Biden Vows to Tackle America’s ‘Systemic Racism’

President Joe Biden hailed the jury’s decision Tuesday finding former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty on all counts in the murder of George Floyd, but says it is just the start in fighting the “systemic racism” in America.

Following the verdict, the president promised Floyd’s family their victory was only the beginning, vowing to push for further policing reforms and “much more.”

Floyd family attorney Ben Crump took a call from Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris after the verdict was announced, and the lawyer put the phone on speaker for the family gathered around.

“Nothing is gonna make it all better, but at least…now there’s some justice,” the president began. “I think of Gianna’s comment, ‘My daddy’s gonna change the world,” Biden said, referring to Floyd’s daughter, before declaring, “He’s gonna start to change it now.”

WATCH: White House Changes Biden’s Stance on Marijuana Regulations

President Joe Biden now supports decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level and legalizing marijuana for medical use, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters Tuesday.

“The President supports leaving decisions regarding legalization for recreational use up to the states, rescheduling cannabis as a Schedule 2 drug so researchers can study its positive and negative impacts,” Psaki said in response to a question from Fox News’ Kristin Fischer on the subject. “At the federal level, he supports decriminalizing marijuana use and automatically expunging any prior criminal records. He also supports legalizing medicinal marijuana.” . . .

Biden stood alone among the top tier 2020 Democratic presidential candidates in opposing federal legalization of marijuana. Vice President Kamala Harris’ own campaign criminal justice reform plan focused heavily on full federal legalization.

Furthermore, the White House drew fire after apparently reversing a stated policy on staffers’ past marijuana use. Despite informing prospective hires that “applicants with limited marijuana use [would] not be barred from” serving in the administration, the White House asked multiple staffers already working in the administration to resign after they admitted to limited marijuana use in the past. President Biden Pushes DC Statehood

The White House is officially supporting Democrats’ long-shot effort to grant statehood for Washington, DC — a move that would all but assure the party would gain two more seats in the Senate.

“For far too long, the more than 700,000 people of Washington, D.C. have been deprived of full representation in the U.S. Congress,” the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of Biden administration policy.

“This taxation without representation and denial of self-governance is an affront to the democratic values on which our Nation was founded.”

Congress should “provide for a swift and orderly transition to statehood,” the statement continued. (Read more from “President Biden Pushes DC Statehood” HERE)

Study Reveals Media Bias Towards Joe Biden Presidency Compared To Trump

A study found President Joe Biden has received a far larger amount of positive news coverage than former President Trump did during their respective first three months in office.

Between January 20 and April 9, 2021, the study found Biden received 59 percent positive press exposure while Trump was hit with 89 percent negative evening news coverage from ABC, CBS, and NBC during the same time period in 2017, according to MRC News Busters.

The study also discovered Biden received coverage amounting to only 726 minutes of all evening news airtime for the three stations. Trump, meanwhile, attracted the media’s attention far more with 1,900 minutes.

The media’s three most covered topics of Biden in the first three months were his coronavirus response (79 percent positive), the coronavirus spending bill (86 percent positive), and the southern border crisis (82 percent negative).

Trump, on the other hand, received 93 percent negative coverage on his immigration priorities. (Read more from “Study Reveals Media Bias Towards Joe Biden Presidency Compared To Trump” HERE)

Biden ‘Prepared To Compromise’ On Infrastructure Plan

President Joe Biden told a bipartisan group of legislators that he is “prepared to compromise” on his $2.25 trillion infrastructure plan at a White House meeting Monday.

Republicans present at the meeting include Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven, Florida Rep. Carlos Giménez, and Texas Rep. Kay Granger. Independent Maine Rep. Angus King was also present along with five Democratic senators and representatives. Republicans have criticized Biden’s infrastructure plan for allegedly having little to do with roads and bridges, arguing that it is instead a disguise for unrelated Democratic party priorities. Biden and Democrats argue the definition of “infrastructure” ought to be expanded to include welfare, climate initiatives, and other programs.

Monday’s meeting is supposed to be a kick-off for the Biden administration’s larger push to create bipartisan support for his plan. Republicans and more radical Democrats have both proposed alternative versions to Biden’s plan, but the White House has yet to announce any specific concessions to either side. Arizona Lawmaker Set For Major Audit Of 2020 Election Results After Winning Legal Battle

Arizona’s state Senate is set to begin a major audit of ballots from the state’s largest county after months of being reportedly blocked by county officials.

“It’s taken the Senate 2 1/2 months to win in court to uphold our right to issue subpoenas for election materials,” said state Senate President Karen Fann, “and another six weeks of researching to select the audit team to perform the full forensic audit.”

Arizona’s Republican-controlled Senate has had subpoenas to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors pending since Dec. 15 and has battled in court for the right to access to information and equipment needed to perform the audit.

A judge upheld the chamber’s right to issue the subpoenas, paving the way for a “detailed” review of the county’s ballots to include “testing the machines, scanning the ballots, performing a full hand count, and checking for any IT breaches.” (Read more from “Arizona Lawmaker Set For Major Audit Of 2020 Election Results After Winning Legal Battle” HERE)

WATCH: Biden Calls For More Action On Gun Control

President Joe Biden called for more action on gun control during his Friday press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

Biden touted his own history on the issue and said that while he had already discussed with Attorney General Merrick Garland what could be done by executive order, it would ultimately be Congress’ job to take action.

“No one has worked harder to deal with the violence used — by individuals using weapons than I have,” Biden began. “I am the only one to ever have passed an assault weapons ban. I’m the only one that ever had a 10-year assault weapons ban, and a ban on clips of more than ten bullets.”

Biden went on to say that his intent was to push Congress to follow up on the gun control measures he had already taken by executive order. (Read more from “Biden Calls For More Action On Gun Control” HERE)

WATCH: Joe Biden Finally Admits The U.S. Is Facing A Border Crisis

It took him long enough, but President Joe Biden finally admitted that what is going on at the border is “a crisis.” As Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire reported, the president used the term after playing gold in Delaware, according to White House correspondents.

As one can tell from the tweets, President Biden’s statements came in the context of discussing the refugee numbers. Initially, the refugee caps were going to remain the same from the Trump administration, but Biden quickly caved after pressure from the left, and has vowed to increase them. WATCH: Biden Tries To Take Credit for Something He Was Against

During his remarks announcing a new timeline to withdraw troops from Afghanistan after nearly 20 years of war, President Biden appeared to take credit for the decision to green-light the raid that killed former al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. . .

While Biden has different versions of what happened in the lead-up to Obama’s decision to authorize the raid that took out bin Laden, it is well documented that he was against going at that time.

Biden’s first version of his role in the discussion was best expressed in January 2012, when he spoke to House Democrats at a retreat. Biden at the time probably did not expect to run again for president. He was clearly trying to make Obama look like a gutsy decision-maker in the face of antsy aides.

“The president, he went around the table with all the senior people, including the chiefs of staff, and he said, ‘I have to make a decision. What is your opinion?’ He started with the national security adviser, the secretary of state, and he ended with me,” Biden said. “Every single person in that room hedged their bet except [CIA Director] Leon Panetta. Leon said, ‘Go.’ Everyone else said, 49, 51. He got to me. He said, ‘Joe, what do you think?’ And I said, ‘You know, I didn’t know we had so many economists around the table.’ I said, ‘We owe the man a direct answer. Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go. We have to do two more things to see if he’s there.’ ” (WaPo)

Not a Joke: Kamala Blames Border Crisis on ‘Climate Change’

Chosen by President Biden to oversee immigration policy, Vice President Kamala Harris has been assessing the situation at the border.

The “root cause” of the migrant surge, which even some Democrats have admitted is a “crisis,” is not the administration’s policies, she contends. It’s “climate change.”

Harris hasn’t been to the border since becoming vice president, but she is planning a trip to Mexico and the Northern Triangle countries, where she says there’s a “need for resilience around extreme climate” due to “severe climate experiences.” . . .

The New York Post editorial board was skeptical of her assessment, noting she made no mention of “the corrupt governments that prevent economic progress — and are sure to pocket the bulk of any foreign aid meant to develop those economies or make their farms more ‘resilient.'”

“Nor did she touch on the gangs that terrorize the common people there, giving them more urgent reason to flee,” the Post said. (Read more from “Not a Joke: Kamala Blames Border Crisis on ‘Climate Change'” HERE)
