinations have boosted business and consumer confidence and restrictions on businesses have been lifted. Friday’s employment numbers represent a rare miss.

In April, average hourly earnings increased by 21 cents to $30.17, a 0.7 percent increase, following a decline of 4 cents in the prior month. Average hourly earnings for private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 20 cents to $25.45. White House Admits it Tries To Get Biden to Shut Up

. . .[W]ord that the White House doesn’t want Biden to respond to impromptu questions should surprise no one, Fox News reported.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, said in a CNN interview it’s “not something we recommend.”

She added that many times she tells Biden not to take questions.

“But he’s going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president of the United States,” she said.

Psaki also said press conferences distract Biden from doing his work, and “he would have to answer questions about certain topics.” (Read more from “White House Admits it Tries To Get Biden to Shut Up” HERE)

Biden Cuts ‘God’ Out of Day of Prayer Proclamation

By WND. President Joe Biden this week cut “God” out of his proclamation for a National Day of Prayer.

Instead, he calls on “citizens” to follow “their own faiths and consciences.”

Just the News documented that “Lord” appears only once, when Biden uses boilerplate language regarding “In the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one” and a reference to the “divine” only comes up only in a quote from the late Rep. John Lewis[:]

. . .

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 6, 2021, as a National Day of Prayer. I invite the citizens of our Nation to give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings, and I join all people of faith in prayers for spiritual guidance, mercy, and protection.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fifth.

Biden’s National Day of Prayer proclamation excludes the word ‘God’

By The Christian Post. President Joe Biden’s proclamation in honor of the National Day of Prayer is facing criticism from conservatives because it does not include the word “God.”

Biden, a Catholic, issued a presidential proclamation recognizing the National Day of Prayer Thursday. He invited “the citizens of our Nation to give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings.”

As the president noted, “Congress, by Public Law 100-37, as amended, has called on the President to issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a ‘National Day of Prayer.’” . . .

“We celebrate our incredible good fortune that, as Americans, we can exercise our convictions freely — no matter our faith or beliefs. Let us find in our prayers, however they are delivered, the determination to overcome adversity, rise above our differences, and come together as one Nation to meet this moment in history.”

Biden also credited prayer for powering “moral movements,” including “essential rights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled Americans.” (Read more from “Biden’s National Day of Prayer Proclamation Excludes the Word ‘God'” HERE)

American Military’s Main Focus: Diversity (VIDEO)

The nation’s top military officer touted “diversity” as one of the United States military’s “key strengths” on Wednesday, amid a push by the Biden administration to make race a top issue at the Pentagon.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley made the remarks at a commissioning ceremony for graduating ROTC cadets at Howard University, one of the nation’s historically black colleges and universities.

“One of the key strengths of the American military is our diversity and fighting for a common cause, and we must get better,” he said.

He said when black Air Force Chief of Staff C.Q. Brown was first commissioned as a second lieutenant, only two percent of pilots in the U.S. Air Force were African American.

“Today, there’s still only two percent pilots in the United States Air Force that are African American,” Milley said.

White Farmer Sues Biden Over ‘Racist’ COVID Relief

A white Wisconsin dairy farmer is suing the Biden administration for its “racist” coronavirus relief plan.

Adam Faust, a disabled farmer, is one of five people in the state last week to sue the administration over the terms of the American Rescue Plan, which provides aid to “socially disadvantaged” farmers. In a federal lawsuit filed in Green Bay, the group alleges that since that definition only includes minority groups and not white people, they have been denied equal protection under the law.

“Were plaintiffs eligible for the loan forgiveness benefit, they would have the opportunity to make additional investments in their property, expand their farms, purchase equipment and supplies, and otherwise support their families and local communities,” attorneys for the farmers wrote. “Because plaintiffs are ineligible to even apply for the program solely due to their race, they have been denied the equal protection of the law and therefore suffered harm.”

Faust told the local Fox affiliate that the plan is “out and out racist.”

“I really don’t think that there should be racism allowed in the federal government at any level!” he said. (Read more from “White Farmer Sues Biden Over ‘Racist’ COVID Relief” HERE)

How COVID ‘Rescue’ Funds Are Mowing Down American Small Businesses

Via the American Rescue Plan, Joe Biden and the current U.S. Congress are re-ordering the small business economy in America in a way they may not have thought through, and the consequences will reverberate throughout the economy for years to come.

Washington is about to replace most of the lost revenue of small businesses in a few select industries while leaving nearly all other small businesses hung out to dry. If you run a local movie theater, a live music venue, or a restaurant, you will be given a grant from Uncle Sam to help you build back after COVID-19. Yet hair and nail salons, independent bookstores, travel companies, junk haulers, business brokers, and countless other businesses are on their own.

The new Restaurant Revitalization Fund will replace a restaurant’s 2019 gross revenue in full — up to $10 million per business. There are, yes, a few caveats for affected owners to be aware of. . .

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant will replace 45 percent of a live performance venue’s gross 2019 revenue largely without the caveats above. This grant is for live music halls, movie theaters, museums, talent agents, and other types of live art presenters and promoters. Again, it’s a potential godsend for many of these folks.

Yet while these programs are essential, they are incredibly unfair to the rest of America’s millions of small businesses. For those not covered by those two programs, what’s being offered are loans that must be paid back with a lower limit than the gross income metric and slow underwriting — that is, if a business even has the savvy to get in on the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Biden Wants Social Media Platforms to Censor More ‘Untrustworthy Content’

The White House said Wednesday President Joe Biden supported social media companies banning more content considered “untrustworthy” on their platforms.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki declined to say during the daily press briefing if Biden supported social media companies continuing to ban former President Trump from their platforms, but she did reiterate Biden’s support for more censorship.

She said Biden believes that social media companies have the “responsibility” to block questionable content.

“His view is that there is more that needs to be done to ensure that this type of misinformation, disinformation, damaging, sometimes life-threatening information is not going out to the American public,” she said. . .

“The president’s view is that the major platforms have a responsibility related to the health and safety of all Americans, to stop amplifying untrustworthy content, disinformation, and misinformation, especially related to COVID-19, vaccinations, and elections,” she said.
